Sound Levels Help Please

I recorded drums on two tracks with two mics. I set the Track audio to -6.4 so that the drums wouldn't peak. The drums came out sounding really good with no peaking. But now I'd like to know what's the highest I can turn up the Track and Master volume now that the drums have already been recorded at -6.4. I've tried turning everything up all the way and it still sounds very crisp and clean. I'm just not sure if it will distort if i turn up the tracks too high. So pretty much what I'm asking is, what's the highest sound I can use after I have already recorded at -6.4. Thanks guys. Brian

I set the Track audio to
The track fader does not affect the recording level, only playback.

As loud as you want without lighting the final "Clip Led"

How's it going guys, my band just recorded our first song and it came out semi decent, but I know for a fact the audio quality could come out better if I knew how to control GB better. The problem I was having while recording was not being able to correctly control my Peak Levels. I was using an Alesis 8 channel firewire mixer when recording. I recorded drums with 2 mics (all we had), guitars directly from the amp to mixer to mac, keyboard directly into mixer to mac, and vocals directly into mixer to mac. The guitar sounds ok, but as for the drums and vocals I couldn't get the sound to stop peaking out. It wouldn't peak out on the actual Mixer, but in GB the Peak levels were way overboard. I would turn them down, and the music would come out extremely low. Can someone please educate me on how we can record a good, clean, Loud, normal sounding song without hearing distortion on GB. Hi,
Just make sure you don't peg the overload meter on GB with your input level.
You can do a lot with the tracks once you have them in GB, as long as you don't have digital distortion on the recording.
Use a combination of EQ and compression to give the instruments more punch without overloading your levels.

The sound on my iPhone isn't working I don't understand why it was working fine an hour ago I haven't dropped it or anything simply just out it on silent... The music I was trying to listen to didn't want to make a sound when I turned it in , I put a pair of headphones in and and it worked as soon as I took it off it completely stopped the music was playing still I could see it in the top column that the play button was on ... Then I made a call an the same thing happened I turned it on speaker and then I could hear them... The sound is completely off even tho i looked at the seettings and put the volume on high noting is sounding on its own not even when i tap the buttons... I took it off the silent before I tried this stuff I don't understand please help !!!

make sure that your head phones are not attached to the phone then use the volume buttons on the side, if when using them you see a pic of headphones on the screen, then you have some lint in the headphone jack, use some compressed air and blow it out.
If you dont see that then try to reset the phone, hold down the home and power buttons for 20 seconds or untill you see the silver apple.
If you are still having a problem restore the phone and set up as new to see if that clears it up.

NO SOUND PROBLEM HELP PLEASE!

i have a lenovo g580 and it has been owrking fine since i got it (christmas) until a week ago.
I turned on my laptop in the morning and i message pops up saying that it cannot connect to the dolby advanced audio driver, reinstall it if the problem persists. but startup sounds and youtube sounds would play, nothing else. so i turn it on the next day to fix it and there is no sound AT ALL. so i hover over the sound icon and it says no audio output device is installed. so i try to fix it day after day. then yesterday i turn it on and reinstall some drivers and stuff and now it says no headphones or speakers are plugged in and under playback devices, my speakers dont show up.

Here,
Make sure to un-install the Audio driver first under Device Manager
   > Open device Manager
   > Go to sound, video and game controllers
   > Look for Realtek High Definition Audio or High Definition Audio
   > Right click on it and select uninstall put a check on Delete the driver software for this device
Check you Control Panel / Programs and feature / Uninstall a program list for any Realtek Audio and Dolby Advanced audio.
Uninstall both
If non then just proceed to the next step,
Download and install this first
Realtek Audio Driver
0lau07ww.exe
187MB
After installation go to
Your Drive "C:" under My Computer then go to
               /Drivers
               /Realtek Audio Driver
               /PCEE4
               /DolbyAdvancedAudio.msi
Install the DolbyAdvancedAudio.msi.
Then Restart your computer and Check your sound.

No Audio, External speakers popping sound. Help Please!

Apple iMac "Core i5" 2.5 21.5-Inch (Mid-2011)
OS X 10.6.8
Having trouble with the audio on my iMac. AppleCare is not an option. This system made a few stops between a non-tech literate PO and myself so I have no history for before the symptoms presented.
Problem Summary:
No sound from internal speakers at any time.
No standard audio from external speakers.
Constant high frequency popping sound from external speakers when hooked up.
External speakers known and tested good on another system.
Details:
Popping sound starts immediatly after startup.
No startup sound with either internal or external speakers.
Tried iTunes and YouTube video played on Safari without success.
In OS onscreen volume control looks and responds normally to volume adjust action.
Popping sound on external speakers volume does not change with in OS volume adjustment.
'Internal Speakers' NOT listed in SYS PREF> SOUND> Output Tab   ( 'Headphones' is listed ).
SLEEP MODE stops popping sound, popping sound restarts with computer but at slower frequency for a few seconds.
Actions tried:
Checked and cycled mute options in APPS> SYS PREF> SOUND & APPS> UTILITIES> AUDIO MIDI SETUP.
Quit process 'coreaudiod' in APPS> ACTIVITY MONITOR. * see note below
Checked that no light visible inside external audio jack.

