Slapd at 170%, unseemingly never ending error

I'm new to server management, but I'm trying to help out as much as I can around my work.
Here's my slapd dump:

What we see is that slapd runs at 170% (dual processor g5) and doesn't quit until the process is stopped.
We are thinking now that any changes to WGM lists flag the preferences and the 200+ clients (not all on at the same time), go fetch the new preferences and kill the server load.
Do any of these errors while slapd is topping out the processors mean anything?

Here's the most recent episode, with nothing cut out.

  • Ipod boot never end...

    Hi all,
I have a big prob with my ipod photo 40GB : I tried to use it in disk mode to backup my hard disk, and during the copy the ipod gave a unknow error. Since this the ipod start the boot (white apple on black background) and never end, the boot restart every 5-10 secondes... no ipod on dekstop so no way to reinstall it with ipod updater. I tried the 5R but it still the same... Please help !!!
    Thanks in advance

I am experiencing the identical problem. I am hoping that if I drain the battery until it is completely dead it may force a "hard" reset which when charged again, it may start working properly.
Let me know if you find anything out.

  • Suddenly never ending pinwheel and slower than usual

My macbook pro suddenly started to get slow and gave me a never ending pinwheel while only having Safari running. The mouse was working but no response when clicking. Only way to restart computer was by holding down the Start button. Restarted and this time the computer hang up when I tried to Log in (while writing Login and password). I mangaged to Log in two more times but I got the pinwheel again when browsing internet. Finally I managed to make it to Support/Community.. any idea what's wrong?
    Thanks in advance (: !

Print out these instructions and info at the links provided as most require you to be offline.
Do a SMC and PRAM reset first, then a Hardware Test
    https://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/26871.html
    https://support.apple.com/kb/ht1509
If the hardware test gives any errors, note them here.
Check the time and date on your computer to make sure it's correct.
If your still having slowdowns, pull the power plug on both the router and the modem, connect the modem and wait a bit then connect the router. Reboot your computer and it should connect automatically to your wifi. See if your slowdowns only occur if connecteted to the WiFI or not, that way it can be determined if it's a internet issue or not.
(If your still having slowdowns, it might be because you have a Open Network on your router and someone is leaching off of it. WPA 2 with AES is the only secure wifi standard))
You can test your internet connection speed here, see if it matches what your paying for.
    http://www.speedtest.net/
IF your computer still has issues then:
Fish out the 10.6.x disks that came with your computer (grey) or the 10.6.3 Snow Leopard retail disk, stick it in the computer and reboot holding the c key.
(Make sure the disks are clean on the bottom, wipe with a very soft cloth and a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol to clean and don't place the disk on a harsh surface that can damage the bottom.)
Second screen in, under the Utilities menu is Disk Utility, select your drive on the left and click First Aid, Repair Disk (please write down any errors this gives and tell us) and Repair Permissions (the results there you can ignore)
Do not erase or reformat the drive.
Reboot and see if your computer works, if not repeat the c boot off the installer disk again and this time skip Disk Utility and install OS X.
It will install on top of your 10.6.8 installed version (only, not your programs or files), which when finished you reboot and immediately Software Update to 10.6.8
This should take care of anything wrong with OS X itself.
Now to clean the caches of the user and other checks.
Download the free OnyX for 10.6 and run ALL the maintenance and cleaning aspects and reboot at the end of the tasks (you can cancel in between reboots) but reboot at the end of using Onyx)
Do all the checks it asks when it starts up and note any errors here they report.
Also under the Verify Tab is a Preference (plist) check, check the "show only corrupt files" and run that, make a note of all and any corrupt plist files.
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/
Plist files are preference settings files that sometimes get corrupted and may be the cause of your problems.
If you have some, then you can look in your Users/Library/Preferences folder for them and Trash them and reboot the machine and load the program responsible, the plist file gets rebuilt without your preferences which you reset.
The next thing to check would be your web browser plug-ins here
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
For Flash in Safari check here again as it's more accurate
    http://flashbuilder.eu/flash-player-version.html
Download Flash and install if it's not this version (latest)
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    Silverlight here
    https://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/get-started/install/default.aspx
Finally install and run ClamXAv on your drive, this will look for known malware that might have gotten accidentally installed.
    http://www.clamxav.com/
Since OS X was reinstalled, along with bundled programs like Safari, this should only leave applications and users as a source of any infection.
If your stil having issues, then create a new user and transfer your files over and when up on the new user, delete it.

