SFTP and keyboard-interactive mode

Our SFTP servers recently switched to requiring keyboard-interactive mode when making connections.  This seems to have broken those that use Contribute.  In my testing, both Contribute CS4 and CS5 do not support this option - unless there is a setting I can't find.  Has anyone contacted Adobe and received a confirmation that it is or is not supported?  Is there a setting or registry setting that can be set to enable support for keyboard-interactive mode in Contribute?
For those unfamiliar with keyboard-interactive (as I was), here is a snippet from wikipedia:
keyboard-interactive (RFC 4256):  a versatile method where the server sends one or more prompts to enter  information and the client displays them and sends back responses  keyed-in by the user. Used to provide one-time password authentication such as S/Key or SecurID. Used by some OpenSSH configurations when PAM is the underlying host authentication provider to effectively provide  password authentication, sometimes leading to inability to log in with a  client that supports just the plain password authentication method.
The RFC is dated Janary of 2006 so this is not something super new.
Thanks,

  • Macbook Pro trackpad and keyboard freezes after attempting sleep mode

I bought this computer on April 2008. It has the latest OS X 10.5.6 and it did not accept the trackpad firmware. I tried to install and the software said "this computer does not need this update".
This has been happening a lot when I am using Skype while talking to someone with video and sound. The computer tries to go on sleep mode because I am not typing or touching it - it thinks I am away because I am just talking and watching the person on the other side.
I touch the computer to avoid getting on sleep mode and with that it freezes the trackpad and keyboard. I continue to listen and see the other person and they continue to see me and hear me, but I cannot move the "mouse" cursor on the screen or type anything. Neither can I force to quit anything. The only thing that works is to close the computer and open again, that forces the computer to go into sleep mode then I can make it wake up again by opening it and touching any key on the keyboard.
This have been interrupting Skype calls and a study I am conduting. I have to keep touching the computer trackpad to not let it sleep ever. I am concerned is something with the battery or maybe it needs some kind of firmware.
This is very recent, just started happening this week (March 2009). I have not added any new software or any hardware to the machine.
What can I do to make the trackpad and keyboard stop freezing when the computer tries to sleep?

this is in the wrong category. I added a new message to the right category: MacBook Pro but I don't know how to delete it from here.

  • Chrome, Mountain Lion and Full Screen Interactive Mode

I'm running into an issue when entering Full Screen (Interactive) Mode-- long story short, the Message and "Allow" button are over-magnified and don't appear on the screen for me to click, thereby making it impossible to use other keystrokes (and see certain things in the interactive game window t'boot).
This issue does not exist in Snow Leapord on an older machine, though the same updated versions of Chrome (and assumedly Flash Player) are at work there.
Any suggestions on something I can tweak-- or even a work-around/hotkey for Allowing FSI Mode?
The actual game screen itself is fine, albeit slightly cut off around the edges.

Man, do you have Sophos antivirus? If that so, you need to uninstall it the right way:
For Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X version 7.x , go to Macintosh HD|Library|Sophos Anti-Virus.
    Select 'Remove Sophos Anti-Virus.pkg'.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
NOTE, if you are running Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X version 4.x, the path in step 1 is Macintosh HD|Library|Application Support|Sophos Anti-Virus.
It seems that Sophos antivirus is crashing ML. They have an update but I'll wait some time becuase I've really had a painful time these days.

I have to keep touching the computer to avoid getting on sleep mode. If it attempts to sleep, it freezes and stops the trackpad and keyboard. I continue to listen and see the other person on Skype with no problems, and they continue to see me and hear me, but I cannot move the "mouse"/trackpad cursor on the screen or type anything. Neither can I force to quit anything. The only thing that works is to close the computer and open again, that forces the computer to go into sleep mode then I can make it wake up again by opening it and touching any key on the keyboard. But that interrupts the Skype call and the video and the internet connection. It is a very frustrating interruption.
This have been interrupting Skype calls and my website usability study I am conducting. I have to keep touching the computer trackpad to not let it go on sleep mode ever, but I forget sometimes when I focused on the study.
I am concerned is something with the battery or maybe it needs some kind of firmware. I am also concerned that if I never let it sleep it will shorten the battery's life span.
This is very recent, just started happening this week (beginning of March 2009). I have not added any new software or any hardware to the machine.
What can I do to make the trackpad and keyboard stop freezing when the computer tries to sleep?

"...No, I haven't. I am assuming it will take too long, they might not have the answer, and I don't have the time for a long phone call now.
The Apple store in Arlington is always too busy and you I waited over an hour to be helped a few times before."
    1. The phone call will at the very least get you a case number and they can advise you if this is a current issue.
    2. Making an appointment with the genius will at the very least cut down your wait time.

