Sound Blaster Audio

ok, I have this really old sound blaster audio pci and my problem is this:
when I plug-in my micro and speak with it I can hear myself in my speakers but when I try to record something the sound bar doesn't move, so the problem isn't my micro but probably the sound card...
I've already tryed to update the driver but i couldn't solve that.
any ideas?
TY

well goto the download section and install the drivers and software for it and use it(creative mixer).
But i think the software offers nothing more then the windows drivers (no eax surround i guess). be shure what type of card you've and work with it's latest software that you can find on this site.
tip: did you select in multimedia options the soundblaster card as default audio device? (and use thatone only, if no 2nd soundcard installed).
Sounds like a misconfiguration/missing software issue (usermalfunction)

  • Could not detect Sound Blaster Audio Card on xp sp2 Sys

I have Audigy Platinum and trying to install to a recently re-installed windows xp sp2 system. On my previous install everything was working fine and now I am looking to install the newest drivers and the error comes up [color="#ff3300">"could not detect Sound Blaster Audio Card on system". The strange thing is windows recognizes the card and will install it's drivers, but when I go to install the latest driver update I get the error. In addition, I also tried to run the install from my original disk.
I also?un-installed the devices showing? in the windows device manager, then tried and the same error, I even tried it in safe mode. Any ideas? Thanks and Advance,Mikel

Yes i think the real lesson here is not to buy creative,. i have the same problem with their junky card, so i guess ill just have to take buisness somewhere else. if you all do the same perhaps the threat of them going out of buisness will have them deal with their problems. if not atleast we saved others the headache of learning this lesson.

  • Blackmagic audio monitoring vs sound blaster audio monitoring?

    hi everyone
i have a question. is it better to monitor audio via my speakers plugged into the creative sfx soundblaster sound card (which is what i am doing at present)or is it better to monitor audio via my speakers plugged into the intensity pro (blackmagic video card) ??
or does it not really matter?
i use a pair of phillips pc speakers at present. the speakers are of quite high quality and were not cheap when i bought hem. around 150 euros.
what are the advantages/disadvatages of either method??
    cheers
    angus

Today the biggest reason to create a non-Blackmagic Design project is that any Blackmagic Design project drops a lot of frames in any project which makes it frustrating to edit. This did not happen as often in CS3, but in CS4 it happens even on native Blackmagic Design footage with no filters on it, all the time. Yes, they do have a setting that allows the user to continue the playback despite any dropped frames, but it has no function in the 3.1 and 3.1.2 drivers, at least not on Vista 64-bit. It did work in CS3 and Vista 64-bit.
The HDD's can sustain the data required, so its not a HDD issue. I dont know who to blame, Blackmagic Design drivers or the playback engine in CS4. Since older machines that played back HDV in CS3 without problems struggles with the very same footage in CS4 it seems that Adobe is the one to blame.
Besides that i have no other reason to use a non-Blackmagic Design Timeline.
AFAIK, you can edit 10-bit footage with the Intensity card. You cannot capture 10-bit footage though so its a catch22. Look at the Decklink series instead.

  • Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio -Game Probl

    Hello all,
I have just recently purchased a new PC in which I bought the sound card named above.
My problem is that when I play the game "Call of Duty 4" the sound card isn't recognized on it. But on "Call of Duty 2" and "Call of Duty " the Sound card is named in the Sound settings and it is much more of a improvement rather than just the Windows Default sound I have to use on Call of Duty 4.
Is there anyway I can fix this? If there is, please tell me how
    Thanks!?

I bought apart from the sound blaster audio, sold as "bulk" has the original driver cd

  • Sound Blaster ZXR Creative Audio Control panel

Hi. I bought a soundblaster ZXR. I uninstalled the driver for the old sound blaster X-Fi card, then shut off my computer and installed the ZXR card (which fits into a different slot than the X-Fi did), then restarted the computer and installed the software for the ZXR.
My situation is as follows: when I click on the Creative Audio Control panel, I get a message saying "The audio device supported by this application is not detected". I looked thru the internet and the general advice seems to be that the software for the older X-Fi card is not easily removed, and to remove it, I should uninstall the ZXR software, remove the ZXR card, re-install the old X-Fi card, then use some rather advanced techniques to make sure all of the software for the X-Fi card is uninstalled, then turn off the computer and take out the X-Fi card, then install the ZXR card, and re-install the software for the ZXR card. With some reluctance, I was about to do that, but then I noticed a folder called Sound Blaster Z Series was installed, so I opened it and clicked on Sound Blaster Z Series Control Panel, and a program opened up which allows me to make some changes to my sound set up.
My question is - When I click on the Creative Audio Control panel, am I supposed to get a message saying "The audio device supported by this application is not detected", because the Sound Blaster Z Series Control Panel is taking it's place? ...or does that error message tell me that there's something that I should address to avoid any future problems. I want to learn how to work with various sound programs, like sound forge, cakewalk, acid pro, kontakt, etc. and I want to start with a proper setup to help me avoid any unneeded frustrations. I have a fairly new computer with an ASUS P8H77 motherboard. Under Device Manager - Sound, Video and game controllers, I have the following entries:
    High Definition Audio Device
    Sound Blaster Audio Controller
    Sound Blaster ZxR
    Sound Blaster ZxR DBpro
I right clicked the High Definition Audio Device, then disabled it, but that didn't help so I enabled it again.
    Thanks.

