Signal recovery 7225 lock-in - Dumping curve buffer issue

Hi there
I am programming an experiment that requires me to take data fast using the curve buffer of my lock-in amplifier (Signal Recovery 7225). I have been using the supplied vi files in labview, but seem to be having a problem with the read buffer vi. I get a file but it only contains the names of the variables I am measuring, no data. I would be very grateful for any assistance. The vi is attached.

Hi Guys
I fixed it! I went into the curve buffer vi and removed the select function that input the dump curve comman string. It had been selecting the dump curve as decimal values instead of the dump curve as a binary command. The labview VISA function seems to prefer binary input. The fixed it and the ammended vi is in the attached library as Read Curves from Buffer Binary Set.vi.

I am trying to connect a Lock In Amplifier - Manufacturer: AMATEK , Signal Recovery 7270 DSPLock In Amp.I downloaded their drivers and labview codes to check interfacing of the device.
When I run the main vi, it runs and shows no error code but the magnitude and phase data can not be read on the front panel (OUTPUT), which I expect it should read from the Lock In.
I checked the block diagram,there is a sub vi called: initialize.vi which gives an error code: -1223 , LabVIEW: Instrument identification query failed.
How do I get rid of this error. what does it mean?
Lock is connected to MAX, it shows device is running properly and also the VISA interactive control worked fine.
I am attaching the .llb file for this Lock In.
Main vi (orginal by AMATEK)is saved by file name: SR7270 Front Panel-Single Reference Mode.vi
I want to plot the Oscillator Frequency against the Osc. Amplitude but as OUTPUT is not showing a change in data, graph is also not showing any data.
Can anyone please suggest what is going wrong in the vi.

How do I get rid of VISA Error -1073807339?

This is still in continuation to the problems I am facing with the Lock In Amplifier. The codes and drivers are absolutely perfect even though they were initially designed for LV 8.2 Version.

Signal Recovery 7230 lock in

Hi
Does anyone have drivers for SR7230 lock in amplifier ? The "official" ones are scary .. worst than many Rube Goldberg posts on this forum... (stacked sequences with up to 24 cases !) . More, these drivers use a lot of local variables so one needs to use only these or not at all (there is a danger of not updating the local variables...).

Sorry to hear of the difficulties your have experienced. Contact me off-board at [email protected] and I'll do my best to help with specific queries.
Points to note:-
1) If using the dual modes, remember that to read an output you must append a 1 or 2 to create the right command - so X -> X1 or X2, MAG -> MAG1 or MAG2.
2) For simple applications, use the Getting Started VI as the basis for your code - and just replace the single VISA Write/Read VI with a series of them to send the commands you want and read the outputs.
3) The local variables in each configure VI allow them to keep a state record in the software so that when called repeatedly in a loop (as with the example soft front panels) commands are only sent to the instrument when a control is changed. As noted by one contributor you can always force the settings to be sent by setting the Update Boolean to true.
4) The driver can be used to support multiple instruments - you just open a VISA session to each one and then wire the VISA session for the given lock-in through the VI's you want to communicate with that unit. The local variables in each instance of the configure VIs remain local to that instrument.

Newport ESP 300 error with Signal Recovery 7280 DSP

We bought a new lock-in amplifier (Signal Recovery 7280 DSP) for higher frequency to replace our older version (Signal Recovery 7265 DSP). There are not a lot need to be modified in our labview program since the commands are the same for 7280 and 7265.
But the error then came up. The ESP 300 always beeps to show there are some error. But I can not find out why.
Here is how we use these two devices:
Step 1. Computer read signal from 7280 DSP lock-in amplifier.
Step 2. Computer controls ESP 300 to move a certain step size of a linear stage.
Step 3. Determining whether linear stage finish the step motion or not (use command MD?). If yes, then go back to Step 1 (read signal for each step stage moves). If not, determine again until the motion is finished.
When I do highlight execution, I can see sometimes it took longer time for the step 3 to finish. And when this happened, ESP 300 would beep. The step size I was doing is very small so it should finish in a very short time. And, when I use Signal Recovery 7265 lock-in, never had this problem.
Need to be point out is before this loop from step 1-3. I had stage move to initial position, which normally need long time to move, where I also use the same commands for determining whether stage finished moving (MD?). And there are never errors or beeps.
So, I do not know where the problem comes from, seems it is the combination between lock-in and ESP 300.
Is there anyone can help me with this problem? Really appreciate it. I bothers me so much.

Can I lock the volume curve to the track so it moves with the track?

I can't seem to move the volume curve when I move the section or track. Is it possible to lock the volume curve to the track or section? Otherwise I have to recreate the curve for that section or track which seems so completely inefficient that I can't imagine that is how it is supposed to be done.

Light-locker core dumps

Per this suggestion to uninstall xscreensaver and install light-locker, I decided to give this a whirl using the latest xfce4 packages. I find light-locker core dumping when I try to use it. Anyone else?

I installed this and tried it on 2 separate laptops for you and got the same error on both. One has testing and community testing repository enabled and the other doesn't but exactly the same error on both. Newbie to linux but hope that helps.

I am trying to control an HP 8350B sweep oscillator. I have an Agilent PCI-GPIB card installed on my computer and have set it up to run with labview. I installed NI VISA, followed by Agilent IO libraries and activated the Tulip passport in NI MAX.
I tried turning on the "enable agilent GPIB cards for 488 programs" in Agilent IO libraries and checking the VISA test panel for WRITE and READ, but I get the timeout error: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed signal recovery
On moving to labview, when I configure the VISA Serial it gives me this error
Error -1073807331 occurred at Property Node (arg 2) in VISA Configure Serial Port (Instr).vi->8350_VISA.vi
and the possible reason is
VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF001D) The specified attribute is not defined or supported by the referenced resource.
Subsequently on removing the VISA Serial, I get errors in Write and Read with the possible reason being
VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed.
Help !!

