Hi,
I like to delete users using cli commands. My firmware is 1.4.0.88.
My thinking was something like: <username admin delete> should work but doesnt. What am I doing wrong?

Deleting User via GUI

I delete a user (via GUI) then manually delete user's store directory. I re-create user with same profiles (user-id and mail address) then I log-in to webmail for that user and get error message "System I/O error". And I can't find user's store directory (under /store/partition/primary=user) that assosiate with the user.
Any body can fix this problem ?

When you say "manually delete user's store" did you use "rm"? Use the mboxutil command with the "-d" option. That will delete the mailbox and maintain system integrity.

Cannot delete users from Catalog Manager

We're trying to delete users who no longer have access to OBIEE from the Catalog Manager. When we try we get an error saying access denied for user to path /users/[userid]... I know we can go out to the file system and manually delete the folder but we would like to use the Catalog Manager for this so that we can delegate this to our security staff.
Is a configuration setting wrong somewhere? It fails with users who have been granted admin rights as well as for the administrator id.
Security is configured with Hyperion Shared Services via an initialization block This is working fine. When we add a user to a group in Shared Services, the user catalog is created when the user logs in. We just can't get rid of it after removing the user from the Shared Services group.
We are running everything except the Admin Tool on AIX.

I'm not sure I understand.
My system is configured to use Hyperion Shared Services for authentication. We do not create users in OBIEE. We create groups in OBIEE and assign them privileges. We then create the same groups in Shared Services. We add users to the appropriate group in Shared Services. When the user logs in, their user folder is created. When we need to remove a user's access, we take them out of the Shared Services group. We then want to delete their user folder in the catalog. We log in as an admin (we even tried this with the Administrator account), but we get the error.
Is there any way to delete users via OBI Presentation Services > Administration > Manage Catalog?

Create users via the CLI interface on a SX20

Hi
Are there some who know how to create users via the CLI interface on a SX20. You can do this via the web interface but I have many video installations where I need to create a user account. Therefore, it would be easiest if I can make it through the CLI interface.

Unless there's a very well hidden command somewhere, then no. As far as I know, this can only be done for the remote supportuser account;

Is there a way to add, delete or change a FAC code via CLI in CUCM?

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if it is possible to add, delete or change a fac code(or client matter) via CLI?
I know how to do it via BAT tool, but I want to do it via CLI(if it's possible).
I´m using CUCM 6.

There are no instructions n how to do this and we do not support doing any kind of changes to the DB via CLI unless instructed by TAC.
If you still want to do so, read the data dictionary for your CUCM version and work your CLI queries, again, if anything happens and the DB becomes corrupted or you have undesired results, we won't provide any level of support.
Previously I mentioned which are the supported methods for adding elements to the DB, I encourage you to use any of them.

Can I delete users folders not done by the system?

Questions are: 1) can I erase user's folders in the library? 2) can I re-create a 501 account? 3) is it normal that TM takes hours to do the first back up of a new account. (I really don't remember that much)
EXPLANATION:
(1) Well, I deleted the corrupted user in the usual procedure, via grp & users pref tab in preference system, but apparently it did not work, since everything is there. I wasn't asked to keep a mirror or whatever. The name of the folder isn't seen anywhere, but everyth is in my HD. I had to erase it because I had prblms I couldn't solve, neither apple assist on the phone. Also, because when I tried to migrate I got the msg that both accounts had problems: this one (502) and the adm-rights user (501). I now have a neat user account (503-standard) but I want to know if (2) I can create another 501acc, in case it still has prblms.
Support info: Yes, I've just checked the HD (using iDisk) and everth is ok, except for some permitions. [ The HD is brand new, installed by apple who installed OSX.9.3. SO which already came with Safari permission prblms. I've been told on the phone not to worry abt it.] So, I think everth is OK, except that I could NOT get rid of the corrupted acc folders from that user in the usual way. I'm afraid I can't do it manually in the library - can I?   and even 501 acc (if I can create another one)?. I can't get how I got this problems, I just know I found the Firewall off, when I got back home from apple store. So, after creating this new account I changed the keychains and stopped safari from registering passwords, to stay on the safe side. Now I ned to clean up my TM too, can I? I'm afraid cause I haven't yet created a bootable DVD.