The Creative Audio Control Panel is a single entry leftover from your old X-FI. Uninstall just that. Then you can make a shortcut to the other you were speaking off and put that shortcut wherever you wish. I uninstalled an X-FI before and I had that control panel left over even after uninstalling what I thought was everything.

  • Solution who encounter 'Setup does not detect Sound Blaster .....' error msg during installat

For those who encounter 'Setup does not detect sound blaster audio in the system' error upon installing from the installation CD. You can try the steps below that work for me. It seems Windows have lock on to the sound card with an incorrect ID thus the installation CD are not able to correctly identify the card. Be sure to do a backup copy of the registry first incase something goes wrong since we are editing the registry.
. Go to Start-Run and type in 'regedit' to start the registry editor application.
    2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\P CI.
    3. You should see listing with 'VEN....'. Expand them by clicking on the + icon and then see if it's listed as unknown or Creative related stuff. Keep note of them.
    4. Right click on those 'VEN......' listing that you have noted earlier and select full permission. Ensure that full control are selected. Now delete all those listed as unknown or Creative related stuff.
    5. Exit registry editor and reboot. Try using the installation CD again.
    Hope it hel

I know the "!" next to Multimedia audio device isnt the problem because that was there before i reformated when the sound worked.
    Ive Downloaded both:

    and
    Li'veDrvPack_Patch
(Not 00% sure either of these drivers are the right thing for me sense when i type my model number into the driver search box it can't find it for some reason.)

Does anyone have any idea on how to get my sound card to work?
    Thanks in advance guys

You don't say what drivers your using.
2 threads to look at are http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=25677 for drivers, and http://forums.creative.com/creativel...scending&page= for something that might help. You have a SB0228 according to that prefix.
I think to loose that message, you may have to either edit the registry of use something like driver cleaner http://www.drivercleaner.net/

  • Sound blaster Audigy LS install probl

HI, I just bought a sound blaster Audigy LS, and after installing the card Windows finds the new hardware, but when I put in INSTALLATION CD I get "setup could not detect any sound blaster audio card on your system" I`ve disabled all onboard sound and old drivers, and tried ALL pci slots now as well. Im very sure the card is fitted correctly, the model no is: SB030. any advice would be very helpful. Thanks alot ` WILLEEEE `

    All,
In order to give any helpful suggestions to these kinds of problems we will need a couple of extra bits of information:
) Steps already taken to resolve problem
    2) System Specs including processor and chipset
    3) Model Number of the sound card
    4) Operating system and service pack
Willeeee provided most of this, however he has also done all of the steps I would suggest without knowing #2 and #4. In all of these cases it is worth trying to install the latest drivers from our website. I know that the original Audigy can be installed using only the drivers found on the webpage and I would suggest trying that first. Also make sure that you have tried different PCI slots in your system.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy Fx control panel app won't run

Just installed a new Audigy Fx PCI card into my Windows 7 (64 bit) system and I have sound however I can't run the control panel app from Sound Blaster. When I run it the system becomes extremely slow and unresponsive, even the mouse is hard to move and the app never opens an interface, I have to kill it with task manager. I have uninstalled all other audio interfaces that I can find, and disabled a few ones, and disbaled in BIOS the on board audio.
In Device Manager I see the following audio devices
    Sound Blaster Audigy Fx
    Sound Blaster Audio Controller
ATI High Definition Audio Device (X) - I disabled this, I believe this is part of my display card
Why are there 2 sound blaster drivers ? If I disable one both are removed from the list.
Does anybody have any ideas on what to try next ?
    thanks,

Same problem here too, open the control panel, windows 7 32 bit and I have the ALPHA headset. Opened the control panel with all the "nifty features" and bam, freezes every time. I'd rather not be told to go seek support by writing out a nice application since the problem is obviously affecting many of us, more to the matter, I'd like to know if there is any fix or workaround at the moment? If not, I'd like to know if there's going to be a software update for it perhaps?
I'm pretty sure we'd all like answers soon please. Once again, do not direct me to the support tab, it's obviously been submitted a few times now and still nothing has been said about it, we need solid information and it is the one thing wrong with this headset.
    Thanks.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy installed - How do I play Auxillary inp

I connected my li've dri've with my Sound Blaster Audigy (). After doing this, I installed the drivers from the website below. However, I only installed the program "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver 02.08.0004."
That program doesn't come with anything (as far as I can tell) that will let me listen to the audio coming in through the auxillary plug on the Li've Dri've. Does anyone know what I need to install so I can listen to stuff through my li've dri've?

