Setting fixed height in Crystal Reports sections
Hi,
I want to set the height of detail section in crystal report. I want to set the details section such that it must at the most accommodate 10 records in the section.
If I have only 2 records in the section, it should show 8 empty lines.
If I have more than 25 records in the section, the remaining 15 records will be placed on the next page.
After that, the footer will be printed at the end of it.
Is this possible?

Try this:
1. You can also create a SQL expression field or use a subreport to read how many records that it returns.
2. Have 10 detail section; and
3. In each section, put in all fields; and
4. Have a running total in each section; and
5. For each field in the section, you suppress based on the running total; and
6. Do not suppress blank section; and
7. Set new page if the running total is more than > 10

Rajeswari.There are no BI / CR APIs that would do this for you. The way I see it, you'll have to have your own print button and populate it with the correct printer information for each user as they request the report. Of course, alternatively, use the viewer printer button and get the users to choose the correct printer.

Setting Page size in crystal report

I have designed a report for cheque. I have set the page size as 3 inches breadh and 8 inches length. When I preview the report crystal report designer it is showing as per the dimension i mentioned above. But when I open the report in my application it is showing in the A4 size. My application is developed in java. How to set formula field in crystal report

I develope the code in C#.NET and use SAP B1 2004C. I have a problem with crystal report. I have in crystal report one unbound field. This field is string type. I need in my code change value of this field to another text ex. ("test").

I've never tried to change a field of the report directly. Maybe it would solve the problem if you make a parameter field, which you can use in the formula.
You can set then the parameter field: report.SetParameterValue("NameOfParam", valueOfParam);

How to set relative position in Crystal Reports
Hi
We are using CR XI R2 for designing crystal reports and Oracle 9i as datasource.
we have placed 5 columns in vertical position next to one another in details section.
for ex
Salesrevenue
Company description
SalesSummary
as data fetch is dynamic whenver data in 'Sales revenue' is more it is overlapping on 'Company description' column
and so on with 'Sales summary' too.
I know that Relative postion works only when columns are placed in ROW MANNER i.e
Salesrevenue||Company description||SalesSummary but doesn't work when placed in the above manner.
Please let me know if there is any workround or any other option need to be configured to overcome this issue.

BSRRight click the report navigator(left of your report body under design mode), and then choose 'insert a new section below', this will insert a new detail section called 'details b', put the 'Company description' into that section and third one into another new detail section.
This will let you avoid the overlap issue.

Error while dynamically setting logo image in Crystal Report 2008
Hi,
We have embedded Crystal Report 2008 JRC in our web application which is an Enterprise Archive (EAR) deployed on WebSphere Application Server.
The RPT files bundulled in the archive displays a logo which is dynamicalli picked up by the RPT files from a configured location. Due to this the Report generation crashes when travesed to the sub reports/ groups within RPT. We have observed that this problem never occures if the logo is hard coded within the RPT files.
The report crashing causes another big problem, it crashes the Applciation Server too. This is major concern to us and we need a resolution to this problem.

How to set Command Timeout in Crystal report while calling from C# code
I am using Crystal report XI R2. I am calling SQL server 2005 stored procedure as source in the report. I want the report should timeout from the website if the stored procedure doesn't return resultset after 5 minute. Could you please assist how should I chnage the below code to achieve that.

How to set Excel Options using crystal reports 2008
Hi,
I am trying to figure out CR 8.5 (Crystal report control) Equivalents in Crystal reports 2008 using crystal report viewer in .Net but not able to find the exact replacments.
Properties used in CR 8.5
CRAXDRT.ExportOptions.ExcelUseWorksheetFunctions=True
CRAXDRT.ExportOptions.ExcelUseTabularFormat =True
CRAXDRT.ExportOptions.SetLogOnInfo(1,3,4,5)
Please let me know the replacements for the above mentioned properties in .Net using crystal report viewer (CR 2008)

The code that has been provided is of Report Designer Component.
RDC has been deprecated in Crystal Reports 2008.
Use the 'ExcelFormatOptions' class. It provides many options regarding exporting in an excel format.

Set As Default Crystal Report Layout in SAP B1 8.8 PL13
Hi,
I want to Set As Default a Crystal Report Layout. I know you can do that in Layout Desginer - Selection Criteria, but SAP B1 8.8 PL 13 has only a Manage Layout button in the Layout Desginer window which links to the Report and Layout Manager. There is no Set As Default button.
Where can you select which layout to be default in PL13?

