Sound Levels. Please Help.

How's it going guys, my band just recorded our first song and it came out semi decent, but I know for a fact the audio quality could come out better if I knew how to control GB better. The problem I was having while recording was not being able to correctly control my Peak Levels. I was using an Alesis 8 channel firewire mixer when recording. I recorded drums with 2 mics (all we had), guitars directly from the amp to mixer to mac, keyboard directly into mixer to mac, and vocals directly into mixer to mac. The guitar sounds ok, but as for the drums and vocals I couldn't get the sound to stop peaking out. It wouldn't peak out on the actual Mixer, but in GB the Peak levels were way overboard. I would turn them down, and the music would come out extremely low. Can someone please educate me on how we can record a good, clean, Loud, normal sounding song without hearing distortion on GB. Hi,
Just make sure you don't peg the overload meter on GB with your input level.
You can do a lot with the tracks once you have them in GB, as long as you don't have digital distortion on the recording.
Use a combination of EQ and compression to give the instruments more punch without overloading your levels.

NO Sound; experts please help

I currently have no sound on my HP Spectre XT Ultrabook PC!!! Upon buying the laptop it had Beats audio on the laptop. That stopped working recently, but I still had the normal reduced audio, until that stopped completely soon after. I have tried multiple things to fix this problem, all without success; I tried troubleshooting the problem, I tried updating the audio driver (it said I already had the most current version), I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, I tried updating the BIOS on my computer and NONE of these have worked; I still have no sound! Please help to fix this problem!
The product number is B6V42PA#ABG and it currently has Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it!

Please try doing a system restore to the date where unit was working fine. In case this does not work last option is to run a recovery please back up your data. This does not work please call HP technical support & get the Speaker replaced.

Front panel sound.. please help

My motherboard is MSI 915G Combo. It has CMEDIA AZALIA sound chip which supports multistreaming functionality. The sound output can be taken from frontpanel as well as backpanel audio connectors. But the frontpanel connectors are provided as pins in this motherboard. I got a Mercury KM08 ATX cabinet which has frontpanel ports. But how can I connect the pins?? The cabinet have wires to connect the pins to frontpanel.
There are 7 wires for front panel connectors in cabinet which are
1) Line out FR
2) Line out RR
3) Line out FL
4) Line out RL
5) MIC IN(R)
6) GND
7) MIC Power (L)
In my mobos manual the front pannel connection design is given as,
Pin1 - PORT 1L - Analog port 1-left channel
Pin2 - GND - Ground
Pin3 - PORT 1R - Analog port 1- Right channel
Pin4 - PRESENCE# - Active low signal
Pin5 - PORT 2R - Analog Port 2-Right Channel
Pin6 - SENSE1_RETIRN - jack detection return from front pannel jack1
Pin7 - SENSE_SEND - jack detection sense line
Pin8 - KEY - connector key
Pin9 - PORT 2L - Analog Port2-left channel
Pin10 - SENSE2_RETIRN - jack detection return from front pannel jack2
Please help me to connect the pins to the frontpanel connectors of the cabinet!!!!
also whats are jack sensing pins?? what are they used for??

Jack Sensing is a feature that allows the codec to choose what kind of device (mic, speaker or line-in) you're plugging into the jack by sensing its impedance. It's of no use here for your front panel chassis.
What I would try is to match the PORT 1L/1R with your Line Out FL/FR, and PORT 2L/2R with LineOut RL/RR. There is no MIC connection I guess from the pin names.

Applying Same EQ Ajustiment to Another Sound Clip -- Please Help

I have been working with the Gain and Channel EQ's on a sound clip to raise audio levels and adjust sound levels, etc. How can I apply the same adjustment I created on a clip to a different audio clip (that follows immediately after for the same sound, etc.) I know there is a simple way to do this...but I don't know how.
Please let me know.

