Solution Center new printer

I use the Solution Center to Scan.  I just installed a new printer, a 6700, and the solution center does not see it.  How do I tell the solution center it is there?  How do I get rid of my old printer?
Thanks

While Lion99 is correct, there is also more information that can be shared with you. First, you'll want to remove any old software you have for prtevious HP printers that you no longer use. Then if you have not installed the full-feature software, follow the link below for that driver package:
http://goo.gl/ioY81
Instead of the Solution Center icon, this will install an icon on your desktop that looks like the 6700 Premium and you will be able to access many of the same features of SC in that program. I hope this information is useful to you!
Have a great day!

Windows 7; Wireless network; Today I installed my new Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one wireless printer. When finished I was able to print, I set up e-print, and the scanner works, but could not find what used to be called the "HP Solutions Center" that I could click on to choose scanning, check ink supply, get "Help", and so on.  An HP 8600 printer icon installed on the desktop, but when I clicked it, it was just a bunch of meaningless jibberish but had no function. I went to "Start", then HP, and was able to somehow get a "Scan Icon" to open.  I did not get the option to set up "WEBPRINT", nor REGISTER MY PRODUCT,  and so on. In other words, the installation did not finish. I tried putting the CD back in, but no additional options were available except to re-configure, etc.  Thank you for your help.

  • 2 Attemps to install HP Solution Center for printer on HP Pavilion failed. ScreenShots

I had to do a factory recovery recently. I can print with the HP C7280 without problem from programs. I have had this printer and Solution Center working on this pc prior to the factory recovery and another pc before that.  I have tried now to install my HP Printer All in One Printer Solution Center now twice with fails. I hope the screenshots help.
I have 1) downloaded a new full install - 2) turned off all antivirus - 3) rebooted and restarted the HP Printer - 4) made sure all windows updates have been applied for windows 8.1 - 5) tried following the solutions HP provided but still with fail. The install goes all the way through until the very last "configuring device" ... and then times out. Thank you for any help.

    Hi @lacarottess,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that you are looking for the HP Solution Center software for your HP Deskjet F2290 and HP Scanjet 2300c. I am happy to look for this for you!
For your HP Deskjet F2290 printer: the HP Solution Center is found in the full feature software and drivers found at this website, HP Deskjet F2200/F2224 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver, or you can use the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows (recommended).
For your HP Scanjet 2300c: I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it, in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at HP Enterprise Business Community.
    Hope this helps!

  • C7250 All in One "Disconnected" error when trying to use Solution Center

This C7250 All in One is connected via USB to our home desktop, and we also connect wirelessly when using laptops. From my laptop when printing from various programs or e-mail the printer works fine. However, when I open Solution Center to attempt scanning or managing documents Solution Center says "Printer Disconnected" and will any functions through this program. Any ideas?

    Hi All,
I got this resolved by myself. I have used a static text in my report with html code. HTML code contains &nbsp for space. And the issue was that I did not terminate &nbsp with a semicolon. That caused the error.
Solution: If you are using html for leaving space between sentences, then always terminate like this -

  • Add a new printer to hp solutions center

I have added an new printer ( HP PSC1410) to my computer since my other one quit working (HP office jet 6500 E709a series). I cannot get hp solutions center to recognize the new printer. The printer has been added in the control panel and is now the default but solutions center won't recognize it.

    Hi there,
If you are no longer using the Officejet 6500, I would suggest uninstalling it.  You will then need to install the software driver for the PSC 1410.  By uninstalling the 6500, the software for the PSC 1410 and the Officejet 6500 will not be in conflict.  You can uninstall the 6500 by following the instructions located here.
Once you have uninstalled the Officejet 6500, then you will need to install the PSC 1410 by downloading the driver.  You can do that by going to your product support page on  the HP Customer Care website.  The PSC 1410 product support page is here. Once you are there, do the following:
    1.Click on Drivers.
    2.  Your operating system should automatically be detected and display in the dropdown list under 'Select or confirm your operating system and click Next.'  If it's not, select your Operating System from the list and click on the blue Next button.
    3.  Scroll down on the page and click on the + sign next to Driver - Product Installation Software.
    4.  Click on the blue Download button next to the download that says something like 'HP Deskjet and Officejet Full Feature Software and Drivers'.  You want the FULL driver - this is important if you want the Solution Center software.
    5.  Follow the instructions from there.
Let me know how that goes...
    Thanks!
    Tara

