Spark border backgroundColor
I am using a border to display a picture on the left side of the border object
and want the background color of the border to display white in the area where the picture is not displayed (right side - noScale).
The color will set when there is no image specified, but when you include a background image it always displays tranparent in the area where the photo is not displayed.
Is this a bug or am I going at this the wrong way?

Flex Spark Border Only On 3 Sides of Button

How can I achieve the 3 Lines around the button?Ok I was able to add top and left side lines but I can't fifure out the right side line. What amn I doing wrong?

I have an expression in my SSRS report that calculates a field Total across multiple groups:
=IIf(SUM(Fields!sales_Dollars.Value) > 0 ,(SUM(Fields!Total_Defective__.Value)/IIF(SUM(Fields!sales_Dollars.Value) <= 0, 1, SUM(Fields!sales_Dollars.Value))),0)
I had to alter it by adding groups within the statement:
=SUM(IIf(SUM(Fields!sales_Dollars.Value,"Item_Process_Group") > 0 ,(SUM(Fields!Total_Defective__.Value,"Item_Process_Group")/IIF(SUM(Fields!sales_Dollars.Value,"Item_Process_Group") <= 0, 1, SUM(Fields!sales_Dollars.Value,"Item_Process_Group"))),0))
The problem is that there is a 0 in the denominator of one of the rows in the calc that is not in the group specified in the clause. This causes an #error. (at least I believe this is the cause)
is there a way to slip in a check for zero in **Fields!sales_Dollars.Value** with no group? sort of like how it does it in the first code example.

How To hide a column on a Matrix using a parameter that is set-up as a multi-select
Hi,
I have a multi-select parameter (has 4 choices ie. A,B,C,D). In the matrix the parent Column group is a date and the child group is based on the Multi-select parameter field. When all choices are selected the report returns a column per
date and then within that date column 4 sub columns as expected.....This all works.
Challenge ... I added another column (Col5). For Col5 I only want it to show if value B has been selected from the multi choice
Another way of saying it.... How do I get a column to appear (Visibility) if a specific Value has been select in a multi-choice parameter

Custom report - Can't customize font / table width etc
So i'm authoring my first report - that works fine; however I can't seem to figure out how to customize the font / table width etc. I'm creating an RDL file from Report Server Project Wizard in Visual Studio and in there i'm changing font sizes and table
widths and I can see its changing in the RDL file's XML. I then plug the RDL file into my managment pack and import it. I run the report and the results always have this huge font and the table widths don't change. Anyone have any idea what i'm missing or

If you click on work around someone posted that they were able to modify the default font in visual studio.
"If I am not mistaken, you can update your Report.rdl template file in visual studio
to use the default font you wish to use.
navigate to this location (where x is your visual studio version):
C:-\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio x\Common7\ide\PrivateAssemblies\ProjectItems\ReportProject
copy report.rdl to an already created report project.
Add the report to your report project
Update the default font where applicable.
Copy the updated report.rdl back to the location above and that is it.
The next time you open your project, you will be using the update rdl file as your
template.
You can do this as many times as you want.

Dynamically assigning aggregation type in a matrix table
I have a matrix table that will produce multiple summary columns. These columns should not all use Sum in the Totals row at the bottom. Some will any of these to be determined at runtime: Sum, Avg, Count, Min, Max. I have a column in the
underlying dataset that will tell me which aggregation type to use and now I need some logic in the summary cell to use the correct aggregation type. I tried different variation of this:
=IIF(Fields!AgType = "Sum", Sum(Fields!VI_Impact.Value), … next IIF statement….
And here’s the full line
=IIF(Fields!AgType = "Sum", Sum(Fields!VI_Impact.Value), IIF(Fields!AgType = "Avg", Avg(Fields!VI_Impact.Value), IIF(Fields!AgType = "Cnt", Count(Fields!VI_Impact.Value), IIF(Fields!AgType

I also replaced the zero at the end with another sum statement as a default if nothing else is used.
Just to keep it real simple for proof of concept, I used:

But the report gets the error:
The Value expression for the textrun ‘VI_Impact.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]’ contains an error: [BC30311] Value of type ‘Microsoft.ReportingServies.ReportProcessing.ReportObjectModel.field’ Cannot be converted to ‘String’
Any idea how I can make this work?Thanks Jason. I've put an sql script below that will create a test table and populate it with test data. I also attached an rdl file so after you run the script and load the report, all you need to do is update the report's data source
to the correct database and you will see exactly what I'm trying to do.
This report table creates a maxtrix with 4 SUM columns to the right. as you will see in the data, the column headers are named by "VA", and column "AgType" shows how the column should be aggregated. Once you run the report
and look at the data it should be easy to understand.

