Service Master / Activity Master description change Issue

Dear Experts,
I am facing problem with Service master / Activity Master description change problem.
Steps in the problem -
1) Service Master / Activity Master created.
2) Long term purchase order (with large quantity) is created.
3) Service entry sheet and Invoice has been posted for the Purchase Order.
Due Service master / Activity master description change requirement from client, description of the
Services are changed.
But it is not updated in Purchase order. (As purchase order has been created before service master description change)
and when i am trying to post next service entry sheet with reference to the long term purchase order created,
it is not adopting the new one service description.
Thanks in Advance

Hi Kiran
The solution to your issue could be achieved as follows:
In the item level 'Service' tab for the corresponding PO line item, change the quantity to which you have already made Service Entry sheet. Then create a new line item with the Service number, once you enter the Service number you would see the new description here. Then when you create a Service Entry sheet with reference to PO, the system would ask you to select one of the two entries you have in PO. Here select the new entry which you have made.
Thanks
Prashanth

• Material Master description change

Hi All,
I have a PO created for a material and the PO is released at all levels. Now i change the description of the material using MM02. Now if i check in the PO it is not showing the new description in the short text field.
I made changes to the Vendor name and i see the New name coming up in the PO when i open the PO
Question:
WIll the new description of the material gets displayed on the already existing PO for that material or this new description gets appended only for the Purchase orders which are created after the description change
Please let me know
regards
Pavan

Hi,
PO created before Changes hence they are not comming in old documents.
We cna corelate with following example -
E.g.
u have original docuement (Matrial Master)
u have taken a Xerox copy of that ( Created PO )
now
u have changed the origional document (Material Master)
Changes will never reflect in Xerox Copy unless u get the new xerox or u need to change it manually
but yes u can one thing change it manually-
Remove the line item system will ask u about enter material number then add the same material number u will get the new desription

• Abt master data activation and attribute change run

There is any difference between master data activation and attribute change run

Hi,
Master data activation is activating the master data once you extract the data from source system the data will be in inactive state, so in order to make the data available we will activate the master data.
Attribute change run :Its used to update the newly changed master data records to the Hierachies and aggregates.
If you are already using the available master data in aggregates in InfoCubes, you cannot activate the master data individually. In this case we will use attribute change run.
For attribute change run we have direct tcode: RSATTR or In the main menu, choose the path Tools Hierarchy/Attribute Change.

• Difference between Activating Master Data and Attribute Change Run

Hi
Is there any difference between Atribute change run and Activating Master data functionaaly???
if wha it is???
can any one explain clearly?
Thanks
Chinna

When u load master data and its attribute to ur data target and if u change any data or attributes of ur master data,in order to update new data to ur data target attribute change run is performed.
When u create a characteristic and if u keep it as master data and activated..it is master data activation
Activating Master Data
When you update master data from an SAP system the master data is imported in an inactive state. You must activate the new master data so that it can be accessed and used for reporting purposes.
For more information, see Versioning Master Data.
Choose the path InfoObject Tree Context Menu of Corresponding Characteristic Activate Master Data.
Upon Activation there are two scenarios to choose from:
The Corresponding Master Data Is Already Being Used in Aggregates in the InfoCube:
If you are already using the available master data in aggregates in InfoCubes, you cannot activate the master data individually. In this case, proceed as follows:
1. In the main menu, choose the path Tools Hierarchy/Attribute Change.
2. Proceed as described in System Response upon Changes to Data: Aggregate.
The system now automatically restructures and activates the master data and its aggregates.
Please note that this process can take several hours if the volume of data is relatively high. Therefore, you should simultaneously activate all of the characteristics that are affected by changes to their master data, at regular intervals.
The Corresponding Master Data Is Not Used in Aggregates:
Choose the path InfoObject Tree ® Context Menu of Corresponding Characteristic Activate.
The system now automatically activates the master data so that it can be used directly in reporting.
If there is any change r newly added records in master data..then that particular data will not b avialable for the reporting unless u do activate master data...
if u r using aggregates and then there is any change in master data ...then that particular master data change wil not b available for the reporting unless u do arrtibute change run for that info object.(T-code RSATTR)
Master data attributes and hierachies are used in cube aggregates also. So to do update the latest master data attributes values in the aggregtes attribute change run need to be performed.So Attribute change run also updates the master data attributes in aggregates which is not apart of master data activation.
Text loads do not need attribute change run. Attributes, hierarchies and aggregates need attribute/hierarchy change runs. If you do not have aggregates, just activating the master data is same as attribute change run.

