this.setViewportView(gp);
this.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(x,y));
this.scrollRectToVisible(0,y,10,10);

  • How to start from a specific point on the timeline

I have a horizontal list of image thumbnails, there are 21 thumbnails and only 7 are visible at one time and scrolls back and forth. It works fine.
However, when I choose an image that is not in the first seven, say the 8th image, the page loads and the thumbnails goes back to the beginning images (undesirable). When the 8th image page is shown I would like the thumbnails to start at the eigth image, NOT from the beginning again.
I had the animation positioned to the eight image for the start, with the first 7 off to the left and the second 7 off to the right. But when I saved and loaded it into the page, it just starts from the begining.
How can I start the thumbnails from a specific desired position, such as the 8th image or the 15th image depending on the page?
    Thank you for any help.

  • On my Mac Pro how can I get voiceover to start reading at a specific point on a document?, on my Mac Pro how can I get voiceover to start reading at a specific point on a document?

On my Mac Pro how can I get voiceover to start reading at a specific point in a document, and then continue on to the next paragraph and so on?  Thank you.  Ed

    Welcome to the Apple family!!!!
How can I cause the VO cursor(box) show-up/start?
Press Control-Option and F5.   The F5 key is located on the top row of keys 6th key over.  This is a toggling "Keyboard Shortcut" for turning VoiceOver on and off.
How can I move the VO cursor to various sentences or paragraphs of an article and have it start reading ... and perhaps even continue reading on to the next paragraph(s) ... even to the end of the article?
How to read a website with VoiceOver
Step 1:  Go to the Website
A quick keyboard shortcut is Command-L.  This will jump you up to the address bar.  Start typing where you want to go.  i.e "www.thewebsite.com"
    Step 2:  Working with Webpage
VoiceOver will automatically start reading the website.  You can pause the speech by hitting the 'Control Button'.
If VoiceOver does not being reading the webpage, then you might have to "Interact" with it.  If VoiceOver say "HTML Content" then press Control-Option-Space-Down Arrow to interact with the webpage.
Use Control-Option-Right Arrow to move throught the website.  This will speak "EVERYTHING" on the page.
Most website that I've found have their articles labeled as 'Heading'.  You can jump from heading to heading, by pressing Control-Option-Shift-H.
If you'd like an itemized alphabetical listing of the site, press Control-Option-I
Press Control-Option-Space on the link or article you want to view.
Step 3.  Reading from Top to Bottom
Once you found and clicked on the the article/link, use the same 'Heading' command, Control-Option-Shift-H to find the title.
After finding the title, press Control-Option-A will start reading from the title on.
Note:  If there are any other items (ads, pictures, etc) it will read those too.
Tip:  You might be able to activate a feature called the 'Reader'.  The Reader isolates the article and elimanates the ads  The keyboard command is Shift-Command-R.  You can also find it in the Menu Bar (Command-Option-M) under the word 'View' then 'Show Reader'.
I am using a MACPro with OSX, probably Mavericks 10.9 (where would I look to see if that is the correct information?)
You can find this information under the 'Apple menu' in the Menu Bar.  To access the Menu Bar, press Control-Option-M.
Go to Apple Menu > About This Mac.  This will open up another window.  Use Control-Option-Right Arrow until you hear 'Version'.  If you purchased it brand new from Apple within the last six month, more than likely you have Mavericks.

The  'Commands Help' Voiceover Menu. Control-Option-H-H.  (hit H twice)  is my best friend.  It's a searchable VoiceOver Menu with most of the VoiceOver command.  Example:  You are looking for the 'Read Current Paragraph' keyboard command.   Press Control-Option-H-H and then type Paragraph.  It will then bring up all the commands with the word paragraph.  I believe there are three.
As from the Trackpad Commands, I've copied and pasted below from Appendix A: Commands and Gestures

  • At end of video how do I set a specific point in menu to return to?