  • Touchsmart 520-1047c Mouse and Keyboard will not work after sleep mode

I have an issue which I need some help with. When my computer goes to sleep the wireless mouse and keyboard will not work unless I restart, however each one will wake the system up but will not operate after that. I have tried just making the display go to sleep, both go to sleep but that makes no difference same issue occurs. The only work around I have found is going into the power settings and turning the sleep mode off for booth the computer and display. This does not solve the problem it just masks it. New batteries, unplugged and replugged the dongle, updated the bios and all drivers. Don't know what else to try. Anybody know how to fix this? Thank you in advance for your help.

  • Can I use my iMac's mouse and keyboard on Target mode with my MacBookPro?

I have my MacBookPro conencted to my iMac via ThunderBolt Cable.
I want to be able to put my MacBookPro aside and use my iMac's mouse and keyboard.
    Is this possible?

You'd have to switch the connections after enabling. It's not something I've tried so I don't know if your MBP will
'see' them when they're already connected to your iMac. Worth a try though.

  • Keyboard-interactive authentication

SFTP in dreamweaver currently appears to only support
    password authentication to SSHD.
This is a big problem for us, because using PAM for LDAP
authentication requires us to use keyboard-interactive
    authentication on the SSH server.
Has anyone found a work-around for this problem? There
appears to be no options for SFTP inside dreamweaver, but perhaps
there are extensions, registry modifications, etc?
    Thanks much,

I can able to login using my root credential from actual linux window. But when I am trying to do that from Putty, from there I am getting this kinda problem.
For your reference its my first time login into that linux server using putty. So is there any tricks for making enable of putty/root login using some changes on SSHD or SSH file and re execute it.
Thanks a lot for your reply.

  • Problem with xfce and/or mouse and keyboard

    Hi!
Two days ago I've turned on my laptop with Arch and the display manager Slim has frozen immediately. Later on Single-User mode I've uninstalled it. Now in normal mode when I type "startxfce4" everything is showing up, but the mouse and keyboard don't work. I know it's not frozen, because animation of mouse and CPU Frequency Monitor is on.
Strange fact is that laptop is not connecting with the Internet, so now I don't know where the problem is.
It's happening when I start xfce both from user and super user.
Just before those troubles I've updated everything with "pacman -Syu", but I haven't seen anything strange. Also the computer could have been roughly turned off (by unplugging power supply), when was turning on.
    Thanks,
    Gaba

Sorry for not replying, but I didn't have access to my laptop by this time.
On grub I have only normal mode and 'fallback' mode, so I have result from 'journalctl' from normal mode.
I'm sending the fragment of this file where you can see everything after I typed 'startxfce4' in console:
    http://codepad.org/8pYIj8qC
I see that something is wrong, but after some attempts I don't know how to fix this ^^
    Edit:
Oh, I forgot to write, that I've tried activate some drivers from 'lspci -k' (there were no "Kernel driver in use:..." in almost every device), but it didn't fi anything.

  • External mouse and keyboard no longer work after 10.8.5 upgrade

Today I upgraded from OSX 10.8.4 to 10.8.5 on my macbook pro 17". This upgrade caused by external mouse and keyboard to completely stop working. I tried installing the 10.8.5 "combo" install (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1676) and also tried resetting the PRAM, but neither action had any effect.
I also tried restoring to an older time machine backup with 10.8.4, but could only figure out how to restore files, not the entire system.
I've lost a day of work at this point, I need help... How can I get back to 10.8.4 or get the mouse/keyboard working again on 10.8.5??

Try booting into the Safe Mode.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application uninstaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

    Hello there, omsmac.
The following Knowledge Base article provides a great place to start with some good information that can apply to keyboard issues as well as trackpad:
Trackpad or Magic Trackpad is jumpy or erratic
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1449
Aside from the usage recommendations, this recommended step is very practical:
If none of the above resolve the issue, try to rule-out software not created by Apple as a cause. To do so, start in Safe Mode.
There are some good steps for testing the keyboard as well found here:
One or more keys on the keyboard do not respond
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1381
If the issue persists after attempting Safe Mode, then you may want to try an SMC (System Management Controller) reset. The steps on how to accomplish that are found here:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

  • Bluetooth, iSight and Keyboard Backlight not working. Please help!

