SI 1260 : pb with sweep fmin 1Hz

Labview program for sweep measurement works with fmin>=1Hz but refuses to "read single" (time out) when fmin is put inferior to 1Hz. Why ? What is the blocking parameter using Read Multiple ?

laetitia,
This is a very confusing post and I am not sure what your real question is. Are you using an instrument driver for a GPIB instrument? If so, which one? What version of LabVIEW are you using?
Please post a more clarified question so that we can respond. Thank you.

Has anyone setup subject print wervier with the router successfully? The DHCP address for setup iand connection are not a problem. The net based software allows you to make setup on the unit and shows connection to the network when connnected to the router, however when the unit is disconneted from the router it is not accessible form laptop "My Network Places" in Win XP Pro as per the manufacturer insturctions. UPnP has been enabled so theroetically any device with those settings should work, however, this one doesnt. I got rom Ebay so it proabely was defective as I believe some models had defective ROM chip or was passord protected. I tried static IP addresses set to unit same as connected IP, gatteway settings and DNS server so the default of 192.168.xxx was changed to 192.168.7 which the router had at the ethernet connected wjhich would be the same wirelessly assigned by DHCP? In any event, this one can't be set up but I was just currious if anyone had been successfyl with this unit.

  • Estimating resonant frequency by sweeping the frequency from 100 Hz to 500 Hz

    Hi
Actually, I need to do open loop system to vibrate the structure from 100 Hz to 500 Hz to find the resonant frequency. I have tried to build the code that can actuate ( excita) the structure and measure the signal fron the sensor ( capacitive sensor). Initially, I have tested my code by generating the signal from AI12 and connected that signal to the AO0 to evaluate the code. However, I have faced two problems. firstly, the stimulus signal in acquiring code (input) is delayed by around 20ms as can be shown in attached file. Secondly, generating signal is changing every 0.01 s where start from 100 Hz to 500 Hz. in other words, at the beginning i will have one cycle and the cycle will increase every 0.01s. My question, how i calculate the FFT for each 0.01 s and at the end showing the whole result in one graph to show the resonant frequency. Could you please help at this point.
I have attached the the Vi file.

    Hi Nabilah,
Thank you again fro the the help. However, I have done what you have mentioned but i noticed in the FFT graph that estimate the frequency does not give me the right values. I have tested the code by generating the signal from AI12 and connected that signal to the AO0 to evaluate the code as can be shown in the attached file.the result what I expected from the code is to have the same amplitude at each frequency where I have connected the signal that generated from Ao0 to Ai12(channel). For example, if i run the code with sweeping frequency from 50 Hz to 500 Hz and amplitude 1 V, the result in FFT has to be at each frequency has the 0.7 amplitude (RMS).
Also, I have tried to understand the main function of Trigger.vi. Is this for detecting the signal from the input channel and generate signal as fast as possible?
    I have attached modified code.

  • Proximity sensor

when can apple give solution to the problem with proximity sensor

It appears this problem is pretty prevalent.  Apple cannot replace the sensor itself, and it has no fix for the failure.  It's pretty clear that it is a design flaw, and that apple just replaces phones under warranty to sweep the problem under the rug.  Funny thing is that no one at apple seems to admit that there is a problem, and this is years now that people have reported this problem.   Honestly, if I had known, I probably would have purchased a different phone.  I love everything about the iphone except the fact that you can't make phone calls, lol.  I had to have my phone replaced, and of course they were happy to do it at the apple store, but that's only because it was under warranty.  If not, I would be out of luck.  And of course the warranty timer doesn't reset, so eventually, I'll be out of warranty, with no solution.  I'll be the proud owner of a phone that can't actually be used to make calls.  All apple needs to do is create a function that allows someone to turn off their screen manually.  Problem solved.  It's really poor form by apple, but honestly, we have seen this from the company in the past with sweeping problems under the rug.

  • Message Keeps Popping Up

    Running OS X 10.9.5, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3.
I keep getting a pop-up message saying 'Downloading Item'. It keeps popping up, even after I click OK. I have force quit iBooks and this hasn't stopped it from coming back.