• URGENT: Service Call Activity Issue

Hi guys, I have a seriously irritating issue concerning the linking of an activity to service call.
As of Service Pack 01, Patch 36 (at least as far as I know) I get the following error when attempting to create and link an activity to a service call:
Error Code: -5002
Error Description: A service call activity does not exist
I use the folliwing code;
If oServ.GetByKey(MRI) Then
If DocType = "QT" Then
oAct = oComp.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oContacts)
oAct.Activity = SAPbobsCOM.BoActivities.cn_Task
oAct.CardCode = oServ.CustomerCode
oAct.DocEntry = DocID
oAct.DocType = 23
oDoc = oComp.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oQuotations)
If oDoc.GetByKey(DocID) Then
oAct.Notes = "Sales Quote: " & oDoc.Comments
End If
oAct.Details = "Sales Quote " & DocID & " auto created by MRI " & MRI & ""
If oAct.Add <> 0 Then
oApp.SetStatusBarMessage("Error adding Linked Document Activity for Sales Quote " & DocID & " : " & oComp.GetLastErrorDescription)
oLog.WriteLog("Error adding Linked Document Activity for Sales Quote " & DocID & " : " & oComp.GetLastErrorCode & oComp.GetLastErrorDescription, EventLogEntryType.Error)
Else
oServ.Activities.Add()
oServ.Activities.ActivityCode = oComp.GetNewObjectKey
oServ.Activities.SetCurrentLine(oServ.Activities.Count() - 1)
End If
If oServ.Update <> 0 Then
oApp.SetStatusBarMessage("Error linking Expense Document " & DocID & ":" & oComp.GetLastErrorDescription)
oLog.WriteLog("Error linking Expense Document " & DocID & ":" & oComp.GetLastErrorCode & "-" & oComp.GetLastErrorDescription, EventLogEntryType.Error)
End If
the Activity is added without any problem, but the error comes when linking it to the Service Call (oServ.Update)
Can you please help, I'm going insane with this problem.

this is how i got it to work:
ServiceCalls sc = null;
sc = (ServiceCalls)company.GetBusinessObject(BoObjectTypes.oServiceCalls);
if (!sc.GetByKey(callId))
throw new Exception("Failed to add service call activity! Service call does not exist!");
if (sc.Activities.Count == 1)
sc.Activities.SetCurrentLine(sc.Activities.Count - 1);
string temp = sc.Activities.ActivityCode.ToString();
if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(temp) && !temp.Equals("0"))
sc.Activities.Add();
else
sc.Activities.Add();
sc.Activities.SetCurrentLine(sc.Activities.Count - 1);
sc.Activities.ActivityCode = int.Parse(lastAcctivity);
if (sc.Update() != 0)
company.GetLastError(out errorCode, out errorMsg);
if (null != sc)
System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(sc);
sc = null;
throw new Exception(errorCode + " -> " + errorMsg);
You could either use that piece of code or make an insert in SCL5.

• How to find active master data source in the bw system

Hi
Can anyone guide me how to find the active master data source in the bw system

Hi,
You can use the table ROOSOURCE. The field ROOSTYPE specifies the type of datasource whether Transaction or attributes or text. You could write an abap program to filter the table and give you only master data datasources.
Assign points if helpful
Regards.

Please use slmgr.vbs /ato to activate and update KMS client information in order to update values.
Check your event log (on both this KMSclient, and also on your KMShost):
Look at the events from source = Security-SPP (SPPSVC)
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee939272.aspx
Also, we can see that there seems to be "tampering" occurring with the files for "Windows Activation Technologies":
C:\Windows\System32\Wat
You may need to first attempt to re-activate with your KMShost (use slmgr.vbs as advised by the logfile).
If this does not succeed, you may need to perform integrity checks on the WIndows files:
eg: SFC /scannow
eg: CheckSUR http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

• ADF master-detail master selection not updating detail tables properly

Hi All,
I am using JDev version : 11.1.2.0.0
I created new Fusion Web Application Module. In that module I created a master-detail data model and added them to a page fragment with a query panel. When I run it as a separate module, It works perfectly and Master selection correctly updates detail tables.
But when I integrate that module to another Fusion Application(Add application jar file to the Master Application libraries), Master-details master selection not updating detail tables properly. This problem occurred sequentially.
The problem is that.
After the page load, first selection of the Master Table works correctly and detail tables update correctly.
But second selection doesn't work, means detail table doesn't get update according to the Master table.
And again in the third selection works correctly.
This happens in a sequential manner. I monitor the behavior using Firebug. Observations are as follows,
When running correctly, Response of the Post Definition is
<partial-response><changes><update id="pt1:t1">

<div style="position:relative; Can you please help me to rectify this problem.