My Bluetooth stopped working along with my iSight and Keyboard Backlight. I first noticed the weird sign over the bluetooth icon, and it read "Bluetooth not available". I payed no attention to it for a while until I tried to take a picture with Photo Booth and I read "No camera found", for some reason I tried to dim the backlight on the keyboard and a blocked sign appeared under the brightness level, not letting me do anything (Later I was able to use the backlight with the LabTick app). I have tried everything. SMC, PRAM, NVRAM, logging as diferent and new users, booting in safe mode... every solution I have found on the internet has been tested by me. Then I read this about the Hardware Test solution, and surprisingly after performing the Hardware Test no problems were found! So basically my MacBook Pro (mid 2010) is not having any trouble of any sorts with anything. Then why can't I use Bluetooth, iSight or Key backlighting (which only works through LabTick). Given the fact that the hardware test shows no problems I am not comfortable with the idea of taking it to repair. There MUST be something I can actually do to fix these issues.
Does anybody have any idea? I repeat, these are NOT WORKING, NOT FOUND AND NOT AVAILABLE.
    - Keyboard Backlight (Only works through LabTick)
    - iSight Camera (Not found by any software)
    - Bluetooth (No info appears on the system profile, the icon on the menu bar is completely gone)
All three issues happened at the same time, the night before everything was working perfectly fine.
    If anyone could help... please!!!
    Summary:
MacBook Pro Mid 2010 (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP583) Unibody, can't take out the battery.
    Solutions tried:
    - Reset SMC: Turning on while holding Shift + Ctrl + Option + Power Button (This makes my MacBook forget about the battery and start up with really loud fan noise, battery icon appears with an X on it, keyboard backlight buttons work, they show brightness level on screen, but the actual light won't work, no bluetooth, no isight)
-Reset PRAM and NVRAM: Turning on while holding Option + CMD + R + P (I have waited for 2 chimes, 3 chimes and 4 chimes at different times, nothing happens. Light, bluetooth and isight are still gone)
-Holding Power Button for 10 seconds, 20 seconds, longer... nothing changes.
-Creating and logging in as new admin user, nothing changes.
-Deleting the bluetooth.plist file and powering off and on again, also rebooting
-Deleting the SystemConfiguration folder, powering off and on again, also rebooting
-Installing "blueutil", didn't help at all, turned it off via terminal with command blueutil off.
-Performing Apple Hardware Test - Shows no erros or problems on any area after one full hour of testing (Performed the extended testing)
    -Leaving it powered off overnight
Please anyone help meee!! I can't afford going crazy!
Thank you so much in advance!
    Alvarock.

  • Wireless mouse and Keyboard Issue after closing the lid - external display

Can anyone give any insight. Recent purchase of a new Late 2008 15" MBP. I have connected it to an external 24" Apple monitor on my desk and use a wireless mouse and wireless keyboard on my desk top. I have configured the laptop to wake on bluetooth devices. So here is the problem: The laptop when the lid is up recognizes the bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I close the lid/screen. Laptop powers down... the after several seconds I move the mouse and the laptop comes alive... But after that there are no bluetooth devices attached. When I use the mouse, I get "connection lost" with a white figure of the mighty mouse on the screen. The wireless keyboard is not there and I have to open the lid and manually find the mouse and reconnect. The keyboard seems to work however....
    Apple..... any thoughts..... anyone?????

Hi Stentdoc; I'm thinking, 'connection lost ~= sorta low AA batteries in the Mighty Mouse? (I would put in fresh AA batteries in the mouse and keyboard, to eliminate as an issue that the 'connection lost' is due to low batt voltage; that this is causing the failure to wake.) ... then, in System Preferences > Hardware > Energy Saver, settings for Power Adapter > Sleep, set to "never" for "Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for ..." to eliminate that as a conflict when trying to wake with bluetooth from sleep induced by closing the lid ...
Check your current "Sleep" setup (I left my MBP as "3")
    go to Utilities > Terminal
After you launch Terminal, the first step is to determine which sleep mode your Mac is currently using. You can both view and change the sleep mode using the Unix program pmset. To see your current settings, type (or, copy and paste)
    pmset -g | grep hibernatemode
    press 'enter'
You should see something like this:
    $ pmset -g | grep hibernatemode
    hibernatemode 3
So your machine is using mode 3 ... thanks to the documentation for the handy Deep Sleep Dashboard widget, which puts your machine immediately into hibernation mode (so you don’t have to yank all the power sources to invoke it):
    * 0 - Old style sleep mode, with RAM powered on while sleeping, safe sleep disabled, and super-fast wake.
    * 1 - Hibernation mode, with RAM contents written to disk, system totally shut down while “sleeping,” and slower wake up, due to reading the contents of RAM off the hard drive.
    * 3 - The default mode on machines introduced since about fall 2005. RAM is powered on while sleeping, but RAM contents are also written to disk before sleeping. In the event of total power loss, the system enters hibernation mode automatically.
also, I enabled this (to change back, input "lidwake 1":
    go to Utilities > Terminal
type in sudo pmset lidwake 0 then "enter"
it will ask for your password. type it in, that's it!
Now, when your computer is sleeping with the lid closed, when you open the lid nothing happens until you press any key ... nice: keeps it off when accidentally opened, like in a backpack?
WARNING: Improper use of the sudo command could lead to data loss
or the deletion of important system files. Please double-check your
typing when using sudo. Type "man sudo" for more information.
To proceed, enter your password, or type Ctrl-C to abort.