When my video has finished playing it returns to the start of my motion menu but I want to be able to tell DVDSP4 to start at a specific marker created in my Motion 3 project. Is there a way to do this?
    Many thanks
    Mark

Very easy to do - click on 'add script' in the tool bar, then click on the script in the outline view. Look in the script editor tab and click on 'NOP' -the first line in the script.
Now look in the property inspector at the 'Jump' command, use the dropdowns in that to select the right menu, and check the box that is for the loop point. When done, your script line will look a lot like the one I wrote above.
Now, set the end jump of the track to go to that script instead of to the menu.
All quite simple to achieve, I hope!

  • Page numbering- How can I start with a specific Page #?

I'm using Pages 09 (snow leopard, and Pages on my iPad IOS 4.3.5) and I'm trying to get pages to start numbering using specific numbers.  For example lets say I'm editing chapter 3 of a book which starts on page 84.  Chapter 3 is its own document and always starts numbering with page 1.  I know I could make one large document by pasting all the chapters into a single doc, but I hate working on such large documents.  Editing single chapters at a time is easier to navigate.
Is there anyway to get the page numbering to do this?  I've tried all the options in the page set up and nothing seems to work.  Pages always start with 1 at the begining of a document.
Thanks in advance for any help!
    Cheers!
    David

In Pages on your Mac you used the inspectors for most functions. You can change starting page numbers in the section tab of the layout inspector.

  • Is it possible to hyperlink to a specific point in a video?

I'm trying to create a DVD-style menu page within keynote.
Ideally what I'd like to do is have a video on 1 slide and then create a series of hyperlinks on a menu slide that would hyperlink to specific points within that video.
Anyone know if this is possible?

You could use iMovie to split the video clip into each section as well. Do you need the option to play the entire video clip from start to finish? If not, you can have each video clip be its own Keynote file and have Hyperlinks to each individual Keynote and then there will not be one large file, but multiple smaller files. This of course will not work if you want to play the movie straight though.

  • DVD always starts from the last point

No matter what change I make in the project, the DVD always starts at the last point I stoped! And I need it to start at the main Menu every time.
I've already read many of the topics with similar problem, and tried so many suggestions... none worked for me! Maybe I'm doing something wrong!
I'm using iDVD 7.0.4, Revolution theme.
The first top left auto-start box is empty. Then comes the Main Menu. From it comes 3 other boxes with chapters, all of them with Slide shows (built directly on iDVD) and a few 90 seconds movies (on iMovie, then Exported - not shared with iDVD)
I already tried to delete: com.apple.iDVD.plist and burn the DVD again. I've burned almost 10 already, with different settings!
Please, if anyone can help me, I would appreciate!

All you need do within apple's dvd player app is to select menu and it will remember that spot next time the dvd is inserted into your mac. Or at least it should. If not, then there's something else going on.
A third party set top dvd player (in most cases) will also take you directly to the first menu of the dvd. Unless you simply hit "stop" in which case you should be prompted to resume playback at the last point played. Or again, you can select Menu from the remote to bring the dvd to the root menu page. Your choice.

  • Adding static images to map at specific points in time

    Hello,
I am trying to create a power map animation and I am having difficulties figuring out how to go beyond simply animating the data over time.  let's say I want to add a little image of the space needle in Seattle when the animation gets to the point in
time when it was built.  Obviously, I will be in the process of animating my normal data when this image gets added.  Also, if you know of any tutorials that might be relevant please mention them.
    Thanks,
    Bob

You can add static images at a point in time and these are done by adding an annotation to a specific point that is plotted on your map.  Once you pause the tour at a specific time you might want to add a scene to the tour and then add your annotation.
In order to add an annotation you will need to select the point and then right-click and select 'Add Annotation'.  You will then be able to add a title along with either text, a field from data set, or an image.  At this point you can continue
to plat the tour and/or add another scene and continue to build out your tour.
Check out this article on inserting annotations to Power Maps for additional information

  • Open swf in new windows at specific points on the timeline

Let me start by saying that I am a newbie to Flash. I have created a Flash site and I want to create links that would open a SWF in a new window at specific points on its' the timeline. How can I do this?

