Set Packages in MI 2.5

hi all,
i am trying to create setup packages in MI 2.5 but i stuck up some where  ,according to documentation  i have to paste some files cabwiz.ddf ,  cabwiz.exe , makecab.exe in to the direcotry directory containing the file makecab.bat.
but i dont know , from where is the  makecab.bat file directory i have those 3 files.I have installed "Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK" and Visual studio 2005.
Thanks & Regards
Sandeep Verma

Hi Sandeep
   I mistook your question.  The makecab.bat file is not delivered by Microsoft but is delivered by SAP.  You can find this file in the NWMClient.sca file under the uncomp folder structure for JSP Wince. Also refer to link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/13/79e772c9171b41a0a60a999a6c96aa/frameset.htm for next steps.
Its always better and advicable to use 2005 SDK for 2005 devices and 2003 SDK for 2003 based devices though they may not cause any issues.
Hope this helps.

  • Error trying to run SSIS Package via SQL Server Agent: DTExec: Could not set \Package.Variables[User::VarObjectDataSet].Properties[Value] value to System.Object

    Situation:
    SSIS Package designed in SQL Server 2012 - SQL Server Data Tools
    Windows 7 - 64 bit.
    The package (32 bit) extracts data from a SQL Server db to an Excel Output file, via an OLE DB connection.
    It uses 3 package variables:
    *) SQLCommand (String) to specify the SQL Statement to be executed by the package
    Property path: \Package.Variables[User::ExcelOutputFile].Properties[Value]
    Value: f:\Output Data.xls
    *) EXCELOutputFIle (String) to specify path and filename of the Excel output file
    Property path: \Package.Variables[User::SQLCommand].Properties[Value]
    Value: select * from CartOrder
    *) VarObjectDataSet (Object) to hold the data returned by SQL Server)
    Property path: \Package.Variables[User::VarObjectDataSet].Properties[Value]
    Value: System.Object
    It consists out of 2 components:
    *) Execute SQL Task: executes the SQL Statement passed on via a package variable. The resultng rows are stored in the package variable VarObjectDataSet
    *) Script Task: creates the physical output file and iterates VarObjectDataSet to populate the Excel file.
    Outcome and issue:The package runs perfectly fine both in SQL Server Data Tools itself and in DTEXECUI.
    However, whenever I run it via SQL Server Agent (with 32 bit runtime option set), it returns the errror message below.
    This package contains 3 package variables but the error stating that a package variable can not be set, pops up for the VarObjectDataSet only.  This makes me wonder if it is uberhaupt possible to set the value of a package variable
    of type Object.
    Can anybody help me on this please ?

    Hi Visakh,
    thank you for your reply.
    So, judging by your reply, not all package variables used inside a package need to be set a value for when run in DTEXEC ?
    I already tried that but my package ended up in error (something to do with "... invocation ...." and that error is anything but clearly documented. Judging by the error message itself, it looks like it could be just about anything. that is why I asked my
    first question about the object type package variable.
    Now, I will remove it from the 'set values' list and try another go cracking the unclear error-message " ... invocation ...". Does an error message about " ... invocation ..." ring any bells, now that we are talking about it here ?
    Thx in advance
    Jurgen
    Yes exactly
    You need to set values only forthem which needs to be controlled from outside the package
    Any variable which gets its value through expression set inside package or through a query inside execute sql task/script task can be ignored from DTExec
    Ok I've seen the invocation error mostly inside script task. This may be because some error inside script written in script task. If it appeared after you removed the variable then it may because some reference of variable existing within script task.
    Please Mark This As Answer if it helps to solve the issue Visakh ---------------------------- http://visakhm.blogspot.com/ https://www.facebook.com/VmBlogs

  • Need you help !!! -- How to set PACKAGE SIZE in CURSOR?

    Dear experts:
    Does anybody know how to set the package size if you use cursor in your abap program?
    My scenario is to select all the data from MARA table in which the data volumn is very big, and then process for some specific logic. When I try to select them into one internal table or use CURSOR without package, my abap program will abort after running for around 1 hour. So I was thinking if I can use cursor and set the PACKAGE SIZE like 10,000 and process the data by batch.
    Here is my sample code:
    OPEN CURSOR: CUR_MARA_TBL FOR
    SELECT * FROM MARA.
    DO.
    FETCH NEXT CURSOR CUR_MARA_TBL INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF WA_MARA_TBL.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
    ......Detail logic......
    ENDIF.
    ENDDO.
    I would appreciate if anybody can let me know how to set the package size based on the sample code above, or any webpage/article about that.
    Any reply would be appreciated and thank you all in advance!