Diagonal line on SSRS line chart
Hi all,
I'm struggling with a charting issue that I was hoping someone here might be able to help with - I've looked through various blogs without success. I need to insert a diagonal line running the full width of a line chart, representing the linearly increasing
target value over a month. The actual data will then be a secondary series on the same vertical axis, showing progress against the target based on today's data.
This report has several limitations that I should emphasise before someone says "Well, why can't you just generate the target data in the SQL query?". It's for Dynamics CRM Online, so the only type of data source and query allowed is FetchXML.
I can't even use a simple SQL query that returns constant values, let alone an actual SQL DB query. It also doesn't seem to be possible to have any custom code in the report, which makes it even more frustrating. FetchXML is just not set up to do things like
return constant values in a query, or return a dataset which is the set of days in the current month.
What I do have is two datasets, one of which returns the actual data, which I've used as the first series in the table, and a second dataset that returns a single value that represents the target for the month. There's no way, as far as I'm aware, to cross-join
that with a set of dates and then use a calculated field in the dataset to turn it into a linear series.
I've set the min and max values of the X-axis to show me all dates, and my initial solution to the problem was to have a horizontal line at the target value, as shown below (red dotted line). However, I've been asked to change that to the solid red diagonal
line as shown:
Series 1 (Total order value) is the RunningValue of the daily order values, summed across the dates.
Series 1 data looks something like this:

Does anyone have ideas on how I can do this? I'm happy to take any suggestions; the line doesn't have to be interactive or be an action, so it could even be rendered directly onto the chart, if that's possible. The only limitation is that it needs to be
viewed on screen, and be printable. I'd prefer some sort of elegant approach that allows me to do it as two series on the same chart, but frankly at this point I'm beyond caring how it's done - so long as it works, it can be held together with chewing gum

When you want to see the diagonal line, you should divide the target value with number of values in x-axis,
let say Month March has 31 days, your target is 25000
then 25000/31=806.4516129032258
But to do dynamic you need to get the number of days in month

SSRS 2012 Displaying unwanted subtotal rows in reports
This looks like an Issue that has been noted and solved in prior versions of SSRS however we are now seeing similar issues in SSRS 2012 and have been unable to find a solution to this yet...
Basically when we export a report with groupings and no subtotals to excel we get blank rows added to excel with the subtotals for each level in the report - sample is below, unwanted rows are highlighted in yellow:

After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it. When we export a report with drilldown actions to excel, it will add an extra row for each group. The reason behind the extra row is to provide at least one row for excel that always displays
regardless the toggle state. In your scenario, if we use the =Sum(Fields!market_value.Value) in the details row, then the extra row will display the total of this group, if we use the Fields!market_value.Value in the details row, then the extra row will display
the first value of this group. Based on my research, this is by design.

Expression in SSRS Slowing down Report Rendering
An expression in my report is making the report to run very slowly. The
expression, set in a Row Column Visibility Property is like so:
=IIF(Parameters!View.Value = 1 AND (Fields!PastVal.Value = 0)AND(Fields!DatePay.Value = 0) AND
(Fields!Line.Value = 0),True, IIF(Parameters!View.Value = 2 AND Fields!TaxPaid.Value = "N",True, False))
Now this expression returns the right result. The problem is that it makes the report run very slow. To test it, I took off the expression and reports are displayed in less than 3 seconds but with the expression on, report takes over 50 seconds to run.

After creation of that column just go to the row visibility property and use newly created calculated column directly as shown in below screen.
I kept both tablix one is normal having expression in visibilty condition and another with calculated columnto verify the result. when I run the report result is like below:-

I have one requirement to call the value from different datasets within the same report.But the value should be returned based on multiple column join values.
Ex: Main dataset query

My approach:
calculated field in main dataset as Join1

calculated field in main dataset 2 as JoinArrears

I am able to reproduce your issue, you are using Matrix control not Tabix control.
Seond thing in matrix control also it will work fine , if you modify your SQL query as given below:-

Becauze when Value Cell is evaluating then its not finding the Name column, in your sql
when Value is blank thats nothing (Not NULL), it should have that row to evaluate.

SSRS Not Repeating the Group Header
Hi folks,
I have one situation, that need to repeat the group header on new page.
I have the table that has grouping, and I have group header and details, each group will have one detail row only but the detail row will grows multiple page in that situation I need to repeat the header of that
group but couldn't do it I have referred the following and tried its not working for me,

Strange Matrix group by date question
I have the following data:

I am using a matrix with a group by date to produce the following:

As you can see it only selected one value for bob on 1/2.
Is is possible to show all of the values while still grouping by date?

Expression to find value for previous year SSRS
Hi
I need some help with expressions.I need a report that shows calcul of a field for current year as well as previous year respecting this rule expression(Last-Last Previous)/Last Previous*100 (I work with MDX Query and i work with SSRS 2008).
Also the report runs on a Year Parameter. Below is an example for the result
for example i selected the years 2010 2011 2012 i can select another years because i have the report runs on a Year Parameter

and the result i want
