Shared Review error w/Pro 9

Hi, we're using a PC for shared reviews on a WebDav server. Acrobat Pro 9 creates a folder on the server but the PDF does not get posted. Same result w/ network server reviews. No problems posting from a Mac using Acrobat 8 to same servers. Anyone else experiencing this?

That’s correct. Others can participate using Reader in the shared reviews.

  • Acrobat 9 Shared Review error "Could not save the shared review-enabled pdf file. .

I attempted to start a Shared Review of a PDF file.  I have been unable to initiate the review.  Upon completion of the setup routine (i.e., filed idenitified, server location identified, participant's email entered, send selected, I get the error message - Status"  Could not save the shared review-enabled PDF file.

As a workaround, don't put the source PDF at the network folder location which you have specified in Shared Review wizard. Eg. if you are initiating a review at the network location \\servername\xyz, ensure that your source PDF is not placed at \\servername\xyz.
I have not understood your second question. Do you mean to say that Acrobat.com option is disabled for you?

  • Shared review not working for me in Adobe Pro 9

Suddenly, I'm not able to do shared reviews in Adobe Pro 9.5.5 on my Mac, OSX. I have been doing shared reviews successfully for the last several months. I deleted some preferences files recently and may have accidentally deleted an important Adobe preference file, but I'm not sure, and am not sure if this has to do with my current problem. Now I download shared review files that are emailed to me, open them in Acrobat, and nothing happens--no indication that this is a shared review file. My colleagues don't have any problems with the same files, and I am connected to the server we use. I can participate in a shared review with the same files if I open them in Adobe Reader XI.
    Any ideas? Thanks!

I've been having the exact same problem today and yesterday, and I've been doing shared reviews for years. I am definitely logged in, I've checked every setting that I can think of, rebooted my computer, logged in and out and in and out, still nothing. Adobe: Did you guys make some changes? Everyone where I work has definitely noticed the occasional Acrobat server hiccups, but this time, my problem is exactly as described above: My colleagues on the shared review are able to see the shared review, but mine just comes up as any other pdf file. Adobe: Can you shed some light onto what's going on? It's frustrating!!

  • Shared Review Deadline Dates do not Update - Acrobat Pro. 9

I recently started two shared reviews in Acrobat Pro 9.0.0 When I attempt to extend the deadline dates on both it updates me in the tracker, but when anyone else in the reveiw attempts to add more comments they are told the review has expried.
I am the initiator of the reviews, and acording to Adobe I should be able to change the deadline date in the tracker and have it update the other reviewers so they can contine with their reviews. It does extend my deadline, but not anyone elses.
Does this function not work, should I set all shared reviews with "No Deadline"?
I am running Windows XP Pro, with 3 gig of memory, on an IBM Think Center.
The file is on a network shared folder where everyone who is reviewing has read/write rights.

  • Shared Review - Microsoft Outlook does not recognize recipients

    Hello!
I am using Adobe Acrobot 9 Pro to try for a Shared Review of a document. I get as far as selecting people to send the document to. I click the "To" button which then goes into my companys Outlook contacts, and then after selecting a name I get the following error:
"Microsoft Outlook does not recognize "Inc./ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recpients/cn=cbuttars".
I know the cbuttars at the end of the error is the username I am sending the review to.
Does anyone know how to get past this error? Google was not very helpful in this situation.
    Thank You!

We are having the same issue of trying to send a Shared Review from Adobe Pro XI and getting a error. We are currently using Outlook 2010. Hope someone from Adobe support can answer this issue and other Shared Review issues that are related in nature.

  • Using Shared review process in Adobe 9 Standard

I have initiated a shared review using Adobe 9 Standard and i have people participating who have Acrobat X reader installed on their machine.
So my question can they participate in the review, because i dont see an option on their document as to Paublish comments or check for new comments? So do they need to get standard on their machines or here is aplug in that i can use?

You need to initiate a shared review from Acrobat Pro.

  • Shared Review Acrobat X Shows copy of 1st review file opened

I have organized many shared reviews using Acrobat Pro from v. 8 until  X. Ever since my Windows upgrade I have encountered some problems. The most egregious of these is the following: If I open up a Shared Review pdf I can only see it as I saw it the first time I opened it. For example if the first time I opened it there were 24 comments by the reviewing community, each subsequent time I open it, it shows the same amount of comments. Even if more people have commented since then. I see it on others' desktops, and they show the full review. If I opened it first when there were not comments, then each time I open it afterward, I see no comments. I can only see a full set of comments if I access the file from a computer that never opened the file at any point during the review period. For example, I opened a recent review file when it was first sent out. There were two comments at that time. 20 subsequent comments have come in since then. The initiator has since extended the deadline; however, each time I try to open it again, I see a "review ended notification" with the same two comments that I saw when I opened the file. Has anyone encountered this? I have tried to delete my cookies and other temporary internet files to no avail.

