Solved (No Broadband account)

A lot of the problems are caused by BT not including your telephone number in your account details. Log-in then go  Edit Account. No need to enter your password on this page, just click (Back to my Profile) you will be at "Welcome to your My BT Profile page" where your account number is shown click Edit and make sure your Current telephone number is inserted, save and go back to BT Sports page and try again. Good Luck

That solve the problem. Thanks

  • Combining telephone and broadband accounts not hap...

When I tried to upgrade my broadband online I kept being told that there was a fault with my account.  When I telephoned on 15 April for help I was told that I did not have a broadband account on my account.  I have been paying a direct debit and using broadband since 2003!!!!!!!
Eventually I was told that my broadband account was a separate account and it needed to be combined with my telephone account before I can upgrade my broadband.  This would be done.  I would then be able to upgrade my broadband and receive a new hub.
Two weeks later and nothing had happened.  I telephoned on 29 April and during a 30 minute call explained it all again.  I was told that the Exceptions Team would have to combine the two accounts and then my broadband would be upgraded and a new hub sent to me.  I was told that the Supervisor was going to take personal charge of this problem and it would be fast-tracked.
Today is 7 May and still nothing has happened.  Help, please, someone.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The day after I contacted the Forum I had a very helpful telephone call from Neil, one of the BT Forum Moderators, on Thursday, 8 May.  We talked about the problem that I was experiencing.  It was very easy to talk to Neil.  I am nearly seventy and not up in all the technical terms, but he understood what I told him in my own words and explained everything in a way that I understood.  He promised that he would get everything sorted out this week and gave me a direct line telephone number so that I could call him up and speak to him if I wanted too.
This morning, Thursday 15 May, Neil telephoned me again to say that everthing is sorted out.  My telephone account and broadband account have been combined and I am now on Unlimited Broadband.  I am now paying about half the amount that I was previously for two separate accounts.   My Home Hub 4 should be here next week and Neil talked me through how to connect it.
When I sign in now to My BT my account page is quite different as everything is updated.
My old broadband account was closed to new subscribers years ago and the BT staff I spoke to on previous telephone calls had no knowledge of it.  I was even told by one person that I did not have a broadband account.  Neil knew exactly what my old account was and was able to get it changed to Unlimited Broadband.  Without his help I would probably never have got the problem sorted.
    Many, many thanks to Neil.

  • Trying to add my broadband account to my ebilling ...

    Hello,
I have two accounts: the line and broadband.
I registered the first, line, account on ebilling.
When I try to register the second, broadband, account I have an error about
"There was a problem adding this account to your profile. Please check your details & try again."
All of the details are correct. Help?

    Hi Kiswa,
Sorry to hear of the problems you are having, I can help.
I think the problem that you are having relates to you trying to add your broadband account number with your landline telephone number.  This will not work as you already use that telephone number with your landline account number.
Do you use broadband Talk?  If so go back to your online billing account and input your broadband account number with your broadband Talk telephone number, this should do the trick and after 48 hours you will be able to view your broadband bills online as well as your landline account.
Unfortunately if you do not use broadband Talk then you will not be able to add your broadband account to your online billing profile.  If you have any problems with this please get back to me as I can help.
    Cheers

  • You can only log in using your primary BigPond Broadband account

Hi I recently moved from QLD to WA and moved my bundle with me, I had foxtel on tbox over there but the box got left in the move so I bought another one today.  I have tried to register it but it comes up with the following message ' You can only log in using your primary BigPond Broadband account , If you can’t remember your primary account username and password, you will need to speak to a Customer Service Representative on 1800 331 402 So after calling the first time the lady registered the tbox and I thought that would be me on my way so I hung up and tried to get foxtel on tbox.  Ended up getting the same message and now my tbox does not appear to be registered at all.  So after another call which lasted around 30mins of me being on hold and a 3 way conversation where both telstra members were trying to fob responsibility off to each other and one being quite rude I was told I would be called back.. After another half an hour the guy called back and said that I could not get foxtel on tbox at my address.  To me this seems like Im being fobbed off as he didnt know what the problem was,  I am in a unit and I checked my address on the telstra website which stated 'great news, foxtel on tbox is available in your area' and after being told I couldnt get it, I put a note on the notice board of the aparment block to see if anyone else had foxtel and they do so clearly that is not the problem. Can anyone advise what to do or who to speak too to try and clear this up? Thank you

