Setting editingMode (table's property) through a button pressing

Hello ereryone.
I'm using jDev 11.1.2.3
I have an af:table and set editingMode=clickToEdit.
It would be nice if there were a button before the table that actually controls that property. So, the user selects one row and then presses the button and the code in there sets the editingMode to clickToEdit and makes the record editable.
The problem is that I don't have a clue how to do this! How the code should be like.
Can anyone provide with a tip, a use case... etc ?
Your input is highly appreciated.

Anything? please...

  • Setting the Varinace Reporting Property Through Load Rule

    Hi,
    I have built a Dimension build rule to build the accounts dimension(Parent Child) and also the Properties like "Data Stroage" and "variance reporting Expense" and also UDA.The dimension is getting build perfectly and also the "data Storage" property and UDA but the "Varinace reporting property" is not set even though the load rule is perfect and also i see the success message while loading.
    I reviwed the Member Property Codes and it is given as
    E      Treat as an expense item (applies to accounts dimensions only)
    and i am using the same.
    the build rule is as follows:
    Parent0 Accounts,Child0 Accounts,Alias0 Accounts,Property0 Accounts,UDA0 Accounts,Property1 Accounts.
    i know i am missing some thing,kinldy advice.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I just now reviewed and fixed the issue.First i changed the the file to Property0 accounts and secondly in the Global Properties i have to select the case as "Original".after doing the changes i saved the rule and loaded the file.The Variance reporting Property is perfect.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Looping through a table Help needed ....Forms 10g..... When Button Pressed

    Hye craig, hamid, christian and all ...........
    i have a user access interface which i create where there are two fields username and password and a button,
    i have also created a table USERS for users which have username and password fields ..... On useraccess interface i coded on WHEN BUTTON PRESSED like this
    declare
    go_block('users');
    execute_query;
    declare
    begin
         if :useraccess.username=:users.username and
              :useraccess.password=:users.password then
              go_block('MAINPAGE');
              else
              go_block('USERACCESS');
              MESSAGE('SORRY WRONG PASSWORD OR NOT A REGISTERED USER');
              MESSAGE('SORRY WRONG PASSWORD OR NOT A REGISTERED USER');
              end if;
    end;
    This code works for a single user in USERS table but for multiple users there has to be some looping system
    which matches the USERACCESS and USERS tables fields thoroughly ....

    Hi Majid,
    I can suggest you a workaround for this. raise a ON-LOGON trigger and you can use the LOGON_SCREEN builtin to flash the logon screen at runtime. And then try capturing the username and password.
    DECLARE
      connected BOOLEAN := FALSE;
      tries     NUMBER  := 3;
      un        VARCHAR2(30);
      pw        VARCHAR2(30);
      cs        VARCHAR2(30);
    BEGIN
      SET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY(CURSOR_STYLE, 'DEFAULT');
      WHILE connected = FALSE and tries > 0
      LOOP
        LOGON_SCREEN;
        un := GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY( USERNAME );
        pw := GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY( PASSWORD );
        cs := GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY( CONNECT_STRING );
        LOGON( un, pw || '@' || cs, FALSE );
        IF FORM_SUCCESS
        THEN
          connected := TRUE ;
        END IF;
        tries := tries - 1;
      END LOOP;
      IF NOT CONNECTED THEN
        MESSAGE('Too many tries!');
        RAISE FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE ;
      END IF;
    END ;   a sample piece of coding to help you out.

  • Setting property on radio button status

    Hello guyz,
    I am using oracle form 6i and new to it.
    I am having three radio buttons ACCEPT, HOLD and CANCEL. When the user selects the ACCEPT radio button, once the state of radio button is saved on a button press(the code already written and working)to ACCPET, the user should not be able to make any changes to the status of radio buttons for that current form session and the next form session post querying.
    While the user can make changes to the state of radio buttons, if the radio buttons are on HOLD or CANCEL respectively for the current form session and the next form session post querying.
    Please help as it is urgent.

