Sold-To Party determination using Reported-By partner function in SolMan 4

Hi,
I'm trying to populate the Sold-To party field via Reported-By partner function in Solution Manager 4.0.
That means in the Organizational model the Sold-To-Party is a Organization Business Partner, and the person who create the Support Message or Service Order is a person (Person BP) who works for the Sold to Party Org. Unit, then I request that when a Support Message is reported by a person that belong to The Org, Model, the system fulfill Sold-To-Party automatically.
Example:
Org. Unit: 10000 (BP Organzation) <----
Sold to Party
Employee: 10001 (BP: Person) <----
Reported by
Any hints how I could acheive this?
Will award points.

Hi,
Just to clrify few things.... In terms of Solution Manager, the sold to party gets populated from the BP that is assigned to the Install Base Component. It is not required to have the BP maintained as a Sold-To to populate the Sold-To party field.
I know that is confusing. But that is how it works. So in very general terms I'm looking a way to bypass the BP assignment to Install base and get the BP number of the Org unit that the user(employee) is been assigned to populate the Sold-To party field. Pls note that the Org Units are not maintained as Sold To parties.
Thanks

  • What is the use of Source Partner function

    Dear Experts,
Can you please explain me the exact use of Source Partner Function in Partner Functions in procedures in Customizing.
Is it used to propose only sold to party partner function or any partner function from the master data of particular partner function.
I read SAP standard help but I got confused because of its example. It is as below.
    Source partner function
Partner function which serves as an alternative source for determining the sold-to party.
    Procedure
If you don't want the system to propose a partner from the sold-to party master record, enter another partner function here. The system will then propose the sold-to party from the master record of your partner function.
    Example
If you enter WE (ship-to party) in this field for the function VE (sales employee), when you create the sales document,  it determines the sold-to party from the VE partner function in the ship-to party's master document.
    kindly reply. thanks in advance
    sagar wagh

    Dear Sagar,
While determining the partner functions you can define that particular partner should be determined from the source partner functions master data.
For example you want to determine the Freight forwarder and you want to make sure that  this partner function should be proposed as per the ship to party then in customizing for freight forwarder partner function you will maintain the source as ship to party. Due to this customization when you will be creating the sales order for sold to party x and assume that for x you are having two different ship to party at two distinct locations. For these  two locations you have different freight forwarder  providing the services(one for each location). So to determine the right freight forwarder the above mentioned customizing will be required. Otherwise system will propose this partner function as per sold to and that will be same for all ship to.
Hope this example will help you to understand the usage of source in partner determination.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Sold-To Party determination by the Reporter

    Hi,
We are the VAR partner and using Solution Manager for incident management.
Now with the Ibase, I can assign Sold to party easily. (as default)
But in our configuration, it's not mandatory to enter Ibase or anything.
So I need to determine Sold-to Party from only Reporter information. Is there any way to do it?
    Regards
    Tutku

    Hi,
I've discussed this issue from a guy from SAP, now the sold-to-party is assigned correctly. Solution is below.
    Regards
    Tutku
    1.) Create Access Sequence
    SPRO
Create a new access sequence and define the parameter as mentioned below
    2.) Assign Access Sequence
Select your determination procedure which is assigned to your used transaction type
Mark Function ‘Sold-To Party (CRM) in node ‘Partner Functions in Procedure’
Define your newly created access sequence

    Dear All,
How we wll be able to see the receipt report on the basis of Goods Supplier where vendor is different from goods supplier and on the same way where invoiving part was different from vendor/goods supplier.(parter function).
Is there any report on the partner function.

    Hi Senthil,
ME2L is not meeting my requirement , is there any standard report by which I can get  material doc /PO , by giving vendor where it is being used as the partner function.