If you want to Set as Default particular PLD then Open that Form
For. Example
Sales Ar > A/R Invocies (Item) document
Then Click on PLD icon ans select your crystal report as Default by Set as Defaul button.

Error:When adding RDC runtime library (Crystal report XI R2) to Lotus notes
Background : We have reporting feature implemented in one of lotus notes application using crystal reports 6 (OCX) and as Crystal report is going to be upgraded to CR XI version in my organisation, we need to implement the same using RDC component available in crystal XI . we have installed Crytal report XI R2 - SP 6 version for testing the integration.

Steps which have been outlined for adding runtime library in lotus domino application is shown below:-
1. In Domino Designer, add a Form to the application.
2. In the programmeru2019s pane, go to the (Declarations) handler of the Form and enter:
Dim App As Variant, Dim Rep As Variant
3. Select Create | Object and select the u201CControlu201D radio button in the u201CCreate Objectu201D dialog box that comes up. From the list of controls, select u201CCrystal Report Viewer Control.u201D This adds the control to the Form.
4. Click on the control and select Edit | Properties. In the u201CAppletu201D properties dialog, select the u201CSize object to fit windowu201D radio button and then close the properties dialog.
We are getting an error message while trying to add 'Crystal Report Viewer Control' control (illustated in Step 3 above) in the lotus notes form . Error message which we get is 'An error has occured while processing a request on an object'.
Alternatively , we created the object of Crystal Report Viewer on lotus notes form by adding viewer object file (Crviewer.dll) from the file system after selecting the u201CObject from a fileu201D radio button in the u201CCreate Objectu201D dialog box and added following code in the postopen event of lotus notes form .

Again, when lotus notes form is opened , it gives error 'Variant does not contain object' at 'Set m_Viewer.ReportSource = Rep' .
Can any one suggest us any workaround or if iit is not possible in CR XI R2 into a Lotus® Dominou2122 application. Also, can any one provide us sample code if CR 2008 version can be integatred with lotus notes.I believe, Lotus was never a "supported" development platform, though it did work - at one time or another. Eventually it did not and you are at that point. I think it was CR 10 where it started to be impossible to add the viewer to Lotus. This was never fixed and we never did find out if this was a Lotus thing or a CR thing.
Re. CR 2008 and Lotus. The RDC has been retired in CR 2008, so no luck there either for you. The only SDKs available in CR 2008 are for .NET and Java.

Report crashes, seems to be because of "Keep together"? (Crystal Report 9)
Hi,
We have a report that crashes when run on Crystal Reports 9. It only crashes when "something" on the page hits a limit, as if we remove one line from the data, it does not crash, and if we add one line, it does not crash.
We fixed a very similar report by removed "Keep Together" on a field, but this was not ticked for this field on this report. However, there are other fields that have Keep Together ticked, but they are supposed to keep together too...
I found this defect, and was wondering if this is present in 9 too (seeing as it's fixed in 10)? This says "Report Designer", but I guess it's meant that the report crashes when run??

The issue described in ADAPT00258586 covers CR8.5, CR9 and CR10. [Note 1217122 - CR 8.5 shuts down when a text object goes over 2 pages with Keep Together set|https://bosap-support.wdf.sap.corp/sap/support/notes/0001217122] discusses the different fixes that need to be applied for each version of Crystal Reports.
If you're seeing the issue in Crystal Reports itself (the designer) then you want to apply the "Main" patch. If you're seeing the issue at runtime in a VB6 application that uses the RDC then you'll want to apply the "Developer" patch.
You can find the "Developer" patch at the link listed in the Note since it still works:

You'll have to search for the "Main" patch since that link in the Note no longer works.
You can search for CR9 hot fixes and service packs from the [Business Objects Support Software Download page|http://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm]. Set the filters to Crystal Reports > Crystal Reports 9 > Hot Fix or Service Pack. Any of the later "cr90devwin_en" patches should have the fix, as should the later service packs. The [readme|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/sapidp/012002523100005987162008E/cr90mainwin_en.pdf] for [this version of the Main patch|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/sapidp/012002523100005987172008E/cr90mainwin_en.zip] shows that ADAPT00258586 was listed as being resolved, so it should work in resolving the issue.
Since the patch date is listed as being from 2004 it's also likely that some of the later Service Packs will pick up this fix as well. You can search on the same Software Download page for Service Packs if you want to test those as well.
