Simplifying the UWL 'Show Filters' option

In EP7 (2004s) the default UWL filtering option is more complex than we would like, all we want is for users to search by a text string on their work items as per our old release (EP6).
The UWL documentation states that the link 'Show/Hide Filter' can be hidden but there is no mention whether this can be customised.
The options 'High Priority', 'Due Date' and 'Sent Date' are irrelevant for our views hence we would like to remove them even if this required amendment to the SAP standard UWL code.
I've looked in the PAR files com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl and com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.ui but I can't find where these options are in order to remove them.
Does anyone know how the filter can be modified?

I would be vitally interested to know how you removed the show/hide filters option from the UWL overview. I also have searched the XML files and other config and could not find a means to accomplish this. Your advice would be appreciated.

You'll have to modify the UWL configuration file and use the defaultViewFilter attribute :

Any way to set the Finder "Show View Options" across all folders on MacBook Pro?

Hello. I would like to know if there's a way to set one Finder / folder view setup (Show View Options) across every folder and sub-folder on OSX?
I don't like having to manually set up the "view options" for each and every folder from scratch .. I have 1 setup / template that I like and would like to apply it across the board to every folder that I ever open on OSX..
Is this possible?

At the bottom of the window that opens in Show View Options there should be a button that enables you to make the current settings the default.

Error in 'Customize the look of the UWL main page'

We need to hide a column of UWL. For that we try:
In System admin/UWL Administration/Configure item types and customize views using a wizard:
'Customize the look of the UWL main page' option. In Tasks tab, 'Customize the View' button we get the following error: java.lang.ClassCastException. Exception ocurred during procesing of Web Dynpro application sap.com/tckmcbc.uwl.ui~wd_admin/UWLControlCenterConfiguration.
Please, we need to show this page, can you help me???

What is the version of the UWLJWF component that you are using, including patch level? Do you have to do this for all user id's or can you personlize the display only per person? If you can just personalize the UWL per person you can do this from the personalize option from the context menu. Once you invoke the personalize option, select the column that you want to hide via the dropdown menu, remove from current view and click save.
If you need to do this portal wide, you can do it through the wizard or update the xml file yourself.
To update the xml file:
Example for the default view

Above in this code you will see the following for the DefaultView:
columnOrder="subject, isEscalated, creatorId, createdDate, priority, attachmentCount, dueDate, status"
Here you can remove the columns that you do not want all users to see. Rename the xml file (but keep the uwl.standard on the system) and upload your new xml file with high priority. I just tested this on our internal test portal and it worked fine.

TV Show Sync Options

I've got iTunes 7.5 running on Windows XP. I have a lot of different TV shows, that I have sync'd to my iPod. Currently, it's syncing all unwatched episodes of every show. I'm getting close to full on my iPod. I noticed in the TV Show sync options on the iPod, it has options for syncing only 5 or 10 of the most recent, unwatched shows. This sounds great! I can keep current with all my shows, but this will allow me to have more variety of shows, without filling up the iPod...but here's the catch.
Let's use Lost as an example. Let's say I've got all 24 episodes of Season 1 of Lost in iTunes. If I choose to sync only the 5 most recent unwatched episodes, iTunes is going to put episodes 20-24 on my iPod, even though I haven't watched episodes 1-19 yet! If I do it this way, I'm going to watch season 1 of Lost backwards, in 5 episode chunks!
But I don't see an option to watch the 5 OLDEST unwatched episodes. This would make much more sense to me...
Does anyone else have this problem?

EVERYONE has that problem! Whoever at Apple decided that TV shows are watched newest first was an idiot. Instead of "Most recent unplayed," the useful option would be "Oldest unplayed." After all these updates to iTunes, we're still waiting for them to wise up.
For this reason I sync all unplayed shows BUT checked items only. I checkmark the oldest eps of the series so only those eps go to my Touch. This was the easiest way to achieve the desired result, easier than designing and nesting smartplyalists. The shows will still be upside-down on the Touch (Episode 3, Episode 2, Episode 1) but you can see which is which to play them in order.

Pagetoolbar not showing personalize option

I am trying to preview the original Page Title Bar under portal content.
Although Show Personalization Option is slected I do not see its icon.
I run of course with administrator previliges. Somehow I suspect that the original par file
pagetoolbar.par.bak is corrupt. My question: is it possible to retrieve the original par file??

Try this.
1) Go to Content Administration --> Portal Content --> Content Provided by SAP --> End user content --> Standard Portal Users
2) Open the Default Framework Page.
3) Set the iview Page Title Bar and click in button Properties.
4) Set the parameter Show 'Personalize' Option to YES.
5) Salve

Add the Show Filters, Hide Preview and Refresh links from the UWL

I've searched the forum and was unable to find an answer to this question. In the UWL main screen, "Show Filters" and "Hide Previiew" appear in the right corner of the UWL iView (not in the tray, on the actual iView).
I would like to add "Refresh" link there as well. This doesn't appear to be handled in the iView properties or the XML file. We've done this before, but I can't seem to remember how.
Has anyone else done this?

The Mac uses a highly-parameterized universal Driver for every display. The parameters are set at certain times when a query is sent to your display. The display MUST answer with its name and capabilities, or the screen stays dark. A TV set that is off or "not paying attention" because it is set to a different port when the query occurs will rarely answer, and so will often remain dark.
You can use tools in the System Report to see whether your display has been detected at all. If it has, the report will look something like this, but its name will appear:
The times when the query is sent are:
• at Startup
• at wake from sleep
• when the Mac-end of the cable is inserted
• when using the Option ( Detect Displays ) button in displays preferences

Click on your preference and check the Parental tab for possible restrictions. Open iTunes, then click the iTunes menu, select preferences after the window opens click on the Parental icon, take a look at the content restrictions section.

Safari's cookies is broken, either intentionally or it's a bug.

The custom style mapping option text still maintains the word formatting or it shows a style override in the InDesign style - how do I correct this?

When I tell the custom style mapping option to format a Word style (from an rtf document) with the InDesign style, the text still maintains the word formatting or it shows a style override in the InDesign style. I have a large document that needs to import the styles correctly and I've followed the tutorials exactly however the placed text is still hanging onto the word RTF styles. I want the rtf text to convert to my InDesign styles completely without overrides.

I actually need the cell styles. That's what sets my font, spacing, and GREP styles.
I did find the solution today. In the table style or table setup, I needed to set the "Stroke Drawing Order" to "Column Strokes in Front". Even though it was previously set to "Best Joins" and I had no strokes for rows or for the table borders, it just wasn't giving priority to my dotted columns.