  • Use of business partner functionality in combination with dual control

Is there a generally agreed upon procedure to use the business partner functionality in combination with dual control? The problem is that when you block a business partner, the customer/ vendor master data aren't blocked automatically. You can then still use them in transactions, which leads to problems.
So is there a way to make this work or a procedure to do this?
    Niels Vanwingh

    Thanks Masa,
I did notice the 'Add external supplier from' in create supplier or bidder option. However there is a small catch and your experience may help.
Let me explain the requirement and scenario here in SRM 7.
We are implementing the Registration of Supplier scenario; both ROS and SRM are in same client. When a potential supplier registers themselves in the registration system, a BP number is created (an Internal number range is defined for this). After accepting the potential supplier in pre-select screen the purchaser has two options to transfer the potential supplier from the ROS system to SRM
Option 1: He can select the accepted potential supplier from the supplier directory option and transfer the business partner to SRM. In this case the business partner number of the potential supplier is retained in SRM and a business partner with supplier and bidder tag is created. However the purchaser does not have any option to select which type of business partner he would like to create like supplier or bidder.
Option 2: Purchase can go to create supplier or bidder option and choose the u2018Add external supplier formu2019 from the ROS system and create the business partner. The ROS business partner details are copied to the create supplier screen, but the purchaser have to provide an external business partner number for the supplier. This is because we have defined external number range for business partner for the vendors that are replicated from ERP to SRM.
Objective is the ROS business partner should be retained in SRM with option to create as supplier and bidder and then manually create ERP supplier with same SRM BP number and map against SRM supplier.
Is there any way we can achieve this?
In SRM 5.5 with Manage business partner functionality we could achieve as system give us the option which business partner type we would like to create as well as retains the ROS BP number in SRM.

    Dear Experts,
I have a scenario where i need to determine the org data of an activity based on BP assignment in Org model. this BP is caluclated based on partner determination procedure which has got access sequence "Preceding Document: Activity Partner -> Preceding Document: Sold-To Party" & is actually an employee. This employee is assigned to org structure & i want to have the org data based on that.

    Hi Shashank,

  • Partner functions WebUI Solman

    Hi experts,
I'm using Solman 7.1 in Incident Management and I've got a strange problem in using partner functions.
I used SLFN0002 and created a copy of it ZLFN0002. Then I added both in the WebGUI under "details". And here is my problem:
when I fill the field SLFN0002 the business partner appears in both fields. But in bock "business partner" only SLFN0002 is filled.
when I then delete the field (under details) ZLFN0002. SLFN0002 is deleted too.
when I fill field ZLFN0002 the business partner doesn't appear in the field (but under business partner block)
It seems like an linking error. But I don't know where to find this.
Does somebody has an idea how to solve that issue?
    Best regards,
    Christina

    Hi,
I checked the recommended note --> didn't solve the problem.
I read the block - for me everything seems to be ok.
    Here are some screenshots
    the partner function:
under specify partner function display in transaction:
I used these numbers in the WebUI.
Any idea how to fix this issue. (Other partner functions work fine)
    Thanks a lot.

  • Customer is not assigned to a partner function

    Hi Experts,
I'm encountering the same error. When I view the Customer and click Customer Partner Functions, system throws a message Customer SP0003 is not assigned to a partner function
How do I assign my newly created Customer to a Partner Function Sold-to-Party?
I've checked the setup for Partner Determination: Customer Master, the settings are as follows:
    Partner Determination Procedures:
    AG Sold-To Party
    IN Sales Prospect
    KO Consumer
    RE Bill-to Party
    RG Payer
    SO Assortment cust.
    WE Ship-to party
    WESR GR w/ MatSafSheetRec
    Partner Functions in Procedure:
AG SP Sold-to party NotModifiabe, Mandatory
    AG BP Bill-to party Mandatory
    AG PY Payer Mandatory
    AG SH Ship-to party Mandatory
    Partner Determination Procedure Assignment:
Account Group YG01 (account group of new Customer) assigned to AG (Sold-to-Party)
    Account Groups - Function Assignment:
SP Sold-to party YG01 Customer BP
Is there any other config I should do?

Go to IMG path -- SD --> Basic Functions --> Partner Determination --> Setup Partner Determination --> Set Up Partner Determination for Customer Master.
    -  There block "AG Sold To Party" and double click on "Partner Functions in Procedure".
    -  Ensure that for AG, you have maintained SP and the box Mandatory is checked.
    -  Block AG/SP and double click on "Partner Determination Procedure Assignment" and see for Group 0001, AG is assigned
    -  Click on "Partner Functions" and see for SP, KU is maintained under the tab Partner Type and the box is checked
    -  Click on Account Groups-Function Assignment.  Here ensure that the Account Group are assigned to your SP.

