Site pages missing after conversion

Hi: I had a site which had been built in GL1. Today I opened GL2, asked to open the site. The dialogue box appeared saying..."created in earlier version...do you want to convert", and I said yes. I had brought another GL1 site into GL2 this way with no problem. The menus created in MenuMachine
opened without a problem.
With this site however, something went very wrong. I converted and opened the site; however, the menus which were created in Menumachine could not be accessed. Per the instructions from MM, I installed MM2 manually into GL2.
However, when I reopened the converted site, it was far worse. Almost all of the site pages are simply missing. The pages which do appear are missing most (but not all) images, including background images - which makes sense as the image file for the site is missing almost all of the site images.
Any ideas what I did wrong or what could have happened? Or - more importantly - any idea if this problem can be fixed in any way?? This is an enormous worry, as the site is very large. As I said, I brought another GL1 site into GL2 with no problems at all. MM worked without an issue on that occasion.
Please let me know if you have any ideas as to how to proceed.

Oops! I found the solution. Apparently the newer Wiki server does not automatically create links to the created pages so these must be done manually. I think this is a new behavior since I did not have this problem with 10.5. Anyway, I'll have to manually recreate all of the links... Bummer!

    I first tried reuploading the files, next I got rid of the desktop folder and republished a new one then uploaded, then I deleted what was on the server and tried again. Nothing is working and i don't know where to begin to fix this.
    the site is www.stairstepstosuccess.com. I notice when I get that error is only says stairstepstosuccess.com (without the www.) and wasn't sure if that was telling to someone more informed.
    any help would be greatly appreciated- I'm losing sleep over this

    wow! I didn't work for hours last night- which of those steps would you suspect did the job? Or, is there just a delay sometimes?

  • Tags created in album are missing after conversion

    I had created an extensive catalog with numerous custom tags in Album 2.0. When I convert my catalog in Elements 7.0 none of my custom tags show up. Is there a way to retrieve these, or do I have to start over (ouch...)

    When I had first tried to get my Album 2.0 catalog into 7.0 I used the "get photos" menu on a backup of my Album 2.0 catalog. This resulted in the photos coming in, but none of the custom tagging. Since then I have successfully used "restore catalog from CD, DVD or Hard Drive" menu option and after it had restored the catalog I was prompted to convert it to 7.0, which I did. All my tagging, notes, captions came over and all is well! I have only ever had Album starter, Album 2.0 and Elements 7.0.

  • WHY are there pages missing in my HTML to PDF conversion?!?

    Hello all~
    upon converting/saving webpages to a PDF file (using the "Convert Webpage to PDF" command), there are pages occasionally missing after the conversion. Sometimes the pages are completely gone & sometimes you can see the pysical page, but it is emply/blank! I've adjustted the settings & such without any success. Please, if anyone can help me, it would be MUCH appreciated!

    I perhaps should have been more specific, as to the particular details surrounding my problem. Actually, "graffity" got me pointing in the right direction. 1st of all, the webpage I was trying to convert to PDF was an email hosted by HotMail. So when I tried to print it using the print icon on my "Command Bar," I would had missing information. Then I noticed a printer icon contained within HotMail. Once I clicked on that icon, it reconfigured the page, whereby I was then able to select the "Convert Webpage to PDF" with the DESIRABLE RESULTS.
    In short, if anyone elst has problems saving ALL THE DATA contained within their HotMail, then you MUST 1st click on the printer icon contained WITHIN HotMail... & then you can either print to Adobe OR Convert Webpage to PDF (providing you have the toolbar add-on.

