SET_CB_NAME CM Repository FSDB

Hi all,
I am having problems using the W2KSEcurityManager in a CM Repository FSDB because even though the user provided in the userMapping is a valid use like domain\user the error that I got is something like this:
com.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.generic.security.w2k.W2kException: User-Password not valid for Windows or SET_CB_NAME privilege maybe not granted for process owner at com.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.generic.security.w2k.W2kSecurityManager.isAllowedIntern(W2kSecurityManager.java:514)
Even though I pass this problem I have some wonderings about using the W2KSecurityManager. The Usermapping is mandatory? I mean, if my UME is conected to the same Active directory of the File System, the portal should provide the credentials of the current user to the File system in order to set the permissions on the folder rigth?
Any idea on how can I solved the issue or any guideline in the W2KSecurityManager really means would be appreciated.
Regards,
Orlando Covault

I Wrote a Note to SAP and they told me that this is a consulting issue. I followed all the instructions and this seems a bug to me. Does anyone has a similar scenario or anyone found a solution using W2KSecurityManager

  • Have been lost, all the properties files in the CM repository (FSDB mode)

    Hi,
I encountered the following problem: lost all descriptions to folders and files in the CM repository, which is connected to the FSDB mode. This happened as follows. At desired time connection to the server where the repository was broken, after some time the link was restored, but the repository was not available. After this portal has been restarted, and the repository to work, but lost all completed file properties, including the description.
How do I return all the description files?

    Hi Stanislav,
    Has this issue been resolved?
If not then the only way to restore this lost metadata would be a be restore, see sap notes 900571 and 737877 for more details.

  • Repository FSDB Startup Error - RID is too long

    Hi all,
    I've a problem with a FSDB repository.
We are going live in the next week. We mapped a repository of type FSDB. Everything was working fine, but we move from SP15 to SP16.
Now, the repository shows this error:
Startup Error:  the RID /MyRepository is too long to be mapped to a file
    Any help will be great!

  • CM repository FSDB type - documents are not indexed (authentication?)

    Hi guys!
I have problem with indexing documents on file system. I suppose, there can be problem, that indexing service can not acces file system, because of authentication. Which user accesses files to index? What access permissions must be set for this user?
    Thanx!
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
in the share security of the fsdb folder, you need :
    Group Administrators : Full Control
This group include at least administrator, sidadm, sapservicesid
    Everyon : Read
In the security of the folder itself :
    Administrators : Full control
Please verify that your host url in the url generator is valid (System administration\System Config\KM\CM\Global Services\Url Generator (Show advanced Options).

    My version is:

    thanks in advance !

thanks venkat for the quick response!
I will try upgrading SP14 next week,

  • Backup of CM Repository with additional properties

    Hello all,
im working with EP6 NW04 SP10 portal. I'am using a Content Management Repository (fsdb) to store a large number of PDF-Files. I definied some additional properties (as predefined properties) which are maintained by the portal users for some files and folders. Is there a standard methods to make a backup of a CM Repository including the values of the additional predefined properties.
    Thanks all,
    Tobias.

As Prakesh says, the properties etc are sotred in the CM repository.  So in your case, the files are stored on the filesystem (wherever you have specified) and the properties and other metadat in the database.

  • XML and XSLT Filter Application

I have a problem with an XSLT filter in EP6 SP2 exact version :
    6.0.2.5.4_ContentManagement_Collaboration
    6.0.2.5.0.Enterprise_Portal_Service_Pack_2
I have defined an XSL stylesheet as follows in KM Config
Configuration --> Content Management --> Repository Filters --> XSLT Filter
    name : local_fxrates_xslfilter
    Extensions
    Formatter
    MIME Type       text/html
    MIME Types
    Paths            /webcontent/xml/exchange.xml
    Resource Type
    Stylesheet       wcm://etc/filter/xsl/exchrates.xsl
    Active       yes
    Priority     1
    Repositories       feeds
I have another process that retrieves the appropriate exchange.xml file from a remote source and places it in the
directory above.  The feeds repository is an fsdb not that it should make any difference.  Now I have a bog standard iview
thats based on the com.sap.km.cm.docs pointing at the appropriate xml file - the path is the same as above.  This iview
exists on a page that has a number of other iviews.
The problem is that periodically I get a server 500 error - a browser refresh ALWAYS makes the problem dissapear and the
content is then displayed in the correct manner.  This is not an isolated case, any iview I create based on the same
master and using an XSLT filter to transform some XML content displayes the same behaviour.  To test this I have disabled the XSLT filter and the iview always displays the XML -- all the time everytime leading me to believe that its something to do with the application of the filter ?
Has anyone else come across this issue before and can point me in the right direction.
    Thanks
    Haydn

