Share Data between Pro and Designer Form

Good evening,
Old Form:
I recently inherited an adobe pro form created a few years ago. The naming conventions are horrible, and they refuse to replace the form to spit out an xml file. But they want the data to fill into an access database.
New Form:
I was able to create an adobe designer form, with proper naming conventions, that exports an xml file that can be imported into the access database.
Help:
Is there a way to link the old form data to the new form, with the naming conventions being different?
Ideally, id like to create a button that will display a dialog box to select the old form and import the data without converting to an xml first…is this possible?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Pieter,
Ok, it sounds like you are asking about 5 different things here.  Let me break them up and respond individually.
There is no overhead inherent to using a MathScript node on RT.  Since the MathScript code is implemented on top of LabVIEW code, there will be varying levels of performance with respect to a native LabVIEW implementation, but simply having the node itself does not cause any overhead.
On a Windows platform (or other desktop platform), the answer is the same: the node does not introduce any overhead into your algorithm.
If you use the application builder to create a compiled program that uses the run-time engine, you are no longer able to change the .m file.  Or, to be a little more technically accurate, the LabVIEW run-time engine does not have a compiler.  Thus, you can change the .m file all you want, but the actual .m file that is used by your built application is the version that was present when you built the application.
The behavior you observe with MathScript executing new code will only happen if you are running a VI with the full development version of LabVIEW.  We need the LabVIEW compiler in order to generate new code when you update a .m file and this is only present with the full development version of LabVIEW.
The search path is only necessary when you are developing your VI on the host.  You can set a search path by right-clicking on "My Computer" in your project, choosing Properties, and then "MathScript: Search Paths."  Note: your VI will need to be in the "My Computer" target to locate your .m file.  After you have created your MathScript node, you can drag the VI to the target.  You are correct that the .m file is compiled when the program is deployed and you do not need to transfer the .m file to the target.

~/Home/Library folder that may be incompatible?
Yes, big time.  Mail, for sure, has a different file/folder structure, and would not be happy.
Plus, a number of apps (Apple and 3rd-party) are "Sandboxed."  That's a security feature, to prevent malware or bad coding from affecting things it shouldn't.  Some of their files, including the preferences files, aren't even stored in the same places!
Or to other places I'm not aware of?
Probably.  If you have two versions of the same app, they may or may not expect the same data setup.
To have one User folder for both OS's would save a lot of drive space
Not if you use some or all of woodmeister50's suggestions.
But I'm also not sure how I'd use Time machine with such a set up.
Just as you do now.  By default, Time Machine backs-up everything (except things like system work files, most caches and logs, trash) for all users and all internal drives & partitions.  By default, it excludes external drives.
You can change those defaults, of course, via TM Preferences > Options.
See Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #32 for details and considerations of multiple drives.
    Presently I backup with . . . clones to other HD's
Good.   Yes, clones are different.  You need multiple "tasks" to back up multiple drives/partitions.  But once set up, that shouldn't be a big deal.

  • How can I share data between two forms on different lists

Using a custom content type, I created two lists that I want to share the same data - one is a calendar.  Our employees complete a form from the "Out of Office Request" list that has workflow functionality that sends an email to that person's
manager.  If the manager approves the request, the item automatically populates the "Out of Office Calendar."  The problem is that the only information from the request list that populates the calendar is the Title field and date/time fields.
I need the manager name in order to create a view for each manager.
How can I connect the other information in the request list to the calendar list.  It seems to me that if the title and date fields carry over the information, there should be a way to connect the other information.  I'm using Designer.
I've tried to connect the two lists' webparts with the wizard, but when I get to the page that maps the two lists, there are no column names and the "Next >" button is grayed out.  This seems like the logical place to connect the two lists,
    but it isn't working.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted share data between two forms on different lists.
To show external  information on the calendar event, there are two methods: Calculated column, workflow. You can refer to:
A Simple Guide to Show More Information on a Calendar Event
I recommend to use workflow to achieve what you want. But you need to create a people column to display the manager.
You can create a workflow associated to the "Out of Office Request" list, add action to Start Approve Process. If the manager approves the request, you can create a item in the calendar, and then update the people column and the title column.
Then the calendar will display the Title, date/time and the manager.
To create a view for each manager, you need to modify the Filter. You can use the people column is equal to the manager name or the Title contains the manager name.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • How do I share data between my MBP and iMac?

I have two Genealogy programs on my iMac that I would like to share data between my MBP and the iMac.  I would like to gather the data on the MBP and then share new data to the iMac which is where I basically do all of the Genealogy work from, since it is much easier with the larger screen and better keyboard.
Can someone please explain or direct me to a tutorial or procedures if this is possible?  Thank You!

    Click Apple>System Preferences>Sharing
Check File Sharing. In File Sharing add the folder you want to share with another computer. Then add users. Then proide access previledges such as Read & Write, Read Only, Write Only or No Access.
Now in the System Preferences, Click iCloud, sign in to iCloud. It's free and you can access your Macs from anywhere.
In iCloud, check Back to My Mac.
Do the same to another computer. You're all set by now.