    The Spark List's layout property has the requestedRowCount and requestedMinRowCount properties.
    You can either set a new layout property on your List like this:
    <s:List>
            <s:layout>
                <s:VerticalLayout requestedMinRowCount="1" />
            </s:layout>
        </s:List>
    or reskin the List and modify the VerticalLayout in your copy of ListSkin.

  • How to set packages and classpath

    Hi,
    I want to know about packages and classpath. I have these questions
    1, If I put a class in a package(work.util) is it necessary to put the java file in the same directory/directory hierarchy as mentioned in the package declaration. I have to compile this class, run it from main method and must be able for other classes to import.
    2. If a package have subpackages(work.util.db) do I have to set the classpath to subdirectory also to run that class.
    3. If a class is in package is it possible to run the class without prefixing the package name. I need to do this in the text editor so that I can run any program by pressing a hot key.

    1, If I put a class in a package(work.util) is it
    necessary to put the java file in the same
    directory/directory hierarchy as mentioned in the
    package declaration.Strictly speaking, this isn't covered by the spec - it depends on what compiler and ClassLoader you are using. If you're using Sun's JDK, then yes.
    2. If a package have subpackages(work.util.db) do I
    have to set the classpath to subdirectory also to run
    that class. No. You should add the directory above work/util/db to your classpath. You should not add work, or work/util or work/util/db.
    E.g., if your Java files are in C:/MyProject/JavaSrc/work/util/db, and the package name is work.util.db, then you should have C:/MyProject/JavaSrc on your classpath (or have "." (dot) on your classpath, and compile and run from that same directory).
    3. If a class is in package is it possible to run the
    class without prefixing the package name. I need to do
    this in the text editor so that I can run any program
    by pressing a hot key.If you mean "in order to run work.util.db.Main do I need to type java work.util.db.Main, or just java Main", then you do indeed need the fully qualified class name (otherwise, how would the runtime environment know which class you mean? - there could be any number of classes called Main in any class, and it would have to search every directory and subdirectory on your classpath to find them.

  • Set package in classpath?

    Hi, I am wondering how to set the jar file containing the package (org.ccil.cowan.sax.*) in my classpath ? Do I need to download anything first? HELP!!!!

    Setting the Classpath:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/windows/classpath.html
    [NOTE: always start your classpath with ".;" which means the current directory]
    How Classes are Found:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/findingclasses.html
    Of course, the jar must exist somewhere in your computer file system; its location and name (ie, the full path spec) is what you use to create the classpath entry.

  • Running SSIS Package from SQL Job - with Set Values, a string containing";"

    Can anybody help with this problem please?
    I’m using “set value” in SQL agent to pass in an email address to my SSIS package, if I put in a value of:
    [email protected]
    It works fine, but if I attempt to input multiple email addresses it fails
    [email protected];[email protected]
    It doesn’t appear to like the “;”.
    Any ideas anyone???
    BoroFC

    Hi Jamie, many thanks for the response.
    If I look at my command line table when Email = [email protected], it looks like:
    /SET "\package.Variables[EmailAddress].Value";"[email protected]" /REPORTING E
    If I change the value to “[email protected];[email protected]”, it looks like:
    /SET "\package.Variables[EmailAddress].Value";"\""" [email protected];"" [email protected] ""\"" /REPORTING E
    But the weird thing is, if I close the job properties window and re-open it again, I lose this line from my set values screen all together!!!
    Help ???

  • SISS package output using DTEXEC command

    Hello,
    I need a help in executing SISS package using DTEXEC command
    Here is the command i use
    DTEXEC.EXE /F "C:\\excel_to_table.dtsx" /set \package.variables[filepath].Value;"C:\sample.xlsx" /set \package.variables[servername].Value;"000.000.000.0" /set \package.variables[database].Value;"Databasename" /set \package.variables[username].Value;"username" /set \package.variables[password].Value;"password"
    In the package, I'm inserting the rows into a table. Now i want to display the number of records imported and number of  duplicate records. Is it possible to get the values and display as result in command prompt.
    Please advice.
    Thanks,
    Venkat.
    Best Regards, Venkat

    Hi Venkat,
    According to your description, you want to display the row count information in the result of the DTEXEC commands in the Command Prompt. If so, this cannot be done through the DTEXEC utility.
    If you can run other commands after the DTEXEC commands, you can first store the row count information to a SQL Server table using the methods posted by Jay and Visakh, and then run sqlcmd commands to display the data of a SQL Server table like:
    sqlcmd -S localhost -d TestDB -Q "SELECT * FROM MyTable"

