Solution Manager 7.1 SOLMAN_SETUP - BPO Dashboard Setup stays on red LED

Hi.
We have another strange behaviour in Solman 7.1 Setup->Basic Configuration->Automatic Activities. Step "BPO Dashboard Setup" was first red LED because "Cube 0SM_BPMRH is not active and will now be activated automatically" and then "System status failed for system" without further information in the log.
Now if we execute the step again, the Job AGS_BPO_DASHBOARD finishs successfully, but nonetheless the LED stay red. Also the log below the Automatic Activities list is not updated and has still the two old messages from above in it. I think we refreshed pretty much all buttons on the website and cleared the browser cache.
And by the way: I can't find the mentioned cube in RSA1, isn't this the place where all the cubes should be listed?
Any ideas?
Cheers, Tobias

Hi,
My ST level is on SP08 and the note above can't be implemented. The BPO Dashboard Setup is still in RED icon.
What should I do to resolve this?

Thank you!

How can i solve these problems?

    Hello,
The links provided to you are for 7.0 EHP1.
I'm expert in Diagnostics, I kindly ask you to review these links:
    http://service.sap.com/instguides
      -> SAP Components
         -> Release 7.1
You can find all documentation there.
Also in the Wikis: always use the home page to read the links you are entering. So you need to access
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SMSETUP/
There you can see several pages for 7.1 release.
The right procedure is to use transaction SOLMAN_SETUP to set ALL your Solution Manager 7.1.
And you are partially right, SMSY does not need to be maintained manually as the LMDB is now used and will maintain the SMSY automatically. In the setup process it will let you choose if you want to transfer content from SMSY to LMDB, but this is only a one time procedure, this update is not standard.
Please rely on SOLMAN_SETUP, it is very good and it has everything documented and organized.
Don't hesitate to reply here or to open a message for SAP.
    Best regards,
    Guilherme Balbinot

  • Solution Manager Diagnostic setup SM 4.0 NW2004s questions

    Hi Experts,
Am new to solution manager and was trying today to setup SMD for the portals (EP 7.0 NW2004s). Here we have SM 4.0 (NW2004s) or SM 7.0 (as called now) already installed and used for different purpose. So i hope the SMD is already installed for this version. I am able to login to smd/admin page.
    1. I did the monitoring system config. Now when I go to monitored system tab I get this message
Landscape DB is empty. Please make sure Component Analyzer is ready on monitored systems, and use "Refresh" button on this page
We haven't installed the component analyzer on the monitored systems. Where can we find it on SMP?
    2. If any body could provide me with the document for the same or give me just the steps in sequential order for SMD setup or the latest setup guides as am bit confused reading guides I have. The guides available are for NW2004 i.e. SMD setup guide and SMD advanced setup (Version 1.0 June 2006) from SMP.  I have also followed the blogs but there is nothing much on SMD setup.

I would definitely go to the highest support package level if you plan to install support packages. Many fixes have been incorporated.
RCA (Root Cause Analysis) is a function provided by SMD. To set that up check

  • Solution Manager 4.0 client copy

    Hi all,
We have installed solution manager 4.0 SP 12. We have also done a client copy from 001 to 100 in order to work exclusively in the client 100. I have also changed the client reference in RSADMINA table and the UME from 001 to 100. Finally, when I wanted to implement Solution Manager Diagnostics, I have run the "Setup Wizard" and it created automatically the RFC destination "WEBADMIN" but with client 001. I tried to check everywhere where the old client is still mentioned in both ABAP and Java parts, but no way. Could you tell me please if I forgot something to do after the client copy? Where can I change definitively the reference of the old client?
Thanks in advance for your action.
    Regards,

Did you use client 000 as your source client (001 as the user master)?  You should not client copy from source 001 as of solman 4.0.

  • EP6 monitoring in Solution Manager 4.0

I just installed Solution Manager 4.0 and try to setup monitoring for our EP6 SP15. Currently I have ran the registration from Visual Admin on Portal, in RZ21 of the solution manager I can see the portal server as remote agent, in RZ20 under "J2EE engine" also can see the portal server. But how do I set it up under "DSWP" so I can see the alert screen for the portal?

