SL clean install.... iMovieHD won't install because I have ilife '09

I did a clean install of SL.
I reinstalled several app.
I installed my copy of ilife '09 and all was good.
Until I realized that I forgot to install iMovieHD.
So I opened my downloaded copy of iMovieHD.
But it would not install.
Instead I got a warning message saying
"iMovie HD cannot be installed on this system.
Please install iLife ’08 before installing iMovie HD 6."
Really?!?
I have to downgrade to ilife 08 (to get imovieHD then upgrade back to ilife '09?
Is there not a file I can create .plist or something....
That will fool the computer and allow me to have iMovieHD 6 back?

I Googled on "install imovie hd 6 snow leopard" and turned up many threads, etc., that I think you would be interested in. Some deal with exactly your issue. Good luck.

  • AIR seems to install but won't install any AIR apps

I installed AIR on Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise Edition, and it seems to install OK (no error messages).  But when I go to install an AIR app (Yammer desktop in this case) it will not install the app and I never see the installer come up.  This is a new computer that never had AIR on it.  First I went ot the Yammer site to load the app there, as I did on my XP computer.  The install started, but hung up.  I was at work, so I let it sit for a few hours, but it was still hung.  I then rebooted and tried to install using the offline installer.  It seemed to install, but won't install any AIR apps.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled AIR and Yammer but no change.  I also tried uninistalling using the MS FixIt utility, but no difference.  AIR seems installed but if I go to the Yammer web site, it tries to install AIR again.  Log below.

    Hi Tom,
Would you be willing to do a desktop sharing session with me so I can take a look at what is happening with your system?  If so, please contact me at [email protected]  If you want to try something immediately, I'd recommend creating a new, temporary, user account and seeing if you can install Yammer there.  If so, log back into your normal account and try launching the installed Yammer app.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Well, you're not telling us anything, that's the problem. No offense, but really, just saying that something doesn't work is not gonna yield any answers that would help. We wil lat least need a tiny bit of info about your system - operating system, possibly hardware specs, definitely info about security tools and otehr Adobe software...

  • How can I copy my music files to my iPAD. The CDs are currently stored in folders on my PC. Note: Synching via iCLOUD won't work because I have VISTA OS and I need at least Windows 7 or 8.

How can I copy my music files to my iPAD. The CDs are currently stored in folders on my PC. Note: Synching via iCLOUD won't work because I have VISTA OS and I need at least Windows 7 or 8.

    Hi ladextr,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  To sync your music to your iPad, first put your music in iTunes as described here:
Adding music and other content to iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1473
Adding content on your computer to iTunes
iTunes helps you add digital audio and video files on your computer directly to your iTunes library. You can add audio files that are in AAC, MP3, WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless, or Audible.com (.aa) format. If you have unprotected WMA content, iTunes for Windows can convert these files to one of these formats. You can also add video content in QuickTime or MPEG-4 format to iTunes. To learn how to add these files to iTunes follow the steps below.
    Open iTunes
From the File menu, choose one of the following choices:
    MacAdd to Library
    Windows
    Add File to Library
    Add Folder to Library
Navigate to and select the file or folder that you want to add
If iTunes is set to "Copy files to the iTunes Music folder when adding to library," iTunes will copy all content that is added to the iTunes library to the iTunes Music folder. To adjust this setting or change the location of this folder, go to the Advanced tab in iTunes Preferences.
Once that's done, you can sync the music to your iPad by following this article:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph12313
    Cheers,

  • I already re-install 4 times my iMovie because I have a problem.

When I launched a warning message appears: The quicktime components necessary to view , edit, import, export high definition movies is not installed. Please re-install. What can i do????

At this point, you should try reinstalling OSX.
Call Apple at the "Contact Us" link at the bottom right of this page if you need somebody to walk you through it.

  • Can't install iMovie HD 6 even though i have iLife '08

i have iLife '08, yet i cannot install iMovie HD 6 (i downloaded it from the support site). What could be wrong?

If iMovie 08 is not installed, you cannot install iMovie HD6 from the free download.
I don't think that this is correct. My iMac has the PowerPC chip, and therefore IMovie 08 could not be installed. Installation of the rest of the iLife 08 suite was completed without a problem. Once that was done, I learned (I forgot how) that I could get a free download of iMovie HD 6. The only difficulty that I encountered was what I described in my previous post, which was not finding the new program in the dock.

  • Tried to install maverick-won't install on mac hd because of time machine

I have tried to install the maverick os.  It downloades but when I have to select a disk to install it on I cannot choose my mac hard drive because it has time machine????  I then installed it on a 32gig thumb drive and I was able to install it but I want to  upgrade my current os  on my mac hd with its applications and I also use Boot Camp.  I do not want to jeperdize my current system with the update.
    Thanks,
    Dave R

First, see the heading "What to do if the installer warns that no Recovery System can be created" in this support article. If you use Boot Camp, back up and delete the Windows partition using Boot Camp Assistant. Try the installation again.

