Service for delete local files in Business Connector

I have used the "get" service for copy the files in the Business connector, does anybody know if there is any service for delete local files, i have seen the service for delete remote files with ftp, but i don´t know how to delete the copied files in my server.

For this issue the best choice is create your own Java Service. I attach you the Java code:
Put this code in a new Java Service
         boolean success = (new File("filename")).delete();
         if (!success) {
             // Deletion failed
   Before, you must to create an input parameter in the new service where you must to save the file path. Change Filename with the input parameter variable.
   It's not difficult.

XP/DW CS4 - Delete Local Files In Site View

Hi - I've recently begun using a PC for webdesign at work (coming from OSX).
When I am in "Site View" in DW CS4 and I delete a file or folder locally from my PC's HD it takes a really long time (aprox 1.5 minutes) to complete. Sometimes this actually causes DW to crash completely.
Not to start a flame war or anything but on my Mac this feature works beautifully - DW has no problem playing nicely with the finder. Anyone know how I can resolve this other than leaving DW and going to Windows Explorer to delete local files and folders?

How to write a web service for uploading a file

I want to write a web service for uploading a file to some specified folder under application server, how to do that? Thanks

I believe the "difference" that you're seeing is that one web service is "RPC" style (The Hello World example) and one web service is "Document" style (The WSDL you have downloaded).
Document-style web service methods always have one element as a parameter, and this parameter manifests itself as a SOAPElement in the service interface.
RPC-style web services are true "remote procedure calls", and are more functional in nature, in that they accept multiple parameters. JAX-RPC will bind these parameters to generated Java types.

URL for viewing local files

I'd been using Browserlab successfully today, viewing local files from Dreamweaver CS5. I logged out and then returned later in the day and am now having problems as the Browserlab window is failing to automatically load the local file's URL in the box at the top of Browserlab screen (the URL box just stays blank. Can I manually input the local address and if so can someone advise the general format. I assume something like http://localhost/.... Obviously I will need to input my own file names, but just need the root URL/general format for viewing local files.

Thank you for your interest in BrowserLab. Please check to see if you have the BrowserLab web site open in another browser or browser tab. You should only have one instance of BrowserLab open at a time. You might also try restarting your browser (all instances) and Dreamweaver and if that doesn't work, the OS.
BrowserLab currently only allows you to specify local or firewalled URLs from Dreamweaver. Directly inputting a URL into the BrowserLab testing interface will test the page from the perspective of a person elsewhere on the Internet. Open the site you want to test in Dreamweaver LiveView, select "Local" in the BrowserLab Panel in Dreamweaver and click the Preview button.

ABAP Query output to XML file using Business connector

Hi All,
I would request your help on to know, how can I read the output of ABAP query executed in SAP system via Business connector and then generate a XML file.
Also the existing business connector system, generates the XML file in encoding iso-8859-1. Where as customer wants the output XML file in encoding windows-1252.
Please help with your valuable ideas.

1. create a remote function module (FM) in SAP which returns your needed data
2. create outbound map in BC for this FM
3. call this FM from BC in a flow
3. extract the result to XML (e.g. with service recordToDocument)

We have recently integrated Windows file server to portal using webDav connector. I am unable to use the services (approval and versioning) for this new repository. How to enable the services for this repository?
KM content stored in PCD is having approval and versioning services and we are using them.

U need to enable the services specific to the repository that u have created.
A restart may also be reqd.
u need to go to Content Management->Repository Manager->File System Repository

I have a big problem trying to download a local file to an internal table. I have lines with more than 8000 positions, and i've tried to use WS_UPLOAD, GUI_UPLOAD and SO_OBJECT_UPLOAD, but all of them show me this messages:
   - Unable to satisfy send request: 8001 bytes.
¿Do you know any function module (i think it could be OO) that allows me to load this file?

Wrong metadata shown for some local files

As shown in the first attachment, I have some mp3s for a japanese artist, and one of the tracks spotify wrongly associates it with a completely different track. the title of the track isn't even the same (it is "Please Please", all other details are the same as the surrounding tracks). This I could put up with no problem as it still plays the mp3, the annoying thing for me is that it scrobbles the wrong track to last.fm when i listen to it. The 2nd attachment shows another smaller issue, as they actually match to the correct tracks (even though the spotify linked ones are singles rather than the album) but also provides the same scrobbiling issue since the artist and album names are in english rather than japanese like I have in the id3 tags. An advanced option to prefer local file metadata over spotify metadata would be king here!

Some files when imported into the timeline were shown shorter, because the frame rate that was deduced from the file was way too high. The fix targets this scenario.In fact, there could be cases where the frame rate displayed could be as absurd as 500 fps from a mobile phone camera which is not capable of capturing at that high rate.
So if someone has reported such issues, they could benefit from this. The fix is for both Windows and MAC

Receiving a inbound xml file in Business Connector

Hi All,
The requirement is we are receiving an inbound xml file at the BC end from a third party application.
We have configured the url in the third party end as follows -
http://ip address of BC:port address/invoke/Folder/Service
When the file is posted, the xml file is normally routed to the service in the developer.
In the developer we are using the service load document to load the file from the url location.
But at present when a xml file is triggered from the third party application it is routed to the service, and on checking the url location http://ip address of BC:port address/invoke/Folder/Service the server slows down slowly and we are not able to access both the developer and administrator after this.
Are we following the correct steps, or else is there anyother way of receiving the inbound file in BC.
Any suggestions on this would be of great help.
Please let me know if we are going wrong anywhere.

I am agreed with you approach, and this is what everyone do. :). So that is not a problem. May be something else will be the cause.

For load document, i don't think its necessary because using the URL post, you are submitting data directly to the Flow Service. So no need to do document load or anything. Also i am against to use the Save data in pipeline (savePipeline) service because when you transport this in production you need to comment this step otherwise it will give other problems when this will run.
if this approach is giving you performance problem, then try putting your xml file in you package directory and the write a file pooler and then parse this xml for ur use. this is one of the simple solutions.

Thanks for your reply. No, we do not have PI. This BC will be used for point to point communication with client.
Scenario:
R/3 server to send XML files to BC. BC will load these files ( using pub.getfile service), this file is to be parsed using pub.loaddocument service and then sent to client in XML format wrapped with digital signature. As i am new to BC i am unable to parse this file and wrap it with the digital signaature to send it.
Kindly advise on how best can we perform this action.

URI format for shared local files

Firefox uses this format to access shared files on a local network... file://///host/path eg file://///computername/sharename/MyDocs/filename.txt.
This format is different from the standard form file://host/path that is used on other browsers eg Windows, Chrome.
This means that Firefox does not give me access to shared files when I have coded the standard format URI into my local HTML documents. Why is Firefox different or non-standard.

How to look for a local file ?

I 've completed an app and wrote a documentation (word-document).
I would like my app to find the location of this document wherever it is on the local hard-drive.
That is,when the user presses Help,the program should find the file document.doc and invoke winword.exe document.doc .
How can the app find the file even if it is in a complete different directory?

Well, you start at the root and either iteratively or recursively do a search of the present directory and all subdirectories. Recursively the type of search is called a breadth first or depth first search.
Once you find the doc, you can invoke winword with a product from neava.com called coroutine.