  • How to share files between pc and mac via external hard drive

how can i share my files(mp3,mp4,documents) from my harddisk with mac. i am a new mac user and i have a harddisk of NTFS format(as i was a pc user).I learned that mac supports FAT32 format and therefore i can't write data on my external hard drive.
but, reading a section of OSX yosemite(under compatibility) it is said that now we can easily share files between pc and mac.
So please suggest me easier way that how can i share files between macs and pc as my friends uses pc and in future i really want to share my data with them without any hustle and i dont wanna loose my data in future

You can format the HDD to a common one like ExFAT or Fat32 but a reformat will delete all data off of the HDD.
Your other option is to use a third party software such as Paragon or Tuxera that will allow you to write to a NFTS formatted HDD.

    Hello.
How do I share data between two built exe:s ? I now use a global variable between two VI:s and it works exactly as I want. However, when I build the application
the communication between the two exe:s is lost.
All help appreciated. Real examples are really appreciated to.
    Regards
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas
If you have an application, it allocates memory. All global variables are located in this memory. The same happens for the second application.
So that's why it doesn't work. If you have to vis and start them with LV, they both are running in the memory range of LV.
One way to solve your problem is some kind of client-server architecture. You could have a third application which acts as a data-server and the other two apps act as data-clients.
    Hope this helps.

  • Looking for new laptop what are the differences between pro and air? Besides size. Does the air preform like the pro?

Looking for new laptop what are the differences between pro and air? Besides size. Does the air preform like the pro?

The NEW macbook Pro and Air are EXTREMELY close in form factor
The newest macbook Pro is essentially a larger macbook Air with Retina display and options for speed in increasing prices up to an independent graphics and quad core processor.
both Air and new Pro now have PCIe SSD and permanent RAM.
The Air is the lightweight portable form factor, fast to boot and shut down, but with longer battery life than any of the macbook pro in 13"
Now the new macbook Pro and macbook Air are extremely close in form factor and nature.
    both have 802ac wifi
both have permanent RAM, no superdrive
both are slim profiles and SSD
The only real differences now are (in the most expensive Pros) faster processors and quadcore processors and top end model autonomous graphics.
....and of course the retina display
both are now "very good for travel"
Other than features the form factor of the Air and Pro are VERY close now,....so now its merely a matter of features and price more than anything.
You need an external HD regardless of what you get for backups etc.   Drop into an Apple store and handle both and make your choice based on features, such as Retina or non-retina, .... both at a distance now look like the same computer.
The Pro weighs more, ....but nowhere near what it used to just a month ago on the older macbook Pros
The NEW macbook Pro is a different creature entirely than the older macbook Pro, .....the new Pro is thicker than the Air, but id frankly call the NEWEST Pro a "macbook Air with Retina display" , or
Maybe a “macbook Air PRO with Retina display”
Instead of Air VS Pro now,.....its really a smooth transition from Air to pro without comparing say, 2 different creatures, now its like contrasting a horse from a race horse.
Either one in 8gig of RAM (preferably)... the 4gig upgrade costs very little,  the I7 you will notice only 15% faster on heavy applications over the I5, and NOTHING on most APPS.....I5 has longer battery life.
As you see below, the non-Retina 13" AIR is 82% of the Macbook with Retina display in resolution
there is no magical number of pixels per inch that automatically equates to Retina quality.

A huge internal SSD isnt a game changer for anything, you need an external HD anyway
what you WONT READ on Apple.com etc. is that the larger SSD  are MUCH FASTER due to SSD density

  • How to pass series of dates (between startdate and enddate) to subreport, which takes only one date as parameter

Relatively new to Microsoft report services. I have created a report which takes a single parameter named 'SelectedDate'. This report runs fine (uses complex query of hours of the selected date and complex joins & aggregate calculations between SQL
database tables). I created a new report with two parameters, namely, StartDate and EndDate. Also created a sql stored procedure which gives all dates between StartDate and EndDate. Added subreport to this report which calls my first report and defined 'SelectedDate'
parameter to get the value as "=First(Fields!dt.Value, "DataSet1") - where dt is the resultset of procedure called in DataSet1. When I run this report, in the subreport, all I see is the report for 'StartDate' which is the passed
value of the first parameter. I can't find a way to pass entire array of dates as parameter, to which user can browse forwards and backwards. Any idea? Thanks in advance for your help!

HI Visakh16..Never mind my comment..I tried it again. This time I went to the completion of previewing..and noticed that the table with DataSet1 does display dates and first report underneath but once I click any other date, it displays the subreport on
full page and navigation back arrow (with hint 'back to Parent Report) solution is not bad..so unless you a way to achieve my desired layout mentioned above - I am good for now! Thanks for your pointer in right direction!
One small observation for thread readers: When I published the report to the report server, the back button (back to Parent Report) which was available to me at design time, is not displayed at client's browser. Upon checking pertinent threads, concluded
that this is known issue for years and recommendation I concluded from various threads is: Use back button of browser and it should (& did) keep the parent report page, with table with selected dates intact. A few have noticed different behaviour
    for older browser versions.

