SPDD - Modifications

Hi All,
We are in the process of upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0.
Please find the screenshot of the SPDD transaction
http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dctrtng5_0dqxqcw
In the deleted objects it shows that there is a table named
/RWD/NOTESLINK
when i try to create this table it populating an error message "/RWD/" namespace doesnot exist.
but when i check tables in se11 with "/RWD/* " then i am able to get 17 table entries.
If we check for no of table entries on source system it shows 18 entries.
It mean do we need to create it ? if it is not allowing us to create because of the namespace "/RWD/" does not exist then what can we do ... Is there any possibility we can ignore this for now and can proceed with upgrade work or do we need to fix this then only we can proceed our updage work ?
Please suggest me what can we do on this.
Cheers,
Reddy

Ignore the issues and go further with upgrade

  • SPDD question

    Hi,
I have a question on spdd modification
When I adjusted SPDD modification, I followed SAP proposal and created a structure ZAA as include structure,
But there is a warning on this structure(enhancement category), I ignored this warning in SPDD modification. and the request of SPDD hasn't be transported to QA system , because
I adjusted SPDD on QA again,I will do it on PRD again.
    The problem is:
1: After DEV system Upgrade, we are doing some syntax correction, also, I want to correct these two structures's warning, but these two structures are locked by user (SPDD user ) and client 000.
so I cann't correct these two structures.
How should I do on these issue.
(Not only DEV, but also QA and PRD)...
2: In Standard spdd flow, is it necessary to correct the add-on table's syntax warning:enhancement category (This add-on table is created in spdd phase)??
3: If I correct the warning(enhancement category) of question 2   after upgrade ,is there any impact?
    Best Regards,

    Hi Harry,
Correction of these Warnings is not required. If you release the request in DEV you should be able to correct these structures again. Then you can transport them to QA and PRD. Let me know if this helps.
    Thanks,
    Sai

  • SPDD Adjustment for Database indexes during the Upgrade

    Hi Experts,
I am currently upgrading our Existing ERP 6.0 SP13 to ERP 6.0 ehp 4.0 with SP 03 and NW 701. I am kind of lost on the SPDD modifications Adjustment. We have 4 objects are in the SPDD modifications under "Without Medications Assistant. All of them are related to Database tables, where our developers created indexes for SAP Delivered Database table object. All of them are YELLOW. If select one of them and go to "Adopt Medications", it brings a Dialog window with
"Database table BKPF. Adjust all objects selected subtree?" --> I clicked on YES
    I get the following
Database Table BKPF Table Index Z01
    background
The object has been modified without using the Modification Assistant.
Therefore no support is available from the system for transferring your
    modifications.
    Procedure
*[Subtree icon]* Before you adjust your  modifications, you can select multiple
    objects or a subtree.
*[Check Mark icon]*   If you have selected  multiple objects, you can skip the processing
    of this object.
You can use the "Processor/Status" function to add other processors.
If you have modified an object where multiple versions are possible,
then the last version that contains changes has been stored in "version
    management".
*[Pencil icon]* Otherwise, use your own  notations to transfer the modifications to
the new version of the object.
*[Check Mark icon]* After an object is  inserted in a transportable change request, the
red traffic light icon is replaced by the green checkmark in the tree.
If you do not want any modifications to be adopted, choose the "Reset
    to Original" function.
I clicked on the Pencil icon [PENCIL CHANGE] -> it takes me to that object where I DO NOT have any options to adopt the objects....
I am bit of confused, I should get an option to adopt this object, so I can keep the current version and SAP doesnt over write it after upgrade and delete my indexes.
Please tell me what I am doing wrong here.
    Thanks in Adamancy

  • Spdd user

    Hi
I adjusted spdd modification with User ID SPDD01 in client 000.
after upgrade,  I cann't find the user ID SPDD01 in client 000.
Can you tell me why the user ID is not existing now?
Is it deleted aotumatically in Upgrade Phase?
    Regards,

    Guys ,
As per the new upgrade procedure
    1. shadow instance is created during upgrade and whole uptime phases will take place on this when
the actual instance is still running
    2. It will have DDIC by default with the same useid and password as the oringinal system
    3. In your case ,other user for SPDD activities must have been created in shadow instance
    4. At the end of upgrade there is switch of the repository and only 1 instance left with the target release
    5. the schema and the shadow system is deleted ,hence user cretaed will not be present
    6. now the simple solution is create another user
    Success !!

  • ERP 2005 Upgrade

Has anyone upgraded to ERP 2005 that is using the SPL for document splitting but you have not implemented the new GL yet?
We are testing for our ERP 2005 upgrade and our document splitting rules are not working correctly anymore.  OSS says that changes were made in document splitting for the "new GL" but we are not using the new GL yet.  We need document splitting to work like it did before the upgrade but we don't know which config settings to change.

    Hi Ian,
I came through your solution when I was looking for the similar kind of problem. Here is my question. If have not selected the 'Select for transport' button after modifcations and before continuing with ACT_700 phase, can I select this button after I complete the upgrade on the DEV and before continuing with QAS? Would the upgrade still consider the SPAU adjustments to be included automatically in the QAS? If not, what is the alternative to move these transports manually?
My other question is, you have mentioned not to add SPDD transports to make it automatic. So, how else the SPDD modifications can be moved to QAS?
Your response ASAP is highly appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • About global setting

    Hi, experters:
Before I adjusted spdd modification, I log on ecc60
with Client 000, user: DDIC , use tr-code: se03 to change the global setting , I changed all namespace to modifiable.
now, I have finished spdd modification work, my question is : should I reset those namespace back to old(default) status???if the answer is : Yes. when should I do the resetting job?
    please give me some idears.
    Thanks experters,