It was on Acrobat.com, so we did know that the reviewers needed Acrobat 9.x - but they were lulled into a false sense of security that it might just work anyway, since the commenting tools and so on appeared.
    Basically the process went:
Reviewer click on link, signs into Acrobat.com and downloads a copy of the file to their local drive.
Reviewer opens the local copy of the file, and is warned that they need Reader 9.x, but decide to give it a go regardless.
Reviewer makes comments on the pdf, hits "Publish Comments", and nothing much happens - I check on the file, and no comments have been transferred to the server.
At this point we decide to upgrade to Reader 9, so the reviewer saves and closes the local version of the file, and downloads & installs Reader 9.3.
We open up the local copy of the file (that previously had the comments on) and, when prompted, sign into Acrobat.com.
We check through the document, looking at the comments - any comments that had been made by other reviewers that were already on the server file are present, but all of the comments that had been made on the local file were deleted, and there appeared to be no way of recovering them.
    Thanks,
    Dave

  • Document message bar not visible when participating in Shared Review

    Hi,
I have initiated a Shared Review using Acrobat Pro 8
Immediately after I finished sending out the notification to other reviewers, the _Review.pdf version of the document is opened for me and the Document Message bar is visible. Therefore I have the option to check for new comments, publish comments.
My colleagues however, when they open the pdf file attachment from their email notification they get the message: "This document has been sent by a user of Acrobat 8.0 Professional for your review. To participate in this review Acrobat 8.0 standard or professional, or later, is required" Pressing OK on that message box opens up the PDF file to be reviewed however the Document Message bar is not visible (there is no Document Message bar icon on the left pane either.). Therefore my colleagues cannot publish their comments.
I also encountered the same issue. After I close my PDF and re-open it, I cannot see the Document Message bar, eventhough I can still see my Review Tracker and the document still listed there.
So, what did I do wrong? I started the shared review by following the prompts:
    1. Comments > Send for Shared Review
    2. Enable reviewers with Reader to participate
    3. Select a network drive to store the shared comments
    4. Select the document to be reviewed
    5. I've experiment with all the different send notifications options
    6. I specified the email address of the reviewers and sent the invite
Thanks a lot for the help..

Does this happen with one particular document or with all your reviews?

  • MAC vs PC common server links for shared reviews

While on a MAC OS 10.5.4 and engaging a group of PC users for
a shared review thru Acrobat PRO 8, the link generated in the email
does not work or does not show up as a hyperlink. This happens in
both directions. MAC to PC and PC to MAC.
    Is this a common occurrence?

It sounds like you are using Acrobat for the review rather
    than acrobat.com.

  • Shared Review - Network Drive - Acrobat X PRO problem [Urgent]

    Hello,
We have a licensed genuine product of Adobe Acrobat X PRO in a company. When user is using shared review pdf on network drive ; sending as attachment works normally, sending as message (with a path to the network drive) it says an error (profile).
The error message is shown below.
    What is the solution?
We have few users with same rights, so the rights should not be the problem? registry? installation?
We also had a problem with tracker. (With Programs - and Repair option on AdobeAcrobatX solved the problem, now it works...)
    This error is strange.
    Thanks for any information.

Any tip or solution anyone, please?

  • Unable to Share a PDF from Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro for Shared Review-Permissions Issue

    Hi,
I get the following message while trying to initiate shared review for a document.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Himani

No updates recently - except possibly whatever Microsoft updates automatically (security, etc.).
What is quite strange is this specific isolated instance:
If I am in a Word document, then highlight and select (Ctrl C) a range of text, then go to Acrobat 9 Pro and try to create a PDF from that clipboard text, I get the above error. However, if I select text from another program, such as a web page, then Acrobat does not complain when I try to create a PDF from the clipboard, and everything proceeds as expected.
So that makes one think that the issue is with Word; however, I sometimes (and "sometimes" is the operative word) get the error when taking text from Excel. But sometimes not.
Is it Microsoft? But that is strange, as all this worked a few days ago - specifically on Friday 9/3. I use this feature daily,
And, as I mentioned before, trying to create a PDF from an entire Word file also does not work (create from File).

  • Shared review problems with Acrobat X Pro

I have used Acrobat X Pro many times to create a shared review without any problems. Yesterday I went to share a few files for review and kept getting the error "could not save the shared review enabled pdf file." I googled this problem and have tried all suggestions I could find, but none really worked. I deleted and recreated the PDFs and eventually got 3 of the 4 documents to send (I have ABSOLUTELY no idea how) but can't get the last one to send. I keep getting the same error. I tried deleting and re-installing Acrobat. The file is not in the same location as my server. The only difference from the other 3 documents is the content. They were all generated the same way (SmartPDF in Altium). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any tip or solution anyone, please?

  • Mac using Acrobat Pro v9 can't connect to shared review hosted on Sharepoint server.

A person at our company has a Mac with Acrobat Pro v9 and can't connect to our shared review hosted on a Sharepoint server. The shared review is initiated from a PC using Acrobat Pro X.
They can access/login to the Sharepoint server via Safari on the same computer both inside the company and from outside.
They used to have it working just fine for months, then suddenly (recently) it stopped working and it just keeps saying that it can't connect.
When trying to connect, Acrobat doesn't ask for credentials. I've tried hunting down where those credentials are stored to try and delete them to force it to ask again, but no luck there either.
I also have a Mac (but I'm running Acrobat Pro XI and now DC) and I can access the same shared review that doesn't work for them. And I can't seem to break it for me (as an effort to figure out their problem).
Any helpful guidance on how to get things back on track would be greatly appreciated. My head hurts from beating it against my desk. :-|
    Thanks!

Several of us encountered the same issue running MAC OS X on Acrobat Pro XI.  I'm tagging your question to see if someone provides a solution.

  • Shared review feature between Acrobat 9 pro and Adobe Reader???

I have a question about Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro & the Shared Review feature.  I hope that it allows me to take a pdf document, share it with others that only have the free Adobe Reader (not Standard or Pro Acrobat), and allow them to markup the document and send it back to me so I can save  the new  marked up pdf document.  Is that what Shared Review does, or do the others have to also own a paid copy of some Acrobat program (Standard, Pro, etc.)?
    Thanks in advance!

That’s correct. Others can participate using Reader in the shared reviews.