    Hi,
our Enterprise Portal is a java-only system. Bescause of that I don´t know how to bring a J2EE to my Systemlandscape.
After all I read until now I configured it by registering the ccmsagent at my CEN (Sm 4.0). Afterwards I could see the MTEs of our Portal-system in CCMS.
For availabiity monitoring I also "Uploaded" the heartbeats for J2EE-Engine and Portal. (visual Admin : Server -> Services -> Monitoring -> GRMG Customizing)They can now be managed within transaction GRMG as scenarios.

  • Using TREX in SAP Solution Manager

    Dear all,
I want to setup TREX for document search purpose in my SAP Solution manager system.
There is already TREX installed on another system, & I have setup the connection between solution manager & TREX.
My question is , in order to use TREX for document search , I need to connect solution manager to Knowledge warehouse?
    is this true?
why can't we use TREX to search document in SAP Solution manager, BUT to use functions of SAP Knowledge Warehouse 6.0 or SAP Knowledge Provider, to store documents?
and anyone can show me more detail documentation about the configuration?
thank you very much to share!
    kelly

    Hi Kelly,
You can have a look into the SAP Solution Manager system and there you can call transaction SPRO. You find information for TREX installation with the path:
Solution Manager Implementation Guide ->SAP Solution Manager -> Configuration -> Cross Scenario Settings -> TREX Setup

  • Request Solution Manager Key

    Hi,
I am trying to install SAP on a test machine just for training and testing purposes and this test machine will not be connected to any current landscape. Now the installation is asking to enter Solution manager key. I searched for how to generate it and a found some articles and SAP notes but my question is: do I have to generate Solution manager key using our production Solution manager? When I initiated the setup, I selected to install only ABAP and SAP R/3 Enterprise. Now how can I complete my installation? If I don?t want to use our production Solution manager, do I have to restart the installation and select to install solution manager in addition to ABAP and R/3 Enterprise?
    Regards,
    Wilson

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for your help, but seem some the flag function is missing or dim, can you address for me, thanks!
In the SAP Solution Manager system, Call the system landscape maintenance (transaction SMSY), in your Solution Manager system. Create the system for which you want to generate the installation key, in the system landscape:
    1. Select the landscape component Systems, and choose Create New System from the context menu.
    2. Enter the system ID as system in the next dialog box.
    3.  Choose the product and product version from the possible entries help. Save.
    4.  Complete the system data as far as possible.
    5.  Save your entries.
    Generate the key:
    1.  Choose   Other Object in the   System Landscape  , menu.
    2. Set the System flag, [ I COULD NOT FOUND THIS FLAG] and choose the system to be installed or upgraded, from the possible entries help. If you created the system in the SAP Solution Manager, in the previous step, choose this system.
    3.  Choose Generate Installation/Upgrade Key.
    4.  Enter the required data and choose Generate Key.
    **The system displays the key.

  • Solution manager diagnostics

    Hello.
I have installed SMD agent in a monitored system in order to obtain EWA non-ABAP from this system.
I go to http://<host>:<port>/smd and the agent is running. I go to setup wizard for this managed system and the result is ok, all the semaphores are green.
The problem is that, when i try to do the other task, the solution manager diagnostics don't recognize the setup done.
I receive this message : -No setup or configuration steps performed yet-
I,ve followed the note 1014999 but the result is not ok.
I don't know what step i'm missing, so if someone has got an answer, please, tell me, because i've tried lot of things and i don't know how can i continue.
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards

    Hello.

  • Solution Manager 7.1 SP4: Session Timeout during SOLMAN_SETUP

    Hello Experts,
We recently installed Solution Manager 7.1 SP4 on Linux/Oracle. We also completed the System Preparation and Basic Configuration part of the SOLMAN_SETUP wizard as well (which includes applying the Central Correction Note and other steps).
During the Managed System Setup Part, as soon as we click on the Configure System for a managed system - a new window opens up and immediately we get the below timeout messages:
This session will terminate due to inactivity in 0:00 minutes
To continue working in this session, choose 'Continue Session'
The above is immediately followed by the actual session timeout message:
This session terminated due to inactivity.
    Click Close Popup
or to start new session, press F5.
Now even if we press F5/Refresh, the same cycle repeats.
I already checked the ICM timeout parameters as mentioned in the Guide and further findings with regards to ITS update as in thread WEBGUI Timeout immediately after logging in
Applying the latest kernel patch also did not help. The strange issue is that the session timeout occurs only the LMDB related services, wherease normal services like WEBGUI etc work fine.
Please suggest if anyone came across this issue, especially after update to SP04.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Srikishan

    Hi,
Thanks, I will check the note steps and close this thread accordingly.
Perhaps I need to hone my notes searching skills !