Hi,
sound to be an implementation specific issue that is hard to comment on without knowing how to reproduce it. If you have a rerooducible test case based on the Oracle HR schema using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6, zip it up, rename the "zip "extension to "unzip" and sent it to the mail address you find in my OTN profile. If you don't have that test case, explain how this can be reproduced

• Services for Object - Store Business Documents (issue with XLSX files)

Hi,
We are using the Services for Object > Store Business Document to be able to drag and drop files into (for example) Sales Inquiry, Sales Order, Sales Quotations etc.
Within OAC2 we have set up the global document types and these have been linked to the relevant Object Types and Content Repositories in OAC3. We have also set up the Content Repository as Document Area 'ARCHLINK'.
The ArhciveLink Basic Settings in OAG1 have the 'Always Copy Document Class from Document Type' set under Storage Settings.
The issue we are having is with XLSX document types. When we drag and drop the XLSX documen type using the Store Business Document the file is stored against the Sales Order but when you come to view the attachments MS Excel opens but an error message appears saying 'Excel cannot open the file '******' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file'?
We have reviewed SAP notes 1925897, 1739026 and 1145885 however non appear to give me a clear answer as to why this is happening?
I have found that if we unselect the option 'Always Copy Document Class from Document Type' in OAG1 then we can open the XLSX files.
As we have a significant amount of documents attached to various objects, what would be the implications of making this change agianst existing records and new records?
Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Gary B

Hi David,
No joy I'm afraid!!
I added entry 'xlslx' with the relevant MIME Type, Application and Description into table TOADD for the ArchiveLink settings and also this entry was already in tables SDOKMIME and SDOKFEXT for KPro.
I then following the process via the Services for Object within VA12 (Change Inquiry) to then Create > Store Business document > Select the relevant Document Type > Drag and Drop the XLSX file into the empty box.
I then saved the record and tried to view the attachement but I am still getting the same message 'Excel cannot open the file '******' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file'?
Our client is on componet SAP_BASIS release 701 Support Level 0014 and Support Package SAPKB70114 and I can see that note 1237688 is for SAPKB70112?
Regards

• Contact Service Queue Activity Report (by CSQ) Report SQL example

I've been tasked to recreate the Contact Service Queue Activity Report (by CSQ) Report, with SQL in SQL Server 2008 RS, Can someone give me an example or actual sql for this report? I've tried to folllow the hints about joining in the documentation, however, my reported numbers are much higher than what the Cisco report is giving back.
Thanks to anybody who knows where this sql is.
Lyle

Hi Lyle,
Please refer the section "Restrictions with Generating Historical Reports" in the below UCCX release notes.
http://www.cisco.com/web/ccbu/CRS/8/0/2/SU3/UCCX_802_SU3_Relnote.pdf
CSCtj96987 : Reports unable to generate large set of records bcz of tmp dbspace limit
Defect Description:
Customers are unable to generate HR reports for a larger duration because of a limitation set based on first 10k records in CCD table. Many customers require to generate reports for a complete month which they are unable to do now in 8.x
affected reports are :
Abandoned Call Detail
Aborted Rejected Call Detail
Agent Detail
Agent Login Logout
Agent State Detail
Detailed Call by Call CCDR
Detailed Call CSQ Agent
Additional Info
1. Customer may get runtime error if the temp dbspace gets full. HRC log will state clearly that the system ran out of disk space. This will happen if the customer is running reports for a very large set of data or running large number of simultaneous HR sessions involving considerable amount of data.
2. The temp dbspace is fixed at 2GB and cannot grow automatically when required. So, if the space is filled completely, HR reports will error out. The temp dbspace will be freed when the session ends. So, If you get run time error anytime, please restart HRC and try to generate report for a smaller period of time.
3. It is recommended to generate reports approximately upto 200,000 rows when a single session is running to avoid getting run time errors. If multiple sessions are running, modify the figure accordingly.
4. If the customer is running a single node setup, it is highly recommended to generate reports in the off-peak hours.
Fixed in :
8.0(2)SU2,  8.5(1)SU2,  9.0(1)
You can think of upgrading your UCCX system to the above releases for this issue fix.
Thanks,
Anand

• Master List "Master List" is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host.

Have used Master Lists for years without issue. After today's update all I get is the above error message.

Further update:
In the bug:
* https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=985245
comment 5 says
This has been reported as:
* https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1060901
If you have an account on Bugzilla, please consider voting for that issue.
Several other people have sent in the same support request as you, noting this happened after they upgraded to version 31.1.
The exact error message is: XXXX is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the e-mail.
This happens when your mailing list description includes several words separated by spaces.
If you choose to update to the recent version, although not ideal, these workarounds should let you use your mailing lists until a proper fix is implemented:
* While composing an email open the address book and select the list you are trying to send to, highlight all the names in the list and drag them to the To: box. This uses your existing data without modifying it.
* Replacing the blanks " " between the words in such lists' descriptions with an underscore "_". This requires modifying your mailing list(s) description(s).

• Material Master & Article Master

Hi All,
what is difference between Material Master & Article Master???
T. & R.,
S.Singh

Article is the term used by the Retail industry.
If you have IS-Retail activated, you use articles instead of materials, with the views customised to cater to retail industry.
Tcodes for articles: MM41 - Create, MM42 - Change, MM43 - Display.