  • Install backup won't work because "operating system isn't up to date"

I have two iPhones, one for myself and one for my wife.  My wife's phone was having problems so Apple kindly provided me with a new phone.  When I got it home and tried to install the backup, iTunes wouldn't let me.  It said the operating system wasn't up to date and I would have to set it up as a new phone.  I did this and now my wife's new phone seems to think it is my phone and I don't see any way of installing the backup of her previous phone.
    Any ideas?

Restore as new, then restore from the correct backup.

  • I have tried everything to get my itunes to work. I have re-downloaded older verisons which won't work because I have the lastest verison I have tried troubleshooting still won't work... I have uninstalled and re-installed about 35 times now and nothing

    HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!

    Hi,
You can have monitoring latency and hardware latency and this sounds like hardware latency. What interface do you have and have you done a loopback test?
"Even when I record with the track muted, and I have tried this several times with vocals that are dead on time. When I play it back the track is slow. I know they're recording right, because I can drag the entire track forward a little and get it to sync"
Because you can drag the whole track forward it means that  your vocal, despite being in time with itself, is not in sync with the already recorded tracks.
    Do a loopback test.
Record a transient sound (hi hat is good) make sure it is dead on the beat, use a midi hi hat and then turn it into audio, Route the recorded audio (hi hat) out of your interfave and then back into your interface to record it on a fresh track. Make sure you don't route them to the main outs to avoid a feedback loop.
Once you have both tracks of hi hat zoom in. The second track will be out with the original and this is the latency of your interface. Zoom right in, you can use the timeline to calculate how many samples it is out. My Motu 828 Mk2 is 58. You then offset this in the Recording Sample offset in your Preferences (not in front of Logic right now so I can't remember the exact term).
Once you have set the offset, do the loopback test again, you can keep all the tracks just make sure you're always using your original, smack on the beat track as your original.
Once the re-recorded matches the original you will have compensated for your interface latency. You do not need to change this if you change sample rate or bit depth. Once you have set it, it stays that way.
Try it and see how you go. If you get stuck there are a few other walk throughs of a loopback test on this very forum.
    Hope it helps.

  • Yosemite crashed on install, now won't DL because of NSInternalInconsistencyException

MacBook Pro 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    8GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    256 SSD
I tried to upgrade my MBP this morning to Yosemite from Mavericks and it hung towards the end of the installation process. The machine was unrecoverable - it booted as far as the login screen but the profile icons looked incomplete, the password entry field wasn't rendering properly and it went to a grey screen once I put my password in.
I had to erase the HD - I couldn't even run disk repair on it - reinstall 10.6.3 from a CD, then upgrade to 10.6.8 to get the App Store. Now I'm trying to get Yosemite because at least one app I rely on for work (Ghostlab) doesn't run on < 10.7. When I try to download Yosemite I get most of the file before an error message "NSInternalInconsistencyException".
I've tried this 3 times over a cable connection on a fast (120MB) connection. Now I can't even access Mavericks in the Apple store (UK) and I'm stuck without a machine for work. I made sure the firewall wasn't on in system preferences and disabled it on my router temporarily, all to no avail.
Now the machine is stuck on 10.6.8 and I can't work on it unless I get to at least 10.7. What can I do now? Any help would be appreciated; thanks in advance.

Don't use MSI Live Update (neither version).  This tool is stupid and dangerous.  It is also completely unnecessary, especially when it comes to older boards (like yours). Your board is rather ancient.  The chance that there will ever be newer drivers or BIOS Release is close to zero.
I don't know which MS-6712 you have, but here is a list of the existing Retail-Versions:
    http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=searchresult&keywords=6712
Pick the one that is yours, klick to access the product site. You will find the latest drivers there (and BIOS Updates).  If you need a BIOS Update, please make sure that it is absolutely necessary, otherwise, please leave the BIOS alone.  If a BIOS Update is necessary for some reason, please (in the best interest of your system) flash from DOS only.
In case you do not find your board in the list above, there is reason to believe that you do not have an MSI Retail Board but an OEM-Variant of the MS-6712 series (which is supported neither by MSI nor this Forum (support for MSI Retail Products only).  In that case, you should under no circumstances use MSI Retail BIOS Releases on your board as they might simply kill it.  MOre Information here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=110544.0

  • MAC OS X Snow Leopard install disk won't install "with this version"

I am trying to get ready for the Snow Leopard install disk to migrate from Mobile Me to ICloud. However, the disk install I received to start the process won't allow me to install saying I have the incorrect version to do so. I am up to date in all my software installs. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks!

