Separate PurRequisitions as result of BOM explosion

Hello,
is there a possibility with customizing or with an exit/enhancement influence that separate Purchase requisitions are created in the following scenario:
Sales order BOM is used, same material codes appears twice in this BOM.
The material code has value 1 as Indiv./Coll. parameter in Material master.
The BOM is exploded by MRP, the requisitions are created, but the for the menioned two BOM item lines, one combined Requisition is created. (the requirement would be to have 2 PReqs)
A follow-on question, assuming that the above mentioned requirement can somehow be implemented:
is it possible to get the BOM Item long text copied to the PReq Item long text?
Thanks in advance for any guidance,
LK

Hello,
the requirement is due to the 2nd Q I have above:
The BOM item lines may have different BOM Item long texts which need to flow to Purchasing process as specifications.

  • BOM Explosion Number in Sales Order

    Hi Experts,
For a make-to-order case, I would like to assign a predefined BOM explosion number with fixed key date to a sales order item. Instead of manually assigning the BOM explosion number to the sales order item, is there any way to let the system automatically assign the BOM explosion number?
As I read from SAP Library under the BOM Explosion Number (Fixed Key Date), it states "The system can automatically specify the BOM explosion number when entering planned independent requirements or customer independent requirements or when entering the sales order." So is there any configuration to be done in advance to enable the BOM explosion number to be automatically assigned to sales order item?
    Thanks,
    SW

I tried also setting up the material and its BOM determination by specifying only 1 BOM out of multiple BOMs. Still,
    1. When I add the said material into sales order line and save the sales order, the BOM explosion number value never appear automatically in the sales order line.
    2. When I run the planning on the sales order through MD50, the planned results do not have the BOM explosion number attached.
I think your advice is more applicable to selection of a BOM from multiple BOMs instead of determining the fixed key date based on appropriate BOM explosion number, correct me if I am wrong.

  • VC - new characteristic does not show in PS BOM explosion / CU50

    Hello World,
we added a new Characteristic to a class that is basis for a Material BOM explosion. In transaction CU50, the new characteristic can be configured by selecting its single values and the result shows up correctly in the BOM explosion.
Unfortunately, it is does not show up in the BOM explosion result of the SAP PS module @ Network Activity where the explosion is done concerning to our biz process. All other characteristics explode properly in the PS BOM explosion. I have no clue about the difference of the newly added characteristic is that makes it behave differently (only) in the PS system, not showing up in the result.
In CU50 @ Menu Extras @ Result I found a trace of the difference, but cannot interpret it due to a lack of documentation of the resulting screen that is entitled "Configuration : Result". Here, in table "Detail List", only the faulty new characteristics show additional extra Dependency entries with a light green background that cannot be found with all other characteristics in the same table. These extra entries can be drilled down by double-click and produce a pop-up window that shows some status information and the dependencies source code.
Question: what do the extra entries of dependencies say, why are they shown and why not at other characteristics?
By understanding this difference I hope to find the reason why these characteristics are not exploded in the PS module (which is my primary question).
Thank you for a helpful answer!

    Hi Jong - Moon cho,
    Please check following setting,
1.Consider setting the Individual/Collective indicator to 2. (MRP 4 view)
2.In order to get dependent requirements from the planning of configurable materials, components should not be configured with strategy group 70 or 59.

  • BOM Explosion problem

    Hi,
I have multilevel BOM (almost 10 levels with around 1500 materials), in which many materials repeat at different levels.
I am facing problem in one of the material during MRP, This material is used at 10 different levels. Altogether to produce a FG it requires in 36 numbers. In different levels quantity of it required is different. Say 8,1,4,2 etc but total qty is 36.
When MRP is run the requirement generated for this material is same at all levels i.e 36(total qty) / 10  (BOM levels) = 3.6
But actually system must generate requirements as per BOM quantity. Not sure what is wrong.
Requesting you all to reply quickly for this issue.
    Regards,
    Pavan

    Hi,
Below is the little knowledge i have which want to share with all the august people around.Hope it would be helpful enough for you to get the results.
A BOM is not exploded in the following situations:
    - No BOM is effective:
-- On the explosion date and in the given area of validity
    For the given effectivity parameters
    - The BOM has a deletion indicator.
    - The BOM is a multiple BOM, and has no alternative that matches the lot size for your required quantity.
    - No BOM matches the selection criteria of the BOM application you selected.
    - This is possible in the following situations, for example:
-- The application does not take all BOM usages into account.
For example, the application only takes BOMs that are relevant to production into account, so a BOM that is relevant to sales and distribution is not exploded.
-- The application selects a specific alternative on the explosion date you require. The material master record supports alternative determination by Explosion date.
If the specified alternative is not valid on the explosion date, the BOM is not exploded.
-- The application takes production versions in the material master record into account, but no production version has a BOM that is valid on the explosion date you require. The material master record supports alternative determination by Production version.
The system only explodes the BOM defined for the production version that matches the alternative and/or usage entered on the explosion date required.
-- The application only takes BOMs with certain status indicators into account.
For example, the application for MRP only explodes BOMs that have at least the status Explosion for MRP.
    Further checks:
    - Do the proper Scheduling in Routing (Backward/forward). In md61 give the requirement in next month.check your in-house production, planned delivery time in md02 give MRP Control parameter Rexplode BOM and Routing.
    - Check BOM explosion data in MRP4 view of material master view ( Individual/Coll data).
    Please revert with your response
    Thanking You in Anticipation