Problem is, when I open windows "Play Control" I do have an auxilliary option, but sound still does not play out of the auxillary option.
I tried again to use "Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe", but it again gave me the message "Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio card on your system. Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program. Setup will now exit."
Please someone help me I'm trying to get my new Sirius to play through my auxillary and I just can't seem to get this to work. I have the IDE cable connected from the Li've Dri've to the card and the black cord connected from the card to the driver and, with this same setup, the card worked fine on a different computer. Is there some software I need to download for the card? The only thing that came with the driver package was the driver and "Creative Audio Console" and I have no other Creative programs whatsoever.
Thank you for all your help. I'm sorry to be such a newbie, but I really want to make this work.
Why are you trying to install the Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG), if you got an Audigy series card?
I think the Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG) is intented for SB Li've! cards and not for Audigy.
If you have an "OEM"/"Var pack" version of the card then you perhaps need to patch the installation using ctcomp.exe
(you'll find the link and instructions by searching the file from this forum).

  • DVD-Audio and "can not detect sound blaster card" with Audigy2 Va

I recently purchased an "Audigy2 Value" card from an eBay user, because I recently purchased some DVD-Audio discs. I downloaded the Audigy2 drivers from the website, and the Creative MediaSource player. 5. Surround sound worked fine for me, though sometimes the driver would reset to the default 2/2. sound and I would have to re-select 5. sound, which was annoying.
Then I was completely unable to get the MediaSource player to recognise my DVD-Audio discs, and the EAX functionality of the player would never work. The EAX logo never appeared in the player. When I tried installing the MediaSource player from an install disc, I got the message "can not detect sound blaster card". Then I discovered the world of EEPROM problems.
I followed advice from some other threads, including using ScanPCI to get information on the card, which yielded the following result.
When installed on my machine (Asus A7A266 motherboard) the ScanPCI reads:

(Just a note: above you can clearly see that it does not say I have an Audigy, it thinks it is a SBLi've. Is this normal? The card IS an Audigy 2, it says so on the card.)
So, I put the card back on my own PC, thinking this has fixed my EEPROM, but I get the same as before. Subsystem ID 0002h. And of course the install software will not detect the card.
I realise that I could go back to using the web drivers, but this still leaves me with MediaSource not recognising the card and not enabling DVD-Audio or EAX, which is why I bought the card in the first place!
I have heard that the VIA chipset is possibly to blame for the EEPROM problems on the Audigy cards, and certainly it seems like it is not permanent, since it gave different information on the other PC. So now I am seriously considering getting a new motherboard.
Do other motherboards cause this same problem? I don't want to buy another board and get the same trouble. All I want is to be able to install my MediaSource and have it recognise my card so I can listen to my DVD-Audio discs.
    Cheers,
    Russ.

Figured out my problem. Installing the drivers from the web to begin with was a bad idea. They just did not work properly with the card.
The "card not found" problem has gone as well, after installing it in another PC. I am also using the proper install disc now, as the other one I was using turned out to not be for the Audigy 2 value after all, but was an Audigy 2 install disc. That easily explains the "Card not found" error. The differing results from the ScanPCI program are still bizarre, though.
Thanks to all of the people on the forum who posted information in other threads to help me deal with this issue. For now I am sticking with the original drivers from the disc and I am not upgrading.

  • Recording audio from a digital source on sound blaster M

This is my setup: DVD player > optical cable > optical-in on Sound Blaster MP3+
I'm trying to record the STEREO (not 5. or DTS) audio off a DVD I have, but it won't record or playback anything on either the SPDIF input or Wave/MIDI/CD input when selected. Everything else works fine (analog, line-in, etc.). Another thing I noticed is that all of the inputs seem to be connected to my built-in regular laptop microphone. When I press record in any .wav recording program, I can hear my voice/other background noise.

The issue I see with iTalk and similar iPod apps is that the iPod has no line-level input, so you'd have to use one of the earbud/microphone combinations or an external microphone like this one which will be limited as to quality. There are some other options here. But if you want pro quality, and particularly want to tap straight off of a mixing console, a device like the Alesis is going to be necessary, though there may be something less expensive that I can't find.
If a microphone works for you, then iTalk might be fine. There's a freeware version of iTalk, iTalk Lite, you can try, to see if it will do the job. It doesn't have the advanced playback controls and has a limit of 2MB per recording, but it should allow you to test it out. Voxie is another possibility.