  • C5580 printer, Windows 8.1, new HP Solution Center, I can't print on disks

I've been inkjet printing on my C5580 and my old XP PC, but I don't seem to find a way to do it with the new HP Solution Center that I downloaded and installed today.  What do I need to do?  Thanks!

Hello Kid_Klash, and welcome to the HP Forums.
I see you're having issue printing on discs since you upgraded your software to Windows 8.  The new Windows 8 software does not include a CD printing feature.

  • HPD110a - HP Solution Center does not find printer

    Changed internet service provider.
Now my printer has new IP address.
By opening my browser to the new address, I am able to scan
Also able to print from Windows 8.1/64 with the printer installed.
    But,
Cannot scan from printer using the "Scan to PC" button.
Also cannot use HP Solution Center or HP AiO Printer Remote,
because they cannot find the printer. They seem to be stuck on a previous IP address.
I dont find a  way to change the printer IP address in these tools.
The scan command issued from browser with the IP address does not enable me to scan more than 1 page at a time
(ie does not handle multi page docs)
    Very inconvenient.
    Please help
PS All software is up to date

Hi @herozero , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're experiencing connectivity issues.  I would like to try and assist.
I would recommend performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also suggest downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • How do I add a second hp printer to HP solution center

I am currently showing my older Desk jet HP 6380 printer in the HP solution center software as it should and it works fine. I have now added a HP Desk Jet  3052A printer to my office. Both printers are set up for wireless connection, both are 3 in one, and both printers work fine. I like using the HP solution center program to manage my printing / scanning. I want to add the new 3052A printer / scanner to the solution center so that I can switch between printers. How do I get both printers to show in the Solution Center software or can I?
    running Vista O/S
    Thanks
    Maxter

Hey Maxter. To do this you need to add a device from the software installation. Here is how you can do that:
If you do not have the downloaded software, you can find the setup source located within the HP Folder:
    Open Computer.
    Enter Drive C
Enter Program Files folder (If you have a 64 bit OS, enter Program Files (x86))
    Enter HP folder
    Enter Digital Imaging folder
You will see a random folder containing the installation source, you can recognize the folder by it's long name (the folder name should have a similar structure as {17016DA1-F040-4032-BD36-34DD317BC9D5})
Run Setup.exe and select Add a Device.
Let me know if this helped at all.
    Thanks!

  • Upgraded from hp f2400 to oficejet 6600/6700 how to use HP solution center with new equipment?

I was using the HP F2400 all-in-one copier.  I just upgraded to the HP OfficeJet 6600/6700 all-in-one.  I want to upgrade the HP Solution Center or install another Solution Center for my new copier.  How can I make this happen.  My operating system is Windows 7.  To me the Solution Center is the best way to find/track all documents, scans, pictures and everything else.  Please help.

If you are done with the f2400, I recommend going to Start > All Programs > Hewlett-Packard > [your printer model] and uninstalling the software using the uninstaller in that folder.
    Restart your PC.
Download and install the software for your new printer from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-101682-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...

  • C7280 can print but solution center says install incomplete and I cannot scan

I have a photosmart c7280 that is connected to a wireless network. I purchased a new computer running windows 7 64 bit system. Install of printer went fine and everything was working. Now when I go to the HP solution center it says the install was incomplete. When I try to scan a document in either windows live essentials or windows fax and scan neither program can find the device. I was able to use the solution center and scan a document yesterday.
I can still print and access the printer on the network. I even performed a webscan. Why does solution center now not work when it previously worked and why am I unable to find the device when I want to scan using other software.

  • How can I retrieve HP Solution Center on my new computer?