  • 'Add a Page' missing from Site Actions

    Hello,
    We are having a weird problem on our SharePoint 2013 server where the menu item "Add a page" is no longer in Site Action menu.
    All sites are publishing sites and we have custom masterpage with custom pagelayouts too. 
    We don't have other custom packages/webparts/solutions installed, everything is standard SharePoint except the masterpages and pagelayouts.
    There are no javascripts error on the pages. We are running as Site Collection Administrators. 
    The menu item was there before, it suddenly disappeared.
    We also installed the design package on another server and the menu item "Add a page" is there.
    There are errors in the logs saying:
    0x0D08 Web Content Management        
    Publishing                    
    8ts5 Unexpected
    Exception in file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\Template\Layouts\EditingMenu\SiteAction.xml: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    According to your description, my understanding is that ‘Add a page’ is missing in your site.
    Whether ‘Add a page’ occurred on a subsite at the same site collection.
    This issue seems to be caused by custom something in your master page.
    Please  deactivate and activate publishing features at site collection level and site level.
    Check whether the Wiki Page Home Page is active at the site level. 
    Then do the followings:
     1.Open IIS
     2.Click  Application Pools
     3.Select the web application pool that you use for your site
     4.Right-click it, and select ‘Recycling…’
     5.Reset IIS
    After the above, open the site again, compare the result.

    I still have this issue in Acrobat XI and MS Office Professional Plus 2010. I keep upgrading to no avail. This regression has resulted in a huge time drain for me. If you fixed it, please explain how I can get my hands on the resolution.
    Previous versions of Excel and Adobe Acrobat enabled flexibility around the "Page #" of "Number of Pages" (Page &[Page] of &[Pages]) token, depending on context and usage. The "# of pages" token could represent EITHER the number of pages in the workbook OR the number of pages in the tab/sheet, depending on how you generated the PDF:
    You could select "Selected Sheets" and then select all or some of the individual sheets in the workbook, and the PDF would honor the discrete numbering of each of the sheets, so the first page of each sheet was p1 and the "# of pages" was the number of pages in the sheet; not the number of pages in the workbook; or
    You could select "Entire Workbook" and the PDF would honor continuous page numbers across all sheets, as a single document.
    Now, it only honors the total number of pages in the workbook, regardless of the method you use to publish to PDF: saving as PDF, printing to PDF, using "createPDF" from Acrobat plugin to Excel's menu ribbon; selecting all sheets, some sheets, or Entire Workbook; automatic First page number or "1" under Page Setup > Page> First page number. (This last option, btw, does restart every sheet at p1, but it hardly makes sense if the total number of pages is still the total number in the workbook instead of the number in the sheet.)
    I spent a lot of time trying each which way that the blog posts recommended and have tried this on multiple versions of Excel and Acrobat now.
    NONE of these time-consuming experiments gave me what I wanted.They all insist that "Page #" of "Number of Pages" (Page &[Page] of &[Pages]) is the total number of pages in the workbook or the total number of pages in the selected sheets combined.
    The numbering are correct in Excel Page Layout.
    The same issue happens when using LibreOffice calc. (Although, I never tested with Libre Office before, so I don't know that it ever worked).
    The workaround now is to create PDF for each spreadsheet one at a time, and then compile them using the Acrobat combine/binder feature. All alternatives are extremely time consuming and tedious. It used to be automatic. This is a major regression that has gone untreated for over a year now, maybe two years.
    My task takes infinitely more time to complete than it did with previous versions of Acrobat. That means that days are added to my project, when the functionality used to enable a quick pdf generation that was ready for review, now I have to do this very manual time-consuming set of steps to generate a draft. As the project has grown and more tabs are added, my pdf-generation task takes that much longer. We require lots of drafts. It used to be easy and fast. Now it is hard and time-consuming.
    In my opinion, the problem is not Excel; it is Acrobat because it was introduced with an upgrade in Acrobat, not an upgrade in Excel. The problem was introduced in Acrobat 9 or 10. Please provide a patch or add-on or something.