    If I understand this correctly, then this is the same as: once you selected ACCEPT, you cannot change it anymore. At least, that is what I make of the bit cryptic " the next form session post querying.".
    So, you just make the item non-updatabe when the value is ACCEPT. Of course, this will only work if the item is based on a column. Otherwise, you have no way of saving the state for another session.

    HI Kumar,
    Answer to your last post is "yes".
    Now to your doubt regarding the code:
    Hi Anna
    I am trying to understand your code.
    FireAction firePartialAction = new FirePartialAction("fireHideEvent"+(i/noOfTlaColSpan));
    HideImgBean.setAttributeValue(PRIMARY_CLIENT_ACTION_ATTR,firePartialAction);
    1. What is this i/noOfTlaColSpan ?
    :)Forget abt this in your case it should be the event name which u r firing and capturing the it in the PFR.
    Like FireAction firePartialAction = new FirePartialAction("YOurEventName");
    and in PFR u can capture tht as:
    if("YOurEventName".equals(pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM)))
    //your logic to invoke AM method
    2. I believe this HideImgBean would be MessageChoice for me?
    :)Yep ur right
    3. This brcdOhInventoryViewUpdateVOImpl would be the Custom PVO(Extending Seeded Base VO)
    I create by adding the transient attributes?
    :)Yep ur right
    4. I cannot understand this code. Could you explain.
    :)Please look at my comments in some of the lines .I have explained wht i am doing
    if(updateIter==null)
    updateIter[0]= invViewVO.createRowSetIterator("updateIter");//This initViewVo should be ur custom VO object
    if(cnt>0)
    updateIter[0].setRangeStart(0);
    updateIter[0].setRangeSize(cnt);
    for(int i=0;i<cnt;i++)
    row = (brcdOhInventoryViewUpdateVORowImpl)updateIter[0].getRowAtRangeIndex(i);
    String selectFlag=(String)row.invokeMethod("getPartNumber");//This getPartNuber should be replaced by the Prim Key inoke methd of ur VO
    if(RowID.equals(selectFlag))
    //This is my logic to set the transient attributes based on the msgChoiceBean value ..u have to pass the value when u invoke this method
    if(reserveMethod.equals("BINARY"))
    System.out.println("In Binary");
    Boolean bVal= new Boolean("false");
    Serializable sr[]={bVal};
    Class []methodParamTypes = { bVal.getClass() };
    row.invokeMethod("setshowreservetxt",sr,methodParamTypes);
    Boolean bVal1= new Boolean("true");
    System.out.println("bVal1"+bVal1);
    Serializable sr1[]={bVal1};
    Class []methodParamTypes1 = { bVal1.getClass() };
    row.invokeMethod("setShowreservemsgchoice",sr1,methodParamTypes1);
    break;
    In my AM I am doing this. Am i doing right?:)Yep u r right
    BioPrescribersPVO is the custom VO(extending seeded base VO).
    public void handlePositionChangeEvent(String param)
    OAViewObject vo = (OAViewObject)findViewObject("BioPrescribersPVO");

    row.setAttribute("BioPresManagerRender", Boolean.FALSE);
    else
    row.setAttribute("BioEmpManagerRender", Boolean.FALSE);
    row.setAttribute("BioPresManagerRender", Boolean.TRUE);
    } // end handlePositionChangeEvent()
    // Initializing the custom VO
    /*No need to initialize the VO because this is not a PVO(Propeties View object)
    U r just using the existing VO and tht vo shloud have a primary key.Tht way u can match the rowref u r getting with the actual row from the View object*/
    public void init()
    OAViewObject appPropsVO = (OAViewObject)getBioPrescribersPVO();
    if (appPropsVO != null)
    if (appPropsVO.getFetchedRowCount() == 0)
    appPropsVO.setMaxFetchSize(0); appPropsVO.executeQuery();
    appPropsVO.insertRow(appPropsVO.createRow());
    OARow row = (OARow)appPropsVO.first();
    row.setAttribute("RowKey", new Number(1));
    handlePositionChangeEvent("");

