SOP to DM to MRP

Hello Gurus ,
Please can anyone of help me in understand the technical details i need to adopt to get the below process implemented. Tips and tricks would be really helpful.
1. We dont have any SAP BW and so how can i get the Sales Forecast based on the Previous Sales History(Sales Document with the Billing Documents ). Do we need to write a report or any report is available in standard SAP R/3 ..Any inputs on this would be really helpful.
2.  Once we get the Sales Forecast how can i transfer this data to the Demand Management through MC74 automatically . Because it shows only one material for that particular plant. How can i feed the total data of the sales forecast on a weekly basis to the MC74 transaction automatically?
Looking forward for the reply.
Thanks
Balaji

Hi Balaji,
So things are like this:
Without BW and APO, your demand planning tool remains erp-SOP.
In SOP you can use either standard SOP, where you can forecast based on consumption (from stock movements, not sales documents), or create your own planning environment using SOP-Flexible Planning functionality. There you can bring actual historical data from SD documents, and subsequently use that for forecasting.
Then, both forecasting and transfer to DM can be done EN MASS, using the mass processing functions (transactions MC8*).

Mario

    thanks in advance

1.Hi when you create a infostrucutre as mentioned above you will have 2 tables generated by the infostructure
Ex: you create a Infostructure called s999
    2. In such case 2 set of tables will be generated s999 and s999e
    3. You will have the values generated through the plannigtype in the tabels999
3.Using the s999 table you will be able to generate the report that are required.
4.When you have created your own info structure you can also use the standard Tcode MC9C - Reporting  to get few reports
Kindly let us know if you need more details

  • Plannning Material and Plant for MRP Run

    Hi,
If I have a material (01) extended on 2 plants, on one plant (A) we have production and planning/MRP + stock and on the other one (B), just stocking and transfer. B's requirements are to be entered and planned at A. I also want stock at B to be considered with stock at A when MRP runs at A. In the material master, I have some settings. I want to know if these would be any good:
    Material 01 on Plant A:
    MRP PD
    Strategy 40
    Lot size EX
    Coverage profile applied
    Material 01 on Plant B:
    MRP ND/PD tried both
    Strategy 40
    Lot size EX
    Coverage profile applied (same)
    Planning material: Material 01 itself
    Planning plant: Plant A
I particularly want to know about points 5 and 6. Will they make any difference if I run MRP on scope of planning(all plants) or just plant A? Will stock at B be considered? What difference does that setting make in my case? Please help!
    Thanks!

No sales on Plant A. Only transfers and STO's. Stock is STO'd to Plant B (and other Plants, as well)
    Plant B sells the stock.
Yes, I want to load the forecast in Plant A (COPA to SOP to DM to MRP). What do I do in this case?
I tried another case, as well. In that I put a special procurement on the material in Plant B view and marked it as external procurement. (the planning material and plant were there, didn't remove)
Then I entered the forecast in both plants separately (PIRs for both Plants) The requirements from Plant B made STPO Planned orders in Plant B and STCK Planned orders in Plant A. I am using coverage profiles (period is month, standard length 25 days, target 10 days for 1st period for 2 months, target 10 days for 2nd period  for 1 month, target 10 days for the rest of the horizon) Not using any consumption modes.
The results I am getting don't make sense to me. I have attached screen shots for both plants MD04 and the MRP + work scheduling views

  • MC74 : how transfer SOP to PIR for a specific mrp area

    Dear guru ,
i want to transfer Planning Data of a SOP Version for a single material to Demand Management.
The copy to Demand is run directly into the plant of the SOP Version.
    I manage MRP Area.
How can I transfer directly SOP to PIR for a specific mrp area ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi..
In  MC87 you have to first create  planning data.. SOP.
Then if you go to MC74 your planning data will be transferred..
Ii.e you will get the PIRs automatically from Demand management..
    Hope the above clarifies..