If you have an iMac running 10.7.4 as it says in your profile, why are you installing Snow Leopard?  If this is a different computer then it would really, really help to know something about it.

  • Install software won't install...ipod doesn't connect

    Hi,
I just bought a new ipod mini, i have a laptop, and connect w/usb cable. I followed the instructions, and did not connect the ipod until the software said to connect it to see if it needed to be updated, well, i plug it in, and the apple logo comes on, and that file folder question mark, and on the intall screen it doesn't recognize that the ipod is connected, I've tried all of the steps to reboot, delete software, restart, reinstall, but i can't get past that step, i bypass it, and install the rest of the software and itunes, and the same thing keeps happening when i connect the ipod. it will keep beeping, and will say "do not disconnect" and then the file folder comes on, and sometimes it turns off and on. i have no idea what else to do...someone please please help me. feel free to post here or email [email protected] thanks!

Incidently, I too have tried switching from the USB 2.0 hubs in the front to the rear USB's and nothing is happening. I have followed the iPod for Windows software instructions to:
"connect iPod to see if it needs formatting"
when I connect the iPod shuffle the software notices that the "iPod is connected, please wait while the system recognizes the device" and I have even let the program run "waiting for iPod" for HOURS............ and nothing is happening!!

  • Desktop Manager states Updated Software Component Must Be Installed - but won't install it

I am running Desktop Manger 6.1.0.35 (Bundle 34) for a while. I am moving to a new smartphone of the same model but phone I am moving to has an older OS on it. I run the desktop manager which correctly determines that there is a new OS to load. I select the OS version to load and tell it to get the update and it responds with the error 'An Updated Blackberry Software component must be installed before you can continue'. It then asks if you wish to Install or Cancel. After selecting Install, it returns to the main screen of the desktop manager. Selecting UPDATE again, to insteall the latest OS, it repeats the same process again. So I am unable to load the latest OS into the device.
I've tried loading the software via the Blackberry web site instead, and it does the same thing. I can't get the OS updated.
Has anyone had this problem and determined how to get around it?

    Hey,
i am having the same issue for about 3 weeks now. I was able to install the latest version, 7.1, but i can't install a new OS. The software finds that there is a new OS that can be installed, but as soon i want to install it, the software demands an update, although it already is the newest version...
Might there be a general problem with the 7.1 version???

  • Install Discs Won't Install/Go to 2nd Install Disc

Hello! I need some help. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out what is going on. I recently had to use my installation discs that came with my IMAC to reinstall the operating system. That is a story in itself. In any case the first time I tried using them I started with disc #1 and went to bed, thinking it would finish while I was asleep. When I woke up I had the white screen of death and nothing else. So I decided to try again. This time everything worked well. I was prompted to insert disc #2 and then after 1 - 2 hours I was back up and working. I immediately went to update all my software and that is where my first problem started. I could not update from 10.5.2. The auto update wanted me to install 10.5.8 combo update but I kept getting "source media is damaged" error. So a local computer repair guy said that he thought I would need to reinstall the operating system again so off I went. This time I had no luck. I insert disc #1 and it runs like it should but instead of prompting me to insert #2 it automatically restarts my computer, doesn't eject disc #1, and then starts the whole process over again with disc #1. I can not get it to allow me to start disc #2 for re-installation. Am I making sense? It is almost like its in a loop. What can I do to fix this?
Thanks in advance for all the help.
    Bill

    Hi easybpw
If you did not completely erase the HD and are just installing/reinstalling the OS X from disk 1, then you may not need to reinstall disk 2 again?
If you want to start completely over, then startup from disk 1 and use Disk Utility to completely erase the Internal HD and then start over.
If the computer will startup and run after the last OS X installation, then eject the install disk and try downloading and installing the 10.5.8 Combo Update for the following link instead of using the system updater. > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL866
It also may be possible that you are having some kind of hardware problem with your HD, your superdrive or have a bad install disk. On thing you can try if you have a spare External HD around, is to format it GUID Partition Table / Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and install the OS X on it.
+Caution do not attempt this with your only backup drive if you have one, it will erase your backup.+
While on the backup subject, what if any do you have? If you have a Bootable Clone or Time Machine those might also help in Restoring your Internal HD.

  • Updating and installing apps won't install after update to R29

    Hi all,
You can't update an existing app in Adobe DPS App Builder and install it.
You need to create a new app each time. This is to time consuming.
    Anyone else noticed this?
    regards
    Mario

We think we’ve located the problem. It could be the actual signing when you download the ipa frop DPS Builder.
    we’ve unpacked the ipa
    Removed the CodeSignatures folder
And signed it again manually using Terminal
Zipped it all back to an ipa
And we successfully installed the ipa using iTunes.
So therefore, we think this might be a signing issue in the Adobe DPS App Builder
