[SOLVED] pacman is unable to remove openbox

I installed openbox yesterday to try it out and now when I try to remove it by writing
sudo pacman -Rns openbox
I get the following error,
error: target not found
I've tried updating my mirrorlist with reflector, also tried pacman -Syyu but I keep getting the same error again and again. Where did I go wrong?

What is the output of:

It looks like it's already gone to me...
It says,

But, I didn't remove openbox myself. I had also installed fluxbox with openbox and I only removed fluxbox. I also removed a .fluxbox directory from ~/

  • [SOLVED] Pacman is unable to look up keys?

    Hi there,
I'm using Arch Linux for a while, and I'm using pacman 4.0 as well as key signing. It works without any problems, and I run system upgrades every 3 days or so.
Today i just want to initiate the upgrade with "pacman -Syu" as usual, but pacman refuses it because it is unable to check the keys. Since it did work perfectly before, I - of course - did pacman key initialization and configured the pacman.conf properly.

Cleaning the cache with pacman -Sc will leave the most recent downloaded version there, so delete the package manually from the cache and run pacman -Syu again.

I'm no expert but i wouldn't uninstall libgnome...
What is the specific app you want to uninstall?
If you want to uninstall an application you just have to type:
    pacman -Rcs package_name
And let pacman do the rest.
You can specify the dependencies in the command for more specific reasons...
    You can also do this:
    pacman -Qdt
to see the packages that are installed, but they are no requiered by other installed packages.
That cleans the system a bit.
    Good Luck!

  • [Solved] Pacman unable to look up keys remotely

My [testing] install has been running pacman 4 ever since Allan put a provisional package up for testing (outside the [testing] repo). The key verification worked okay.
However, I am not able to upgrade any more packages it seems, due to pacman being unable to look up the keys online. I don't know if the gnupg 2 move has anything to do with it. I already tried changing the key server in /etc/pacman.d/gnupg/gpg.conf from the default one to the MIT one (which seems to be a lot more responsive). That doesn't help any.
This is what pacman spits out:
error: libnfs: key "DB323392796CA067" is unknown
error: key "DB323392796CA067" could not be looked up remotely
error: afpfs-ng: key "DB323392796CA067" is unknown
error: key "DB323392796CA067" could not be looked up remotely
error: libshairport: key "DB323392796CA067" is unknown
error: key "DB323392796CA067" could not be looked up remotely
error: xbmc: key "DB323392796CA067" is unknown
error: key "DB323392796CA067" could not be looked up remotely
error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package (PGP signature))
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
Curiously, all those packages are xbmc 11.0 and its new dependencies. It's just one key. I ran pacman-key -u and it says there is no need for updating (I may be misled about the purpose of the -u option though ).
    Any pointers?

    Thanks.
Too bad there was nothing about that on the general dev ML, or I must have overlooked it. I have followed the discussion about dropping the gnupg 1.4 branch, but no mention whatsoever of this breakage that the patch mentioned in the dev ML will fix.

In System Prefereneces, when I am in Desktop and Screen Saver, I am unable to remove folders. I can click the "-" and the folder appears to be gone, but when I close and then reopen System Preferences, and open Desktop and Screen Saver, the folder reappears in the list. I have tried deleting preferences "plist" but I am totally unable to remove the folders.

I've seen one other report like yours, and I think the issue is caused by a bug, but I don't know what triggers it.
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Unable to remove sim

While inserting the sim into iphone 5s, I removed the tray and inserted the sim in the space for the tray. Now I'm unable to remove the sim. Can my problem be solved.?

Which problem are you asking about: Removing the SIM tray, Unlocking the phone, or the camera light?
You remove the SIM tray by pushing a paperclip into the hole in the tray. Push hard and it will slide out.
And for Unlocking the phone, do you mean the passcode lock on the screen, the Restrictions passcode lock, the iCloud/Find my iPhone Activation Lock, or the backup passcode lock in iTunes on your computer?
For the camera light swipe up from BELOW the screen to reveal the Control Panel and turn of the light by tapping on the flashlight icon.

  • Pasword protected bios - unable to remove password

    I have bought a used Lenovo ThinkCentre S20 (model: 45G, type 4157)
The BIOS is passwordprotected and I'm unable to remove it. I called the Lenovo support in Finland and was told that replacing the motherboard with a new one is the only solution, can this really be true?
I'm able to enter the BIOS but saving tyhe changes is disabled. Some fields are view-only, some can be edited. For example the password fields and date/time can not be accessed at all. Fields like boot order can be edited, but since the save-function is disabled there'is no point in making changes.
The vendor Cruz Broker (sells a lot of used computers) does not have the BIOS password.
    The startup looks like this:

I've tried to reset bios according to this:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-72076
    1. disconnect the power cable from the back of the system
    2. press and hold the power button until you hear the capacitors drain
    3. open the access panel and move the CMOS jumper from pins 1+2 to pins 2+3
    4. plug in the power cable and boot system
    5. when the system beeps, turn the system off
    6. move the CMOS jumper from pins 2+3 back to 1+2, then repeat steps 1, 2, 3, and 4
    - No change
I removed the motherboard battery for 20hours and put it back.
    - No change
I downloaded the BIOS update from lenovo, updated the BIOS, everything seemed to work ok, but still:
    - No change
Posting to this forum is kind of the last desperate attempt to solve this but  seems I have to take the computer back to the vendor and get a refund. Unless someone has a solution to provide?

I double checked this with our BIOS team, and clearing CMOS should clear any existing BIOS passwords.  The steps you list seem a little off though, so I would try the following procedure...
    Disconnect AC power
Move clear CMOS jumper from pins 1+2 to pins 2+3
Plug in system power and power on until system beeps.  Then power off.
Reset the CMOS jumper to pins 1+2.
    Power on system normally.
If this doesn't work, then I suspect you might not be encountering a BIOS password.

when i check the material document and accounting document,it was showing that said amount in negative sign and transaction done by MI10 means posted differences with out reference to document.
it means the user may entered wrongly i think.

  • Unable to remove a host from VMM - Error (2606) Unable to perform the job because one or more of the selected objects are locked by another job.

I am unable to remove a host from my Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2. I receive the following error:
    Error (2606)
Unable to perform the job because one or more of the selected objects are locked by another job.
    Recommended Action
To find out which job is locking the object, in the Jobs view, group by Status, and find the running or canceling job for the object. When the job is complete, try again.
I have already tried running the following command in SQL Server Management Studio
    SELECT * FROM [VirtualManagerDB].[dbo].[tbl_VMM_Lock] where TaskID='Task_GUID'
    I received this error back:
    Msg 8169, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
Conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier.
I have also tried rebooting both the host and the Virtual Machine Manager Server.  After rebooting them both, I still receive the same error when trying to remove the host.
    Here are my server details
VMM Server OS = Windows 2012 Standard
    VMM Version = 2012 R2 3.2.7510.0
    Host OS = Windows 2012 R2 Datacenter
    Host Agent Version = 3.2.75.10.0
SQL Server OS = Windows 2012 Datacenter
    SQL Version = 2012 SP 1 (11.0.3000.0)

    Hi there,
How many hosts are you managing with your VMM server?
The locking job might be the background host refresher job. Did you see any jobs in the jobs view, when the host removal job failed?
If there is no active jobs in the jobs view when this host removal job fails, can you please turn on the VMM tracing, retry the host removal, and paste back the traces for the failed job (search for exception and paste the whole stack)?
    Thanks!