  • Table not updating while command button is held down

    Hi guys,
    My application obtains data and then outputs this into a table which updates after each set of data is read. This part works fine, however I also require the user to be able to hold down one of two buttons to control control the function of an actuator (forwards and rearwards). To explain this further, when one of these buttons are pressed a voltage is output, when released the voltage is reset to zero. However, while the button is held down the table does not continue to update, when the button is released the table then updates through all the queued values. I understand that this is most likely a problem with the holding of the button causing the other user interface events to not be processed. I have therefore tried using ProcessSystemEvents(), ProcessDrawEvents(), and experimented with using an async timer to control the updating of the UI through the use of PostDeferredCallback(), all without success.
    If anyone can help with a solution that would allow me to perform both of these required functions simultaneously it would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance
    Ben
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Could you use a toggle button instead of a simple button to be hold down? If yes, then in the button callback you could simple test the value of the toggle (1 if pressed, 0 if released) and operate turn on/off the output voltage to the actuator. You'll have a commit event every time the operator changes button state. (you may need to apply some security limit switch or timeput on the control in case the user forgets to turn the toggle off: the situation is similar to a three-state switch that controls a motorized window blind).
    Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

  • How do I set the environment to change outputs when I press a button?

    Hi guys!
    This is a question for the Logic pros:
    How do I set up my environment so that when I press a Button on my Midi Controller the Outputs from the Master Channel switch from 1-2 to 3-4 (to hear my music through different loudspeakers)???
    Does somebody know how to do that?
    Thank you in advance!
    Greetings from Germany

    The easiest way is to route your mix to all the outputs you're using. Then set up fader objects in the env that transform toggled cc's from your keyboard switches. Cable those fader objects to the output channel objects. To toggle the Mute on an output channel you'll need to send it a fader message #9, value 0 or 1, on channel 1.
    That would work, as long as you have switches on your keyboard that can transmit toggled cc's.

  • How to copy a set of tables from a database to another periodically?

    We have a 4 node RAC primary database(10.2.0.2) with a physical standby(10.2.0.2) on our production site. Offlate we noticed that one of the applications(APP2) is causing heavy loads due large data downloads on the primary database servers. Our primary database has 2 schemas,
    1) one being the main schema with all objects, (USER1)
    2) and the other has views that query some set of tables from the main schema. (USER2)
    The application APP2 uses USER2 views to query and download huge data periodically. We need to be able to give accurate data results to APP2, but in the same time take off the load from the database, as APP2 is not our main application.
    We would like to know if there are any cost effective options in oracle to do this, and if so, what is the best option? Anyone has any experience setting up something like this before?
    We have thought of creating another 10.2.0.2 database on a different server and giving it regular updates(like data feeds) from the current database. The current database data changes quiet often, so the data feeds would have to be done often to keep the data current on the new database. So, we are not exactly sure how to go about it. Would a COPY command help?
    Please advice.