It depends what version of actionscript you're using, but if you are familiar with linking to  other pages using buttons, you use the same linking code, getURL (AS2) or navigateToURL (AS3), and specify "_blank" as the window parameter in the arguments for whichever you use.  So if you are using AS2, then in your timeline where you want a new window to open you would have....
    getURL("yourfile.html", "_blank");

  • Loading an animation at a specific point in the timeline?

    Hello,
I am trying to find out if it is possible to start/load the animation based on a specific point in its timeline? The animation I am creating is a parallax animation based on mouse position and I am trying to load it in the middle of the animation and based on the users mouse position will play forward or backwards from that point. Is this doable?
    Thank you

    Hi, Bullvinne Designs-
What you'll want to do is to stick some initialization code into the compositionReady event from the stage.  This will execute after the runtime loads and before the user sees the stage.
    Thanks,

  • I want to be able to tweak the graphic equalizer in real time while recording - and have this have the audible effect written to the recording.   At the moment i have to go into post-production and manually set the graph equalizer at various time points .

i want to be able to tweak the graphic equalizer in real time while recording - and have this have the audible effect written to the recording.
At the moment i have to go into post-production and manually set the graph equalizer at various time points ...

This won't be real-time as you record, but you could tweak the EQ in real-time after the recording thus:
Record what you want to tweak into GB with no effects.
Solo the track and output it into something like Audacity.
Start Audacity recording, then play your track in GB as you make those tweaks. That's what Audacity will record.
Get that file from Audacity and put it into GB, then you'll have that effect.
Sorry if it's complicated, but that's what came to mind. Hope it works.

  • Logic crashes if playhead is moved to specific point

    Hello All,
I'm having some trouble with a project, it's really weird and sort of difficult to explain but I'll try:
I use a Virus TI and suddenly, I started getting a message saying smthg like "multimode seems to be causing trouble" blah blah, and the message said the Virus TI was causing the problem. Despite deleting the Virus instance along with all of the automation, Logic continues to freeze as soon as I move the playhead past a certain point in the project. It starts at a specific section, if I just let it play out, no problem, everything is fine, but as soon as I move the playhead past that point or I hit stop, move the playhead and then hit play, logic freezes. So it really looks like it's an issue with Logic itself and not the Virus TI. I've never had anything like that happen b4 and I'm really clueless as to how I can solve it. I've tried deleting several processor heavy tracks within the section but the problem persisted. Any advice would be much appreciated!!!
    Thanks!

  • How do I move video clips to specific points on a music track in iMovie?

I am trying to make a lip synch video and need to move my video clips to specific points on a musci track so that the words are in time with people singing - does anyone know how to do this? At the moment, I only seem able to put the clips in one after the other...

    Hi
IMovie is Video clip oriented - meaning that Audio can not be put in first and video/photos added later.
So to do this I use black photos that I fill up the Video with first
    Then Add audio
Then add Video/photos by Cutaway function or exact replacement (in time).
This is so much easier in any version of FINALCUT where one can build Audio first then create the video ontop of this.

  • How can I set my Mac to only share SPECIFIC folders with Win7

It used to work, but, even though I have set only my Public folder and a specific photographs folder to share with a Win7 PC on my home network, the Win7 machine can see the entire Mac HD.
    I followed instructions from here:
    http://www.trickyways.com/2011/07/file-sharing-mac-os-x-lion-and-pc-windows-7/
But if I type Run then enter the ip address of the Mac, all the folders appear. Is there a way to limit them to only the two specific folders?
I've mapped the single folder to a drive, so admittedly, unless you go into "Run", you can't see the other Mac folders and drives, but I'd still like to make sure it can't be done.
    Thanks