  • Reg:MRP,SFC,SOP

    1) suppose i have 4 seperate routings
how do i choose one among the four and link it to MRP
    2) what  is use of OrderType Dependant paramaters
    3) i want Process FLow in SOP scenario
    4)what is  Planning Strategy =40

    Raj,
    1.
With T-Code C223, you can create production versions for each routing. That will have different lot sizes and validity dates.
With respect to each production version routing will be selected.
    2.
Order type Dependent parameters controls the following things.
                                         a. Selection of PV: (0-Automatic, 1-Manual)
                                         b. Routing (Selection ID, Routing Selection, TL Type)
                                         c. BOM Application (PP01)
                                         d. Inspection Type
                                         e. Missing part List
                                         f. Documentation Goods movements
                                         g. Controlling data such as costing data and Result analysis Key.
    3.
Process flow for SOP ( Consolidated from different blogs and libraries)
       a. Maintain self defined information structure----MC21
Sales department in discussion with planning department prepares the sales plan for different product range or for
      different product groups.
       b. Create planning type----MC8A
Act as a template to maintain data for specific information structure. It is a customized view of planning table. You may  have one view for sales planner and another view for production planner. There is no restriction on number of planning type per info structure.
       c. Create planning hierarchy---MC61
It is a combination of characteristics value. It provides framework for planning in flexible planning.
       d. Create product group---MC84
A product group combines other product groups and materials according to whatever criteria best meet the needs of enterprise. Product groups are classified according to whether they are multi-level or single-level. A product group is multi-level if it contains other product groups. However, the lowest level in a product group hierarchy always consists of materials.
       e. Resources---CR01
Resource or work center is the standard essential master data in PP module.
       f. Rough-cut planning profile---MC35
It is a kind of resource leveling tool. One can have a visibility of target in terms of resource required to meet them. This gives the input to fine tune the target and optimize the use of resource.                                                                                Example: a product has to undergo processing in four machines. Machine three is a bottleneck operation. It is essential to check the capacity of this resource to the planned quantity. Then rough cut planning profile will be created to this resource and evaluated for capacity.
        g. Create plan in inactive version---MC81
Sales department in discussion with planning department prepares the sales plan for different product range or for
    different product groups.
       h. Disaggregate product group plan and check capacity---MC76
Planning is done at the product group level at highest level. Now it is required to disaggregate the plan to plan the down level product group and finally the material.
       i. Version management---MC78
"Presently the plan is available in inactive version. With this version, capacity situation is verified. If it is found
satisfactory, it may be transferred to A00 as a Active version.
        j. Transfer product group to planning---MC75
Transferring disaggregate sales plan in to planned independent requirements i.e. planning table.
    4.
Planning Strategy 40 (Planning with Final Assembly)
This is a Make to Stock strategy.
This strategy is preferable where quantities of the finished product can be predicted.
In this strategy, existing stock is considered and sales order will consume PIRs
Following fields need to be maintained in MRP 3 view along with use of 40 strategy .
    a. Consumption Mode
    b. Bwd Consumption Period
    c. Fwd Consumption Period

  • One pr for multiple materials with line items while running mrp

    Hi SAP gurus,
I am config the system for MRP as per my client requerement.
We use CBP for different RAW materialsfor example they having a 10 materials for planning, were,
             MRP type is VB,
LOT size is FX,with Different Reorder points and fix order quantity for all materials,
My client whant run MRP for all these materials in single time that means they whant multiple item at single levels,
i soles these requirement with the help of Product Group(sop) and its working but when we running md02 for product group all materials have planed and they give different purchase requistion numbers for all these materials but my client Wants single purchase requistion with line items for all these materials.
Pls give me the solution for that requirement.
    thanks and Regards,
    abhi

this is not the way SAPs MRP run works.
Where is the benefit for this?
the requisitions are not even split into header and item table, it is just one table EBAN, and either way you would get exact the same number of records in EBAN.