  • Process never ends

    Hi,
I'm developing -fixing somebody application- a SuperWaba application. SuperWaba is a poor minor release of Java Runtime. I'm transforming SQL Scripts into PDB files -i hate PDB files.
I make a Class that extends MainWindow that is called by Waba Applet. Waba Applet extends Java Applet -I hope so. When I run my class from the shell (cmd, over a Windows XP), an Applet Window appears and execute without erros my script transforming a SQL script in one or multiple pdb files (depending number of create sentences).
But, when i call my script from a PHP Script -i really hate this app, PHP + Java + ASP + Visual Basic ... can you believe it ? - the PHP Script launch Java, but Java app never ends blocking my PHP script. I think there is a problem in Applet Window creation, because there is no window or display to launch the app.
There is a way to run an Applet in background with no visualization ?
    THX 4 Ur HELP

i really appreciate your help but i forgot to explain the problem
First, i decide to create a simple Java App that uses the PDBDriver JAR, but the #~"$%" Jar uses something from the Applet. When I run my class it launch these error.

    Hi,

  • PFI Compilation never ends

    Hi,
I have been developping my app since 2 month now and I never had any problem with creating test ipas (ie:target = ipa-test). But when I decided to create my final build for the app store (target = ipa-app-store) the process never ends.
I run the compilation and it seems to be doing something (I can see the temp files and hear the fans) but it just doesn't stop. I tried many times and usually kill the process after an hour or so.
I know that other people had a similar problem but I didn't find any official answer for it. Is it a bug? Does it have a workaround?
I'm on a Mac with Snow Leopard and tried to build the ipa from both Flash CS5 and a custom ant build.
I would really appreciate some feedback about it.
    Cheers,
    Ben

First and foremost, compiling for iOS takes a lot of resources, it cannot be compared to packaging for Android, because the process is completely different, AIR on Android runs interpreted code, while on iOS it is native code, before deciding the compilation is stuck you should check the java/adt processes aren't doing anything. It's been said future AIR versions will reduce iOS compilation times.
Second, I've seen iOS compilation fail and take forever only when using certain ANEs and Flash Builder versions. FB doesn't take too well certain ANE warnings and errors, and instead of ignoring or finishing the process showing some alert, it just sits there making you wait forever. If you are using ANEs in your project, you should isolate the problematic one, and then determine what may be the cause... if some problem with the iOS SDK used with your AIR SDK, if the ANE is causing some unimportant warnings but your IDE doesn't like them, etc.

  • Cache refresh never ends

    Hi,
when I refresh the cache in PI... it always stays in the state  : Cache Content is being updated...
It never ends and I'm getting some really strange behavior in Integration Builder like when I configure a configuration scenario and put a communication component for a business system, it is ok but then the setting just disapears if I switch to another business system in the graphic and comme back...
It looks like a cache problem and its driving me crazy. Its actually easier when you have an actual error rather than a never ending process.
    Thanks.

    Hi
-->Please Follow the below steps for CACHE REFRESH,If these does not solve your problem contact your basis people and restart the Server.
-->In ID fro MENU->TOOLS->Click on Cache Notifications ans see the status if the cache is not updated.
then goto T-code SXI_CACHE and do the Full cache and Delta cache refresh.
-->Also check the RFC destination of type H in your PI system INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI is working or not if not check the path prefix and your technical settings and logon security correct or not.
    >Also do the cache refresh from PI home page ADMINISTRATION>CACHE OVERVIEW ,Do the cache refresh for IR ,ID and RWB.
    Thanks

  • AdamSync from AD to LDS goes into a continuous never ending loop... can't figure this out.

I THINK I've got this thing configured up to the point where it should be able to sync.  The XML config is set to just grab a single OU with roughly 12 accounts in it.
Everything seems to connect OK, then it does a ton of "Processing Entry", even though there are only a few accounts in this OU.
Then it begins to do "Adding target object..." and gets stuck in a never ending loop.
Can someone point me in the right direction on how to troubleshoot this?

    Hi,
Are there any error messages from the event log?
Here is a KB article which describes a similar issue below I suggest you refer to:
Error message when you use the Adamsync tool in Windows Server 2003: "Error: We seem to be in an infinite recursive loop"

  • Wireless printer is setup, but the HP Installer Setup program is in a never-ending loop

Wireless printer is setup (HP Officejet 4500), but the HP Installer Setup program is in a never-ending loop.  It says "Fatal error during installation." and keeps trying to uninstall/reinstall/ etc etc etc.  Printer is setup and runs fine, just need to get rid of this crazy loop - any guidance?