Having been right around the houses now - im confident that both the XSL file and indeed the XML file are correctly constructed and under normal conditions work fine.
The problem appears to be the CM repository (FSDB mode) being used.  It appears that once an XML file has been changed in the filesystem for whatever reason the first read ALWAYS results in a 500 being thrown.  Subsequent reads are 100% successful until the file is updated again - then the same process begins again.
What is even stranger is that if I create a brand new file in the directory (not in portal ui but direct in the FS) I cannot see it in the repository.  BUT if I construct a url to access it in a fresh browser window (which btw works fine) then a refresh of the KM explorer then shows the file - weird huh ?  Of course any actions that occur using the portal UI are also 100% successful.
If I dont use a CM repository and just use a plain ordinary file system repository - it works faultlessly.

  • Is it possible to Email document into KM

We are trying to streamline a manual process where a user has to log into our Portal and deposit files in specific folders for use by other users.
Is there a way to email a document directly into a KM Folder?  Thanks for any ideas on this.

    Hi Kenneth,
There is no such interface by default. You would have to implement this on your own, which includes the mail server access etc pp.
It might make more sense to put these documents in some fileserver store or whatever which, if not included into KM directly (FS repository or CM repository FSDB), is grabbed by some (less sophisticated compared to the mail approach) own implementation and put at the right point into KM.
    Hope it helps

  • Folder in CM Respositry

    Hi.
I have a new CM repository. I can read, upload, versioning, etc... but I have a problem,  a big problem.
I can create new folder from my Iview or my KM system. This folder is create on the external system (windows)  but from KM or my Iview i cann´t  see this folder.
    What can I do?
    Thank you

    Hi Francisco,
check your CM repository settings if you did activate the parameter "Disable Automatic FSDB Synchronization". If it's set to YES, than your changes that are made directly in the file system will not be imediately visible in the portal as you can read <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/62/468698a8e611d5993600508b6b8b11/content.htm">here</a>. In order to make these changes visible in the portal, you can use a report to start file system synchronization manually (see <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/83d1f7229c5965e10000000a422035/content.htm">CM Repository FSDB Synchronization</a>.

No Security Manager is set to my FSDB repository.
It is not related to viiew. In the KM content when I navigate to details->Settings of my repository, I am not getting the Permission and also Manual Order option.

  • Switch KM repository from FSDB to DB

I want to know if anybody has tried to switch a FSDB repository to DB.
SAP documentation says that this is not possible in "Subsequent Change to the Persistence Mode", but what I want to do is export all content of my FSDB repository, create a new one of type DB, and then import all content on it.
Has anybody been success with this before?
    Thanks in advance,
    ESteve

    Hi ESteve,
What your really describing is not changing the persistence layer of an existing repository.  You want to delete the existing repository and create a new one.  The new one would have a different persistence layer.  This should work.  You will have to restart the portal between the delete step and the create step, unless you use a different name.
    Best regards,
    Duncan

Any idea to make visible in both instances ?
    Thanks in advance
    Jose Monsalve

    Hi Ray,
Deploying a repository manager means a hot KM deployment, which isn't supported at all, see https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/bb1f18be-0801-0010-ffa0-e3495f7401bc and SAP note 894884. After such a deployment, the KM is restarted, but you have some kind of "shadow KM" in memory, which leads for most things to an unpredictable behaviour.
In contrast to the documents reffered to above, also the standard KM delivery from SAP still behaves in an uncontrolled way for many issues.
That's why after a KM hot deployment, you should restart your server if you realize anything "unusual". A workaround is to debug your code and using the hot code replacement feature (which only works in some situations, but that's better than nothing...).
    Hope it helps
