Service Deployment Fails on "Install VM components"

I've been having an issue trying to deploy a basic service. It fails on the "Install VM components" step. I'm using VMM 2012R2 and this originally happened with a Hyper-V host of Server 2008R2 and then again with Server 2012R2. The error is
Error (22042)
The service Base 2012 Test was not successfully deployed. Review the event log to determine the cause and corrective actions.
Recommended Action
The deployment can be restarted by retrying the job.
Error (12710)
VMM does not have appropriate permissions to access the Windows Remote Management resources on the server ( <HVserver>.<company>.com).
Unknown error (0x80338105)
Recommended Action
1) Ensure that the Windows Remote Management (WS-Management) service is running on the server (<HVserver>.<company>.com).
2) If the System Center Virtual Machine Manager service on your VMM management server is configured to run by using the machine account, ensure that there is not a group policy that does not allow adding machine accounts to a computer's Administrators group. If there is, you can use one of the following workarounds:
- Disable the group policy in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)
- Modify the group policy to allow the VMM machine account in the Administrators group
- Move the machine account to its own organizational unit (OU) and block the group policy from being applied
- Reinstall the VMM management server and choose the option to run the System Center Virtual Machine Manager service by using a domain account, and re-add all of your virtual machines.
VMM is running as system but the machine account was added to the administrators group for the Hyper-V server. There's no group policy that would prevent this and I can launch Powershell from from VMM server as System and "Enter-PSSession" to the
Hyper-V host as the machine account. I've also moved the Hyper-V host to an OU with no group policy just to rule anything out there and it still fails at the same spot.
Any suggestions on what I should try next?
EDIT: Also, I can deploy from a VM template fine, but it doesn't look like a VM template uses the "Install VM Components" step.

I was just able to get it working on mine on a VMMR2 Cluster (hyper-v on 2012 and 2012 R2 hosts with the same success) and the Service Template using a VM template with Server 2008R2 Enterprise.  I don't know if you did the same steps but:
created a fresh VM in VMM - install Virtual Guest Services.
convert that VM to a VM Template - VMM then copies the VM files to a location on your VMM Library.
create Service template using the new VM template - with no services.
I've had problems in the past with trying to convert a VM to a template, and the VM would fail at the 'Fix up differencing disks' ..  It wasn't until I did a fresh install instead of trying to convert a VM copy of a copy of a copy of a V2V migration..
Mine completes successfully but with an error couldn't install Virtual Guest Services when they are already installed.  hmmm..  The VM/Service is running fine however.
---------------------------- Error I got -------------------------------
Error (13233)
Unable to install Virtual Guest Services on virtual machine TEST_SERVICE. The Hyper-V Integration Services setup exited with error code 60001.
Recommended Action
For more information, refer to the Hyper-V documentation for virtual machine integration services at

  • Rt web services deployment failed

    I have a sbrio 9612 that I setup with an executable and web services.  I can get it to run great.  I then took an image of that one (using RAD) and deployed it to another sbrio 9612.  The web services don't work.  I then tried to deploy webservices the second sbrio with my project, and I came up with the error in the attached picture: Web Services Deployment Failed.  The NI Application Web Server is still loading.
    All I can find about that is issues when deploying to a laptop with a wifi card, but nothing about that with a RT unit.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Eric.

    I have redeployed the firmware several times and it still doesn't work.  It works on the original unit I took the image from, but not on the unit I'm deploying the image to.  Using max is not an option because these are basically in an OEM environment and if I distribute an image to a customer they will not have national instruments installed.
    Besides, that defeats the purpose of taking an image, if it works correctly in one place, you should be able to take an image of that and deploy it on another unit.

  • Photo shop cc ( failed to install) optional components failed (6)

    Just purchased adobe creative and downloaded Photo shop CC. The program ran but the error( Photo shop cc ( failed to install) optional components failed (6) appeared at the end of install. I have Windows 8.1 and am running Norton 360. Can anyone help?

    Hi myimagefactory,
    Please see Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html for information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files.
    You may also try the following steps:
    > Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
    > Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
    > Disable norton 360 Antivirus software temporarily from the computer.
    Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check.