    Which OS is installed?
I recommend that you uninstall the printer software from the HP folder in start-->All Programs -->HP --> uninstall software
After the uninstall is completed and your system restarted install and configure the printer again.

  • HT201263 IPhone 4S unlocked set , from iOS 6.1.2 upgrade to IOS 6.1.3 unable to update and now is in recevery mode, tried using ITunes to restore but end error ( error -1)

I had one iPhone 4S buy from Singapore, have been using this phone about a year,
Things happen when update from iOS 6.1.2 to iOS 6.1.3 (non-jail break phone).
After update, when on 3G, phone become no service or searching. Had change new SIM card carrier vision 14.1.
Things never change, so I did another restore using iTunes , things get worst, phone stuck in recovery mode and ending error (error-1)
Had tried few time and same error.
    Note ITunes latest vision

I had the same issue until yesterday. been struggling with it for the last 2 days. I bought the unlocked 4s from the store a week ago and now I cannot upgrade from 6.1 to the higher version.
Although, after searching a lot on the net, I was able to find a software that'll get you out of the recovery mode. Hope this helps. Install the software and click on the 'Recovery Mode Loop Fixer' (2nd tab) and click 'Set Auto Boot True'
The software looks shady but worked.

  • Retraction for Capitals wbs keep running never end..

    Hi all;
While running a retraction for capital wbs using this 'UPR_COST_PLAN_EXEC' FM, the job keeps running for hours never end, I can see the messages at the task bar 'Data summarized...' , 'data transfered..' etc..I don't get any error message or anything.
This is not a new function, it has been running well in the past and I never had any issue. We run this every month to retract monthly updates into R/3, The only thing I have changed between last month and this month are
On the planning level Version = 5 (I had 4 last month) this is the version this data gets stored in R/3.
Also the parameter grp version = 5.
Those should not cause this issue...Did anyone had this issue earlier? Pls write to me...as this is a production issue..I will assign good points.
    thanks.

    Got it figured out guys...thanks.

  • SOLUTION for the never ending reboot loop when charging

I used my iPad until the battery was completely flat, then when I went to charge it, it got stuck in the never ending reboot loop where it shows the Apple logo for about 30 seconds, then shows the home screen for a split second before shutting down and repeating the whole process again and again.
So here's what you need to do to fix this problem without having to restore or plug into iTunes.
    1. Plug in the charger
    2. When the Apple logo appears, unplug the charger
    3. As soon as you see the home screen appear, plug the charger back in. You need to do this quickly as the home screen only shows for a split second
    4. The loading wheel should appear and shut down the iPad
    5. Leave the iPad for a good 30mins or so just to get some battery life into before you start using it again.
    And that's it!

Figured I'd start recording the errors I get in the Installer Log:
localhost : BomFatalError - cpio read error: bad file format
localhost : Install failed: some files for GarageBandinstrumentsTiger may not have been written correctly.
    localhost : BomFileError 0: Unknown error: 0 - ./Instrument Library/Sampler/Sampler Files/Grand Piano/054F#2KM56M.wav

  • Apple Hadrware Test never ends after ram upgrade

    Hello,
I have a macbook pro 15" mid 2012 (not the retina) with osx 10.9.4.
    I recently upgrade my 4go of ram to 8go of ram (Corsair Vengeance SODIMM 2x4go PC12800 1600Mhz CL9 1.5V CMSX8GX3M2A1600C9).
In order to test the ram I use the Appel Hardware Test.
Both mode, simple and extended, seems to be frozen and never ends.
I try to let the test works the all night and the all day but the test never ends.
So I decided to test my ram with memtest86 boot cd and everything seems to be ok.
The fact that Apple Hardware Test never ends trouble me.
Do you think there is a problem with my ram ?
Do I need to return my ram ?
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
We could discuss how you'd benefit from the additional memory, however, since the system isn't working, let's focus on the beeps.
When you start the system, it goes through some tests (called the power on self test or POST) before loading the operating system. If it finds any errors, it beeps, and the beeps are:
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
3 beeps means it doesn't find any memory that passes the POST test. The fact that this started up after the service center installed the memory upgrade is suspicious, however, if it worked in the store then stopped working later, it may just be unfortunate timing.
There are some company's on the internet that claim they can repair the logic boards, otherwise, Apple's solution is to replace them. In the US, some Apple stores offer a 'fix everything' service for $350, which is less than specifically replacing the logic board - perhaps there is a similar service in Taiwan.
