[SOLVED]KVM error for Intel CPU

KVM: entry failed, hardware error 0x80000021
If you're running a guest on an Intel machine without unrestricted mode
support, the failure can be most likely due to the guest entering an invalid
state for Intel VT. For example, the guest maybe running in big real mode
which is not supported on less recent Intel processors.
It is OK for WinXP/Linux guest run at text, but it failed after entering graphic mode. How to resolve this problem, thansk very much

with code tags that post looks  a lot better, netawater.
The lscpu output shows that virtualization is enabled four your system (didn't really doubt that, but wanted to be sure).

Apart from the fact you use a very specific set of hardware for the VM, i don't see anything special.
A search with duckduckgo lead me to this german blog : virtualisierung-mit-kvm-und-virtuelle-netzwerke-mit-vde .
(section KVM Hardware Error).
The error the blog poster got looks very similar to yours, and was solved by applying a special parameter to the kvm_intel kernel module.
try loading the module with
modprobe kvm_intel emulate_invalid_guest_state=0
and test if that solves the problem.
(it's probably best to rmmod the kvm_intel module before giving the above command)

Well, after looking at the text your compiler so helpfully gave you:
    symbol : method toString (char)
    location: class java.lang.Character
g2.drawString(Character.toString(ch), xPos, yPos); And consulting the API docs (which I Strongly Suggest you read) for the java.lang.Character class (a clue I found in the above text) I see absolutely no static method called "toString" that takes a char. Thus, it is my esteemed opinion, that there is no static method with a signature of toString(char) in the Character class, and your attempt to use it on line 96 of your RandomLetterApplet.java file is causing this error.
    Is that solved?

  • [SOLVED] Compilation error for lib32 Soundtouch

    Hi all!
I'm trying to create a lib32 package for SoundTouch from source. I based the PKGBUILD in the current avaialble in extra repository (found it in here). I'm trying to compile it, but I don't have much experience with compilation and therefore I having a hard time here.
Please take a look in files in the links below:
    PKGBUILD http://aur.pastebin.com/SUiBUq7E

Output for "LC_ALL=C makepkg -sL" http://pastebin.com/1X8UCyaK
    src/soundtouch/config.log http://pastebin.com/AEWMXAF9
What is wrong and how can I fix this error?
    Thanks in advance!

Ahh, forget it. I added a lazy option "--with-pic" to the command "./configure" and that's all. It works. Next time, I'll sleep, wake up, take a breath and then try to compile again.
Case solved, package available in AUR http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=45562

  • [Solved] ^has_journal error for encrypted USB installation

    Hi,
I am trying to install Arch on an encrypted USB stick, but i am facing a challenge in the very initial stages.
Its been advised that if installing arch on a USB stick, one should disable journaling. But the command to format to ext4 without journaling fails. Here is what i am doing
    # cryptsetup -y -v luksFormat /dev/sda2
    # cryptsetup open /dev/sda2 cryptroot
    # mkfs.ext4 -O ^has_journal /dev/sda2
the mkfs.ext4 command above gives the following error:
/dev/sda2 is apparently in use by the system; will not make a filesystem here
Instead, when i use the slightly modified version of the original command specified in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dm … _with_LUKS, i get the following error:
    mkfs -t ext4 -O ^has_journal /dev/mapper/cryptroot
    Invalid filesystem option set: install.txt
Can you advise whats going wrong with the mkfs.ext4 command?

  • Why does MSI P4N have no support for Intel Preslor and Asus Nforce 4 does??

Well as you've probably guessed it im new to the forums (howdy all  ). I currently own a MSI P4N diamond motherboard and quite frankly i most dissapointed with what has been called (by too many reviewers) a great board.
First off i see very little changes taking place with each bios update, of which does not seem to happen regularly at all. (lets face it no board is perfect especially the Nforce 4 range from MSI for Intel CPU's).
Secondly overclocking a Pentium D 830, which i may add should be capable of overclocking very well on an Intel Nforce board, can barley reach 3.4 Ghz (i know its mobo issue as the CPU is water cooled and overclocks to way beyond 3.7 on an 955X board).
Thirdly the North bridge fan was poorly stuck on my motherboard in that on installing my motherboard into my case it popped off like the lid of a pringles tub by a slight movement of my hand  .
And last but least... why does the MSI P4N diamond motherboard not support Intels latest 65nm CPU's when ASUS's and Gigabyte's Nforce 4 motherboards work well with the Pentium D and the 65nm range of Intel CPU's. Upon also reading about the next gen of Intel CPU's the Conroe, the 975X motherboards will support the future CPU via a bios update and it has been said that the same is likely to happen for the Nforce 4 range... however once again due to the lack of support for the MSI P4N diamond by MSI i believe all of us owners of this pathetic (an over statement really but its going to be that way if MSI keeps this up) over hyped motherboard will get a simple NO in the CPU support table for the next gen range of CPU's.

Where did you get the information regarding the MSI P4N diamond's release date?
Are you in the United Kingdom? As it was released at the same time as the other Nforce 4 boards here (i was on the edge of my seat waiting for the Nforce boards to be released on overclockers.co.uk for sale) In the end though i bought my mothreboard in October, which is a good few weeks after release.
Is there any kind of SLI 32 on MSI's plans? this is what worries me as they have made a move in the 975X department but have not made any further developmentes in the Nforce range for Intel, which to the average joe kind of indicates loss of intrest in this field from the company.
I am overall pleased with my motherboard, when using a single core CPU, as overclocking was a sheer joy, but as soon as the dual core CPU went in the mothreboard behaves like a drunk man coming from a pub. I am aware that the Nforce 4 chipsets struggle with the dual core CPU's but surely Nvidia were informed by Intel about the dual core CPU's being released in the future.

