Sending various documents through FAX in PO

Hi All
I had a requirement to FAX various kinds of documents like PDF WORD etc through FAX in Purchase Order.
It has to be accessed from Document Management System.
Any pointers in this shall be welcomed.

Hi Saurabh,
You got standard way to do it . First your message has to be set to be send by Fax ( check in transaction NACE for this or check with your functionnal consultant ) .
After you have to make some technical customizing in transaction SCOT in order to configure Fax connexion from SAP and then set the file fomrat you want for fax.
Remember that if you want to send Fax directly from SAP, SAP need to be connected to a Fax Card or a Fax Server .

I have used CONVERT_OTF_AND_FAX and SO_OBJECT_SEND FM's to send the smartform through fax.After executing SO_OBJECT_SEND function module,I am getting sy-subrc alue as 9(OBJECT_NOT_SEND).I am able to send the document through fax.But when I click on display in SOST transaction it is just printing the output of the smartform.It is not coming in PDF format.
The code looks fine.I think there is some problem with confuration settings.Is there any configuration to be done to send the smartform output through fax?

Actually,my requirement is to send the smartform output through email with medium 'external send'.I have done some coding for that.it is working fine and I am able to send the smartform through email and open the attachment in PDF format.
But if the email id of the recipient is not present then the smartform output has to be sent through fax with the same medium 'external send'.
So I have done some coding to send the smartform through fax when the email id is not present.
I am able to send the output of smartform through fax.But when I clicked on display in SOST transaction,it is not coming in PDF format.It is coming in RAW format.
Is it possible to send the smartform output through fax with medium 'external send'?

Problems when trying to send a smartform through fax

Hi,
Im currently confronting a problem when sending smartforms through fax to multiple recipients.
This is the scenario Im working on:
The client needs to be able to send a document, could be a PO or invoices, to diferent recipients at the same time. So far in case of purchase orders, we have been able to find the respective faxes and emails for each of the partner functions.
Functionality for email is working as desired but when sending faxes I have problems.
Reviewing the output through SOST I get all my receipients which are email and faxes. Emails are fine since it creates a PDF attachment with the order and all of its details.
For fax I get the same even though the paramenters are set for fax.

KM "send to" document through email confirmation message

Dear Colleagues,
We have a requirement where in we have been asked to give a pop-up confirmation when a document is sent from KM using the "send to" menu item based on the meta-data attribute for that document. Our document will have "public" and "confidential" custom property attributes. So when a user clicks on "send to" we need to ask for a pop-up confirmation and also send an email to supervisor whose mail address will also be in document meta data attributes.
How can we achieve this?

Hi Manish,
I think you have to develop a new "send to" UI command.
I don't see a possible workaround using standard KM/portal features to achive this.
If you want to see how to develop a new KM object, you can read this doc:

unfortunately, AFAIK, there isn't a doc which describes how to develop a new UI command.

Problem while sending Smartform through Fax

Hi Folks,
I am sending a Smartform through fax by setting the essential Control Parameters and Output Options while calling the function module of the Smartform.
In SOST I get the status message 710(Message transferred to node FAX(...) ) and later in around 20 minutes the message 812(No delivery to FAX(.......fax no) ) occurs for some requests.
Only few requests are sent successfully by the same program and same O/P Type and shows the status message 701(Delivered to FAX (................)).
There is no much time difference between those requests while creating.
Do you know what could be the problem?
Can you help me in solving the issue?

may it be that in those cases where it doesnt work, that you got no fax number?
Since it works soemtimes, it seems there are no errors, but rather in some cases some important info is missing, fax number may be one of thsoe important info in a FAX scenario.

Can any body please tell me how to send a report through fax, when the fax modem is connected to the server or to any client

In 9i Reports Services provides you with mechenism to attach a pluggable destination which in your case can be a fax. You can refer Reports java API for pluggable destination interface and attach your own code to do this task.
You can also refer FAX using Oracle9iAS Wireless plugin example at following url:

This uses Oracle9iAS Wireless to fax report output.

Send order attachment by fax

Hi friends,
I need to send the order attachment as well as the order by fax.
1. is it possible?
2. how can this be achieved?

Hello,
As you know you can't send an attachment through FAX.
But you can send an order through fax. For that you have to do the following setting.
1. Set the Medium as FAX for the vendor for a purchasing organisation .
2. You have to create a smart from and using BADI bbp_output_change badi you have to set that smartfrom for a logical system.
3. Now when a PO will be created on that purchasing organisation for that Vendor , PO will automatically send to the vendor through FAX . Vendor will get a documents which is created using the smartfrom.

Fax document through Officejet

I can fax document through my Officejet J6450 from my Window XP computer. I just "Print" the document and there is a choice of "Officejet J6450 fax" to send the fax. I can not do the same with my Windows 8.1 computer. There is a choice of "Fax" but it asks for "Connect to a fax modem" that I don't have or "Connect to a fax server on my network" that I don't know what it is. Tried all kind of setups but just can not get "Officejet J6450 fax" printer in my Windows 8.1 computer. Just read that "Only one computer can act as the Fax to PC or Fax to Mac administrator computer" (by Provost in the Forum). If this why, how do I transfer it from my XP computer to my Windows 8.1 computer? My windows 8.1 computer do record all fax in and fax outs, including those send from my XP computer.

I keep receiving an error message when I try to send an adobe document through Outlook email.

I keep receiving an error message when I try to send an adobe document through Outlook email.
The message is : Either there is not default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the message request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
I have checked everywhere on my system and changed Microsoft Outlook as the default mail program but nothing is helping. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am having the same issue, just replied to a different post on the issue. I am running Acrobat X Pro with Win 7 Pro 64-bit. This is a new PC, but my last PC was a 32-bit OS and I didn't have this issue. I was suspecting that it is due to the 64-bit OS.
Reading this post though, I am starting to wonder if there isn't something else going on. When I go to Edit>Preferences, I don't have anything related to email under Categories, or even within any of the categories listed. I am I missing a plug in or something? Or is this a component of a previous version of Acrobat?
I tried to attach a screenshot of the error message but getting a new error while trying to attach! File is only 25kb! Will have to live without i guess.

PO sending through FAX

Hi Guys,
While creating the Automatic PO, it needs to send the PO to VENDOR via FAX, while i am generating the Automatic PO; it is not sending the PO via FAX.
But the OUTPUT type showing green and RFC destination connection test results are OK. Checked SOST and found that fax messages are being sent.
Where it could be the problem, could you please suggest me?

Can you also check the SCOT setting and try sending a word document to the FAX.

Hi,
I need to send smartform output through email if the email address is present else if the email address is present then it has to be sent through fax.If both the email address and fax are present,then it has to send an email.
Now the issue is I am able to send the email and I am getting the message as 'Output was successfully issued'.But the entry corresponding to this is not shown in SOST transaction.
Can anyone tell me what would be the reason for this?
