  • How to install webgate on tomcat with solaris 10 AMD 64bits?

    Hi Experts
I need to install a webgate on the webserver tomcat, but i found that installation is not possible because thes is not webgate for tomcat, many people recommended install a reverse proxy with Apache or OHS but i can't find a webgate installer on Solaris 10 AMD 64bits.
Exists that version of webgate? or exist a workaround??
    what is your suggestion??

Choose the Webserver and the WebGate from the OAM support matix.
If OAM does not have WebGate for the platform where you have tomcat installed, if it is an option, you can install a webserver and WebGate on any OAM supported OS and configure Reverse Proxy. WebGate does not need to be on the same server/machine or on same platform.

  • Does HP Pavilion p7-1154 support AMD Dual Graphics?

I have a Pavilion p7-1154 - Serial no.{Removed for privacy} - The motherboard is an AAHD3-HB (stock MB) made by Pegatron. I have upgraded the stock RAM from 6 GB of 1333 to 16 GB of Corsair Vengence 1600 and upgraded the processor from an AMD A6 3600 to an AMD A8 3850, all according to the upgrade guide for this machine from HP. I've also upgraded the PSU from the stock 300w to a Corsair 500w 80Plus Bronze certified PSU.
Now that's what I'done so far - what I want to know is does the MB (AAHD3-HB) support AMD Dual Graphics, using the suggested graphics cards, I would like to use a Radeon 6670 GPU.

Mike, after consulting with other members, I believe that dual graphis is not available since it is not noted in the specs.
However, here is a Youtube video about the CPU.  If you do find that you were able to use it by a BIOS change, please share that information with the forum.  Thanks!

    Hi All,
I would like to know whether ffmpeg can be installed on Solaris 10 AMD opteron processor.

I've had the same problem when trying to install it, in my case the disklabel was created with parted and caused the problems. I've relabeld the disk by booting into single user mode from cdrom and executing these commands:
    # dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s0 bs=1024 count=20
    # format
(select the disk ('0') and 'label' it)
    (verify the label and quit)

FATAL Error... When trying to remove Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS) on my windows xp. I tried to update iTunes to update my iPhone software and it told me to uninstall iTunes and AMDS for a newer version. Now I get a fatal error and I can't sync my phone. What should I do?

FATAL Error... When trying to remove Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS) on my windows xp.
We've made some progress with some of those in recent days, Stop. It looks like (with some of them), the trouble is caused by trouble with the HKEYCURRENTUSER registry keys associated with your usual XP user account.
If that's what is afoot, the following technique may be of some assistance.
Head into your User Accounts control panel and create a new user account with full administrative rights. Log out of your normal account and log into the new account. (Don't use fast user switching to move between accounts.)
Inside the new account, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, and attempt to uninstall AMDS from there.
Does the uninstall go through without the fatal error in the new user account?
If so, *staying in the new user account,* do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related componentry as per:
[Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925]
(You'll need, in particular, to do the reinstall of iTunes from inside the new account. Experience of the last two cases of this indicates that if you try the reinstall from inside the usual user account, AMDS just silently fails to install.)
If everything seems to have reinstalled correctly, log out of the new account, and log back into your usual account. Try launching iTunes in your usual account. Does it launch properly in there now?

  • Does Solaris support GPT?

Go take a peek in Google.
Use keyword `gpt` for your search.
    First result: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GUID_Partition_Table
Perhaps leave that Wikipedia reference as a bookmark in your browser, so as to have a reference for changes that might appear.
See section 6.1 of that Wikipedia entry:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GUID_Partition_Table#Unix-class_operating_systems
Additionally, using gpt + solaris for Google keywords, there are additional links to be found.
Lastly, here is a forum discussion from September 2010:
OVM server cannot install on GPT boot partition
Granted, it involves GPT and Linux, but there are points in there to consider with regards to your choices for hardware.

  • Solaris 10 AMD Installer

    Hi,
This may have been asked already but i searched the forums and couldnt see if it was or not.
Anyway i was looking to deploy Weblogic on a Solaris 10 box but it is not Sparc it is an AMD processor.
Can anyone tell me if there is such an installer? Or if there is a workaround for the Sparc installer.
    Regards,
    Diarmaid

A similar question was asked in the below post,
    Re: Weblogc 10.3 64 bit
But you can find what you are looking for at the following support page, there's what looks to be a basic/general installer:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/platform/suppconfigs/configs/solaris/solaris10_103.html#102349
I'm trying to install 10.3 on Solaris 10 with an AMD64 now and I hit a Fatal Error when it tried to create the domain.
    Hope that helps.

  • OEM Cloud Control 12c R2 Solaris Support ?

