Some Direction needed for Movie Making

First Year user here using imovie 11 on MacBook Pro mid 2010 13" and ready to buy a AVCHD progressive scan camcorder with flash memory for greater quality vids. Considering Sony, Panasonic, Canon cams. I intend to burn to HD and Standard DVD for tv viewing and also use on PC/Mac computers. I want as much flexibility as possible to grow.
Since I'm relatively new to Mac and movie making I may seem lost at times... I am. I've been on the support pages for FCE and FCP and used the supported camera tables and found them lacking for various reasons. I've also come to realize that there are some drawbacks to imovie/FCE/FCP... I think? Here is what I think I know and whatever insight you can provide is welcome..
imovie and FCE do not support 1080p. If you want real 1080p you need to bump up to FCP. My system will not support FCP. So, I will need to look at 3rd party software that will run on mac and match same with whatever camcorder.
Any thoughts/comments are welcome.

I think this is a broad question, but in a nutshell, let me say that if you're concerned about whether iMovie, FCE and FCP can make 1920x1080 movies, the answer is YES for all three of them. iMovie does it a bit more automatically for consumers and so doesn't let you tweak settings much. FCE and FCP certainly let you tweak those settings a lot more (and in some cases MAKE you do that).
Now, if you're concerned about Progressive vs. Interlaced, that will depend more on where your footage comes from, but FCP and FCE can deal with either. For example, the Canon Vixia series AVCHD camcorders record in an interlaced stream, but can be set to a progressive record mode within that stream so that the progressive footage can be extrapolated from that later. It's complicated. The Sony cams in the same price range (and even well above that price range) ONLY shoot in interlaced, so progressive is not an option with Sony at the consumer level. Panasonic is similar here, but I will hold off comment because of those three brands, I know the least about the Pannys.
If you have more money and are willing to shoot with DSLRs, many of those typically shoot ONLY in progressive. The video is great, but I'm not sure if iMovie will work with this footage. FCE and FCP can.
In short, research your cameras as well as you can. Ask as many questions as you need to so you know what you're getting and what you can do with it.

GR Blocked valuatedstock menas , when you do the GR with movement type 107 it will posted under Plant and the value of the goods will be considerd/increased for that Plant. But the stock will be under Blocked Stock..It will not be used all other purpose till you do the transfer psting from Blocked to unresticted.

Some help needed for improrting and editing

Hi,
I need a litle help with two issues.
1) I was trying to edit a photo but when i click the edit button, I can see the photo at the top of the screen in the film strip but not in the edit screen and I have also noticed for this particular picture I cannot view it in full zoom. All I can see is an " ! " mark.
2) I deleted this picture and tried to import again but iphoto states that it cannot import because it already exists. I tried closed the program, deleting the cache.

It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss
iPhoto is a database and like any database it needs you to manipulate the data via the app itself, and not via a back door. So, that's why it thinks the pic is still there - because the entry in the database is still there.
The correct way to remove a pic is to move it to the iPhoto trash and empty the iPhoto trash. This will remove the pic from the database and the HD.
Now your database base is bunged up you have two choices: one is to return things precisely the way they were the other is to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
Assuming you renamed a file to make it easier to find:
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
To upload to MySpace or any site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser. Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves. If you're willing to risk database corruption, you can restore the older functionality simply by right clicking on the iPhoto Library and choosing 'Show Package Contents'. Then simply make an alias to the folders you require and put that alias on the desktop or where ever you want it. Be aware though, that this is a hack and not supported by Apple.

Help Needed for movie

I keep getting this error "QuickTime couldn’t parse it: -2048" when I try to add clips to the imovie. Basically what I`m doing is making movies in corel and trying to put it together in iMovie so it`s a single quick time file.
What am I doing wrong and why isn`t this working?

I think that when you plug the camera's USB cable to your Mac it will work but not as DV Streaming. Then you can then download the MPEG-2 files and use MPEG Streamclip can do a conversion of these files that iMovie and iDVD can handle. You will need QT Pro for this.

