"sfttray.exe" commandline to run in synchronous

Hi,
We are working on a batch script, which have multiple Sfttray /launch commandlines and each one needs to be executed in an order from top to bottom. The format is as below
sfttray.exe" /launch "Application-name" "Parameter1"
sfttray.exe" /launch "Application-name" "Parameter2"
sfttray.exe" /launch "Application-name" "Parameter3"
The problem is, If already a Virtual application is running(sftray.exe in running in process), all of the sffttray commandline from above starts all together(asynchronous) and don't run in
sequence before moving to the next command.
Some of article I went through mention to use "Sftray.exe /launchresult" commandline, which (I think?) gives a mechanism to wait. But I don't find any examples or more details to confirm if it meets my requirement to run commands
in synchronous fashion.
Any help or advise in this regard will be greatly appreciated !!!

As an FYI the launchresult argument will allow you to do what you want. We had an in house developer code something for us to make use of it for exactly the same reason you are looking at. I'm not a .Net coder, but he created an instance of a
.NET EventWaitHandle with a unique event name as passed into the launchresult argument.
Interestingly enough, SCCM uses Vapplauncher which makes use of this. If you have an SCCM environment running App-V you can see some examples in the vapplauncher log of the sfttray.exe command being called.

Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

After installing zone Alarm extreme 10, firefox.exe 32 stays running in the background after closing, making it not possible to open it again.

After installing the latest Zone Alarm Extreme v10, on windows 7 x64, when I close firefox, the window closes but firefox.exe 32 remains running in the background, which makes that when I want to open firefox again, after about a minute I get the error that an instance of firefox is still running. I go to task manager and end task of firefox.exe 32 and then open firefox again.
This is now happening regularly.

This seemed to come out of the blue, very much as described by anima42. I also am a Ubuntu 10.04 user. I have pondered on the first reply above, and though I don't, and didn't, use Tabberwocky, I was using Tab Mix Plus. Having removed this, the problem seems to have gone away. Another possible clue as to what went wrong: I use a constant Firefox profile located in my home directory. I dabbled with Ubuntu 11.04 a week or so ago, which runs (I think) a more updated Firefox. This Firefox was operating on my default profile, as you would. It may have broken something so it now doesn't play nicely with the 10.04 setup. Just surmising.

How to ensure that giving the firefox.exe command in run dialog box in Windows opens up a specific firefox Profile?

I have a firefox profile with certain proxy settings set. When I type firefox.exe in the run dialog Box in windows it opens up the default profile. I have a firefox shortcut specified with the command line args -P "profilename". I want this to be used as it will force the custom profile. Is there an environment variable that i can set for this?

You can set the default profile to use in the Profile Manager to be used when no profile is specified and otherwise use desktop shortcuts with a profile specified (-P "profile").<br />
There is also a "Don't ask at startup" check box in the PM window.

PreviewProcessingService.exe does not run in the background

I just installed VS2013, and SQL2014 RTM, and after that I installed SSDT BI for VS2013 released version (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42313).
But when I created a SSRS project in VS2013, and then preview the report, there pops up a command windows "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\PreviewProcessingService.exe", and it runs in the foreground,
not like in VS2012 or VS2010, that command does not appear, and it runs as a background process. Besides that, if I close that windows, and preview the report again, it shows the error, "There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/PreviewProcessingService5692/ReportProcessing
that could accept the message. ".
Anyone has the same issue? how to work it around?

Javaw.exe is still running when application is closed

The application works fine. when i close the application using "x" at the top of the window the javaw.exe is still running in task manager. javaw.exe is accumulating all memory when i run the again. The same problem occurs when i run the application through jar. Any help is appreciated

If you use
jframe.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
and you close de window, all your applications
running in the JVM will be closed too because System
exit is used. I prefer to use

Alejandro H.If you had read the OP, he was complaining that the JVM was still running even though he had closed his application, which meant he wanted to stop the JVM.

When exiting firefox the GUI shuts down but firefox.exe is sill running

Firefox starts and runs fine, but when time to exit, the GUI shuts down while firefox.exe is still running using 50% of possessor resources. I have to go into Windows Task Manager under processes and end program from there. Other wise firefox.exe will continue to run using more and more memory. If I try to start FireFox, then I get "Firefox already running".
Once I shut down firefox.exe with the Task Manger, Firefox will restart and run just fine.

Plug-in and tasks started by Firefox may continue after attempting to close Firefox. The "X" in the upper right-hand corner closes the Window (same as Ctrl+Shift+W) but even if it is the last Firefox window, it does not necessarily close Firefox .
The only proper way to exit Firefox is to use Exit through the File menu, not the "X" in the upper right corner of last Firefox window.
In 4.0 that would be Alt+F then X

Startup EXE is not running in cRIO-9002 controller

I have a compactRIO with NI 9002 controller. The controller has following software.
1. Labview real-time 2011
2. NI-RIO 4.0
I have made simple User LED blinking application under RT target using Labview 2011 and build EXE. But, EXE is not running after successful deployment. I have tried troubleshooting the cRIO controller using following NI knowledge base.

You need to disable the SSE2 optimisation option in your build properties as you are running on a cRIO 9002, which is an older model that does not support this feature:

Runtime engine memory increase when .exe is not running.

Hi,
I have built a stand alone application that on launch will pop up it's front panel, and wait for the user to click the run button.
If i look in Task Manager, i see the .exe is present and has memory allocated to it.
If i do nothing (do not click the run button), and leave the application window open, the memory allocated (as seen in Task Manager) increases (about 3mb over 24 hrs). -note, the .exe is not actually 'running' my code, as the run button has not been clicked.
1, is this normal?
2, is there anything i can do to stop it?
3, is this down to my coding? (-would seem not as my part of the .exe does not run until the run button is clicked by the user?)
I do not have experience with memory & windows handling of it.
I understand the concept of a memory 'leak' -increasing memory due to continually incremented arrays etc.
Note, i am running the Execution Trace Toolkit, and it is enabled in the .exe.
LV 2011, SP1, WIn XP. (going to upgrade soon, but have held it static as a dev platform...)
Suggestions welcome...

No it is not. An application needing to click run before it works, is not normal. Open Microsoft Word, does it run? Do you need to click a run button? Other programs do not behave like this and neither should yours.
That being said I don't think this memory increasing by not running is normal, but I have never seen it and maybe that's because my program is either running or not. It is never in limbo where it is running but not doing anything.