    Hi folks,
We have a Solaris x86 server that I want to use as an OEM Cloud Control platform. I am reading Oracle installation and configuration documents, and this link seems to state that neither Solaris x86 nor SPARC Solaris are supported as OEM Cloud Control operating systems: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/install.121/e22624/preinstall_req_packages.htm#CHDEHHCA (see tables 3.1 and 3.2).
Since this product can be downloaded [here |http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/grid-control/downloads/solx86soft-086409.html], I am confused as to why the official, right of the download page installation instructions state that Solaris x86 deployments for this tool are not supported.
I am reading this incorrectly, right? The OEM Cloud Control is supported on Solaris x86?
    Thanks much.

The "Not Supported" comment is in the column labeled "32-Bit Packages for 32-Bit Platform." 64-bit Solaris SPARC and x86-64 are supported as documented in Table 3-1: 64-Bit Packages for 64-Bit Platform

NO. You must install the Asdk in a supported platform, configure the accessgate, policy to be able to develop an access gate.

  • Solaris 10 AMD Athlon Opteron BIOS microcode patch

I've recently installed Solaris 10 on AMD Opteron machine, AMD64
On boot, I receive a message "BIOS microcode patch not found...erratum 109" or something to that effect.
this is followed by a bunch of "not enough space" comments.
I've tried to find such a patch without success. Clearly, this points out my lack of knowledge. Perhaps someone can provide advice? AMD said "call Sun"

I went back and did a reinstall of OS. I then downloaded and installed all the patches associated with the machine W1100Z. This has made this operational but issues remain. I decided to download the latest supplement.iso (2.5) and install the newer BIOS. The supplement.iso size is 427.89 MB. Unfortunately, at 427.11 MB I receive an error "not enough memory in the folder". I get the same result regardless of the target directory. I do suspect the installing the new boot image will work but the problem of how to get in on the machine remains.
I apologize for the delayed response but I only have so much time. I have considered the purchase of a new machine would be a good choice, with OS already installed, but this one is autographed by James Goslin. An operating machine certainly would be a great SUN advertisement in my office. Plus, the tanking markets have significantly reduced my upgrade capability.
You are probably correct though. Finding the disks may be a problem especially cdrom.
    cd c:\cdrom
    ls -l
    doesn't list anything

  • Solaris support booting from san ?

Does anyone know if Solaris 10 supports booting from a san fabric lun ? In particular, an IBM DS4800.
The installer doesn't see the luns when it comes time to choose a disk to install on, only the internal disks.
The server is a IBM LS20 blade. I've managed to install Sol. 10 on the internal drives and can see the luns on the DS4800.
    I'm using Solaris 10 Express 10/05 x86/64.
    Brian.

Do you see the luns after boot? I'm wondering if there isn't a driver for your controller in the default installation environment. I would assume one could be added (that being one of the big benefits of newboot). Especially if you could create a jumpstart server. (It's easer to add a driver to it than to burn a new CD/DVD).

  • MSI AMD board which supports AMD mobile ?

Is there a MSI Mainboard which supports an AMD Mobile ? Does anyone of you have any experience with that combination or does anyone know a (desktop) mainboard able to run that combination ?
    Thanks for any answers.

I have never understood why BIOS chips aren't all  pop-in/pop-out replaceable. Then a screwdriver and $30 check to BADFLASH would update the BIOS with the threat of bricking a system that might take weeks/months to reconstruct. That's just panding to DELL/HP/LENOVA/MS & a bad attitude from the mobo manufactures.
I will take your advise and look for recently manufactured boards, tho getting a serial number from NEWEGG  or TIGER DIRECT would be like getting a Lords-prayer from Beelzebub!

I can't recommend any particular MB for you but can just say do some research on MSI website for Z87/97 MBs for BIOS vs CPU support. Also keep in mind that recently manufactured MBs will have the later BIOS on them from the factory. You can determine if the MB you decide on has a later BIOS from the serial number if the store you buy it from will provide you the S/N (from date code in S/N) when purchased. Flashing the BIOS if needed isn't quite as bad as it might seem if you ask for help on this forum before attempting to do it. There's a right way and wrong way to do it and using Live Update is by far is the worst way, instant expensive paperweight is the usual result by using Live Update.

  • Solaris on AMD K6-2 processor

Can solaris operating environment(7,8) run on AMD K6-2 processor?

First configure the Solaris partition to use 95% of your hard drive. The remaining 3 to 5% needs to be assigned to a Solaris partition. However, please note that even though you have about 98% of your hard drive left, you can only use about 98% total space on your hard drive. If you try to use 100% you will get an error message. Its the mathimatics that gets you and the rounding errors, etc. So you have to sacrifice 2% of your hard disk, but its quite small and insigificant. FYI If you use IBM 75GXP IDE series hard drives, I believe the biggest hard drive you can use it their 75GB hard drive without any problems.