    So everything seems to be building correctly now, but not executing correctly.  Also, there are still a number of properties that are not being set:
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    report:
    Skipped because property 'build.report' not set.
    instrument-compile:

    package-instrument:
    Skipped because property 'build.instrument' not set.
    pmdReport:
    Skipped because property 'build.pmd' not set.
    Where should these values be set and what are appropriate values?  What could be causing the socket timeout and what exactly is it waiting for or attempting to accomplish with the sockets?
    The end goal is to be able to use the flex SDK, flexunit and ANT on a linux server to automate my build/test process.  I am currently just trying to get ANT to work with the flex SDK and flexunit on a windows XP box so I can see what the output should be and how the whole system works before trying to inject it into my CI system.

  • SSIS Package execution error from powershell

    Hi I have written a powershell script to exec SSIS packages. I am passing variable values at runtime by reading it from a text file.
    But it throws an error.
    Here is my script.

    Please help as I a noob in any kind of scripting.

    I did but it just printed the entire string on the command line and assigned all the values.

  • MS SSIS command line call "Argument for option 'set' is not valid"

    Hi all,
    I'm tring to execute a SSIS package from command line. Here's the code:
    dtexec.exe /file "E:\TestIS\IntegrationServicesProject1\IntegrationServicesProject1\Package.dtsx" /set \Package.Variables[User::Name].Properties[Value];20150314
    and it return a error saying  "Argument for option 'set' is not valid". I've configure the package and generated a XML file. And do exactly as the official doc says. However, this line of code just doesn't work. If I delete the set option
    and run the package alone, it can be ran. So anyone can help me out? Thank you in advance.

    Hi NoahdeArk,
    In SQL Server Integration Services, string literals must be enclosed in quotation marks. The expression language provides a set of escape sequences for commonly escaped characters such as nonprinting characters and quotation marks. A string literal consists
    of zero or more characters surrounded by quotation marks. If a string contains quotation marks, these must be escaped in order for the expression to parse. For more details, please see:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141001.aspx
    So to troubleshoot this issue, please refer to the following command:
    dtexec.exe /file "E:\TestIS\IntegrationServicesProject1\IntegrationServicesProject1\Package.dtsx" /set \Package.Variables[User::Name].Properties[Value]; \"20150314\"
    Or
    dtexec.exe /file "E:\TestIS\IntegrationServicesProject1\IntegrationServicesProject1\Package.dtsx" /set \Package.Variables[User::Name].Properties[Value]; \""20150314"\"

  • Error with Project Parameters when executing the package with dtexec command

    Hi,
    We have started migrating our SSIS package from 2005 version to SSIS 2012. In SSIS 2005 we were using XML configuration files and executing the packages with dtexec command from the packages folder (without deploying packages to filesystem).
    Now in SSIS 2012, we have seen Project Parameters and created couple of package parameters and used those parameters in the package. when executing this package from solution explorer it was working fine but when i try to execute the same package from command
    line with Dtexec command, it was showing an error message of 'Not able to map Project Prameters to configurations'.
    Could you please give me an idea of how to execute the packages from command line by using dtexex command. basically i would like use project parameters in 2012 similar to configurations?
    Thanks,
    Venu.

    Refer
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/hh231187.aspx
    you can pass parameter like this
    /SET \Package.Variables[$Package::ParameterName];<value> /SET \Package.Variables[$Project::ParameterName];<value>

  • 7u45: MacOS X: Deployment Rule Set not found?

    Per the Deployment Rule Set packaging instructions:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/deployment_rules.html#package
    "Install the DeploymentRuleSet.jar file on your users' systems in the following directories:
    On Windows platforms, install the file in the <Windows-directory>\Sun\Java\Deployment directory, for example, c:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment.
    On Mac OS X and UNIX platforms, install the file in the /etc/.java/deployment directory.
    To view the active rule set, see the Security section of Java Control Panel."
    I am able to use and view the rule set on Windows and Linux platforms, but the deployment rule set is not seen under MacOS X (10.9 Mavericks).
    I placed it in:
    /etc/.java/deployment/DeploymentRuleSet.jar and yes, it is properly signed, in the correct format, etc. Identical file works fine under Windows and Linux.
    Anyone else have this issue?

    Hurray!! I finally found out how to get the JCP to display the DeployementRuleSet.jar file.
    The path in the documentation (/etc/.java/deployment) is wrong (at least on Mac OSX 10.7.5)!.
    I went through the decompilation of the ControlPanel source code, and found out that the expected path for the jar file is
    /Library/Application Support/Oracle/Java/Deployment
    Note:The Deployment directory has to be created
