Skype stuck on signing in until I restart PC

Alright, many people have made threads like this before but I usually have a somewhat different(?) problem than others.
When I boot up my computer I turn on Skype, and I put in my info and what not to sign in, but it usually has a 50/50 chance of signing in. It either gets stuck at a log in screen and I have to reboot for it to work, or It works and I am good for the day. If someone could actively help me with this issue then that would be greatly appreciated.
I hope you all have a great day!

  • Skype stuck on "signing in..."

I've been having a problem that seems to be a common issue on the forums for many Skype users.  My Skype just stays stuck on the blue "Signing in..." screen whenever I try to log on, with the white circle just continuously spinning.  For me the issue started about a month to a month and a half ago. I am running Windows Vista with the most updated version of Skype.   My Internet Explorer is 9.0.8112.16540 Can anyone help?

    1)  You can try the following:1. Open Run command (pressWin+R buttons) and in the window copy/paste:%localAppData%\Skype\Apps\and hit Enter. Location will be opened in File Explorer.2. Delete everything from that folder.3. Quit and restart Skype. Skype login window should be displayed correctly allowing you to enter your Skype credentials PLUS 2) Try now this: Go to Windows Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select 'Run as administrator'. The Command Prompt window should show: C:\Windows\System32> If this is not the case, then in the Command Prompt type:  cd c:\windows\system32 and press Enter. Type this and then press Enter: regsvr32  jscript.dll Next type this and press Enter: regsvr32  jscript9.dll After each Enter you should receive a message saying that DllRegisterServer in XXX.dll succeeded. Reboot your computer. Make now the test showing if your Internet Explorer can execute JavaScript. Open in your Internet Explorer (no other browser but only IE) this page: http://www.mistered.us/test/alert.shtml Click on the “Simply Click This Button” button and watch the response. I DID THIS 2 THINGS, this helped me.
    TRY IT ! ! !  100% WORKED FOR ME.

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

    Yes, It works.
    Solution:
    1. Exit and uninstall skype completely.
    2. Remove all other settings and data from "C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\Skype\"
    3. Restart Computer
    4. Download latest version of skype and install it again.
There was some issue with existing settings saved in AppData Skype directory. When deleted, it reset everything and new installtion setup it again with default settings.
    Thank you!

Running a mid 2009 iMac on 10.7.5, 3 gb memory, 320 gb hd.
Suddenly the computer stoped reading DVDs and the only time I can read a CD is if I restart.  Quite often when I insert a CD it gets stuck and I cannot get it out until I restart and it shows up on the desktop where I can then eject it.
I have checked and double checked the finder prefs and all looks normal showing a check mark on CDs,DVDs etc. (the ones I want to show up on the desktop)
I have reset the PEAM, repaired permissions with both the disk utility on the computer and the disk utility when I start up in the Recovery Disk.  I did notice that sometimes the permission repeat the same correction several times before it moves on, and sometimes it doesn’t. I have Windows installed on a partition but I keep it unmounted until it is needed for my wife’s work.  The dock seems to be just fine and all the apps seems to run just fine.  When I insert a photo CD iPhoto does not open but when I insert a music CD iTunes does open.
Also, most every time I open iPhoto it takes a long time(sometimes as long as 2 minutes) for it to load.
Sometimes my Mail (Mail 5.3) does not post new mail but most of the time it does.
Once and a while it seems like the computer slows way down but then it seems ok ten minutes later.
All  of these ‘things’ seemed to have happen suddenly and I have not downloaded anything from the internet in some time.
Of course the warranty and extended warranty are both no longer in effect having had this computer for more than three years.
I am running Java and Adobe Player because some of the sites I go to a lot require both.

I believe that insufficient RAM may be the source of some of your problems. If you have a RAM of somewhere 4 to 8GB, you will experience smoother computing. 3GB doesn't seem right, so you might want to learn more by going to this site:
    http://www.crucial.com/store/drammemory.aspx
I don't know what know what's happening with your optical drive, but it seems you use your drive quite a bit. In that case, look into a lens cleaner for your machine. It's inexpensive, works quite well.
I hope you'll post here with your results!

  • I can't log onto facetime on my mac.  My apple ID and password is correct and it is working on my ipad/iphone.  My facetime preferences is grayed out and I keep having to turn facetime on.  My screen gets stuck on signing in or verifying.

I have used facetime on my mac recently and have not had this problem until today.  Facetime seems to have logged out on all of my devices but after putting my password in on my iphone/ipad it is back to normal however my Macbook will not allow me to log in.  I also noticed that facetime preferences is grayed and I keep trying to turn facetime on and that is graying out as well.  I put in my email and password and I get stuck on "signing in".  Or I get past that and I verify my email and password and I get stuck on "verifying" only to get booted back to the sign in page.  My OS is up to date, my wifi is on and working and I have no firewall on my home network.  I cannot figure out how to fix this.  I have tried some previous message troubleshooting such as updating the DNS entry to add 8.8.8.8 and that did not work.  I have tried to toggle facetime on and restart but that did not work.  I can't delete and reinstall facetime as it is connected to the OS and will not allow you to do that.