  • Why replicate Master Data between CRM and IS-U?????

    Hello colleagues,
I am at a customer who is already replicating Business Partner and Contract Accounts between CRM 5.0 and IS-U (ECC 6.0).
He is using CRM IC WinClient where most of the processes are implemented as transaction calls in IS-U.
There is a possibility to replicate all objects (Accounts, Connection Objects and Installations) but what is the purpose of doing it.
Could anybody tell me what is the advantage of replicating all objects and having them redundant?
    Why to replicate?
I just found information on how to replicate but not why.
Thank you very much for your help in advance,

    Hi All,
The major thing is we should not use ISU as stativ and CRM dynalic system. As we all aware When SAP is launching any module or technology its beleives in re-usabilty.
Now the issue data replecation between CRM and ISU-
    1. In a utility market if the customer, retailer and the network operator initiate any business flow they should start with CRM as CRM is handling FOP part.It means CRM has not only build only for ISU.
    2. In ISU before billing so many things is getting triggered - like new connecion,transfer,move-in,move-out etc....these process cant be done with the CRM business module as I mentioned earlier CRM is not only designed for IS-U
So for a smoother process and with proper business SAP introduced CRM IS-U.
Without replacting the data between CRM and IS-U we cant process the steps which will at last billed a customer.

  • Difference between "Export" and "Export form Fact Table" package

    Hi experts!
Could you tell me what is the difference between "Export" and "Export form Fact Table" package?
    Tkanks
    Gabriel

    Hi,
Basic difference between Export and Export from Fact Table is
In standard package "Export" : We can perform this function when we are online and we have adequate amount of data to be exported. We can run this package eg: weekly or monthly. Here we use u201CExport Packageu201D to pull the data
And in the administrative package "Export from Fact Table"   Mostly it is used to do the backend data loading  basically bulk data , also any formula logic has to be implemented on the data in that case we use the administrative package.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to share data between applications.

I'm trying to share data between LabVIEW v6.0 and another program (16 bit), both running on Windows95. At first DLL's seemed to be the answer but I would need to call 16 bit DLL's which I understand can be a problem. With my limited knowledge of C++ I've written a program (Borland C++4.2) which can access the data I need and save it to a file, this is then repeatedly read by LabVIEW, crude but it works. When I add code to do the same the other way I get occasional file sharing errors. I can't get either LabVIEW or C++ to trap these errors. As an alternative I thought I could write and read to a reserved portion of memory (less than 1K should be enough) using in port and out port. Is this viable, and if so how do I
reserve the memory in Windows 95 so that LabVIEW & my C++ program can access it?
    Any suggestions?

May be TCP/IP or UDP interprocess communication will do? It shouldn't be
a problem via localhost. You can try separate VI server to handle
communication task from your vi with C++ socket.

The x86 architecture has a standard formatting for disks that uses up to four primary partitions on a disk. On DOS or UNIX, you can view the partitions with 'fdisk'.
This is layer that Windows and Linux tends to use for filesystems.
Solaris though uses only one of those partitions for its own use (marking it a Solaris partition) and places a label similar to that on a SPARC disk (VTOC). So within the single x86 partition are several further subdivisions (slices).
On solaris, the disk might be /dev/dsk/c0t0d0. You could access one of the Solaris (VTOC) slices as /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0. As far as I know, Linux does not understand how to address the Solaris VTOC slices (If this isn't true, I'd love to know what the syntax for doing so is).
You'd access the (non-Solaris) x86 parititions like /dev/dsk/c0t0d0p1 or so. While Linux can address extended x86 partitions, Solaris can only address primary partitions.

  • Does anyone know if there is a way to share files between Mavericks and Mac OS 9.1 operating system?

Does anyone know if there is a way to share files between Mavericks and Mac OS 9.1 operating system? When I try to connect from my iMac I get a window that says "The version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported." Is there a work-around to this problem or is it just not possible? It would be largly appriciated for a solutin beings my business is a small town newspaper, and we have some important files on the older computer that need to be acessed daily.

Actually to share files between OS 8-9 and OS X, all versions, is quite easy from what I read. Look here for some details.
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20003464-263.html
    And here.
    https://www.google.com/search?q=file+sharing+Mac+OS+9.x&oq=file+sharing+Mac+OS+9 .x&aqs=chrome..69i57.20706j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Or since both OS 9 and OS X can do SMB Windows sharing you could use that protocol to share files from one to the other.
Doesn't really matter what OS you are using. Mac OS/OS X shar files with Windows computers of all types and versions of Windows so the same applies for the different versions of Mac OS/OS X.
Each Operating System takes care of reading and writing files to there respective file formats of the hard drives so that does not have to be the same. They both just have to be able to do Ethernet with the same files sharing protocol.

    Hi,
It is not possible to do what you propose (sync data from an 11.5.7 system to a 12.0.4 system). You will need to re-run the upgrade against the August 1 data, following your original upgrade procedures.