Shutdown / Restart with ALL devices unplugged.

Have also done an Apple Hardware test. Both levels. Reports there are no problems.

JSlider or similar for controlling position in sound files help please.

You know how winamp, wm player , etc, and JMStudio all have a "slider" bar to control position, along with a "numeric readout" of the current position.
Fairly new to Java, but know this isn't a difficult thing to do, just haven't found out how to do it.
Do not care if it is with JavaSound API or JMF, either is fine, just learning.
Have read up on Sliders at:

But do not understand how to implement it with Audio file usage.

You have to use a JSlider and combine its events with the setMediaTime method of the player.

Sound issues Help please

Hi Guys I’m having audio issue and cant figure out where the problem lies? Audio interface which I’ve had under a year, I’m on a macbook 4gb of ram running mavricks
heres what happened the other day I had my monitors working in reason and everything else, i use soundflower to adjust my volume via my mac and not the soundcard so as always i had the output in reason as soundflower 2ch, which goes to my monitor, reason was lagging due to over usage on the cpu so i adjusted the buffer rate and sample rate all of a sudden i get no audio through soundflower therefore no audio through monitors, so I re-install soundflower and nothing happens... I try and play audio in Itunes directly through my audio interface and i get very very very glitchy stuttering audio, so I assumed the problem was my AI but today i got my carer to play with the wires i plug it in and first try audio in itunes going directly to my AI and it works!!! I then try going through soundflower (to give me volume control) and tahdah!!! it works, so i go into reason play audio through my built in output to check audios working and it is, i go to preferences in reason and select soundflower 2ch and press play... no audio!!! I go back to Itunes and get nothing through soundflower i select just my AI and i get the same glitched up audio as before what on earth is happening

Try reset the SMC:
1. shut down the MAC
2. Plug in the MacSafe adapter (i.e.power cord/charger)
3. PRESS AND HOLD SHIFT+CONTROL+OPTION+POWER buttons at the same time
4. Release all keys and buttons simultaneously
5. press the power button to turn on your mac as usual

I have tried several different power connections. Now I have connected a cable directly from the power supply unit.
Another problem that I have is that different games freezes my system after a while. I have tried World of warcraft and Guild wars and they both freeze after 5 to 60 minutes.
I had Audigy ZS 2 before without any problems at all and did a clean install with the new card.
The card is at IRQ 20.
I have a ATI Radeon X800 to. Is that the problem ?
Any suggestions ?

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Sound not working. please help!

hello, I just got this new iMac that i got used and the sound on the computer does not seem to be working, I have tried doing what the computer tells me and going into System Prefrences and selecting the sound option, but the sound seems to have been permanantly disabled and shows that there are no output or input devices available, when clearly the monitor has speakers. whats more, is that the volume icon does not show up in the menu bar even when I select that I want it in the menu bar. I would greatly appreciate if someone would get back to me on this as soon as possible and tell me what the **** is going on because I dont know what to do and I want my sound. So Please Help!

Do you hear the startup "bong" sound when powering up the iMac? If you do, that means the speakers work and there is probably something messed up in software or settings.
First, try resetting PRAM. This is the procedure.

Sound volume setting is one of the things stored in PRAM. If you hear the startup sound after holding down those four keys at startup, then your speakers are probably working now.

If you already have a license for photoshop cs6, why do you want photoshop cs2?
You can just install photoshop cs6 on your new computer provided both operating systems are the same kind (both mac or both windows)
If you don't have an install dvd for cs6, you can download photoshop cs6 from here and use your serial:

I have an iPhone 4s. I Powered it offhand when I opened it again all the sounds like the keyboard sounds and the sound u here when u unlock the phone. Even the music in games are not working. However, when I listen to music or watch videos on YouTube there are no problems. Any help please??

Just bought it a couple of days ago, and its doing this!!! why doed the videos now both on my ipod and itunes not have sound?

Your source video file is probably muxed.
Neither QT Pro or iTunes has the ability to successfully encode a muxed video file with audio. You'll end up with video and no audio.
You'll need to use some other third-party software to do the conversion. There's a handful of software available. Just search the forums and you'll find many titles mentioned.
Try MPEG Streamclip.