If the different clip is in the same environment and same type of sound as the first, you could just create a preset with your settings and apply it, or if you're in a multi-track project, group these clips together on one track and put the EQ on the entire track.
If the different clip is not in the same environment and you are trying to get them to match, you could try EQ matching in the processing menu. Take a snapshot of your EQ curve, apply to the 2nd clip. Haven't tried it myself, but give it a go.

Sound problem, please help

Hello, An year or 2 ago, I bought this HP computer, a DX7200 Slim Tower. Due to it's poor performance, I decided to buy another GPU, an Asus R7240. I installed it, and then noticed the sound was not working anymore. To my understanding, it was because the sound card was no longer detected. Fastforward half an year. I just decided to play my games without sound. I then moved a considerable distance and had my computer shipped over in a truck. While in truck, my computer was probably shaken a bit and the graphics card was no longer properly "plugged" in the slot and thus didn't work. I started my computer without knowing this and then noticed that I could the sound was working. I also noticed a severe issue with my FPS on games so I figured that there must be a problem with the graphics card; I therefore opened my case, put the gpu back how it should be. And then I start my computer and notice that the sound is no longer working. tl;dr GPU= No soundNo GPU= sound I really want to fix this now, please help me! This is a screenie of what I see wen I click on "playback devices"

Iphone 4s with IOS 7, no sound. Please help.

Since updating to IOS 7 my speaker stopped working. Already tried the reset thing pressing the home and the turn off button, cleaning with soft brush, and now just restored it and still doesn't work. The only sound it makes is for ringtone, but not for itunes, youtube, skype... Pressing the volume buttons only shows an icon but not the scrolling thing for the volume also. The only thing left I think is a hardware issue, but how come the ringtone works? Please I need help, what's the point having an iphone with no sound?

Connected hp g56 notebook to toshiba regza tv but no sound..please help! : )

Hi, I'm trying to connect my g56 notebook to my tosiba regza tv.
I have managed to get the picture fine using a vga cable but with no sound. After a bit of research and asking questions i was told to get a jack to rca (red and white) cable , connect the jack to my headphone port on the laptop and the rca to the corresponding ports on the tv. Did this and there's still no sound coming out of the tv!
Do i need to download a special driver or something to make the sound come out of the tv or is it better to go buy an hdmi cable?
Any advice would really be appreciated!!

Hi,
A VGA output is only capable of carrying a video signal - I would strongly suggest what you mention yourself and get an HDMI cable to connect to your TV. There's no need to buy a top end cable, just a stanadard HDMI cable is fine - I've never found any difference in the output quality.

After a test, the method provided by Carey Frich is not working, we can enable the start up sound, as for the log on of log off sound, I am afraid, for now, there might not be a solution.

It seems that flash assumes that the Sound volume controls
all sounds in

Two week old DV6, Sound Stutters Please Help

Purchased a DV6 a few weeks ago and the sound stutters, anyone else having this problem?
Is there a fix or should I send it to HP?

Can you provide the specific model / product number, dv6 is a series and doesn't give us much information to work with.
Is the stuttering affected by what sound is being played (i.e. game sounds vs a CD or an MP3 file)? Is it just with external speakers or do you hear the same thing in headphones?

Imported songs in iTunes sound awful-please help!

I imported all of my music into my iTunes and put them on my iPod. A lot of the songs that i imported sound 'garbled and distorted on my iPod (20gb-color). My purchased music sounds perfect. I tried the following with no luck:
Converted my whole library to MP3.
Changed importing setting to highest quality.
Turned off cross fade and sound check boxes.
Any help is REALLY appreciated.

Depending on the format, some sounds can be converted with iTunes or QuickTime Pro - see this Apple document for more information. For other formats, you can use third party converters such as SoundConverter.

IPhone 4S sound problem please help?!

I have a 4s and updated to ios7 when it came out. Today my phone has no audio apart from ringtone. The volume bar for example is not available in you tube. The buttons when pressed to adjust sound do not show no volume increase or decrease. The speakers work as I can adjust ringtone in settings and can hear it loud and clear. Is this a bug from the update?