  • BOM Explosion with order finish date

    Hi,
In transaction OPPQ it is possible to configure the BOM explosion date used by MRP and creation of a process order (see SAP NOTE 506345).
I suppose this setting is also considered when re-reading master data during release of an order.
The field BESAL can have the following values:
                BOM explosion number/order start date
    1     Order start date
    2     Order finish date
3     BOM explosion number/order start date
4     BOM explosion number/order finish date
What I do not understand is that value 4 also end up in using the order start date when re-reading master data. Here the function module CO_ZF_VALIDATIONDATE_DET is called which contains the following coding:
    + Festwerte Feld BESAL:+*
    * ' ' Seriennummer/Eckstarttermin
    * 1   Eckstarttermin
    * 2   Eckendtermin
    * 3   Seriennummer
    IF T399D-BESAL <> CHAR2.
    * Auflösung mit Starttermin
    u2026
    ELSE.
    * Auflösung mit Endtermin
    u2026
    ENDIF.
which says only use the Order finish date if BESAL has the value 2. The comment showing the possible values gives me the impression that SAP simply forgot to adapt this coding when splitting the value 3 (prev. only BOM explosion number) into 3 BOM explosion number/order start date and 4 BOM exlosion number/order finish date.
On the other hand the SAP Note mentioned above documents this behaviour.
Does anyone know the reason why value 4 (BOM exlosion number/order finish date) results in using the order start date ?

    hi,
The defination in OPPQ is only working for the MRP, when the planned order is created.
Then the explosion date will be copied from planned order to production/process order when you convert the planned order.
However, when the production or process order is created manually, or when you do a re-read master data process, then a different BOM explosion date process will be carried out as described in the SAP note 506345, it has explained the behavior clearly base on the different value of paramter:
    V_T399D_S-BESAL = initial, 1, 3 or 4
V_T399D_S-BESAL = 2 (Explosion with order finish date)
So there is no problem to have different behavior of planned order and production/process order.

  • Sample steps to setup BOM explosion in MRP

    Hi everyone,
I am one of those unlucky folks that can't seem to get a simple BOM with FERT to explode HALB component within in MD02. I have spent two days reading every post about this common issue found over the Internet as far as 2007 and also read the SAP note 13023. I tried every suggestion to troubleshoot without success.
In my environment, I am using a clean IDES with standard SAP configuration, meaning no changes were done on it. As faced by others before, the BOM component just won't explode. I have even blank the days in MRP2 not entirely sure if my way of troubleshooting make sense. For simplicity, I have input a safety stock value to trigger the FERT within MD02.
Rather than I ask the same question again about where it might have gone wrong, may I know if anyone here can send or point me to a sample few steps guide or screenshots for the FERT and HALB MRP1 - 4 views and the BOM itself (1 material with 1 component)? I can then simulate the results using my IDES and move on from there.
Asking in this forum is actually my last attempt. My apologies to forum administrator for posting a request instead of something helpful to the community.
    Thanks.
    D.B.

    Hello DB
The most common cause for a missing BOM explosion is the validity.
On transaction OPPQ, on tab BOM explosion, you can determine which date will be used for the BOM explosion. You should make sure that your BOM is valid on this date. You can try to create your BOM with a validity in the past, in order to guarantee that it will be exploded.
Another common reason is the setting selection method on MRP4. If it is set to 3, the BOM will be only exploded if there is a production version.

  • No Sales BOM explosion via BAPIs

    Hi all,
We use BAPI_INQUIRY_CREATEFROMDATA to create inquiries; however this does not explode sales BOM; rather it creates just one line for the main material.
Are there any specific input parameters that need to be modified to trigger BOM explosion in the background.
Alternatively, are there any BAPIs or FMs at least to simulate BOM explosion and return the results so that we can pass them explicitly to the inquiry create BAPI.
Or is there any other way to create sales documents with sales BOM explosion. (we can't change the BAPI as its part of the source code of a 3rd party application; but we have user exits before and after this BAPI call).
    Thanks,
    KC
    SAP SD

Solved. Sales BOM does get exploded even in BAPIs. Checked with a different user ID and it worked. The RFC user seemed to have an authorization problem.

