Soundcard not detected while ATI HD 7750 is plugged in.

Hello!
I got a strange problem. In my Gigabyte P35-DS3(from year 2007) is, normally, plugged a geforce 8800gt and Creative Labs SB0400 Audigy2 Value sound card. In this configuration my pc performs for years without any problems. Now i bought a HD7750 and plugged it in instead of my 8800gt.
The first problem i run into, is then 7750 is connected, my diskrete sound card won't be recognize properly.
However the module snd_emu10k1is loaded, but not working. The built in HDA sound card is working.

Bios update is done, but problem remains.
Someone have any suggestion for me, how i can get the second sound card work along hd7750?

The 2600 is not supported on Tiger. There is a hack to get some type of drivers, but still not right.
What you needed was a 2007 Mac Pro 8-core 3GHz if possible, Apple Store Special had them from time to time.

This hits on one area where it is easy to hit wall and hard place, there is no real backward compatibility. New hardware equals OS it shipped with. The Nvidia 8800GT needs 10.5.5+ (10.5.2 minimum but terrible driver issues) and same for Radeon 3870 (the OEM card is your best bet but limited to 10.5.2).
Which is why people hang onto and you continue to see strong prices for Quad G5s probably.
Adobe stuck to Carbon too long. And now they have to catch up to where Snow 10.6 will land.
You still want to use the "Intel G5" it seems in your layout. Maybe Apple should have called it "G6" and painted the box black!
2008 Mac Pros only run Leopard properly, even though Leopard was so new it wasn't really ready and vendors like Adobe didn't have time yet (and some had to wait for bugs and 10.5.2 to even begin to port to Leopard, besides the ".0" version changed - a lot - from what they had last seen.
You really are between rock and hard place. People really hate and detest the old Radeon X1900 for its design, heat, noise, and how it clogs with dust regularly, but at "only" $399, and already 2-3 yrs old, worth a look.

If your problem doesn't solve after restarting your pc then on the select drive to install windows page press
Shift key + f10 then now Command promopt was opened then type "Diskpart" Now new window was open then type "List disk"

type "select disk 0" (0 is your disk number replace 0 with your disk number as shown in window)
now type "clean" Please note Clean command was format your hard disk completely with recovery drive Now type "convert to MBR"
now try to install windows again and see your problem was solved

2nd Monitor not detected on ATI HD 2700

Here is the short version of my story. The company bought a new Intel PowerMac Quad G5 2.5 base model, NO upgrades to replace a PowerPC G5 Dual 2.3. This was due to the fact that After Effect CS4 will only run on an Intel Mac. Not a big deal until the fact that our current Xsan is running 1.42 and that will not run on 10.5. So, I downgraded the OS to 10.4.11 on the Intel Mac, set up the network and fiber channel connections and everything looks to be running fine but only one monitor will come on. The Intel Mac came with a ATI Radeon HD 2700 with dual DVI. We have a 23" Apple Cinema & a 20" Apple LDC (with a Apple ADC > DVI converter) screens. Both are working but only one will be detected on boot up. Here is what I've done so far:
1: Switched the connections, but still only one will show up.
2: Only connected one monitor but tried port 1 and 2, both ports are in working order.
3: Moved the ATI card to the second x16 PCIe slot, same result
4: Replaced the ATI card with a Nvida GeForce 6600 PCIe (was in the PowerPC Mac), neither monitor would come on.
5: Placed both the ATI and Nvida cards in the computer (could hear them yelling at each other), only the the ATI would have a monitor come on.
6: Downloaded the 10.4.11 combo update and re-installed it, same result: one screen.
7: tried to put the kitchen sink in computer but could make it fit.
8: Triple checked my connections and power, all are fine.
So, any help would be great. I just don't know why this card will not detect the second monitor. I've looked in the System Preferences and checked the profile, the card is there and looks fine.

[SOLVED] ALSA and intel soundcard - not detected, /dev/snd is empty

Hi, there was some topics mounths ago about this but I still can't figure out how to get my sound to work.
The main problem is that my soundcard is not detected and /dev/snd seems a little empty. I can't find the controlc0,1 files either....

