Solution Manager Setup System Monitoring DB Administrating Alerts

Greetings experts
Can someone please explain how I can get "DB Administrating Alerts" to display in Solution Manager.
Satellite system (FSD) database MTE's are all active (RZ20).
Tcode: DSWP / tab:Solution Monitoring / tab:System Monitoring /
Service: Setup System Monitoring
Tree:
Setup System Monitoring
                       +-->  SAP System FSD 1320011126
                                                         +-->  Database FSD-DATABASE
|
                                                                                +-->  Administrating DB FSD-DATABASE (DB2 6000)
Issue: DB Administrating Alerts do not display.

HI
1.Do i need to configure the CCMS_OnAlert_Email, for every alert that you have, in the satellite system?
Best thing I would say is to copy method ( RZ21 --> Method --> Method definition )CCMS_OnAlert_Email to Z_CCMS_OnAlert_Email in Solman and assign this auto reaction to  MTE class of satellite systems.
2. How do i configure this out of solution manager, and bypassing the satellite system?
You have to install/configure sapccm4x( for monitoring abap ) on satellite systems by giving details about Solution manager. Then the alert will be sent to Solution manager from satellite system and the configured auto reaction will send mails .

  • Setup Central System Administratin and Setup System Monitoring grayed out

When trying to setup Central Sytem Administration and System Monitoring via SOLUTION_MANAGER.>Operations Setup->Solution Monitoring->Setup Central System Administration (or Setup System Monitoring).  The link does not work.  However, Setup Earlywatch Alert link works (in Operations Setup->Solution Monitoring->Setup Earlywatch Alert).
We have just brought SolMan 4.0 up to SolMan 7.0 (applied support packs up to 16).  I am not sure if I am missing a step to activate this functionality; or if perhaps I have an authorization issue.  I have been through the Security Guid for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 as of SP16, and have reviewed note 834534 and been assigned authorizations accordingly....with one exception:  In note 834534, page 4, it states that the configuration user should have SAP_ALL.  However, I am getting push-back from IT Governance and my request for SAP_ALL is being rejected.
We have installed software components, in particular ST (Release 400, level 17); ST-SER (700_2008_1, Level 004; and ST-PI (2005_1_700 Level 18); of which I believe ST-SER is key.
    Has anyone encountered this issue?

    Hi,
Yes, This could be an authorization issue.
You are able to Setup Early Watch Alert because you may have the role
SAP_SETUP_DSWP_EWA (full authorization for EarlyWatch Alert setup).
Assign these roles, you wil be able to setup System Monitoring and Administration.
    1. SAP_SV_SOLUTION_MANAGER (full authorization for all sessions)
    2. SAP_SETUP_DSWP (full authorization for all setup sessions)
    3. SAP_SETUP_DSWP_SM (full authorization for System Monitoring setup)
    4. SAP_SETUP_DSWP_CSA (full authorization for Central System Administration setup)
    5. SAP_SETUP_DSWP_SLR (full authorization for Service Level Report setup)
    Also check these roles:
SAP_OP_DSWP (full authorization for all Operations sessions)
SAP_OP_DSWP_EWA (full authorization for EarlyWatch Alert operations)
SAP_OP_DSWP_SM (full authorization for System Monitoring Operations)
SAP_OP_DSWP_CSA (full authorization for Central System Administration operations)
SAP_OP_DSWP_SLR (full authorization for Service Level Report Operations)
This is the authorization object D_SOL_VIEW  used in these roles.

  • How to setup system monitoring of EP 7 to Solution Manger 7.0

    Hi Experts,
I need help for configuring EP 7 (only JAVA engine) for system to Solution Manger 7.0. IF anyone of you have steps or config guide pls help me ???

