but i get this error :

In addition your question is better suited for the web center content forum (i guess). RidcConnection is a content server connection, so on the other forum you probably get better help.

With OmniPortlet, I can set the database connection I wish to use for that instance of the portlet in the configuration, but I can't seem to find a way to accomplish this with Dynamic Page portlets. How can I configure what server/user the portlet is using?

Is there a way to create multiple instances of the Dynamic Page Portlet that use different database providers, or is that impossible? (I'm somewhat new to Portal, so forgive me if that is an ignorant question)

Setting the airport connection & networking

I've just switched from a non-apple wireless system to an Airport Express one in our house, but my iBook G4 won't automatically select my network from among those in other apartments. Is there a way to set the selection?
Also, what are the advantages of setting up a network versus just using the wireless connection?

Your just need to change the default setting of "Automatic" to your "Preferred Network."
System Preferences > Network > Show > AirPort > AirPort tab
- By default, join Preferred Networks, and then choose your network.

Set the Database connection in report at runtime in VB 6.0

Hi,
I have a report created in CR XI that connects to the oracle server. The report works fine if I have same Service name in the tnsnames.ora file which I had used while creating the report.
But I dont want that. I want that I pass a recordset directly to the report and it uses the connection that was used to create the recordset. but it doesnt do that and I get "Failed to open the connection" error
This is the way I have the code
dim lrpt as CRAXDRT.Report
AdoRecordset.open (ReportQueryString)
lrpt.Database.SetDataSource (AdoRecordSet)
Can someone tell how can I make this working??

Setting the server connection timeout, Mac Mail

I have several POP accounts setup through Mac Mail and lately I've been running into problems where I can't send messages because of "two many simultaneous connections". I was told by my email host that it is likely caused by my email client maintaining an open connection with the server or idling, etc... I don't fully understand what they are referring to as I can't seem to locate any settings that pertain to this.
A brief search shows this could be relevant to an IMAP account, but that is not how I configured them. Does anyone have any experience modifying how Mac Mail connects to the email servers, and closes the connection after send / receive is complete?

Mail sent via att.net comes through as "via Yahoo" when I send something to Gmail, so I assume it's the case in California.
I looked at all the headers. Gmail is not involved nor would I expect it to be, at least when I send something.

Hmmm. Looks like my yahoo servers still work but sometime in the last three years AT&T changed their server names to the ones on that page. I just changed my server settings in Eudora (and also mail.app) to inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net and they work too. I guess I'll leave them to those "new" (new to me) servers.
And by the way, outbound.att.net doesn't support SSL, or at least seems not to since Mail bottoms out with the eternally spinning wheel whenever I check that option.
Actually it does. Note I said above all I changed was the servers, not any port, ssl, or authorization info. And it works as expected. So that's why you saw the rotating cursor, it was hanging when shaking hands with the server.
If you look at table on that AT&T page, last two rows (incoming/outgoing port #) is shows the info I listed previously, i.e., ports and ssl.
Anyway, thanks for making me aware of the server (change -- change from my point of view anyway).

FMW11g WSM , Can't set keystore.recipient.alias in ADF Connections

Hi.
I added a wsm server policy on a composite service. this works fine. And as client I have a ws datacontrol in an ADF application.
I can deploy this ADF application to WSL and change the ADF connections in the Enterprise manager. When I select the connection and do Edit Web Service, select the wsm client policy I can't set keystore.recipient.alias. when I put in a new value and do apply nothing happens. and it holds the default value ( orakey ).
Hope someone can help me with this

it is a read only repos, so I can override this property in the datacontrol ( define security settings ) of the adf application

Setting-up the Internet Connection

Hi All, my systems has the following Linksys products:
modem - ADSL2MUE
wireless router 1 - WRT54GS (1st floor)
wireless router 2 - WRT54G (2nd floor)
switch - SR2024 (for cable connections)
I was able to connect all the PC to the internet. My problem is I could not make all the PC be in same Gateway number in which I could not share the network printers and files to all PCs. Is there any way to solve this problem? Below are settings to each device:
ADSL2MUE - Bridge Mode only
WRT54G - IP Address (192.168.1.1), PPPoE
WRT54GS - IP Adress (192.168.2.1), DHCP
* ADSL2MUE Internet Port is connected to WRT54G Internet port
* WRT54G Ethernet Port 1 is connected to SR2024 Ethernet Port
* WRT54GS Internet Port is connected to SR2024 Ethernet Port
* Printer 1 is connected to SR2024 Ethernet port (2nd floor)
* Printer 2 is connected to WRT54GS Ethernet Port (1st floor)
* All PCs in the 1st floor is using 192.168.2.1 gateway number thru WRT54GS wireless connection.
* All PCs in the 2nd floor is using 192.168.1.1 gateway number thru WRT54G and SR2024.
I need your help on this.

It does not matter how you set the internet connection type on the second router when nothing connects to the internet port. The internet connection type is used for the configure of the connection through the internet port. As nothing is connected in the internet port the setting is basically inoperable and makes no difference whatever you set there. You should not set a static IP address as that may affect the routing tables on the router even if the internet interface is down. Thus, just leave it on Automatic/DHCP and it should be fine.

Apex Listener in standalone mode, how to set/reset db connection.

Sometime ago I installed Apex Listener for testing, then I removed it.
Now I downloaded last version, installed it in standalone mode and try to set the DB connection.
However when I try to edit in listenerAdmin page the db connection parameters I can't : they are greyed and report the connection informations I gave in my first test installation.
How can I change them ?
How can I avoid all fields in listenerAdmin greyed ?