Looks pretty complete to me. (OK, /dev/snd does look sparse.) What do you see when you run alsamixer and press the F5 key?
$ sudo su -
# pacman -Sy alsa-utils
# alsamixer
Press F5 and check for:
* Master, Speaker, Front, Line, PCM volume down (if any)
* Any MM (bottom of vertical bar, signifies: line is muted) -- mute / un-mute with the 'm' key
Press Esc key to exit alsamixer + save changes.
Also, right after booting, run: dmesg | grep -i codec
Look for something like "Realtek" or "ALC662" or similar.
Manually add codec driver: modprobe snd_hda_codec_realtek

160gb SATA not detected while 80gb SATA is working fine

I have a MSI K8MM-V board with AMD 2800+, I am alredy using a 80gb SATA1 drive, I recently purchased a 160gb SATA1 (seagate) however, to my surprise the disk is not being detected in the BIOS and even when I suply the drivers during windows xp installation, the system is not able to detect any hard disk attached, can somebody please suggest me what to do now, is my board in-compatible with disks with such high capacity

Keyboard not detected while installing

Hi All,
I have a HP netserver lp1000r machine.
I want to install solaris 10 on it.
The keyboard works fine for installation of other linux distros like Ubuntu server etc.
It works fine while i am configuring the BIOS.
Some how the solaris installation program is not able to detect it.
the keyboard is a normal PS/2 keyboard and works fine on the same machine for other linux distros and BIOS too.
Can any one tell me how to solve this problem as I am really eager to get some solaris experience. I will be using this machine for DHCP, DNS caching, proxy and other purposes.

I have been scouring the internet on my limited dial-up connection trying to find someone who had a definitive solution to this problem which I too have been stuck with.
What finally resolved this keyboard problem during that critical stage in the win xp setup was by:
1. Going to System Preferences>Keyboard and Mouse and check-marking "USE ALL F1, F2 ETC. KEYS AS STANDARD FUNCTION KEYS (when this option is selected, press the Fn key to use the special features printed on each key)" Before starting up Boot Camp,
2. and Unplugging the Mighty Mouse from the keyboard while my mac was rebooting.
Switching out the apple keyboard for a standard USB keyboard did not work (perhaps in hindsight, i should have plugged it in first before boot camp rebooted and tried to install win xp;)
Attempting time after time again did not solve the issue;
Neither did doing all the software updates, firmware updates and such while borrowing an ethernet cable connection from my local library;
I did not need to find another Win XP with SP2 nor did I need to find a USB keyboard;
Not even updating my Mac OS X from 10.5.2 to 10.5.5 or installing the new firmwares for the Apple aluminium keyboard was necessary it seems.
Just a simple checkmark to make the apple keyboard's F-keys primary and unplugging the Mouse from the keyboard before the WinXP install kicked in, allowed me to press Enter to proceed with the installation.
I also turned off the special functions of the mighty mouse like the center click and roll ball, but I felt obligated to post the solution to this problem - Do as you would be done by.
Hope this helps others who encounter this same problem, please confirm if I am correct. Good luck.

i had the same issue . I put a break <userid> statement and transported to QAS. in QAS i used the <userid> to test it. then the spot started functioning. After that I commented the break point and transported again.

Second, I looked up your camera's specs to see if it was or was not VFW compliant. It doesn't say it's VFW compliant, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't. Then, I saw the list of ports...

MSI GT70 Secondary Drive/750gb not detected while SSD in Raid !!

Long story short , my system crashed randomly for the first time ever (I left the room came back and the system had crashed) , then I got the raid boot failure message for the first time ever !
It was a perfectly clean system practically unused system.
I got the laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium.. this just before the Win 8 systems came out..
I deleted Raid Volume and then created a Raid Volume..
Installed Windows 8 , all this while Bios set to Raid !
I noticed my 750Gb drive was no longer visible in Windows.. i installed all the drivers i could think of but still my secondary HDD wasn't being detected in device manager..
Intel Rapid Storage Technology detected 699GB in Storage System View , while device manager didnt..
When i set Bios to either ACHI or IDE , Bios then reads the 750GB drive in boot priority list but then Windows fails to boot from my SSD's set to Raid !
When I set bios to RAID it only reads SSD , not the 750GB drive..
So basically when I set my Bios to raid my secondary 750gb drive disappears from the boot priority list + from Windows !
When I set to achi/IDE my raid disappears.
I want to keep my raid and have my 750gb drive !
How i dont know...
If i disable raid , only a single SSD drive is detected that leaves me with half the space.. so i cant even make do without Raid because ill lose half that space..
Another thing worth noting is that my Bios boot screen/time has increased noticeably compared to how things were originally. feeling sluggish !