  • Solman_setup and central&local solution manager SLD

    Hello,
I'm configuring our solution mananger system with transaction solman_setup. The local SLD of the solution manager will also be the central SLD of all our systems. After finishg the basic configuration in solman_setup, and go to "managed system configuration", I  can only see the only solution manager system, as ABAP and as JAVA, but no more systems (right, as I haven't defined more systems).
I cannot create more ABAP  system with the link "maintain technical systems", the ABAP option when I select create isn't there.
If I create another type of system as a test, for example, third party, the transaction SMSY can see this new system, but the SLD in http://<my_solution_manager_system>:50000/sld doesn't show this new system at all.
Where must I create the systems? and how can I connect the SLD and the SMSY transaction? Should I "add SLD" at the Administration in http://<my_solution_manager_system>:50000/sld and put the suolution manager itsefl system?
Thanks in advance for your help and best regards,
    Ana

    Hi,
To ensure a system is registering into the SLD and synchronising with SMSY, go to transaction RZ70 and define the Host and Service.
Also, set up a user for accessing the SLD in transaction SLDAPICUST. The user has to exist in the Java stack to log into the SLD.
Also ensure your RFCs are correctly set up for LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI as per this link:
    https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-37953?treeid=DOC-7936
Then use transaction SLDCHECK to ensure your connection is working.
Finally enable SLD synchronisation into SMSY by transaction SMSY > Goto > Setup System Landscape Maintenance. Define the same host and port of your SLD and schedule the data transfer.
This should pick up the system once the landscape_fetch background job executes into SMSY.
You can use this approach for all your managed systems and is the most logical way to connect systems to the SLD.
    Regards,
    -Rohan

  • Setup of BPO Dashboards and Connector Instance

    Hello,
I have maintained a monitoring object (Deliveries) at the Logical Component level. I am trying to set up my 1st dashboard and have some questions.
The only choice for the connector instance is BPM_Detail_List (Analytics_DL_default). This seems logical since it relates to the analytical keyfigure repository name. However, when I try to update the AKF Repository for htis connector instance I am getting a short dump.
I am not getting any data in my dashboard and there are no results for the characteristic values when I try to create a filter.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Steven
Do you already apply pre-requisite notes.
It is very important to implement the pre-requisite notes for BP Analytics and BPO Dashboard.
Depending on your SolMan SPs level, there are couple of SAP Notes you need to apply.
And SAP Note 1759233 provides all the important notes that you should apply when you start with BP Analytics and BPO Dashboard.
So please make sure you have applyed these notes.
Note 1759233 contains 3 important information.
1.SAP Notes that should be applied for your SolMan.
2.SAP Notes that should be applied to your managed system (ERP)
       like 1900144 and 1935058
3.Link to the another SAP Notes that contain Monitor repository correction.
It is 1848622. In this SAP Notes, it provides list of repository correction of certain key figure.
So if your key figure is related to the note correction, you need to apply.
Maybe you can inform following 3 information for better advice.
    1.Your SolMan SP level
    2.Your managed system ST-A/PI release and sp level. e.g 01Q SP2
    3. Which delivery key figure. exact name.
Beside the above information, here is some comment.
If your SolMan is more than SP8 or Note 1819020 is applied, you do not need to update AKF manually in connector direcly. After you setup BP Analytics Monitor and activation, automaticaly repositiory inforamtion is created. So no need to execute AKF update.
According to yoru inforamtion, you mentioned you do not see the data in 0SM_BPMRH.
    This indicates 2 potential issue.
1)Data collection in managed system has some issue
2)data collection is conducted but Extractor Framework is not working.
In another thread, you mentioned your BPMon monitor works. So I consider (1) possibility is small.
Maybe you can double check ST22 in ERP and whether you can see any suspiciou dump.
(starting with SolMan user, program /SSA/EKP). if not I assume data might be collected
especially if you setup same monitor for BPMon and you can see alert in alert inbox.
If you do not see any data in alert inbox (grey status), I also recommend whether your RFC user (Read RFC or TMW RFC user as of SP10 has copy role of SAP_MANAGED_BPOANA_ALL)
For (2), you need to check extractor status.
Just go to T-CD E2E_EXTRACTOR_FWK and check the status of extractor "BPMon Transactional Data Extractor".
    Hope above information help you.
    Best Regards
    keiji
