[solved-ish]hardware / 3D acceleration problems with Nvidia drivers

Question

Hi,
I am getting really slow response with 3d applications. I just tried glxgears and am not getting any more than 3 fps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any ideas would be appreciated.