    ~ Sam

    In case anyone is still interested in this thread.  I called Adobe tech support and they were able to help me finally get CS3 installed.  The steps I took were kind of messed up because I'd try something and it still wouldn't work and then I'd try something else.  But I think the following was the magic combination that finally worked.  I don't know if this would help anyone else but it worked for me...
    I uninstalled all the previously installed CS3 components.  In fact, I uninstalled everything that started with the word "Adobe" on my computer, even Flash Player, just for good measure.
    Then I ran the Adobe cleanup script at level 2
    I downloaded the script from here...
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
    I went into the "computer" window and set it up to show hidden folders.  Click Organize->Folder and Search Options->View. Then click "Show Hidden Files and Folders"
    Then I went into C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\Adobe and moved all the files in there to a folder on my desktop so there was nothing left in the Adobe folder (I don't think it wouldn't let me move some of the Acrobat files so the tech support guy said to just leave them)
    I did the same thing for C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe and moved all those files to a folder on my desktop
    Then I deleted all the files from C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Roadming\Adobe
    I think I ran the cleanup script one more time just for the heck of it.
    Next I went to the start menu and on the "Start Search" line I typed "msconfig."  When the system configuration window came up, I went to the "services" tab and checked "Hide All Microsoft Services"  Then I checked "Disable All"  So that disabled everything that wasn't a MicroSoft service.  Then I went to the "Startup" tab and checked "Disable All" and restarted the computer.
    Then I went ahead and installed everything fresh off the CS3 DVD and it worked the first time.  No more 1310 errors with the Config.Msi directory.
    Hope this helps someone else.
    Good luck!
    Jenn

  • ITunes 10.5 keeps failing to install - missing components

    Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help me - I went to upgrade to 10.5 (64-bit). Initially I was told that it failed to install properly and I would have to manually install the different components (yeah I'm a tech-moron), which I tried to. But they kept failing to install.
    So I uninstalled iTunes. And I then re-installed. But this is now now working.
    I keep getting a dialogue box telling me that "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes, Error 7 (windows error 126)" or words to that effect.
    Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do. This is especially urgent for me as my 4S is in the post! And yeah, like I said I'm a moron about stuff like this so step-by-step assistance would be really appreciated. Thanks!

    After reading all these posts, one by one did not resolve my problem until I got the very end.  Regardless of what step would resolve your problem, these are the steps I would recomment to everyone for a what seems to be a safe and fool-proof upgrade to iTunes 10.5.
    1. Stand alone upgrade to the latest Quicktime version
    2. Go to control panel and "change" then select repair to the following applications in the order specified by the post on Oct 27. (Notice I skipped Quicktime because it had been upgrade manually,and Bonjour did not have a "repair" option)
    iTunes; Apple Software Update: Mobile Device Support; Apple Applications Support
    Some of these applications may not appear if they do not apply to your configuration (no iPhone, or no iPad, or other apple devices).
    Once all updated, I did not need to restart nor launch any applications, I simply went straight into the 10.5 upgrade, and where it normally got stuck, this time the installation continued for a while longer until it completed successfully.
    Great work everyone who contributed!  Thank you very much!

    Trying to install Photoshop CS3, it always fails due to a component installation failure:
    Adobe Anchor Service CS3
    Skipping operation because required operation failed with code: 2
    Followed a lot of forum suggestion, CS3Clean, uninstall this and that, the problem persists.
    Both GUI and silent install have the same problem.
    Tried installing AdobeALMAnchorServiceAll directly with

  • Asset Intelligence Update Service Point fails to install

    Hi,
    I have one SCCM 2012 sp1 cu2 primary site running on Windows 2008 R2, and a separate SQL 2008 R2 database runnining in a cluster.
    I installed the Asset Intelligence Service point using the default settings, but the component is critical.
    When I look in AIUSMSI.log it tells me I do not have permissions to configure services - I am a local administrator on the primary server though and I can manuall stop and start services - error is:
    Product: Asset Intelligence Update Service Point -- Error 1920. Service 'AI_Upate_Service_Point failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
    I ran the AIUS.msi and recieved the same error.
    I went into services and stopped and restarted BITS, so my permissions seem fine. Has anyone else seen this problem?
    Thanks
    Jaz