There are times like this I wish I could log in to customers accounts and fix it however not allowed  ESQ check which is a serviceability check and checks what services are available at your address. So if it says Foxtel Tbox is eligible then its all good to go then this wouldn't be the problem mate. What needs to happen is that your email address and serial number might be still on the admin portal of the tbox registration. However you said Tbox support have removed this from the account in saying that this can take a little while to be completely removed from our records which would then allow you to register a new device. Try the registration a little later on or again tomorrow and see how you go. Please let us know how you get along. Cheers bud.

  • Help with broadband account

    Hi
OK we have two phone lines, one has broadband on option1 with a non wireless router. (this is at my parents home and I pay the bills)
OK I access most of my email and pretty much do most if not all of my internet surfing from my partners home using her wireless broadband, (as I now spend most of my time there with her) this has been going on for a few years now and I'm seriously beginning to think this is a daft situation, I'm paying for a broadband service I'm not using (with exception access to my email) I've kept it going purely to keep my email address.
I read recently that I could retain my email address if I subscribe to BT Yahoo premium mail @ £1.54 per month, so if I were able to cancel my broadband (saving a fortune) could I still retain my current email and carry on accessing this as I do now from my partners?
If I can do the above, how do I go about doing it? do I need to sign up for the premium mail before I cancel my account? or can I do it after?
    Hope the above is clear
    Thanks
    Steady Eddy

    Hi Steady Eddy,
    Welcome to the forum.
Once you cancel your broadband account you will have 90 days in which to sign up to Premium Mail.  After the 90 days your email address will go on a list for deletion.  To sign up to Premium mail please do so via this link BT Yahoo! Premium Mail
Once you sign up you will be able to retain your BT Internet email address and continue to use this in the way you have been.  If you have any sub accounts associated with your primary email address then this will be included in the monthly rental of Premium mail.
    Hope this info help.
    Cheers

  • Does the BT Broadband account username/password ha...

I'm a little confused as to whether the BT Broadband account username and password has any significance. Let me explain. I have just upgraded the Broadband plan on one site and BT sent me a new Business Hub 5. I didn't need it as I have installed a TPLink 9980 VDSL router there, so I decided to use it at another location where I have BT Infinity but with the separate HomeHub 3 and Openreach modem.
However, when I came to install it I couldn't remember my BT account password (I knew the username from the HomeHub 3). So instead I just tried the username and password from the other site and it worked fine. What's the score there ? I assume I am not using the account from the original site as that would be a major loophole in BT's accounting. Therefore it would seem that the username and password are redundant and it purely goes on knowing which physical line it is connected to, in which case why is there any need for login credentials at all ?

  • Merging Broadband account - at the absolute end of...