Hello, Below are some tips to better assist you.
Please be aware you want to try and use accessories that state they work with the iPhone. Please try not to use any accessories that are not designed for iPhone.
    1. Ensure that the accessory your connecting to and the iPhone itself both have clean connectors. Usually a small fine haired brush will assist with sweeping and or brushing out any small dust or other particles.
If you do not have access to some sort of soft brush, Try blowing out any possible particles in a side ways motion so it will blow the particles out sideways vs further into the connectors.
Now connect and see what happens.
    2. If needed disconnect the power to the accessory, and power down the iPhone as well. Hold down the Sleep/Lock button on iPhone till you see a slide to power off. Wait 5 min, Now power iPhone on, Then the accessory and connect.
    3. Reboot iPhone, Hold down the Home button & Sleep/Lock button together, Once you see a silver Apple logo release and allow iPhone OS to reboot. Now try accessory again
    4. Toggle Airplane Mode on if needed while using iPhone with accessory, Settings-Airplane Mode ON and turn OFF when done.
    5. If needed Restore and or Update the iPhone. Please ensure all Data you want back on the iPhone is on the PC/Mac before restoring as all data will be erased and can not be re-synced.

  • File-Previews in KDE

    Three things that bother me.
    1. since KDE 4.5 the Folder-View Widget on the desktop doesnt show any file-previews anymore.
    2. Compared to KDE 4.5 RC2 the file-preview in dolphin is much slower than before. If i have folders with a lot of files i have to wait up to 2 minutes (im on a T4200 2x2 GHz) until every preview is loaded. The same on Nautilus takes about 10-15 seconds
    3. He doesnt store the previews. When i leave the folder all previews are delated and he have to re-load them... and yes i set him up not to do it
    any ideas?
ok i take point 3 back. He stores the preview and is just awesomely slow in loading them. If i delete the previews with sweeper it takes even longer

  • Wireless Bridge 1410 vs 1310

I am trying to design Video Surveillance Solutions for foot ball field. Here, we can not pull cable from cameras to MDF the building in Campus Environment. I am trying to incorporate Cisco bridges (Point to Multipoint Environment) in order carry data from cameras to MDF. I have attached diagram for your reference. For this solution I would like to have your advice as I am planning to deploy these bridges for the first time. I have some questions for you.
1.) I am planning to use Cisco 1410 bridges instead of 1310 bridges. Do you think Cisco 1310 series would be sufficient for my application? Please advice me on antenna selections on root and non-root bridges in case of 140 and also 1310. I would like to use external antenna specially omni for root bridge and sectoral antennas for non-root. Please advice me for the best selection.
2.) As Cisco bridging solution does not have LWAPP option. I was thinking of using WLSE for managing those bridges but I came to know that is on its EOL. Do we have any other option?
-Do we have to have separate appliance for WLSE? Can you advice me how should I order that? Please let me know how much bridges will be supported by WLSE (1 license)?
3.)I am thinking of using external antenna. I would like to use omnidirectional antenna for root bridge and sectoral antennas for non-root bridges. Please advice which antenna I should be using in case of 1410 and 1310 series.

I can understand your concern for the cost of the 1400 series, but the 1400 series is built for point-to-point links for up to 25 MILES!! Obviously less in cases of point-to-multipoint. The 1310 bridge can go a couple of miles as well, but the data rate is going to suffer at 2.4 GHz 'g' only. That's why I said to do some testing to verify you can get the data rates you need to support your application. The only time you actually want to use omni directional antennas with bridging are if you are creating a mesh or a repeater. For PtP to PtM, you would reduce your link budget, distance, and overall throughput by using omni directional antennas. The fact that we use the term 'point-to-point' tells you that you only want your signal to go from the root to the non-root and not elsewhere. Since we can't really contain wireless signals once they're in the air, it's up to engineers to design antennas for us that essentially cheat physics and shape the antenna pattern so that it is directional. Higher gain directional antennas will have a high 'front-to-back' ratio (F/B ratio) telling you that a certain percentage is going in front of the antenna, and a certain amount is going out the back. When the amount going out the front exceeds the amount going out the back, you begin to have a directional antenna. In addition, at larger distances, if you don't use directional antennas, it will be very difficult to align them and keep a stable connection due to the fade margin of the omni directional antennas. The bridges have a built in alignment mode with lights to help you achieve maximum throughput. When you align them, make very calculated, small changes. Don't move both sides, and don't move in both planes (horizontal, vertical). Keep your antennas pointed at one another using some binoculars or other pointing devices and get the best reading you can at the root after an initial setup. Then lock the root into place and go to the other side. Again, make calculated changes to vertical until you find the best, and then lock it down. Finish with sweeping horizontal until you get the best and lock it down. It may take you several iterations until you get it right. As for the non-root antennas, you don't want to mix antennas too much if you can avoid it, but in the case of point-to-multipoint, you've got it backwards. You want a larger angle on the root bridge, and high gain directional on the non-roots pointing back to the root. It is imperative that you know what the polarization is of each antenna (vertical vs. horizontal) and that you MATCH that polarization at both ends. Most antennas have this clearly labeled on the antenna itself, or it is specified in the user manual.
    Good luck!