    user623066 wrote:
    Our 4 node RAC is already busy with our main application, which has its connections spread across all 4 nodes.
    Our main applications services are the same on all nodes and use all 4 nodes in the same way.
    There are some other utilities that we run from one of the app servers that connect to only 1 of the nodes.
    APP2 uses all 4 servers, which is again controlled by connection pooling and distributes the load.Wouldn't separate services be more beneficial here? If APP2 is locked down to one node during normal operation, that ensures that other connections aren't going to be competing for hardware with APP2 on 3 of the 4 nodes. If APP2 is generating less than 25% of the total load, you can let the other applications use whatever hardware resources are left idle on the node APP2 is locked down to.
    By Large data downloads, I meant both increase in network traffic and the CPU load on the database nodes.
    We are already using resouce manager to limit the resources allocated to USER2 that APP2 uses.
    And we have also limited the large downloads to take place in the early hours of the day when the traffic from our main application is less.
    But this has still not been optimal for the usage requirements for APP2. APP2 is also doing queries all through the day, but has a limit for the number of rows downloaded during peak hours.Can you explain a bit more about why using Resource Manager hasn't been sufficient? That's normally a pretty good way to prevent one hungry user from drastically affecting everyone else. Perhaps you just need to tweak the configuration here.
    Logical Standby seems a good option. But we need to keep our physical standby in place. Is it possible to have a logical standby and a physical standby? (ofcourse on separate servers)Sure. You can have as many standby servers of whatever type you'd like.
    Could we use a COPY command to copy data for the set of tables to a new database? Or is that also a complex option?You could, yes. COPY is a SQL*Plus command that has been depricated for copying data between Oracle databases for quite a while. It only works from SQL*Plus and would only be designed for one-time operations (i.e. there is no incremental COPY command). I can just about guarantee that's not what you want here.
    How do materialized views work? Wouldn't they still reside on the main database? Or is it possible to have remote materialized views?You probably don't want materialized views, but if you decide to go down that path
    - You'd create materialized view logs on the base tables to track changes
    - You'd create materialized views on the destination database that select data over a database link back to the source database
    - You'd put those materialized views into one or more refresh groups that are scheduled to refresh periodically
    - During a refresh, assuming incremental refreshes, the materialized view logs would be read and applied to the materialized views on the destination system to update the materialized views.

    Hi,
    Is it a publishing page? If yes can you try the PowerShell scripts corresponding to the following code snippet?

  • How to set "Maximum Lenght" column property for database block at RUNTIME?

    Hi folks,
    Is it possible to somehow set a "Maximum Length" property for database block column at runtime?
    I have a dynamic form, which maintains mostly "STATIC DATA" within all application which are stored in different static data tables (which have similar structure). But now, description column in some of those tables was extended (not in all at this stage). I would like to avoid truncating form error while reading data from those extended tables, so I would like to set an MAXIMUM SIZE to accurate value at the time when I'm specifying TABLE NAME for that database block.
    What property should I use to set it?
       -- before executing query in "MAIN_BLOCK" I always set QUERY_DATA_SOURCE_NAME to user defined value => STATIC DATA TABLE name
       Set_block_Property('MAIN_BLOCK',QUERY_DATA_SOURCE_NAME,:control.table_name);
       Set_block_Property('MAIN_BLOCK',DML_DATA_TARGET_NAME,:control.table_name);
       -- here I would like to set also MAXIMUM LENGHT for particular column (based on some condition, etc.. correct value I can get from ALL_TAB_COLS dictionary
       SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('MAIN_BLOCK.DESCRIPTION', <<XXXXXXX>>, 300);What should I use instead of "<<XXXXXXX>>" if I want to overwrite MAIN_BLOCK.DESCRIPTION column's maximum length to 300?
    Thanks,
    Tomas

    Hi Magoo, thanks for reply.
    Yes, but then user can get other errors while trying to set description with value longer than in database (for all not extended tables).
    Aby idea how to implement SET_CUSTOM_PROPERTY like mentioned here?
    Oracle Forms - "maximum length" property.

  • How to set a HTML color to a control button

    How to set a fixed color to a disabled button?

I tried to send the hex number 'BDBDBD' to the button property node 'color[4]' but was told that I was wiring to the wrong type of terminal.
    Could any one post a sample code of how to construct the structure of 'color[4]' using a RRGGBB number?