  • Default value for Sold to Party and Reported By with Support Message

I have customized the service desk scenario and went through the entire service desk implementation guide part I blog that talks about the partner setup.
When I create a support message through the service desk scenario (under help) in the satellite system it does default the sold-to-party and the reported by person in the resulting document.
When I create a support message in Solution Manager out of DSWP or SOLAR02 it does as well.
However when I create the support message out of Solution Manager under help it does NOT default the sold to party and reported by, and I always have to correct that in the document later on.
Has anyone experienced this before and can tell me why this happened. Obviously has something to do with setting up the partner in Solution Manager, but I do not understand how it can work for the Satellite system but not in Solution Manager itself.
    Thanks
    Paul

    > Has anyone experienced this before and can tell me why this happened. Obviously has something to do with setting up the partner in Solution Manager, but I do not understand how it can work for the Satellite system but not in Solution Manager itself.
Did you generate BP entries for the SolMan system itself?

  • Ship to party & Sold to Party partner functions anamoly

    Hi all,
I was just thinking why a Ship to party cannot be a Sold to party?
Say, if an enterprise.say, XYZ Pvt. Ltd.  sales Steel almirahs.XYZ Pvt Ltd places the order of steel almirahs and then the same XYZ Pvt Ltd. itself receives the order for his business. Then here XYZ being a ship to party also places the order and hence is a sold to party!!
It is quite possible that same client can be ship to party as well as sold to party then?
Then why it is written in SAP manuals that  a ship to party can't be a  sold party  as  well?

    Hi,
Sold to party and Ship to party can be same and in many cases depending on the business scenario, they will be the same.
The perspective in which the relationship between them is quoted is as follows.
We will have 2 different account groups for sold to party and ship to party.
If a customer is created with the account group of the sold to party, the same customer number can also be used as Ship to party. However if a customer is created with the acc.group of ship to party, this customer can be used only as ship to party and not as Sold to party. This is what is explained in all SD manuals.
Coming to our case, if you want a customer to be both sold to party and ship to party, you have to create this customer master using the account group of the sold to party (not using the account group of the ship to party). If this is done, the same customer can be used as both sold to party and ship to party.
Hope this clears ur doubt. If you have any qns, pls let us know.

  • CRM 2007 - Installed Base - Sold to Party per Product

    Hi Gurus
I'm working through Best Practice guide C13 Service Master Data.
For the Installed Base I'm using, for each product I have on the system I must assign each Business Partner (Sold-to Party) to that product.
For me this is a Maintenance nightmare, if I have 100 Products and 100 Customers I have 10,000 entries to make.
Is there a simpler way of completing this?
We are running a Standalone CRM System
    Many Thanks
    Panduranga

Did you create IBase for the system from where you create message?
If so, Did you mention Sold-to Party for that system IBase?
If not, First create IBase for the system, then assign Sold-to Party for the system IBase.
To do this use DSWP, Select the solution of the system and choose option "Initial Transfer to IBase" from menu.
So that solman system will automatically generate IBase for that satellite system. No need to create IBase for the satellite system explicitly by using IB52.
Once "Initial Transfer to IBase" is done, then go to IB52 and select the IBase of that system as well as client and assign the Sold-to Party by using menu "Go To"->"Partners". It important to assign the Sold-to Party for the working client. i.e. from which client of the satellite system the messages are created.
    Hope this solves your problem.
If not, Go to SPRO and check the partner determination rule for Sold-to Party. It should be from IBase.

    Thanks a
    Basavaraj

    Hi,
This is what you needs to do.
Create your Sold to Party "A" using the Account Group "Sold to Party" from Tx: XD01
Then Create your Ship to Party "B" using the Account Group "Ship to Party" from Tx: XD01
Then go to you Sold to Party using Tx: XD02
Go to Sales area data / Partner tab
Add your Ship to Party "B" there with Partner Function "Ship to Party"
    Save
Now create a sales order from Sold to Party "A"
Enter Sold to Party "A" and press enter
You will get a pop up to select relevant Ship to Party for the Sales Order Header level with "A" or "B"
    Select relevant one at there.
If you select "B" at the header, same will get copied to all line items later. Else you can select "A" and then change only the relevant line item partner to Ship to "B" at Item level as well.
When you create delivery, relevant Ship to will be picked form the line item level.
You can do same for Bill to Party and Payer as well.
    Best regards,
    Anupa