  • What anamorphic settings do I need?

I have a 3886 x 1260 screen with only a 1920x1080 media player to play content on. What settings should I use to fill the native space with my media player? I can stretch the footage within my scaler but need anamorphic settings so the content is not squished.  Thank you in advance!

I'm not entirely sure what your problem is.
1920 x 1080 is 16:9 ratio.  Any new timeline (sequence) you create should be 16:9 and the settings should match those of the master footage, etc.
Provided you do that, and export as 16:9, the size or ratio of a monitor is immaterial.

  • FFT using16-bit precision numbers

    Hi,
I was recently putting together a data acquisition program to log and process data continuously over a period of a week.
    Hardware: cRIO, 9233 modules
Signal processing requirements: 50kS/s on 8 channels, performing FFTs on all channels with greater than 1Hz resolution (attempted to use 64k sample block size)
We had a fair few issues with the hardware hanging or just stopping without obvious explicit errors. The program appeared to run fine using a 32k sample block size. We assumed that it may be a RAM issue, however we haven't confirmed this.
One consideration was that all the FFT processing is performed on double precision numbers, and it did not appear possible to perform the FFT operation on single or 16-bit precision. The few FFT VIs i had a look at all used "Call library function nodes" that I could not edit.
Just interested to know if there is an easy way to edit these routines, or if anyone has created some VIs that work on varying precision numbers.
Again, not 100% sure this was the sole issue with the above program, but interested nonetheless.
    Thanks for your time.
    Cheers,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
I've looked at the FFT VIs and it seems you are correct that all of the VIs are designed to operate on double precision numbers.  As you also noted, you cannot re-write these VIs because you are using the Real-Time VIs that use dll calls.  Your best bet for varying the precision of your FFTs would seem to be designing your own, or soliciting other users for what you are looking for (as you have already done here).  You can also do the processing on double precision data, but convert back to 16-bit precision after the FFT to conserve space.  I would also recommend that you submit a product suggestion for this;  I suspect this would be useful to a lot of people!
You may also want to check out the Real-Time System Manager which is a very useful tool for monitoring your Real-Time system's performance.
I hope this gives you some helpful information!

    Eli-
I just noticed this unanswered question. I am guessing you've gotten your answer from another source by now, but in case anyone else has similar issues, I recommend our Logical Address Wizard, which helps configure multi-chassis MXI systems. Your case illustrates a common mistake when assigning LA's; having your two VXI-MXI-2's at LA 1 and 2 will not work. According to the LA Wizard, a combination like LA 4 (containing an instrument at LA 5) and LA 6 (containing an instrument at LA 7) would work.

  • Creative console launcher Titanium HD Win7, not working

    I just purchased the Titanium HD to upgrade from the Xtreme Audio. I have spend the whole day, and I literally mean the whole day on trying to solve;
"There are no supported audio device available. You need to close the application. Click OK to close the application now."
When trying to run the Creative console launcher. I have spend countless hours doing the installation all over again and again by different methods. I've tried with the CD in the package, I've tried the latest drivers and software from your website, I've tried to re-insert the sound card several times, I've tried to sweep the drivers with Sweep Driver 3.0 and removed all registry entries, folders and files with my Revo Uninstaller Pro, with no god **bleep** luck.
    At no point in time has the driver not been working. It should be all fine - sshot provided;
    http://www.myupload.dk/showfile/967847ebbe.jpg/
    Sound also works. However, I do get error when installing the driver - sshot provided;
    http://www.myupload.dk/showfile/967850f6ff7.jpg/
I Googled it and most seem to claim that application is not important and can be disabled. I have Googled the issue so many times, and found many people with the same issue, but who seem to get it working some way or another at the very end..... Just not me...
Though the card works I cannot access the cards features without it's software, and the card is therefore, basically uselsss. Had I known I'd run into this I would have picked the Asus Xonar Essence by miles! Although I did ask creative for help in an e-mail I'm afriad this is going to have to end up with a dispute between me and the retailer :/

    Your first problem is this:
You upgraded from one card to the other. Uninstaller or not, you have a ton of remnants left over from that old card.
Try this for your no supported device:
    no supported device fix
Reboot, and try again. If this does not work, then install this driver....newest for your card.
    after rebooting, try again.
If that does not work, then you can manually unzip that driver you downloaded above to a temp folder (that driver is a self extracting executable).
Then you can go to device manager and choose to update driver and browse the temp folder you made above and update your driver and reboot.
See if any of these help you.