    What exectly do you want and do you see.
    If I run the code you have in LabVIEW 9.0, I get the following result after running.
    For convenience I have shown the second color array you set as color indicators:
    Note that you use grey as the colors for True and False
    Here I have set made the colors more distinct:

  • Problem about fill set up table

    Hi all,
    I got a problem when I run the fill set up table for sales billing data source. what I did is:
    first delete the setup table then oli9bw->type in a sales document no.(as I only want this order data), then give a run name, last execute, but I got the message as follow:
    Data source 2LIS_13_VDITM contains data still to be transferred
    Could you pls explain what this means, and what should I do to solve the problem
    Thanks

    Set up table definition
    Setup table is store the historical data, where as the delta records are updated in delta queue not to set up table.
    So once historical data is loaded you can delete the contents of the set up table.
    name is extract sturcture of your data source + setup
    also data is taken from setup table when an init / full/ full repair load is done.
    so in order to take ur records from the table delete the setup table(LBWG) and initialize it with ur records.

    LBWQ is the extraction queue and RSA7 is delta queue. Data is sent to delta queue from extraction queue through collective job scheduled in transaction LBWE.
    when we want to extract the data using LO Cockpit, the data will be come to the extraction queue first and from there it will processed to the delta queue. SO lbwq works as a outbound queue.
    If the update mode is Unserialised V3 then as soon as the document is posted it comes update table which you can see in Tr. Code SM13. After the jonb is scheduled the records come to RSA7 i.e delta queue from which BW pulls the data
    If you use u201CQueued Deltau201Dupdate method then the data moves to Extraction queue(LBWQ). Then run Collective update to move the data from LBWQ into Delta Queue (RSA7). Then schedule the data using the infopackage by selecting Delta Load in the update tab.
    So in If you are going to do Setup table filling, delete the data from LBWQ.
    The usage of Extraction queue(LBWQ) comes in to picture in delta loading. But actually system starts collecting the data (whenever there is document creation in R/3) after activating the EXtraction structure.
    Steps to Be Performed
    We know that there are 4 types of delta extraction that are available in LO. If you use u201CQueued Deltau201Dupdate method then the data moves to Extraction queue(LBWQ). Then run Collective update to move the data from LBWQ into Delta Queue (RSA7). Then schedule the data using the infopackage by selecting Delta Load in the update tab.

  • Purchasing - Set Up Table in source system - LBWG

    Hi all,
    Currently we are extracting Purchasing data into BI7, and have a large volume already which has been delta'd across.
    We need to apply some notes to the Source System which involve deleting the data out of the set-up table, trnx LBWG.
    Can anyone tell me what the impact of this will have on the deltas being run in BI7...and what steps if any I would need to take?
    Thanks, Lee

    Hi Lee,
    Setting up of set up table is one time activity in general scenario.
    Once setup table data population is done , load data into BW through initialization option . If this init request gets in to status "Green" , then on you dont need to refer to data in setup table .
    As per the wish / space constraint one may keep / delete the setup table data.

  • How to edit a particular row in the table ctrl when a push button is clickd

    Hi Experts,
    How to edit a particular row (except the Primary keys) after selecting it in the TABLE CONTROL when a
    push button is clicked in the table control.
    For Eg. If you have a push button say "Modify", the particular row what we select in the table control should be in a
    editable mode after clicking "Modify" Push button.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Ram,
    Thanks a ton.
    Its working fine...sorry for the late reply.
    The reason behind the delay is because i had modified my code as per your logic it worked fine but the thing is that the whole column was in editable mode but not a single row.
    For E.g  If i want to edit a particular row, first i select the row and then  click on "Modify" button. After i click on the button, the whole column gets in a editable mode including the one which i intentionally selected.
    Here, the solution is that you have to set a flag in PBO so that once it is done with PBO then it need not come back again after we click on "Modify" button.
    And one more query is that after you modify a particular row in the table control ( When it is in editable mode) and click on the "Save" button, it is not getting updated to database.
    To update the database, we need to select the row once again after modifying it and click on the "Save" button.
    Here, database is updating only when it is selected again. If it is not selected, it is not getting updated.
    If you have any alternative solution, then please help me out.( I hope i am clear with the question.)
    Thanks,
    Ananth.