My former computer ran Windows XP.   When I set up my new Windows 8.1 machine, it found my printer (Deskjet 3930) right away.  Printing works fine, but I don't have Solution Center.  I tried running the installation CD for the printer, but Windows can't read it.  Is there a way that I can download Solution Center online?

    Hi,
I afraid the HP Solution Center is no longer available for your printer for Windows 8, only a basic set of drivers is available.
Follow this document to better understand what limited support is offered, its limitations and any applicable workaround:

  • SOLUTION: Get Win 7 Printer Drivers/HP Solution Center to Work on Windows 8

Took me some time to figure it out, but I got it to work.
    First of all, the preliminaries:
I have an HP dv9700t laptop running the 64-bit version of Windows 8 Pro RTM (not the preview, but I assume it will work on Preview as well).  My printer is an HP Photosmart C7280.  If you have a different printer, it is possible that something similar to how I solved my problem will help you, especially by running your installation files in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode.
Windows 8 does come with stock C7280 printer drivers that work by going into Control Panel>Devices and Printers>Add A Printer, but there's only limited functionality with those.  As such, I wanted to run the HP installation files to have increased functionality.
Unfortunately, when I ran the full installation file from HP for my printer, there was no "Install a Printer" button, or any of the other usual buttons.  There was only an "Exit" button.
Here's how to get it to run and install properly.
Right-click on the HP Full Installation file, then Properties>Compatibility>then check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:", then select "Windows 7" in the dropdown box, then Click "OK".
Run the installation file as you normally would in Windows 7.
I tried this two ways.....the first while connected via USB cable.  It worked just fine with no errors.
I also tried it with the printer connected to my network via WiFi.  Ran into some problems.
The installation program would detect my printer just fine, and I clicked "Next" or "OK" or whatever the prompt was to install the printer.  The installation would hang on "Reply from SNMP" (or something similar) and it would list the IP address of my printer.  I waited, waited, waited for an hour, and it wouldn't get past this.  Not to worry.
Proceed with normal installation until you get to the "Reply from SNMP" message and the installation stops responding.
Enter the Task Manager with CTRL-ALT-DEL.  You'll see an entry in the "Apps" for the HP installation program....LEAVE THIS ALONE.
Below the "Apps" list you will see the "Background Processes" list.  In this list is something along the lines of "HP Network UI", or something similar, consuming a significant amount of CPU.  Highlight this entry, then click, "End Task" at the bottom.
The "SNMP" window will close and your installation program will then finish normally and your printer/fax/scanner will be properly installed.  HP Solution Center works normally, as does printing, scanning, etc.
Will the next person who uses this give some feedback and also answer some questions for me so I can update this post with more specific information?
Please let me know what the exact "SNMP" message is when the installation hangs.  Please also let me know the exact name of the "HP Network UI" background process is, as well as the HP Installation app name.
    Hopefully this will help you.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

thanks for the solution. I have an HP Photosmart D110a wireless printer. Windows 8 installed a generic printer driver that worked fine for printing but I lost all functionality to the scanner of the device.
I tried to follow your instructions. I do get an error at some point when the software installer tries to talk to the printer and it gives an error message. It finds the printer OK but stalls. The error message is different and merely reports that there is a problem, no further details. There is indeed a background task "HP Network UI" or similar but ending this task doesn't do anything on my system. The Network UI task ends and the error message stays open. I ended a couple more background tasks but it would not go anywhere.
I then uninstalled the entire package, unplugged the printer, turned its wireless feature off and reinstalled the software in Windows 7 compatibility mode. When it asked to plug in the printer to the USB it finds it right away, the installation continues and is almost finished when it stalls again. This time it reports that it has a problem again and needs to uninstall. Still with the error message and installer open I open the installed "Solution Center" and I can find the printer fine (it actually lists two devices, one being grayed out). It initially gave me an error message when I tried to scan something, but ignored the error. Eventually the scanner worked as intended. I force ended all installer tasks in the task manager and the Solution Center works fine and does all tasks it did under Windows 7, now in Windows 8.
    thanks again for the post