What format is needed for movies to add to library

I have a lot of movies ( backups of purchased dvds ) which i would like to store in my iTunes library on a NAS drive.
They are mainly avi and mp4. some import ok others don't and i am assuming it is to do with the format.
What format do i have to have these in for iTunes to be able to import them into the library??
Any suggestions for free or v.cheap converters?

Hi. I would like to thank you in advance for helping me. At the moment I am pretty much stuck. I don't know how to add the input using 'while loop'. This is what I'm suppose to do:
Write a program called ShoppingCalculator.java that allows the user to enter the prices of several items they have bought and then tells them the total amount. The user can enter the prices for as many items as they want, until they click Cancel. The program should then output the total amount they spent, in a message dialog box. Use pounds for all the amounts.

you click on one of the buttons it moves and rotates to the desired
location. And on mouse scroll it will zoom in or out.
Well the issue with this is flash can't go more than 2880 px
up.
My movieclip goes way above that.

you can go past 2880px with your base navigation movieclip.
you just can't load an or swf with width or heigth greater than
2880 and have it work correctly

i am trying to use the web cam to make a movie, but when i play back what i rerecorded no sound heard at all

And while installing it asks jre/java path and my jdk is intalled in this path C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.6.0_27/bin/
And i have typed the same path with java.exe at the last but it its says Insert a valid path.

the file i downloaded was over 900MB. So i want to know that it contained WLS also or the war file was so big as i have WLS installed. And the compressed archive had two folders named Disk 1 and Disk 2 and the Disk 1 had an exe file and when i run the file a command prompt like windows opens. At this point the path is asked.

Hello, I am from a Korean institution. We are looking into enrolling in iTunes U, but are aware that our country, South Korea, is yet enrolled in the iTunes U. Can our institution still enroll and if so, what is the procedure? Or do we have to wait for our country to be enrolled in iTunes U first? We're surprised South Korea isn't listed yet among the 26 countries so far, considering how it's one of the more developed countries and also highly advanced in the technology field. Thank you!

Sorry, but iTunes U is not available to institutions in South Korea at this time. It is only available to institutions in those countries on the list. Why Apple has not yet been able to provide that service in your country or when (or indeed if) they ever will is something none of us here can say.

My follow-up question:
So then, is if there's a general standard procedure country governments have to follow in order to have the iTunes U service provided (ex. a site/online application on Apple). So in other words, if the Korean government were interested in enrolling in iTunes U, what would they have to do/what channel(s) would they have to go through? We are a government-affiliated institution so if we're provided the necessary steps, we may be able to forward the procedure along to the right government body that would be responsible for setting this up.

As I said in your original post, iTunes U is not available to any institution, government or otherwise, in South Korea. If or when Apple will extend iTunes U to your country is something none of us here can say, and Apple will not until such time as they're ready to make an announcement. What Apple's criteria and requirements are for being able to open iTunes U in a given country is unknown; there is no "procedure" that any of us here can state or direct you to that you could initiate. It's totally up to Apple, and if they are working on this, I'm sure they know who in the SK government they would need to work with.
Sorry, but you will just have to wait and hope that something develops in the future.

Yes, you could, because in this case you would have something like a backup in the cloud. BTW, personally I also like Flickr. Flickr offers you 1 TB (1000 GB) of free storage and automatic upload for photos since iOS 7 (it is a very attractive offer, at least for me)

New to SAP, need some direction

Hi everyone, pretty much as the title states, I'm brand new to SAP and I need some direction as to what's the best way to start learning it.
To make my long story short, the company I work for was going to transition from a home-grown Sybase application to SAP Business One. 9 months and $150k later, they decide SAP sucks. Which upsets me because there's about 20 pages of SAP related stuff on all the job hunting sites and I'm always looking to "broaden my horizons" or something like that.
So now that no one using SAP... I want to start taking it apart and learning how it works. I just have no idea where to begin. I looked at the FAQs and all, but I don't think I'm even at that point yet.
So how can someone completely new to SAP get started?