Moving to LabVIEW makes no sense if you get a timeout error in the VISA test panel and doing any sort of serial configuration makes even less sense. What query did you use with the test panel? Did you confirm it exists in the manual? Did you enable GPIB on the instrument?

Dump spool buffer to a file

Hi,
I have a requirement to capture spool job and sending it to file.
I am retrieving the output of one spool request and sending it to a file using 'TRANSFER' statment in a loop.
it is taking too long time to complete this process..
is there any other way to, dump the buffer to a file at one instance?

Lock phone Blackberry curve 9300

Hi I have taken-on my daughters phone without a manual, and have purchased a blackberry case for it. The phone has been fine using the case until now when I lock the phone and put it into the case it un-locks itself and have noticed on the bar where your emails and texts come up on it has the letters H-T and I have no idea what it means or whether it has a connection to the lock.

Recovery mode doesn't mean that all your data is already lost. You only lose your data if you restore it.
When you plug the phone is into iTunes hold down the home button. iTunes may then give you the option JUST to update the software first. This should not get rid of any data.
However, if iTunes is only giving you the option to RESTORE and update, then you will lose your data I'm afraid.

Buffer issue

Hello guys,
I am facing issue becuase of the buffer very frequently.
The agent assignment fails because of this. As soon as I refresh the buffer, it works fine.
Is there a permanent solution for this?
We are in the testing phase in the Quality system. There were no transports which went through for workflow in the past few days. But still the buffer issue came up. NO change was done to the Org.structure also recently.
Can anyone explain and provide the solution?

Could you answer my questions:
1. Where is the user reading his emails, in SBWP? Or UWL?
2. When you do the buffer refresh, do the existing workflow instances start sending workitems again or do only new workflows send workitems?
If the answer to 2. is existing workflow instances, then what is happening with these workflows in the meantime? Does the workflow log show that it has reached the appropriate step and it has the correct agents, but the users just can't see it in their inboxes?
Doing SWU_OBUF is not a problem in production, it causes a small performance dip (as far as I understand it) but it's certainly not something you want to be doing all the time.
When this is resolved please be sure to post the solution here.

Buffer Issue in CRM2007 Interaction Center

Hi Experts,
We are facing one buffer issue in IC and the detailed process is:-
1) We open any account in IC and based on that account we have an Alert Ex:- Alert1.
2) Now we end the interaction and leave the IC window open.
3) Now we open a new WebClient session and change the alert message of the same BP to Alert2.
4) Now when we confirm the same BP again in the opened window of IC it still displays us the old Alert1
This problem is because the changes that we have done using WebClient is not available in IC and IC is reading the data from old buffer.
Any inputs or help will be highly appreciated.

Do you mean the u201CDial Padu201D button?? How should it work? Does it take the phone number of the customer confirmed in the IC?
In our case, when we click on this button, we have the option of writing a phone number and click later on Select. Does the u201CSelectu201D button launch the outgoing call??
In previous versions, we had the option (In CIC0) to select the Customer or the Contact Person and click on the Call button, action that automatically took the phone number and prepared the call with this number? Is it able to reproduce the same behaviour in CRM 2007??

ACE: buffer issue?

I implemented an ACE for "ACCOUNTCRM" and event background job is triggered to update the trace table whenever an account is created. However, I notice that the results return is incorrect due to some buffer issue which i suspect.
My scenario is agent in group A is only allowed to see accounts in group A (based on certain criteria). If the agent created an account in WebUI which does not meet the ACE rule, this new account should not appear in all account searching result list. But in my implementation, the new account is shown in the result list and which is wrong.
I tried to trace using the ACE simulator and I got correct result list. And If I launch a webUI to do the account creation, then log off or using another session to do searching, correct result list is displayed. However, if I create the account, followed by searching for the account at the same WebUI session, then the result list is wrong.
Anyone encountered such problem?

Problem with playback distortion. Possible latency buffer issue?

I have noticed a few other posts in the same vain as this but with no clear answers so here is my take on the problem:
I am experiencing a distorted slowed down playback through logic pro 8 only occasionally which can only be fixed wit a full system restart. It sounds very much like a latency/buffer issue but to be honest I am not too great at fixing this myself. I have tried to change the buffer size to no avail. Recording seems to be fine mostly but it is just on playback. Although today i did experience the same sound issues when recording.
I am using a brand new macbook 2.4 ghz with a behringer xenix 1622 mixing desk and a usb audio device. I have only just switched to a mac and have recorded before on my pc with the same desk and interface for over 2 years without a problem, so I am positive it is not the external hardware that is at fault.
I am getting exactly the same problem when I use Garageband.
Is it just the apple products which do this?
Is this a common problem with an easy fix?
I just dont know to be honest with you, i dont pretend to be an expert in the field, it is infuriating.
Is there a problem with my machine? If so I can change it no problem.
Please if anyone knows how I can sort this please let me know.

Can you be more specific on your usb device; Make & model... USB2? Visit the manufacturer's website, check compatibility & make sure you've got the latest driver. If you haven't already, run "Software Update" (under the Apple logo in the top left of your screen) & download the updates... this will take a while, so go & get yourself a coffee! Make sure you turn Airport off when you want to use Logic.