But to my luck , i had nearly been using the system for 2 days now..
Installed everything , played a few movies etc..
Then my system froze..
I had to force shut it down..
Now im getting the Raid boot failure status all over again..
So i went and reconnected the SSD's but the problems still the same..
I cant go delete my entire raid because what if this happens again..
I'm stuck in this non sense of a loop.. most disappointed , i spent so much money on this machine and i haven't once enjoyed it like i was supposed to..
Is it the raid card , is it the ssd , is it the raid software or is it something else.. :(
Why is my system doing this.. beyond disappointed all my efforts have gone to waste..

Battery is not detected while charging

My laptop battery doesn't hold a charge while the charger is plugged in. Also, the battery icon on the bottom right of the screen has a red x. When I hover over the icon, it says "No battery is detected".
I tried searching on the system's help features and Control Panel with no success. We use the AC adapter that was included with the computer.

I have a HP G61 Laptop and i am trying to use my recovery disks I have created when new to a factory reset. Unfortunately, the recovery manager is not letting me...is saying that my laptop is on battery power eventhough it is not, it is plug in. It wants me to plug my laptop before recovering from disk and i dont know what to do. I have checked in Bios for a setting on power or something like that and i have not find amything....any help would be appreciated

Hi, when i try to connect my phone with nokia suite and get a back up copy, i get a message "please change the usb mode on your device to suite mode", but my phone in the right mode at this time.

To fix the problem, try the following solutions:
disconnect the USB cable and connect it again.
If you use a USB hub, try connecting the phone directly to the computer.
If you use a USB hub with an external power source, make sure that it has been switched on.
Check the USB cable for problems and replace if necessary.
If your phone asks you for the connection mode that you want to use, make sure that you select Nokia Suite on your phone.
Disconnect the cable, restart the computer, and try again.
Keep in mind that if you remove USB devices without using the Safely Remove Hardware tool in the Windows taskbar, connection problems may appear.
Go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel (called Programs and Features in Microsoft Windows 7).
Select Nokia Suite in the list of applications and click Change/Remove.
In the dialog that appears, choose Repair Nokia Suite then check that all the needed files are intact and repair any errors that were found.
Control Panel > Programs > Programs & features > Nokia Connectivity cable driver, right click and Change/Repair
Try go Control Panel > View Devices > Remove your device profiles and reinstall them.

HT1386 iTunes will not detect my iPhone(5s) after the most recent update.

Ever since i updated iTunes it will not detect my iPhone, every time i plug it in it asks to trust the computer which I always use to sync my iPhone. Every time i select "trust this computer" and it still won't detect it. PLEASE HELP.

ISight not detected

My external iSight was working fine on may Mac Mini until yesterday. Now, iChat will not detect the camera. When I plug it in, the light lights up for 2-3 seconds, then the camera makes a noise sounding like it's focusing, and the light turns off. I tried resetting the PRAM and reconnecting the camera, to no avail. Does anyone have any clue as to what might be wrong?

Can you open System Profiler ?
It is in Applications/Utilities but can be opened by the Apple iCon menu > About this Mac and the More Info button
Use the Reveal triangles to open Hardware and then Firewire for the External iSight
Now select the iSight in the right hand pane.
What firmware does it say it is running ?
Have you tried the things list on the EZ Jim page posted above ?

TS1521 Garageband not detecting my microphone/usb audio interface

Hello all.
     This is what i have here: an old but barely used Tascam US-122L USB 2.0 Audio/MIDI Interface with a Tascam LD-74 phantom mic, which both of them work. The problem is garageband is not detecting them. My interface is plugged into the usb port is telling me my mic is picking up sound.
     But when i go to system preferences, then sound, input, it only has Internal microphone and Line in with the type being microphone port and audio line-in port respectively. The input volume for the Line in is in the middle but is showing no signs of sound being picked up.
     When i go to garageband, preferences, Audio/MIDI, it only gives me for microphone built-in mic and built-in input. Of course on the track info pane where you select mono 1 built-in input, mono 2 built-in input, Stereo 1/2 built-in input, there is no sign of my mic or interface. I've searched this question over and over and still can't find the answer. Help please.

I tried that once and the mac told me that they weren't recognized, couldn't be unzipped or whatever. But I just downloaded the most recent driver and it worked.