I have the same problem. Unfortunately, the troubleshooting link you added has the first step listed as "Verify that FaceTime is enabled in FaceTime > Preferences" which we (the original poster and I) can't do as our Preferences are greyed out. We can't click on them to verify anything.
In FaceTime itself it's verified my apple id (also double checked via the site) and then it says the email is "verified" but then it freezes and after a minute or so it says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."
After checking the network connection, it still doesn't work. It's rather frustrating as it all worked fine until about a week or two ago.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Why does my 2012 Retina Macbook Pro's trackpad become extremely unresponsive after I plug in a USB mouse? The only trackpad command that works is the left click, I can't select text or press down and hold the trackpad to do anything else until I restart.

My trackpad becomes REALLY unresponsive after I plug in a USB mouse. It seems like the cursor is broken and stuck on a permanent left click or something. I'm unable to select text or do any other sort of action that requires you to hold down the trackpad and drag. Mouse icons don't update as I scroll over different text and links. The trackpad is usually stuck in this unresponsive state until I restart my macbook which is extremely inconvenient if I have to do this after every time I use a USB mouse. Are there any fixes to this?

    Melophage,
I don't leave it outside. Usually when I leave it overnight, I do so under the same conditions as when I leave it plugged in, and this morning I only left it for about an hour in my house and it did the same thing.
    LowLuster,
I actually have a new hard drive I bought a while back and have been meaning to switch it out with the one that's in there now. I'll follow your instruction, then make the switch I had planned on and report back.

  • Reinstall Mavericks but stuck on sign in to the app store !!

HI, yesterday i try to update Yosemite but it was not success
Then i try to reinstall Mavericks and everything is fine until i sign in an apple account .
i stuck on "signing in to the app store" and cant do anything
    what should i do?
    Thanks

    Hi .
In order to reinstall Mavericks, you have to use OS X Recovery. Not re downoad Mavericks from the App Store.
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to reinsstall OS X.
Read prior to reinstalling >  About OS X Recovery
Make sure to backup all your important data prior to reinstalling OS X.

  • Skype doesn't sign in

    Hey,
I am using skype on my laptop , tablet and android.
My skype refuses to sign in "incorrect password or skype name" , I resested the password and still it doesn't sign in on any of my devices.
I can sign in to the skype website, with the same username and password. But when I use it on the application itself it doesn't work.
In addition,  if I try to use my microsoft account, the skype recognizes the account but doesn't sign in.
    1. Anyone has a solution?
    2. How can I contact the support of Skype ( Their actual support email)?! I don't want to look for the answers in the forum, I have money on my account.
    Thanks!

This exactly describes my problem, which went from bad (i.e., intermittent) to worse (i.e., never working) after the OS 10.10.3 Supplemental Update.  I have tried many times.  But after login, Skype just spins and hanges until I force-quit it.  Except once, when it actually crashed.
Upgrading from 7.6 to 7.7 hasn't helped.  Deleting the Application Support/Skype folder hasn't helped.  Deleting the relevant Preferences file hasn't helped.

    I am using Windows 8.1

  • Apple TV3 setup reports that: "iTunes login failed - cannot sign-in until Network date and time has been set".

During Apple TV setup, I have not been able to complete the Home Sharing process. Computer/iTunes Home Sharing is setup, but ATV "blocks" its Home Sharing setup. After my Apple ID and password is entered, ATV reports a failure. Also, attempts to login to iTunes from ATV, ATV reports: "iTunes login failed - cannot sign-in until Network date and time has been set". It directs me to the Network tab, but there's no option to set date and time. I have no clue how to do that.
Help!!! Thanks in advance to anyone who knows how to solve this.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
There are things to look out for to make sure your Apple TV can reach the network time server, such as ensuring port 123 is open and only using the DNS address provided by your ISP, but since it was OK one moment and not the next, my guess is these settings are already correct.
As for the restart, did you try restarting by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.

When I sign into Skype it immediatley signs me back out. Like, when I turn on my computer, my skyper is always open. This morning it was fine, but when I got back from school it popped open and said I had to log in. I logged in, and about two seconds later, before anything even loaded up, it logged me right back out. I've been searching through the forms for about twenty minutes now, and seeing everyone else who has been having trouble simillar to this. I tried all of the things that people said to do, nothing works. I have Windows 8.1. I'm actaully getting very irritated with it at this point, so I'm just going to leave it until some one can help me, before I throw my computer at the wall. x'D