  • How to solve the Error in Action for illustrator cs3

Through action in illustrator cs3 i changed the document mode RGB to CMYK via Visual Basic. But sometimes it throws 2 different kinds of error messages.

Could you please explain how to solve this error.

The input data provided as the first argument to ore.tableApply and rqTableEval are physically being moved from Oracle Database to the database server R engine, and then serially operating on the entire table  The benefit to using ore.tableApply/rqTableEval in this case is the potentially greater amount of RAM on the database server.  But it's important to note that R’s memory limitations still apply in this case.
You may have already seen the blog post on Managing Memory Limits and Configuring Exadata for Embedded R Execution where we discuss setting memory limits for the database server R engine. These suggestions can be used to load reasonably sized data tables, and you may still encounter limitations when using a very large table.
In contrast to the "table apply" functions, the "group Eval" and "row eval (" functions are parallel-enabled embedded R execution functions. They support data-parallel execution, where one or more R engines perform the same R function, or task, on different partitions of data. The following training and blog links should be helpful in choosing the correct function for your use case:

Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with networks that require any kind of authentication other than a WPA or WPA2 Personal password.
When the Mac OS X Utilities screen appears, follow the prompts to reinstall the Mac OS. You don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac didn’t ship with Lion, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.
Don't install the Thunderbolt update -- it's defective.

  • [SOLVED] Xorg crash - KolourPaint - intel

    Hello.
I have a ASUS 1001HA netbook. I'm running the latest xorg-server xf86-video-intel and KDE from the stable Archlinux repos.
    Xorg crash when I do:
    1) open KolourPaint, and select the pen tool.
    2) start drawing your name quickly(or some doodle) by pressing the left button of your mouse(or your touchpad) without releasing it.
    3) Xorg crashes.

  • Problem installing Palm Desktop 4.0 on Mac (Intel CPU + OS 10.5.6)

    Hello,
When installing Palm Desktop 4.0 on my Mac (MacBookPro= Intel CPU + OS 10.5.6), the installation fails when trying to install the last files (.prc files). I cannot find any installation log to know what the problem exactly is. If I try anyway to run the software, Palm Desktop seems to run OK, but HotSync Manager fails (error related to "PPC-lib").
The problem is I am still using my old but fine Visor, so I don;t think I can install a more recent version of Palm Desktop.
    Thanks for any help  !
    Post relates to: Visor Deluxe

Hello Walter and welcome to the Palm forums.
For such a new Mac, I'm fairly certain, you are going to have to use Palm Desktop 4.2.1 Rev D or later (I believe that Rev D is the latest) for Mac OS X.  You can download Palm Desktop 4.2.1 Rev D for Mac OS from the Palm website.  You may need to pick a newer Palm handheld to gain access to the download link.  If that is the case, pick the Tungsten T5, it should require Palm Desktop 4.2.1 Rev D.

  • Driver Intel USB 3.0 Driver for Intel 8 and U/Y Series doesn't work with a specific Kingston USB

Hello guys, just the other problem I'm facing with the 840 G2
I'm working in the MDT image for the HP 840 G2 and I would like to comment you one problem that I found with the USB 3.0 drivers. Based in your webpage, the last HP USB 3.0 official drivers are:
Intel USB 3.0 Driver for Intel 8 and U/Y Series Products
    3.0.1.41 A from 15 dic 2014
I have found that those drivers doesn't work properly; if you insert a Kingston DTSE9 (32GB) the content of the usb will not be accessible randomly. The event viewer will display:
The driver detected a controller error on \device\harddisk1\DR13
To solve this problem you have to obtain the last version of the drivers from the Intel webpage:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22824/USB-3-0-Driver-Intel-USB-3-0-eXtensible-Host-Control...
I have all the drivers properly installed and it seems that the computer is working fine, however I'm a little worry thinking if I should update all the driver to avoid possible problem like this one.
If you have found similar problems it would be nice to share it.
    Thank you very much.

  • MSI X79-GD65(8D) gives a posting error 63 Late CPU Initialize

    Hey Guys.
I have recently purchased new hardware.
    MSI X79-GD65(8D) Motherboard
    Intel i7 3820 CPU
    4 X Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3-1600 RAM
    MSI GTX660Ti Power edition GPU
    Corsair 750W Professional series PSU
    Corsair H80 CPU Cooler
I haven't overclocked ht e mobo, but on cold boot, the mobo doesn't initialize, gives a post error 63, refered to the mobo manual, it says it means late CPU initialize. Checked the BIOS, running version 1.7 and according to MSI download site for the CPU support list.
The memory is in quad channel as it shows in a diagram in the mobo manual. If I switch the pc off, and back on, it initializes and boots, the pc runs stable, it can run 48 hours no hassle, passes burn in tests to, just the first cold boot doesn't initialize.
Any ideas for what to look at would be great.
    Thank you.

A little hint for you: Don't try any of the .1B betas as they run horrible. I had to remove the latest .1B3 as it bricked the board and had to be recovered.
1.18 B7 is still the best bios to use:

I'd suggest the later Bios 1.18 B7 which I'm also using with the i7-3820 (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=154186.msg1192427#msg1192427)