  • Rough cut planning in SOP for resource levelling

    Hello,
I am trying rough cut planning in SOP.
I have created rough cut planning profile for a product group by using MC35.
The task list exits for the product group.
In task list , work centre is maintained and the same is given while creating the rough cut profile.
This product group contains some part number.
    When I try Views--->capacity situation -> rough cut planning--->show.
    System gives error that -
    > No resource load found.
<u><b>Diagnosis given by system is as follows,</b></u>
This situation may be caused by one or more of the following:
    •     No PP task list (rough-cut planning profile, rate routing, or routing) corresponding to the Customizing selection criteria has been defined for this material/product group at this scheduling level.
    •     Resources planning has not been configured appropriately in Customizing.
    •     The information structure which you are planning has not been configured appropriately in Customizing.
    System Response
No capacity load could be determined.
    Procedure
    1. Check that a PP task list exists for this material/product group.
    2. Check that a lot size range has been maintained in the PP task list.
    3. Have your systems administrator check and, if necessary, change the resources planning settings in Customizing for Sales & Operations Planning (the steps "Scheduling levels" and "Routing selection").
    4. Have your systems administrator check that capacity planning has been defined for this information structure in Customizing.
Please let me know how to maintain the resource planning settings for scheduling level and routing selection.
    Waiting for your reply.
    Regards,
    Ravindra Deokule

    Hi Ravindra,
You can use t.code mc84 to create a product group.
Pl follow the following steps to do SOP with product group.
    1. Create a Product group in tcode MC84.
Enter a percentage for material say X & Y to be produced. X 40% & Y 60%. Total qty will be split in the ratio as per the %.
    2. Create Production Plan in tcode MC81.
    Enter the sales plan qty.
Then goto menu, edit & choose create Prodn Plan synchronus to sales.
    3. Create Rough cut Planning Profile in tcode MC35.
    4. Enter the Status ,Usage & lot size.
    5. Choose resources tab & then choose work center & enter work center name which you consider as a bottle neck & then enter the unit of measure as 'min'.
    6. Use MC82,
Choose inactive version and select your version.
    then goto menu->views> capacity situation>show
7.Check for over loads & adjust your qty acordingly.once the load becomes 100 % save.
    8. Change the inactive version to Active version in tcode MC78.
ie in the version enter the inactive version & in the target version enter'A00'
9.In mc82 choose active version, you can see that the plan is activated now.
10.In the menu choose extras & transfer to demand mgmnt.
11.You can see the requirement in the md62 transaction.
    12.Then run mrp.
Also regarding the unit of measure in t.code mc35,
If you select your resource as 'workcenter' & choose min or hour & then you enter 1(eg) in the first field against the work center. This means it takes 1 min or hour to produce 1pc(base quantity) in that particular workcenter(bottleneck workcenter)
Reg: Capacity calculation in mc87,follow the eg as above.Enter 1 min as time & base qty as 1 in mc35. Then check in mc87, you will get the load in %. ie if your work center is permitted to work for 8 hours/day & you pass a production plan of 480, then your load will match for 100%.

  • Sop forecast

    Hi,
I am creating sop from forecast. I am doing the following steps. Please tell me whether I am right or not.
In the first month I have maintained the historical consumption values for materials in MM02 under total consumption.
I created sop for the materials through forecast in MC87/ MC88 active version.
I am transfering these values to demand management in mass transfer job.
I am then running MRP for this.
Is this fine or am I missing out any steps?

  • Inactive version of SOP

    Dear Experts,
When i am trying to create plan, suspose system will prompt a small box and key in version number and description for inactive version. After that , only transfer to demand management as active version.
But , now system does not prompt a box and straight away use A00 and it is an active version.
Is there anyone face this problem and might to share what is the configuration i might miss out?
    Thank you.

    Hi Bodgan,
Please refer the Step. For SOP through LTP
    For SOP

  • Regarding SOP

I have a BPP for mass processing of the transfer of of SOP data to
Demand Management, but the process does not function (MC8E).