Please help me speak to someone who can DO something. I'll try to keep this long & complicated story brief and hopefully as accurate as I can.
Last month I got notification (first ever in 7 years) that I was using up my Broadband allowance. I also got a notification I had moved to BT Total Broadband. Following a 2nd notification, this time of OVERUSE of BB I became concerned and followed the advice in one of the emails to set up an account to use BB Monitor.
Unfortunately the BB Monitor did not show on my account. So on 9th Aug, after advisor 'chat' I was called back by a very helpful lady who advised I had two accounts - broadband being under old BT Yahoo. The solution would be to merge my old Yahoo account (which apparently has no account number) with my phone account (which has). Not only that but the lady kindly offered to reduce my monthly Broadband bill AND give me six months initial free broadband once the accounts had been merged. This would all be done within 48 hours and I would be contacted by the 'Offline?' team - WOW what a deal I was very pleased.
However other than an automated message to say I had set up paper free billing I heard nothing. So on the 15th I spoke to another advisor who confirmed that the above conversation had taken place. Got cut off after 7/8 minute wait for him to transfer me to another dept (Offline?).
Tried the chat again. Transferred. Had to leave as I had been on phone and chat 45 Mins as I expalined I would have to.  Asked for a call back.
    Nothing.
Tried chat again on my return and went through it all again. From the transcript:
Oindiria Mitra 'I will raise your case now and it will be done on a priority basis within the next 24 hours for you.'
    Nothing happened within 24 hours.
16th - I called again and used the callback facility. I was phoned almost immediately back by I** J***** who could see there were problems, but said he would OWN THE PROBLEM, gave me his name for assurance, and that if I left it until Monday hopefully the problem would resolve (fault on line or something was stopping the merge) but he would call me back at 10.00 AM on Monday and action it himself.
No call back received at the agreed time.
20th - Called again 11.25 am. Many apologies given and I was assured that Chester would get this actioned WITHIN 5 WORKING DAYS.
The final straw - I explained this was totally unacceptable and he said it would be escalated and he would explain I needed a call back ASAP.
As of now I wait and feel totally at the mercy of of BT's customer service team. I don't know where I stand with regards to BB usage or when this changes are going to be made. No one seems to actually do anything.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Now then. Everything went pretty well with Donna as my contact who called me when she said she would and got things done. I was however expecting a final call from her but it never came.
As I had a couple of further queries I emailed her on the address I understood would get to her but I was called (admittedly quickly) by someone who certainly did not appear to be part of the UK based team and who immediately wanted to transfer me to Yahoo or someone and could not seem to understand that Donna was my contact. I felt I was getting a run-around again and said as much.
Do I need to contact the team again or is this thread monitored by my contact at the UK team? The problem now is an intermittently very noisy phone line with the internet connection often dropping when the phone is used at these times. Changed filter to no avail and some days the problem goes away. Have had this problem before over the years with BT but it seems far worse since my account was merged. I don't know if it's a coincidence or what - hence my need to talk to someone about it.

In this thread, comment 10 gives instructions for using an application specific password instear of the regular google password that seahorse is storing.  I did this, logged in, and everything started working, with no errors.  Hopefully this will help someone else looking for an answer.

However I found a way to fix, thanks @Ionut showing a path
In my GOA_ entry I edited 'password' field
So I removed my generic google password and inserted google application
password, I got in my 2-factor authentication page. So it's working fine now,
but it should be fixed I think ti work out of box

    > Use Seahorse to look at your keyring and try to locate the entry associated

    >
    > You will see that it has a dictionary. Locate the key called "password".
    > Replace the value associated with that key with your application specific
    > password.
Yes. Check the show password, you'll see a long GOA_ string. At the end you'll
see your google password. If you enable 2-factor auth and reproduces a bug, you
should make an application password in google account and replace your google
password in seahorse with it. Logoff and login again after solves the
    "expiration" problem

  • Trying to find broadband account details...

    Hi there
I'm trying to help my parents with their BB. They have an online account that has their telephone info in it, but not their BB, which is also BT.
I have tried all passwords, usernames etc, as assume it must be in a different account somewhere, but no joy.
Is there a way I can find the details? Can it be traced by inputting their phone number somewhere? Help

  • Verizon Business Usage of Broadband Account

I'm just curious if anyone else has found this to be true:
I utilize Verizon's broadband wireless for my business.  I live in a rural area and the 5GB monthly limit broadband is a better option than satellite, which can be intermittent.  Recently I started seeing unusualy high 'recieve' rates to my account - which I haven't seen before for the last year that I've had the account.  Today I tracked it using my resource monitor, and found that the following IP was sending me info at a rate of about 40+ MB every 10 minutes:  63.116.246.27.
Oddly, the IP tracks back to Verizon Business.  If they keep this up, within the 8 hour work day I'd usually stay connected to my broadband, I'll - well, Verizon will - use almost half of my monthly allowance for data transfer!  Has anyone else seen this?  I find it pretty unacceptable that my provider is using my data usage for themselves - and using it at this horrifying rate!  Anyone know what this is and why it's happening?  Thanks!

Is your broadband device downloading some type of update?
A firmware or software update might be several hundred megabytes, and happen in the background.
I'd poke around the software and see if you can find anything about an update being applied.

  • Cancelling Broadband Account Then Adding to Phone ...