  • Single band vs double band / omni vs dipole

    Hi
plz help me with the following
    1) differecne between double band and single band antenna
    2) does 1040 1140 1240 1260 access point support RP-TNC Connectors (antenna).
can i select these access points with any antenna wth RP-TNC Connectors
    3) what is the difference between omni and dipole antenna
(they both have circular coverage )
    Regards

    Hi,
    1) differecne between double band and single band antenna
ANS - Single-band Antennas use a 2.4-GHz band and dual-band antennas use both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz  band.
    2) does 1040 1140 1240 1260 access point support RP-TNC Connectors (antenna).
can i select these access points with any antenna wth RP-TNC Connectors
ANS - 1040 , 1140 are integrated antennas and does not have RP TNC connectors.. the 1240 and 1260 comes with RPTCN connectors to connect the antenna.
    3) what is the difference between omni and dipole antenna
(they both have circular coverage )
ANS - The below link will provide the depth info regarding different antenna.

  • When using the LabVIEW Simulation Module, how can I start a frequency sweep with the Simulation Chirp signal generation VI at an arbitrary time after the simulation initial time?

I'm using the Simulation Loop on LV RT when interacting with some hardware (i.e. all I/O is happening in the Sim loop). I'm going to conduct a frequency sweep test on the hardware and want to use the Simulation Chirp function. However, there is no way (that I can see) to trigger the Chirp to start at some event (i.e. I click a boolean on the front panel and enter a case statement). The Chirp is tied to the global time of the Simulation loop and so are it's input parameters. Is there a way to make it relative to some time at which an event happens?

    Craig,
Your solution will 'cut' the beginning of the signal and only show the signal afterwards.
To control when the chirp should start, the best option is to use the Chirp Pattern.vi ( in the Signal Generation palette) and use a Lookup table to control when to feed the time. The shipping example (in LabVIEW 2013) shows how to code using a lookup table.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2013\examples\Control and Simulation\Simulation\Signal Generation\SimEx Chirp.vi
Then, to start from a toggled boolean, look at the example:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2013\examples\Control and Simulation\Simulation\Signal Generation\SimEx Step.vi
and Here is the example in 2013 (in attachment):

  • Problems with getting accurate power readings during sweep

Ok, so I have an Agilent N1912A power meter with N1921A power sensors on Ch A & B. I have RF power (from signal generator/ amplifier) going into input of a coupler, then Ch A connected to the coupling  and Ch B connected to the coupler output. I am trying to measure the loss of the coupling (nominally 20 dB)  by just taking the difference in power readings (Ch B- Ch A).  I  have a VI  to read the power from both channels as a signal generator sweeps through different power levels. For the most part it works, except the problem is I am a getting strange "kink" in power reading whenever the power sensor reading is around -10 dBm...see first image attached. Because of this, i get over 0.5 dB change in the coupling loss i am trying to measure, which is unacceptable.
Now with extensive troubleshooting I have ruled out things like amplifier having unstable gain, or faulty sensors. One interesting thing I have noticed - it tends to improve significantly when i change sweepintervals to be much smaller (e.g. 0.1 dB intervals instead of 0.5 dB), which makes me think it is something I'm not setting properly in my VI when I am reading the power from each channel. If i use 0.1 dB intervals the kink is much smaller..resulting in a more stable measurement of coupling loss. See second image attached.
Anyway, wondering if there are any ideas what could be the source of the issue.  As you can see from the images, this always happens at -10 dBm..dont' know what's so special about  -10 dBm  (where's the shrug emoticon?? ) Anyway,  I know can greatly alleviate this problem by always using really small intervals of 0.05 dB or something, but that is just so not practical for my application...(would be too slow). I want to be able to use 0.5 dB intervals and have smooth power readings.

So what are you trying to accomplish here?  I would be more interested in a coupler's response over frequency.  Usually if you're talking about gain/loss over power, you are measuring the characteristics of an amplifier.  (Which I understand you aren't doing, as the DUT is the coupler.)