    I have created a Reddit in SCCM, describing my peoblem.
    Please, can anyone take a look at it?
    http://www.reddit.com/r/SCCM/comments/2jbkfr/asset_inteligence_update_service_installation_ai/
    it goes like this:
    I have came across an error entry in Monitoring node in SCCM console. Monitoring - System Status - Component Status, there was an entry about AI Update Service giving errors like this:
    1) On 10/15/14 08:38:03, component SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER on computer "SERVER FQDN" reported: Site Component Manager failed to reinstall this component on this site system.
    Solution: Review the previous status messages to determine the exact reason for the failure. Site Component Manager will automatically retry the reinstallation in minutes. To force Site Component
    Manager to immediately retry the reinstallation, stop and restart Site Component Manager using the Configuration Manager Service Manager.
    2) Product: Asset Intelligence Update Service Point -- Error 1920. Service 'AI_UPDATE_SERVICE_POINT' (AI_UPDATE_SERVICE_POINT) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start
    system services.
    What I have tried to do: - Reinstall the role from ConfigMgr console
    - Install the AI role manualy from .\ConfigMgr\bin\x64\AIUS.msi with elevated rights (domain admin rights) and from elevated CMD (domain admin rights) - Install the AIUS.msi with local administrator
    account
    Manual installation was both:
    - During the time SCCM tries to reinstall the role by it self
    - During the time the role isn't installed at all
    - During the time the role was installed before it was uninstalled for the first time when I started troubleshooting this
    Basically nothing can start the service during the installation, not even account with domain admin rights.
    Do you have any idea what can I do next?

  • Security Update for exchange server 2013SP1 KB3011140 Stops all services and failes to install

    Hi All,
    Over the past 2 days this update has tried to run on the server in the evening but ends up failing. When it fails it is causing all of our exchange services to stop working and when we try to check e-mails the following day we find out the e-mail service
    has been offline since the update.
    Is there anything specific we need to do before running this update?
    Cheers,

    Hi,
    As what Hotaka says, this update is available from
    Windows Update. If it fails, we can also download and install the updates manually. The following stand-alone file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:
    Download the security update for Exchange 2013 Service Pack 1 package now.
    Download the security update for Exchange 2013 Cumulative Update 6 package now.

    Hello All,
    I've generated several successful web services from their WSDL files and a couple imported .xsd schemas. However one of the services fails to deploy, taking the whole deployment down with it, large stack trace I'm sorry.
    Anyone any ideas, the wsdl file is validated correctly, and all the code an deployment works happily until you invoke it.

  • Web Service deployment failed

    I have a web service applicataion that has been running fine now for some time. Recently, I edited one of the "always include" files [not the web method or aux vi's] and built and redeployed. I got the following error message:
    "You must start the NI Application Web Server before deploying a web service." Well the Application Web Server IS started, in fact the old deployment is running just fine. But for good measure I re-enabled the web service via localhost:3580, restarted the service via services.msc, repaired the installation and [of course] rebooted. I'm all out of quick fixes. Clearly the error message is mistaken but it prevents my deployment from completing. Ideas? [this knowledgebase article is irrelevant]

    Hey pl,
    This seems like a baffling issue, as the DM is definitely able to see the Web Server properly.  Possibly it could be an issue with the Application Builder?  Have you tried deploying with other versions of Labview or just 2011?  Also maybe check the 2 configuration files found in the National Instruments/Shared/NI Web Server folder.  I've attached what I have in mine, which should be the default initial values.

  • Mass Agent Deployment, fails when install

    After trying to install, sometimes not only one, the Mass Agent Deployment, release 10.1.0.3, in Linux RED HAT 3 ES/AS, when trying to run runInstaller, I have ever the same response, 'TMP directory is full or cannot write files in Orainst<timestamp> directory, needing 60 MB of free space.
    I have 16 GB of free space.
    Any help?
    thanks in advanced.
    regards.

