Signature not appearing above quoted text

I am experiencing an issue using signatures in Leopard Mail.app 3.0.
Selecting *+Place signature above quoted text+* will only place the sig above the text if a signature is used by default.
If I set my default signature to None -- which I prefer -- and then manually select a signature in the message compose window, it is placed below the quoted text.
I have replicated this with multiple accounts and signatures.
Anyone else seeing the same?

Here's a simple workaround that seems to work reliably - will suffice until I have time to dig into the Safari 3 issue deeper...
For all of my mail accounts that have multiple signatures, I choose one sig from the "Choose Signature" drop-down menu in the Signatures section of Mail's prefs. Be sure to check the "Place signatures above quoted text" checkbox.
This places the chosen sig above the quoted text when you do a reply, and you can later choose any sig from the Signature drop-down menu in the reply window and it will replace the default sig, and remain properly positioned above your quoted text.
Going a step further, create a new signature (I named mine "Default Signature") and use a space for the actual signature. After you compose your reply, simply choose the sig you want to use and it will correctly paste in above the quoted text - this is about as close as you can get to the functionality lost with Leopard / Safari 3.

I have this identical problem. For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad. Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something. Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads. I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time) Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc. There still hasn't been a solution.

Text caption is timed to appear at 2 seconds, but you have a click box at 0sec. Its duration is very short, which means that I cannot see if there is a pause. I suspect this click box is pausing at the end of its timeline, which is at 0.3secs and the Text caption at 2 seconds will not appear before the user has clicked on that click box. The timeline is the core of Captivate, learn at least how to read it.

If you want the green text caption 'Click on...' to appear right at the beginning of the slide, you have to check its Timing accordion: set it to start at 0 secs instead of 2 secs and extend its duration to the 'rest of the slide'.
I don't know what is in the Group. That group and the HIghlight box will disappear at 3 seconds. Or maybe the action that is triggered by the Clickbox is different from 'Continue'?

Contact names not appearing in group text

When sending a group text the contact names do not appear but the phone numbers do, is there a way to change this? Phone is a Z30 STA100-5

I didn't have the problem when returning from International, but I did have the problem right after my new Verizon iphone was set up last week.
After reading some of the posts in the support forum, I first edited my contacts to include the +1 in front of the phone numbers (this may have been an unnecessary step, and it certainly was an annoying one).
Second, I used the *228 set up feature, closed the phone, contacts and text functions on the phone, then turned the phone off and back on, and it seemed to fix the problem for the most part. I think if you search the forum for *228, you will find posts that have the full sequence of steps to follow..
I have other issues with my phone, but at least this one seems cleared up for now.

Signatures not appearing

We have documents that require signatures when complete. Recently we ran into an instance where it appeared on one pc that the document was not signed, but when viewed on another pc the signature was there. All machines are running Acrobat Standard 8.0. On another document the signature date was 9/17/10 on one pc and 9/22/10 on another. In both cases the document was signed by the same person. I should also add that if the documents are viewed in another pdf viewer (Foxit) the signatures are there and correct. Is this a problem with preference settings in some instances of Acrobat and not others? Or a problem with the signing individual?

With regard to the signed vs. not signed issue, if I were to take a guess I would say that you are looking at two different files on the two different computers. The signature is not going to disappear just because the file was moved from one machine to another. When the file is signed the cryptographic signature object is written into the PDF file (which is why signing requires a Save operation). You could be looking at the original unsigned file on one computer and the signed file on the other computer.
When you mention dates, are you talking about the date you see in the signature appearance, or, the date you see on the Signature Properties dialog?
The date you see in the form field is written in before the signature is created and cannot be changed without breaking the signature. However, the date on the Signature Properties dialog could be the verification time, which is a preference the user can set (e.g. current time vs. signing time).

Yeah, I have 4 email accounts associated with my BB, all of them have a signature associated. Everything appears to be configured correctly so I don't know what the deal is. Look's like a glitch?

Why doesn't my mail signature appear above the quoted text?

Despite checking the box "place signature above quoted text" in Mail preferences signatures, my signature continues to appear at the bottom of the reply. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I keep hoping a software update will fix this problem. Do I need to trash my preferences or trash all of my signatures and start over. OS 10.9.3

I wonder if there is a way to trash prefs without losing my mailbox settings...
I don't think so, which is why I did not try that.

Signature NOT coming on top (Checked the option as well)

When I check the box for "place signature above quoted text", the signature is still displayed at the bottom of the email when adding a signature manually. This is really frustrating since I respond to a client and then use a signature at the end of the email in all of my emails. Currently, when the box is checked, the signature is always placed at the bottom. Is there anything I can do about this? If I cannot resolve this, I'll have to move back to Entourage and all of the work moving will be wasted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is driving me mad too.
I have just tested this and found that if I have selected a signature in the Preferences using Choose Signature and checked Place signature above quoted text then the selected signature does get placed correctly.
If one then replies to an email this default signature will be used, but it can be changed to another signature and this change replaces the signature text above the quoted text. So use a default signature that is general but applicable to all recipients then have client specific signatures that can be selected from the list.