  • BOM Explosion for MRP Area

    Dear Expert,
I have doubt regarding BOM explosion for MRP Area. This doubt is triggered when performing MD01, as result I do not find the dependent requirement in MD04 for my FG. I have maintained the BOM through CS61 and MRP area for all component, I understand that only component level system is taking into account MRP area (storage location). FYI before maintaining all components to MRP area, the BOM explosion was successful exploded. Your advice is appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Mahnansa

    Dear,
Please check the Explosion control in Customizing, Transaction OMIW.
Try to explode the BOM in CS11 , CS12 or CS13 if it is working there in curret date then chack the planning file entry in MD21.
You need to convert the planning file entery at MRP area in OM0F.
Also note the dependent requirement is not generated in the corresponding MRP area to which the production storage location in the material master has been not assigned for the data of the MRP area.

  • Comp. Backflush using Comp. Scrap(No BOM explosion(manual comp. entry))

    Hi Friends,
    *Component Backflush + MFBF Functionality:*
Go to MFBF --> Select the radio button COMPONENT BACKFLUSH --> and click on
    COMPONENT SCRAP (application toolbar).
Now select the radio button NO BOM EXPLOSION(manual comp. entry).
Enter the Material Number and Production Version.
Now click on PROCESS COMPONENT LIST (application toolbar).
Enter Material, Quantity, UOM, Storage Location, Reason Code and press ENTER.
By default the movement type will be '551'.
Now when you click on SAVE button on the top. It will give you a material
    document number.
I have created a new FM according to the standard component backflush functionality and called the BAPI BAPI_REPMANCONF1_CREATE_MTS in my Z FM. But the functionality of the standard BAPI is not giving expected results.
I would appreciate if someone who had gone thru the same situaton could help me. I have done my research in different ways. But ended up finding none. Is there any other BAPI or procedure to achieve the above scenario.
    Thanks.

  • BOM Explosion for Multiple Process Orders

    Hi,
I hope someone can assist me with the following: Is there a report I can run or transaction I can do to have BOM explosion for multiple Process Orders? I would like to input process orders for a week and see the BOM details per PO.
    Thanks

    Dear Sukendar,
1.For this requirement you have to go for a Z report and you can give the Functional Spec's to prepare
this report to your ABAP consultant.Prepare the input format, logic of the program and the output format.
In the logic part you can make use of this Functional Modules's CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ or
    CSEP_MAT_BOM_READ  or CS_BOM_EXPLOSION   or CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 .
2.Using CEWB helps you to identify all the material that's having the BOM,but here the report does not
shows you the level by level by BOM for a FERT.
    Check and revert back.

  • BOM Explosion needed on PO and/or Delivery for Stock Transfer PO Process

    Good afternoon,
I have been researching the SDN and web for a solution to my problem to no avail so far.
The business problem I need to solve is the requirement for our STPO process to explode certain BOM's that are transfered from one company/plant to another company/plant in order to record batch/serial # component information by the delivering plant on the delivery and verification of the batch/serial # in the receiving plant during MIGO processing of the delivery.  This is needed by our Service Mgmt department in order to track servicable items within the Finished Good (medical devices industry).
It appears on the SDN that a BOM can not be exploded on a non-Subcontracting PO (which would be ideal for us), but barring this problem, we are trying to have the BOM explode in the Delivery created from the STPO via the VL10B transaction.
The STPO generates a Delivery doc with type NLCC and item category NLC.  I have maintained the material master for the BOM material to have an Item Category Group of ERLA, and I have modified Item Category Determination in configuration in Logistics Execution for deliveries to include ERLA, usage V, and NLC as default item category.  But, the deliveries generated from the STPO still do not explode, like what normally happens if the delilvery of the BOM was created from a standard Order.
The components for the BOM need to be displayed on the Delivery (if not the STPO), so the cleark can record the Batch/Serial #'s for each component.  Then when the receiving plant posts the Goods Receipt for the delivery a user exit we have (based on movement type and material document code) builds a Service Mgmt table that is then processed to De-install the BOM and components from the former plant and install the BOM and components at the receiving plant (and then subsequently at the ultimate customer's location when a normal sale is made), generating a new Functional Location.
Has anyone here had to do anything like this before?  Would any of you have any ideas on how this BOM explosion might work on the PO or Delivery?
    Thanks in advance.
    Scott.

  • How to restrict BOM explosion in Quotation and Sales  Order

    Dear all,
How can we restrict BOM main item explosion in Sales Order.
this BOM main item is having special order items which have to generate purchase requisition (item category - BANC),
with out exploding bom main item, can we generate a  purchase requisition for BOM subitems, can any body explain me that how can we do that.
your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    thank you
    Raghu Ram

    Hi Raghu Ram,
The BOM explosion is controlled by item category.
In the item category configuration screen, under "Bills of Material/ Configuration", you can see "Structure Scope" field.
Select the one which is applicable to your case:-
"blank" - Do not explode material structure
    A - Explode single-level BOM
    B - Explode multi-level BOM
C - Configuration, no BOM explosion
D - Configuration, poss. with BOM explosion
    E - Structure from Customer_Function (product selection)
    Hope this helps