    If you are setting up the page numbers in Excel, the resulting PDF would display the the page numbers created in Excel. On Excel 2010 support page, (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/insert-and-remove-page-numbers-on-worksheets- HA010342619.aspx#BM2) is stated the following "tip" which indicates by default Excel 2010 starts numbering each tab with 1. Exel's workaround tip is below - 
    Set a different number for the starting page
    Tip   To number all of the worksheet pages in a workbook sequentially, first add page numbers to all worksheets in a workbook, and then use the following procedure to begin the page number for each worksheet with the appropriate number. For example, if your workbook contains two worksheets that with both be printed as two pages, you would use this procedure to begin the page numbering for the second worksheet with the number 3.
    On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click the Dialog Box Launcher next to Page Setup.
    On the Page tab, in the First page number box, type the number that you want to use for the first page.
    Tip   To use the default numbering system, type Auto in the First page number box.
    Also helpful in the same section is the note on viewing page numbers. To see if the page numbering dilemma originates in Excel make sure you are using the Page Layout View see below:

    If you want numbers shown on pages when you print a worksheet  you can insert page numbers in the headers or footers of the worksheet pages. Page numbers that you insert are not displayed on the worksheet in Normal view — they are shown only in Page Layout view and on the printed pages.
    Overall it may be easier not to create the page numbers in Excel but instead create then in Acrobat using the Headers and Footers option in Acrobat.  I hope this helps - it sounds like a frustrating issue you are experiencing.

    I have hyperlinks in a Word document. Relative path links to documents in subfolders (e.g. "subfolder/subdoc.pdf") work fine after conversion to PDF using PDFMaker However, links to a parent directory (e.g. "../parent.pdf") are incorrect after conversion to PDF: the PDF file link is just "parent.pdf".
    This is in Acrobat 8 -- has this been fixed in a later version of Acrobat?
    Or, am I missing something? Wiring in absolute paths isn't acceptable.

    Thanks for the reply! You're correct; this should be under 10.5 mail services. I'm not sure how the post ended up here, though I'm sure it's my fault.
    Thanks for the information on what this file does. Permissions are a possibility, but the underlying problem is that the system is looking for the file in the wrong location. The mail isn't at /var/imap/ anymore, and I've renamed /var/imap/ to /var/old_imap/ to spot just this sort of thing. What I'm trying to find is what in the system is still pointing to /var/imap/ and trying to find a file there. If I could find that, then I could repoint it to the correct path and resolve the issue. It looks like the call is coming from postfix (with the master process), but I see nothing in the postfix config files that would make it still look at /var/imap/. That's what puzzles/concerns me.

    i was working on a document with pages. while transferring files from USB, the 'pinball' thing popped up for the longest time which lead me to force quit the document. the document had been saved before quitting. however, my macbook starts to reboot, and after rebooting that specific file is missing. Before it quit, it says that the file is locked and asked me to create a duplicate, which i clicked yes to.

  • My Tasks page in My Site doesnt appear after migration to 2013

    We have recently migrated our My Sites from 2010 to 2013. everything has been migrated without issues except that when you click on Tasks in My Site page it takes you to the About me page instead. 
    This is not the case for new users who are creating their My Site for the first time.
    Anyone has had this issue?

    Based on your description, your migrated users' MySites will go to "About me" page when click "Tasks" link from quick launch of newsfeed page (e.g. http://mysitehostsite/default.aspx) from mysite host site, but it is working for newly created
    user's mysite.
    I would suggest you open migrated mysite using SharePoing Designer 2013, see if the AllTasks.aspx page exists, if not, please check if it works with copying one from the newly created user's mysite.

After I do this, the "Convert To" box goes "gray" and I am unable to convert the document I have selected.  It was working great for the first week that I used it, but now it doesn't give me the converting option.  I am very frustrated as I have done nothing to change anything, and I was thinking this was so great...now I am just pulling out my hair and do not have the option of calling anyone since no phone numbers are listed. I am VERY busy and do not have time to sit and wait over a half an hour to "chat", which I tried to do yesterday.  All I want to do is very simply, convert pdfs to Word.  I have paid for this and am not getting any help. I am not very savvy when it comes to Adobe this program and Adobe that program...I feel I am being scammed as I do not get simple answers for something that appeared was going to be simple. You can't even call customer service to talk to someone live to help walk you through.

    Please let me know if you have tried converting any other PDF to word with Reader.
    Alos, please sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/" using your Adobe ID credentials. Click on 'ExportPDF' tab and upload the PDF that you want to convert to Word.