    I solved it by doing following steps on the OMS server:
    # unzip <OMS_HOME>/agent_download/10.2.0.1.0/hpunix/prereqs/prereq_hpunix.jar
    # cd /oracle/product/oms10g/sysman/agent_download/
    # cd 10.2.0.1.0/hpunix/prereqs/prereqs/agent
    # vi oui_refhost.xml
    In this file replace the <PACKAGE VALUE= lines for something you have already installed, I used the secure shell package, which you must have installed to use agent deployment:
    <OPERATING_SYSTEM>
    <VERSION VALUE="B.11.11"/>
    <ARCHITECTURE VALUE="PA_RISC2.0"/>
    <NAME VALUE="HP-UX"/>
    <VENDOR VALUE="HP Corp"/>
    <PACKAGES>
    <PACKAGE VALUE="T1471AA" VERSION="0.0" />
    <PACKAGE VALUE="Secure_Shell" VERSION="0.0" />
    </PACKAGES>
    # zip -r prereqs.zip META-INF
    # zip -r prereqs.zip prereqs
    # mv prereqs.zip prereq_hpunix.jar
    After doing this retry the procedure.

  • NW BI-JAVA 7.01 SP6 deployment failed with error main_rules.ept

    Dear all,
    I've installed a new Web AS JAVA instance 7.01 SR1 with usage type BI-JAVA
    I then patched this instance with SP6
    At the end of the deployment process, I got a message from JSPM stating that the deployment failed but all the components had the status deployed.
    I pushed further the investigation and found out in the file main_rules.ept.log the following problem

    Though, the portal application is up and running! What can be the consequences of such an error? How to correct it?

    Hi everyone
    I had the same problem as you. After the deployment of SP6 JSPM told me that there was an error during portal deployment although all components had the status "Deployed" (newly installed system).
    PCD auto-import file main_rules.ept in no-overwrite-mode ...FAILED
    Import failed.
    Object ID: pcd:portal_content/administrator/super_admin/main_rules
    I opened a customer message @SAP:
    The solution is to rename the file "main_rules.ept.err" into "main_rules.ept" and restart the J2EE engine. If the file main_rules.ept was renamed to main_rules.ept.bak after the restart everything is OK acc. to SAP (-> note 1130469 ).
    Best regards

  • Install of CUCM 8.6.1.10000-43 on VMWare fails on installing progmeter

    Hi, Everyone
    First time post here, and first time installing CUCM (any version).
    I built a VM using a downloaded OVA template for CUCM 6.5.1.10000-43, and the install fails with a critical stop.  Once I figured out how to dump logs to the virtual serial port, and looked at the install.log, I found the following information that looks like where the install failed (these are the only LVL::Error and LVL::Critical messages in the log).
    It looks like install failed to install the progmeter application component.
    Does anyone know what this app does?  Any ideas on why it might have failed to install and possible workaround?
    I may already have the answer to the question, as I'm attempting install on a VM running on VMWare vServer (rather than ESX/ESXi/vSphere).  It is possible that simply being on an unsupported configuration is my problem.  I'm trying to work with the equipment immediately available to me, but fully understand that I may have set myself up for failure by even attempting this.
    Any help is appreciated greatly.
    Regards,
    Sean C

    Hi,
    Has anyone found a fix for this?
    I am trying to run call manager 8.6.1 on the following enviroment
    VMware ESXI 4.1
    4GB of RAM
    80 GB HDD Space
    I have allocated the VM one CPU
    In regards to vsergeyey reponse I have checked the network adapter and this is flexible.
    I have run the OVA template firstly before mounting the image
    I have tried installing numerous times.
    Each and every time near the "Installing Database Component" I get the following error;

    Tried installing other role to check if the issue is with NPS or Server MAnager. Other roles are getting installed properly
    Removed the ias folder from %Windir%\System32\
    Checked the registry value of NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE and found it to be 1