    Hi Vikas,
In general, system monitoring in SAP Solution Manager use CCMS as the data supplier, which means that, you need to configure CCMS alert infrastructure for your EP system.
    General steps:
    1. Configure solution manager or other ABAP system as the CEN (central) system as the CCMS infrastructure.
    2. Install SAPCCMSR agent (which is part of CCMS Agent), and connect the agent to CEN system
    3. Setup system monitoring in Solution Manager
For more information, you can access the help portal of SAP.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks, Jett

  • Setup system monitoring wrong text

    Dear all,
After implementing Basis patch SAPKB70011 togather with SAPKITL420, Solution Manager system displays wrong text for Alerts in SOLUTION_MANAGER transaction -> Solution Monitoring-> System monitoring -> Operation setup in Setup system monitoring.
expl: for Setup Monitoring for SAP System...  all rows shows the same Spool wait time
for Errors / Administrating of ... all rows shows the same Abap error in update
and every time this text is changed when I execute Setup system monitoring.
Should I implement SAPKITL421, SAPKITL422, and SAPKITL423 and are these patches connected with SAPKB70012, SAPKB70013, .. ? Is it necesary when implementing SAPKITL421 to be togather with SAPKB70012 and equivalent, because when I tried to implement SAPKB70011 alone it shows that there is a conflict with the add-on SAPKITL420 and muste be also implemented.
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Ruzica

    Hello,
Does anyone knows sometinhg about the connection between SAPKITL- and basis patches SAPKB700?
If I need to implement SAPKITL--- patches should I also implement Basis patches?

  • Setup System Monitoring -- How to transfer Information J2EE

    Hi Experts,
I got an issue trying to transfer information of satellite system (J2EE) to Solution Manager ->Operation Setup->Setup System Monitoring
I installed the ccmsr agent and tx RZ20 shows the information of the alerts, but I can see it in Setup System Monitoring.
On the other hand I added the systems in SMSY.
    Regards.

In tx rz20 we have to copy the information of each MTE and select properties, then paste that in the third row (agent name) of the alert and save.

  • Solution Manager Setup & Configuartion

    Hi There
This is a question on Solution Manager setup.
We are in the process of configuring Solution manager. Basically we have installed two Sol Man 7.0 (Ehp1) systems development (SOD)  and Production (SOP)
We are insterested in configuring EWA and also would want CCMS monitoring (diagnostics) for our R3, SCM,and BI systems and we are not implementing CHARM, Service Desk or any other functionalities. I would like to know how to proceed with utilising the Dev and prod Solution manager systems for acheiving the above. I would like to get some suggestion on which system should be used to configure the EWA and monitoring. These are the two scenarios that I am considering and would like some suggestion on.
    Scenario1:
create Dev Landsacpe & Solution for Dev systems in SOD and Prod Landsacpe & Solution for Production systems in SOP
Turn on EWA and Diagnostics for Prod system in SOP
    Scenario2:
create Dev Landsacpe & Solution for Dev systems in SOD and a master landscape and solutions for all the systems (Dev& Prod) in SOP. Turn on EWA and Diagnostics for Prod systems in SOP
What are the pros and cons for the above options ? Is there any other better options ?
NOTE: We do not have PI(or XI) and have no other Landsacpe config except for BI systems which have been installed as a local SLD. Our R3 4.7 and SCM are on SAP BASIS 620. The idea is to turn on EWA and monitor only the production systems. We are not implementing any Business Solutions in Sol Man system.
    Thanks

This is the SAP recommended way to create your solutions. All Dev Systems into one solution and All PRD systems into a separate solution.
check this note 1257308 for EWA FAQs.

  • Setup System Monitoring

    Hello,
I am trying to setup system monitoring for different systems in solution manager but the 'Setup System Monitoring' is disabled.
In solman I go to Solution_manager --> Operations Setup --> on the right side pane 'Setup System Monitoring' is disabled. How can you change this to change mode so that you can configure monitoring for different systems? Any idea, please help.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello,
If your System Monitoring seems disabled, have you performed the IMG activities in transaction SPRO for system monitoring?
SPRO > SAP Solution Manager > Scenario-Specific Settings > System Monitoring
If you have not performed these activities, you will need to....and there is Requirements and Prerequisite documentation once you navigate there.
If this is done, System Monitoring should not be disabled. If you have not defined the systems in SMSY or added them to a solution you will not be able to setup monitoring, but it should nto be disabled, just have nothing to do.
So I would start with the SPRO activities and check the   Requirements and Prerequisite have been met and the listed notes applied (949293 and 420213). If this has been done, then make sure you have systems in your solution and if they are not production systems, then you must manually set the status to "Put in Solution" in the solution to be able to use them in system monitoring.
It sounds like your IMG activities in SPRO have not been done.