      Thanks for the answer, specially due to lots of spelling mistakes which made the msg kind of difficult to be understood. I've just learnt how to cancell correction at Safari browser, which was causing all that.
      I was a bit anxious and looked for a way to delete it via Terminal. I succeeded it. I tested by sending other thgs to the trash and asking again for sec empty and it worked well & fast. Then, I tried to do the same with TM BUT user, but it didn't work. I had to remove the full days of back up and had the same prblm w/ Trash. Terminal solved the problem, 'cause the combined keys didn't.
    For safe, I left the first 2 back ups in TM (with original instalation) without that folder cups I was concerned abt (an invisible folder .cup with authorization just to a "person" I don't have in my list (not wheel !), and prohibited access to everyone else. I had tried to change permissions before erasing and couldn't, although I could unlock the padlock); + the 2 last days (most recent B-up, with all MY updates, apps, and so on ) - Did I do wrong?
       Well, I after all that, I asked iDisk to check both disks my HDMac and TM externalHDdisk and got the green answer for both. But I still have that corrupted user account in the 2 first days of TM back-up - can it cause me problms if I need to reboot in the future?   I tried to delete just the user folder, but a sys-window popped up sayng " items in TM can't be deleted". I pitifully had to delete the ful days. Is there any special combination keys to allow me exterminate just o-one folder in TM? Also (2) is the invisible locked unix exe folder called tmbootpicker.efi a default folder? and wht abt mach_kernel unix exe in there too, in every back-up?
       If I did not do anything wrong I'll ask iDisk to erase free space in those disks, just to be in the safe side. I'll wait for yr answer. You know better.

Deleted users are not really "deleted" !

Hello all !
I'm writing an java application to create/read/update/delete users using the GRAPH API. All is going well except one particular use case : If I delete a user, and then later try to create again the same user, I get the following error : "A conflicting
object with one or more of the specified property values is present in the directory"
The detailled use case for one user is :
- Create user with (userPrincipalName, displayName, accountEnabled, mailNickname, password, forceChangePasswordNextLogin properties) : OK
- Query this user to read his properties: OK
- Delete this user : OK
- Query this user to read his properties : the user does not exist : OK
- Create the user with same properties than first step : Not OK ("A conflicting object with one or more of the specified property values is present in the directory")
It should be noted that this error is returned more and more as I repeat these steps.
What is the problem and what can I do ?

I am able to successfully add and remove the same user using the Azure Portal and via code.
Are you sure the user is actually being deleted?
Have you verified if you are able to see the deleted user in the Azure Portal after you delete it?
I used the code within the Graph API Console Application ( AzureADSamples/ConsoleApp-GraphAPI-DotNet

delete the user multiple times without any errors.
Here is another thing you could verify. Is you application a member of the "User Account Administrator" role? You can utilize the MSOL cmdlets ( Manage Azure AD using Windows PowerShell -https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/jj151815.aspx )
to add your application to this role (add-msolrolemember -RoleName "User Account Administrator" -RoleMemberType ServicePrincipal -Rolememberobjectid <object GUID for application> )
If your application is under the correct "User Account Administrator" role, it should not have any problems doing this task. I would verify.
If you are still having a problem. You might need to open a support case via the Azure Portal. I hope this resolves your issue.

Unable to login to ISE 1.2 via Cli

Hi,
I have a weird problem; after changing the default admin password on cli and rebooting the unit; i am no longer able to login via cli. Instead I get the following message:
% Error: Unable to launch ADE-OS shell. Disk full.
The ISE is running 1.2 with patch 3 installed.
If I try to access via web, it is running normally. I was wondering if anyone encounter such issue and any suggestions on how to fix it?

you may be probably hitting one of these two defects.
CSCuj52520 or
CSCuj97832.
There are workarounds for these two defects and initially we need to know if it is the problem due to Admin user previleges corruption or issue with MNT DB growing in size and occupying the entire tablespace.
I suspect this could be a Admin privilege corruption and can be fixed with Rescue ISO image.
Can you please raise SR with TAC who can provide you with Rescue ISO image and help you in implementing the workaround.

OIM PSFT UM delete user task

Hello,
We are using PSFT UM v. 9.0.4 and I can't see any delete user task. The conenctor documentation does not mention it int he supported functions. Does this mean that the connector cannot delete the user or this is a must have for any connector?

Hi,
you have to apply undo task (delete task) on an unconditional task.
Also check Revoke if no longer applied in access policy, so whenever the the group membership rule failed delete task will trigger for revoke.
There should not be difference via API, your revoke task from OIM does same work .

Script to delete user accounts on mac

I am looking for a script that will delete user profiles on mac clients. Such as there home folders and any other clutter that is made when they logon. Since all users logon with there AD account and save to a servver. I am hopign to clean up stuff that's made on the client macs. all my labs are tiger except for one that is panther. Any one have a script that could be ran via ard or could be ran after the user logs off. My mac server that manages the labs is a leopard server. If that helps I just noticed if i delete folders under users on my panterh lab that users are able to logon other wise some times they seam to hang at logon.