Hello Tullio,
you can run /listenerConfigure/ only as long as there is no configuration available. The database parameters can only be setup when the APEX Listener is not connected due to the state of its connection pool. Once it is established, you can only configure it offline by editing the apex-config.xml . That's why the parameters are greyed out in /listenerAdmin/.
You probably only removed the war file of your test installation, but not the apex.home including the apex-config.xml that is stored in there. So your new installation found the old home and reused the connection.
You could either edit the apex-config.xml or delete the apex.home and rerun /listenerConfigure/
If you run on a windows system, you'll find the apex.home in your users TEMP, usually located in the temp folder underneath the local settings of your user profile. The directory to locate is now called "apex".

Questions about the database connection

hi all,
I am developing a project with JDeveloper 10g and I created a database connection to my Oracle RAC database.
However, whenever I start the project with the JDeveloper and I do a "netstat -an" with the command prompt window. I show there are over 100 connection ESTABLISHED to my database. I don't have any idea how this happens. The problem is since there are over 100 connection established, I couldn't run the project with the JDeveloper's embedded OC4J.
Can anyone help me to fix this problem?

I have set the Max connections to 30 in the connection-pool setting of my project in the Embedded OC4J Server Preferences, but it doesn't work.
There are still over 100 connections to the database...

Refused to set unsafe header "Connection"

I'm having trouble with {module_calendar} when I change the month/year.
prototype-core.ashx is where the error lies and I'm aware that it's a known issue, and has been for a long time now. The workaround submitted by TheBCMan (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5613007#5613007) isn't working for me in this instance, but it has done in the past.
I've created a script (http://thrive-intranet.siteglide.com/_assets/js/prototypeFix.js) and placed it at the bottom of the page, which in the past would have corrected the issue. The only difference between this instance, and past instances is that I'm using {module_calendar} rather than the issue appearing in the shopping cart, although I'm not sure that should affect it.
Any ideas on another workaround, or when this issue will be fixed?

Hi All!
If you look real close at the error message you can see that Connection is written with a capital C. So safari means you cant set the header "Connection". This is probably an safety feature or something, i don't know actualy.
So what you can do is look at the code that makes the request an look if it sets the Connection header. If it does you must remove that piece of code.
I discovered this by accident and when i did i remembered that this topic didn't had a solution yet so i decided to post this. I don't know for 100% that it works but for me it does.

Unable to set the selected value for a ADF LOV

I am developing an application using jdeveloper 10.1.3 and Struts.
I have created a ADF LOV on my JSP Page as given below:

When i submit the form, i am able to get the value of the selected Value in the List.

But i am unable to set the selected value back in the list when i return to the form again.
I tried the following:
int x = listBinding.getSelectedIndex();
listBinding.setSelectedIndex(x);
It would be really helpful if some one could let me know what needs to be done.

I tried with the code you suggest , its trying to set the value of a field, but my requirement is to change the property for
"Rendered" on the field so that based on search parameters we can hide result table column.
After searching online, I modified the controller code as follows
1.Created a new transient attribute (Testrender) with type "Boolean" and always updateable.
2.changed the "Rendered" property value on the field I want to hide as ${oa.PoSearchVO1.Testrender}.
3. Modified the controller code as follows :
        OAApplicationModule am = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
        OAViewObject testvo = (OAViewObject)am.findViewObject("PoSearchVO1");
        OADBTransaction txn = am.getOADBTransaction();

        } But now when i run the page and populate the search field and click "Go" its hiding the field but throwing the following error and the search results are also bad.
Its using only the value of one search parameter but not the second one .
The search cannot be executed because the table has pending changes that would be lost. I think the vo is getting dirty when I update the transient attribute value. So I used txn.rollback ,then search is working fine but its not hiding the field.
So can you please let me know how to proceed from here ?

depend on what you need or what your security policy says for my lab gear i use 60 minutes. because i know how can access this. if you have gear outside in insecure space set it to a minimum or disable the console. everybody how can access your gear can break in. simple restart and boot w/o config. and you are in.
it realy depends how secure is your space and how much security you need.
and than the settings for policy have to match, what sec do you have if your console login and logout is secure. but when you restart you can simple break in by starting w/o config and than load it.

Airport Extreme set-up - Ethernet connection ok but wifi connection doesn't see the internet

I'm trying to set-up a new (5th Gen) Airport Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi to replace an existing TRENDnet router.
It's connected to a Motorola cable modem with Optimum internet service.
When I hard wire my laptop (Windows) through ethernet I get internet access. However when I try to connect via wi-fi on the laptop the Airport Utility displays 2 errors: Internet not available and No DNS server.
When I try to connect my ipad, when I select the Wi-fi network I see the network and it tries to connect but continues to cycle, with the wi-fi icon appearing in the top line then disappearing before returning. In the Airport utility on the iPad I see the same issues listed as on the laptop.
In the airport utility under the internet connection, "Connect using" is set to "ethernet" and "connection sharing" is set to "Off(Bridge mode)"

I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
Power-up the base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, computers connected to the base station, either by wire or wireless (as appropriate for the base station type), should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options.

How can I stop Firefox from re-setting its internet connection configuration every time I re-open the browser? It should stay at "no proxy" but doesn't.

In the past couple of days, every time I close Firefox 8.0, it re-sets the internet configuration to "manual configuration" -- which generates a "proxy server refusing connections" error message. I have to re-set to "no proxy" every time I re-open the browser. This never happened before yesterday. What can I do to make the "no proxy" setting an automatic default on opening? ISP is Verizon high-speed.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