Yes, I have the Japanese version of ID installed (in the same location as the English as far as I know).
The World Ready Composer was turned off. I turned it on and no changes occurred, but beneath that command is the Japanese Paragraph Composer.
When I turned the Japanese Paragraph Composer on, the ruby text (small characters that appear above the kanji) appeared as in the screenshot provided below:

Signatures always appear at bottom of email

Although I have the "place above quoted text" button selected - the signature ALWAYS places at end of message. I have checked and unchecked - no difference.
I repaired permissions / ran cocktail / rebuilt mailboxes - just about anything related and secondarily related to mail in an attempt to clear this bug. Just presented itself within the last month or so? I need to cut and paste the signature to match up with my written message.
Any ideas?

I'm sure it works for you - it worked for me as well until a few weeks ago. I suspect this is a perfect storm type issue which only comes into play if several parameters are in line at the same time.
As I mentioned - there are others who have experienced this over the past few years which leads me to believe it isn't closely related to an upgrade (although maybe it was triggered that way).

Cursor does not appear on Facebook page load. Spacebar shifts page down.

Cursor does not appear anywhere on Facebook page load. It used to land in the first text box, and as I was used to this I would open an FB page and start typing. Nothing was entered into the text box, and when I hit Spacebar it shifts the page down.
Couple of things:
It acts this way both in normal and in "safe mode".
It acts correctly on Google - it is my home page and when I open it the cursor is always in the search box. It also acts correctly on YouTube.
The cursor DOES NOT appear in the URL bar (thankfully)
The cursor DOES NOT appear in any text boxes on any other pages I open >> The Weather Channel, TED.com, Amazon.com
The Spacebar scrolls the screen down one frame at a time.
It has the same behavior with the "Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages
I am using FF 18.0.1 on Windows XP
I have tried a lot of the weird tips and tricks suggested on this support forum, but none of them address specifically this issue.

If I'm not logged on then the cursor is in the login form at the top.<br />
Once logged in the main body has focus and not a specific element, so you have to click in an input filed to set focus to it.
If it worked before then they have changed the code of that page recently and it is just a coincidence that it happened around the time that Firefox updated.

Blue waves not appearing in Precision Editor

When I click the blue audio icon in Precision Editor, the blue waves do not appear
above and below the clip filmstrip. What do I do? Why are they not appearing?

The precision editor includes video and its associated audio, additional audio tracks such as from itunes are treated as extras and therefore don't display their waveform, which can otherwise be seen by selecting the audio track and using clip trimmer. Sorry i didn't fully understand your question to begin with.

The graphic HTML signature panel does not appear in my Mac mail. I have inserted the signature after reading on the forum. But the images do not download - the rest of the text in the signature is in place - just the logo and the baseline which is a graphic file does not download. Please help.

Graphics/ images such as book covers do not appear on amazon website. Text appears instead of image.

When going to the web site amazon.com the extensive graphics does not appear. Where there should be an image of a book, instead there is text. I have tried reinstalling Firefox and it does nothing. Other than this image problem Firefox works fine.
Photographs on the NYTimes website appear with no problem.
At the time of installation of Firefox a warning appeared to the effect that a program was attempting to load which might make Firefox unstable. It asked whether I wanted to load the program (add on/plug in).
I said no.
At that point the problem arose.
I am using Windows 7 operating system.
All images show with no problem when using Explorer.

It is possible that you clicked "Block Images" in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.
Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]

Text boxes not appearing - CAPTIVATE1.1

I have a number of delegates using Cap1.1 - on some machines
when recording screens, the automatic text boxes are not appearing
when the recording has finished. (the "text box" option is checked
on all PCs in the custom options settings)
I`m sure i`ve heard this could be something to do with Flash
players - I checked one of the machines that is facing the issue
and its using Flash 9.

Sorry, I only keep the current version and one version back
due to storage limitations. I would note that there are few things
more difficult than to suggest a correction for an "intermittent"
problem, but I'd have to say an intermittent problem
on a version that was replaced years ago would definitely
qualify as the most difficult of all.
That said, maybe we can offer some help if we knew what the
problem was. You don't really say, except that some text-captions
on some machines are not appearing. That is not really helpful in
troubleshooting.
What is being recorded - exactly?
Where is it being recorded from - Internet, local drive,
etc.?
What are the delegates (what's a delegate?) doing at the time
they expect, but are not getting, automatically-generated
text-captions?
I am relatively certain that the problem (if I understand
that part), has nothing at all to do with the Flash Player version
installed, but beyond that, I'm sorry that all I can offer is
questions instead of answers.
Welcome to the User-to-User forums, hardyandy. Hopefully you
can give us enough additional information that we can take a stab
at helping out.