    Hi,
    Situation:
My Father has a BT account for just phone. I have a BT account for just Broadband. We decided we would rather have just one account to both make savings due to the package deals and to add bt sport for free.
We both live at the same address. I tried going through the process of having the accounts merged but as the accounts are for different people this was unsuccessful.
It was suggested I cancel my broadband then my father then adds it to his account. I understand there will be a small charge for cancelling my broadband, I'm fine with this.
    Question:
If I was to action the above will there be a period of time in the process that I may be without broadband, due to cancelling and then signing up again. I only ask as I work from home frequently and utilize the broadband for this. It would therefore require some planning.
    Regards,
    Craig

I would suggest for now  then that your Father has a phone + BB account, you establish a sub account with your email address on that account whilst at that address.
If/when you move; set up your own phone + BB account, but just before you do, delete your sub-account from your Fathers account  and then use your sub account ID details as your Primary user ID on your own phone + BB account to save loss of email address.
The two a/c's will then be established with you and your Father as the Primary account holder without [your] loss of email address.
    AQ.

  • Cant create extra email mailbox in home broadband account

I cannot create extra mailboxes. In MyAccount it says "Want to add or close a mailbox? To open a new mailbox or close an existing mailbox, log in to My BigPond. You'll be able to do this in My Account soon. If you closed a mailbox in the last 6 months, you'll be able to reactivate it by logging into webmail using the username and password of that email account. If you closed it more than 6 months ago, you won't be able to reactivate the account. Instead, create a new mailbox." But when I go to MyBigpond there is no icon for creating extra email mailboxes. Any idea how I can do it?

  • Merging Broadband and Phone Accounts

New to the Forum. I hope someone can advise.
I have old BT Yahoo Broadband and am currently paying around £26.00 per month for the privilege. I spoke to BT about getting a better deal early last year and was placed on a less expensive contract, but when I checked my bill in August, I found the charge had reverted to the higher amount again.
On 19 August, I phoned BT and asked to be placed on their £16 per month unlimited Broadband package. I was told that this would take between 9 and 14 working days. In order for this to be done however, I first must have my Broadband account merged with the account the phone line I use for Broadband is on, as they are separate (‘unaligned’).
Yesterday, 17 working days later, I phoned and spoke to a helpful lady who, after speaking to her manager, contacted the appropriate department and arranged for the merger to be done (although I don’t know why this could not have been done sooner). She advised me this could take up to 24 hours. The she would get me put on to the new package.
24 hours later this merger had still not taken place, so I phoned BT and spoke to another adviser who confirmed that the merger request was still open, but that I would (obviously) have to wait a little longer.  She said that as these account mergers were handled ‘offline’, there was nothing she could do to escalate it for me. She has promised to phone me back on Sunday (but if it’s out of her hands, I don’t know what she will be able to do if the merger hasn’t taken place).
Browsing the Internet (including this forum), I’ve been reading horror stories of people waiting weeks to have accounts merged – over 3 months in one case! So I haven’t really much to complain about yet, although nearly 4 weeks have now elapsed since my initial request on 19 August. I’m not looking forward to the possibility of receiving a quarterly Broadband bill for £78.00 in November.
I know BT are very busy and maybe I’m jumping the gun a bit here, but if anyone has any advice as to what approach to take if the usual methods of  phoning and emailing BT do not achieve results, it would be much appreciated.

    Hi Paulus47,
Thanks for the post and welcome to the forum.  I am so sorry about the delay in sorting this out and for the lack of info you have been given.  I understand what has to happen and will be happy to chase this action up.
It is true that your account has to be merged and this can take a bit of time but shouldn't be as long as you have already waited.  I will need to chase this up with the relevant team to get some action taken.

  • Merging broadband and phone accounts in different ...

Hi, I hope someone can advise on whether it's possible to merge a BT broadband and phone account under two different names.
The broadband account is in my name, but the old phone account is in my mother's name. I would like to merge the two under my name, so that I can get a cheaper combined package.
Several years ago I phoned BT to ask about this, but was told that this would lead to us being disconnected, so I left the two accounts as they are. However, it's becoming increasingly uneconomical to have separate accounts. I hope someone can help.
    Thanks in advance.

I don`t think that is possible. The only way I can see, would be to add broadband to your mother`s account, then cancel your own broadband, provided you are out of contract.
You would still have to pay a £30 disconnection fee.