    Paul

    Hi,
we should create one logical comp for one product systems of Dev,qua, prd ( For ERP dev, qua, prd 1 logical comp, for PI dev, qua, prd 1 logical comp)
regarding your solution monitoring thing, have you assigned the logical component to your solution?chk the below

For your auto fill of created by,have you created BP for curresponding users in solman? and define the "Partner Determination Procedure" for the reporter as "User".(remove the old one as 'SAP Service : Determination via IBase/Ind. Object for Ref. Object Set' and set to user)
    Please check and update

  • Create New Service Session at Solution Manager = Product System missing

We have installed SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 last year but not really use it.
We have setup in the system landscape:
    Server (ecc6sbx)
    Databases (MCD)
Product System (MCD) => SAP ERP
Assigned them to logical component (eg ZECC6DEV)
RFC destination for MCD was generated
SDCCN Administration at solutions manager display MCD with SDCCN status in green color.
At the satellite system MCD, SDCCN Maintenance job was created and scheduled. Initial single run was also done.
There were no issue. Connection to SDCC_OSS was fine.
Back to the SOLUTION_MANAGER transaction, we created a new solution ECC ERP - Development.
In the Solution Landscape => Solution Settings, we have assigned the Logical Component into the System Group.
However when we expand the tree, and click on the Servers folder it did not display anything.
Click on the Product Systems also did not display anything.
We have another Solution Manager which display information on those Servers and Product Systems folder for satellite system.
Going back to the Solution Manager for the Solution ECC ERP - Development, I tried to Create New Service Session for EarlyWatch Alert. When  I click on the Create button, I could only see SAP EarlyWatch Alert for Solutions, there is no SAP EarlyWatch Alert for the Reference Object MCD (<installation number). I could not create a session for MCD.
Does anyone have ideas what I am missing here? I am trying to attached a document which have print screen for reference while creating this message, but there is no such function here.
Adding to link to the document file contain print screen

Anyway, in the solution manger  how to we setup earlywatch alert for the SM SID host itself (source system)?
I have the information on the below from our solution manger
The data for this session is overdue. Data has not yet been transferred from the associated satellite system.
Go to the Service Data Control Center (transaction SDCCN) in the satellite system and check why the data has not been sent.
    Typical sources of errors are:
The RFC connection for the SAP Solution Manager system is not working.
The 'Task Processor' background job, which collects the session data, has been changed.
Problems arose while data was being collected (see the detail log for the task that collects the session data).
A periodic 'SDCC Maintenance Package' task has not been scheduled to check whether your SAP Solution Manager system requests session data.
I tried to go SDCCN on the solution manager itself and look at the Maintenance Service Definitions:
    I get the information:
No suitable RFC Destination found in SDCCN settings.
When I click ok I get the following
No RFC destionation to source system of service definitions available
Delete Service Definitions (radio button selected).
I did not continue and cancel it as I did not want to delete anything.
I check the Task Processor background job is running at SM host itself.
I managed to get the Maintenance Package job running. However it failed with the following
Error refreshing service definitions from destination SM_SSMCLNT001_BACK
Source and target system may not be identical SSM
The source and target system is the same ==> SSM, will this be an issue?

  • Solution Manager Create remote monitoring entry

    Hello,
I need some help or clarification please. We just upgraded our Solution Manager to EHP1 spk25 and I'm trying to setup Solman to support central system monitoring. I'm on the last step to enter the moitored ABAP system in CEN through RZ21  Techincal >Configure Central System>Create remote monitoring entry.
I can enter my own System ID but can't enter the RFC destination ?  These default to *_RZ20_Collect and *_RZ20_Analyze.  I want to use the RFC's already in place through Charm since these are already setup and working correctly.  Can someone tell me how to change this or why we have to use the defaults.
    Thanks in advance
    Stephanie

    Please disregard.
    Thanks