I don't know if you will appreciate this answer or not, but have you considered upgrading to Leopard? Leopard has a guest account feature. The guest account is cleared of all user data and erased on logout, and then re-created fresh on the next login.

CSUtil -s and list of (deleted) users?

I would like to
get a text list of the defined users so I work with csutil.exe -d. This
tool writes a dump.txt file that includes deleted users (I don't see
them via the web interface).
I tested csutil -s to "make database smaller
by removing deleted users" as it is written in the doc but it doesn't work.
Is there a way to get a copy of the user list presented on the web
interface ? If not, how can I identify deleted records in the dump file
(a status fields anywhere ?).

I searched some TAC cases for answers to your questions.
Here's what I found:
"Like many relational databases, the CiscoSecure user database handles the deletion of records by marking deleted records as deleted but not removing the record from the database. Over time, your CiscoSecure user database may be substantially larger than is required by the number of users it contains. To reduce the CiscoSecure user database size, you can compact it periodically."
It looks like to remove the deleted users, you need to compact the database with a command like this:
CSUtil.exe -d -n -l
Please refer to this link for more info about compacting the dB & to make sure you follow the precautions like backing up the database, etc.

Seems like once you compact the dB, you can re-run your report to dump out all the users. This time, the deleted users should not be there.

Can't transfer user via time machine

I had installed leopard on oct 26. everthing ok. So I get a 250gig internal drive and reinstall leopard. After the welcome screen it gives me an option to recover via time machine and I select that option. It gets to "Transferring files to suport applications" & "Less then one minutes remaining" and sits there for hours. I started last night at 9:00pm and went to bed it now 6:30am and its at the same point. So, I rebooted and started again. It moved the current downloaded user info to deleted users folder and started again. Its now 9:21am and it has been sitting at the same point again "Transferring files to suport applications" & "Less then one minutes remaining". Has anyone successfully recoverd user info via time machine? If so, what am I doing wrong? I really need my system back!

You can change your iMessage Caller ID setting on iOS devices in Settings > Messages > Receive At > Caller ID. Note that the Caller ID setting is used only for new conversations. If you would like to change the address from which messages are sent, first change your Caller ID, and then delete the existing conversation and start a new one.

Deleted user in existing GOA Responsible Employee

This is to inquiry about a new behavior seen after SP15 and need your
help to confirm if it's because of SP15.
Before SP15:
When Buyer tried to Change GOA, (where Responsible Employee field has a
user who was Deleted in the System), the system will give a hard error
that "User is Deleted". Buyer didn't have the ability to Change the GOA
Responsible Employee field as the system didn't allow it. Therefore,
we had to Re-instate the Responsible Employee user back live and change
the GOA along with the Responsible Employee field value.
Now:
When Responsible Employee is now deleted, Buyer will be able to Change
the Responsible Employee field value for an existing GOA and Release it.
Please let me know if you see any SAP note that solved this issue.

Hi,
It might heppen , if reconsilation jobs are not set in your SAP sytem which does not update user data.
there are some housekeeping jobs need to set for authorization updates as per SAP recommndations to avoid such situations.

Message tracking cannot be retrieved from CLI. Only the mail_logs --- which are used to compile the message tracking DB on the appliance(s).
From the User Guide, 34-36:
Tracking logs record information about the email operations of AsyncOS. The log messages are a subset of the messages recorded in the mail logs. The tracking logs are used by the message tracking component to build the message tracking database.
If you are trying to get the mail_logs...
You'll need to configure your logs via CLI: 'logconfig' or GUI: System Administration -> Log Subscriptions. Edit, or suggested to create a new/copy of the log you are needing off-appliance, and set the push as needed per your environment ---

Log Retrieval Methods
Log files can be retrieved based upon one of the following file transfer protocols. You set the protocol while creating or editing the log subscription in the GUI or via the logconfig command during the log subscription process.

Syslog Push

If you are wanting to just copy over a specific set of logs for a one-time review or to provide... then, assure that FTP is enabled on the interface. Then, using standard CLI from your desktop - ftp <IP/hostname>. You'll be in the /configuration directory when you finish authenticating onto your appliance. After - just simply use standard FTP commands to retrieve the log files you are after.

You can then use standard FTP/UNIX commands to navigate through the directory structure, cd mail_logs, for example and mget the files.