    Hi Narayan,
Mass processing will be used to transfer the SOP demand to demand management (operative planning... For this first you have to create demand for products or products group from MC87 or MC83 transactions.
You need to define transfer profile in custmizing.
Create job from MC8D and in varianat give the input of info structure (S076) and define the transfer profile.
schedule this in background. the SOP demand will be transferred to MRP as per the selection made in variant and in transfer profile.
If you have any question the let me know.
    regards

  • Tranfser from demand management to SOP

    Hello All,
is it possible to send  data from demand management (eg.MD61) to SOP - standard information structure S076 or flexible planning ?
The idea is to put values directly to MD61 and use them later in flexible planning
    thanks a lot
    KS

    Dear,
It is not possible. In sap, the planning cycle will be SOP -> Demand management -> MRP
SOPu2019 is a forecasting tool enabling you to set up sales, production, and other supply chain targets based on existing, future, or historical data. SOP is most suitable for planning finished goods. SOP plans are passed on to Demand Management in the form of independent requirements (MD61), which in turn is fed in to MRP (Material Requirements Planning).
    Hope it clear your doubt
    Regards / US

  • Uploading data in to standard SOP?????

    Hi Gurus,
we are using standard SOP for planning the forecast of all the FG materials using MC87.
The issue is we are entering each material data manually in MC87 and then checking the rough cut capacity.
Please guide me any solution to upload the forecast values of all FG materials into MC87 automatically.
    Your suggetions are most presious!!
    Thanks in advance.
    Naveen.

    Dear A.Naveen
    Please Follow this Steps
SOP- comes from SO76 standard information structure.
    1. MC87 - create Planning for material
of if you want by product group then use these steps
MC81 - Create Planning for product group
MC84 - Create for product group
    2. MC78- copy version (Enter your inactive Version and target version as A00 and copy and save.)
    3.MC88- change version
4.MC74 - Transfer Material to Demand Management
5.MD62 - Change the Planned Independent Requirements
    5.MD02- Run MRP
    6. MD04 - Stock/Requirements List
    7. CO01 - Create production Orders with Material
and you might know the rest of the cycle
Please follow the steps to set up forecast based planning:
    1. MM01: Create the forecsast view and asign a forecast model. Under the consumtion vals enter consumtion values (unplannes or total). In the MRP 1 view, assign the MRP Type "VV" (Forecast based planning)
    2. MP30: CREATE MATERIAL FORECAST
    3: MD02: MRP Run
4: MD04: Check the Req List
    with regards

  • Demand Management Through SOP

    Hello Everyone,
I have a scenario where I receive an 8 week rolling forecast from marketing. This is transferred to production. 2 weeks before actual production the plan is firmed.
I was hoping to implement this using SOP transfer to demand management. I was also planning to use an MRP type with a planning time fence. But am not exactly sure of the best practice to transfer Rough cut plann data to demand management. Do I directly transfer the Rough cut plan to a "requirements plan" version?
If not what would be the best possible solution to run SOP?
Also Please suggest as to any specific configuration settings to be maintained for SOP.
Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Aji Kurian Mani

    Hi
It depends on at which aggregation level you are receiving the Forecast.
if you are receiving at Plant -Material level. I would advice you to directly upload in to MD61.
SOP is required, if you need to do any forecasting in SAP.
or if you need to publish , analsyse the Historical and Forecasting Values at diffrent Org Levels(Plant, cutomer, Material,Sales org....etc)
using the planning tables you can maintain the Figures at one Level, which gets aggregated automatically.
    Regards
    Ratan

  • External Procurement with MRP based on sales demand w/o Production unit.

    Dear Friends,
Plant AAAA is a central warehouse (Distribution center),from where materials are dispatched to other storage locations.
AAAA is non manufacturing unit and is dealing only with FG's.
Sales demand will come from different storage locations, based on which external procurement of FG's will be started.
1.,how the sales demand can be turned into external procurement through MRP?.
2.Please provide the customization settings to achieve the same.
    Regards,
    Venkatesh

    Hi Venkat,
Try to use the functinality SOP, where you can maintain the demand in the system by T-code MD61 after getting all the sales demand from various locations,
When you run the MRP, this demand will be considered & accordingly procurement proposal will be generated by the MRP run.
Also you can go through below links sublinks for understanding about SOP,
    SOP basics