    Hello Harry,
maybe its the best i explain what upgrades i've done and how the settings in the systems were:
First i made a copy of our productive system (ECC 5.0) and made the upgrade in the Copy (to ERP 6.0). In the shadow instance i set all (global, software and namespace settings) to modifiable/restricted modifiable. This does not affect the real system and the upgrade sets the settings back after SPDD automatically. For the SPAU i had not to change the settings. Thats maybe because the global setting is modifiable, the software settings are modifiable/restricted modifiable and half of the namespace settings are modifiable and the other are not modifiable.
After that i've done the upgrade in the development system. During that i recorded the SPDD and the SPAU changes each in one change request and marked them for further upgrades.
Now I'm on upgrade of the QA-System where i told the upgrade to use the both transport for SPDD and SPAU. So we save time because of no need to do the adjustement manually again.
The documentation says that for modifying a repository object you have to set the global, the softwarecomponent and the namespace settings to modifiable. For the SPAU i think you can wait wich Objects have to be adjusted and then make the according settings. But i'm quite sure the the global settings must be set to modifiable.
    Maybe this helps a bit.
    Greetings
    Christian

  • SPDD  EHP4 Problems with DDIC modifications from OSS Notes

    hi,
we made some ddic modifications (addes some fields to sap-tables accoring to oss-notes, also structures with .INCLUDE).
now in SPDD the system wants to create an Append Structure and it is impossible to just use the modifications as done accordingly to the oss notes?
can we accept the append-strucure proposal from spdd or should we throw the modifications away and redo it manually.
    best regrards,
    oliver

    Hello Oliver,
Can you specify where exactly you are facing the problem.
You would have 2 options now :
1- Either to retain your modifications - adopt the modification
    2. or overwrite everything by the corrections contained in the new SP - reset to original.
Both the above steps are independent and you can proceed as per your requirement. Absolutely
    your and your team's choice.
Just in case you are not very much aware about SPDD or modification adjustments, review following:

  • Cannot activate modifications for table structure in SPDD during upgrade

    Hi, all.
I am now trying to upgrade ECC5.0 to ERP6.0.
In SPDD screen, some modifications which will be lost are found with yellow traffic signal.
I have already tried to "adopt modifications", but the results can be categorized to 2 types.
Type1: Table XXXX was activated with warning. (Some fields were inserted by us.)
      [Warning messages]
! Enhancement category for table missing.
! Enhancement category for include or subtype missing.
! Field ZXXXX does not lie within customer namespace.
Table ZXXXX was activated with warning.
Appended table XXXX is temporarily partially active.
After clicking "back" button on Log display screen, " Adjustment of table XXXX can be completed".
I clicked "back" and selected "No" in pop-up screen of "Reset to original", the row of the table became green check mark.
However, when I checked "Versions" to compare "modif" and "active", the row of "modif" did not appear in "Versions of Object XXXX of Type Table Definition" screen, and seems that the modifications will be lost from "delta display" screen.
Can you provide me the solution of this situation ?
I guess these Tables in Type1 will be activated and the row of "modif" appear in "Versions" screen, if I could solve the warning, but I do not know how to do it.
Type2: Modifications cannot be adopted to Table XXXX
The table which will be changed in "General Attributes"
-from "Not classified" to "Can be enhanced(character-type)"
-from "Can be enhanced(character-type)" to "Can be enhanced(character-type or numeric)".
I have chosen "Adopt modifications", then Phase2 with message "Proposal corresponds to current version" appeared.
When I click "Back" and in pop-up screen which propose " Reset to original" I clicked "No", then the traffic signal was still yellow.
How can I adopt modifications for this type ?
    Sorry for long question.
Appreciate if you could answer above at least one of them soon.
    Best regards,
    Shin

  • Modification Adjustments (SPAU & SPDD)

    Dear all,
We are going for ecc6.0 upgrade from 4.7c.
While doing modification adjustments in SPAU & SPDD we thought of doing RESET TO ORIGINAL to all objects.
Customer enhanced more than 20 standard programs. They want their older enhancements as well as new version.
    How to approach this situation?
If we give RESET TO ORIGINAL whether the older enhancements will come automatically?
    Expecting clear answer please.
    Kind Regards.

    Hi ,
You should go for Adopt Modifications for Customer enhanced programs or else the Customer enhancements will not get reflected in ECC 6.0.
If you give RESET TO ORIGINAL the older enhancements will not come automatically instead the ECC 6.0 functionality will be there. You have to go for Adopt Modification. If the traffic signal is Green in SPAU and you click on adopt  modification the Customer changes will be automatically adjusted. If the traffic signal is Yellow Customer changes will be partially reflected and the remaining one's we have to do manually. If the traffic signal is Red we have to Adopt Modifications manually(i.e we have to compare both versions and copy paste the custom code)
    Thanks,
    Jay....

  • Is Access in Modifications Adjustment Phase in SPDD: 4.7, SR1

    Hi,
We are applying support packages and while in SPDD phase when we choose for "adopt modifications, it is asking for "Developer access key".
Same prompting while clicking the "accept proposal" or "Edit Proposal" also.
We are doing this activity in client 000 with Registered developer user ID only.
    My doubts are:
    1. Is Developer access Key required for doing Modification adjustments???
    Please through some light . . .
    Thanks

We are using OS SunOS 5.10. We have gone through the note  525677.
SunOS 5.10 doesn´t use /etc/system but uses projects to configure IPC shared memory.
Did you configure /etc/project and /etc/user_attr according to

  • Help required in running SPAU and SPDD transactions for post upgrade

    Hi All,
We are doing a system upgrade to EHP1.
We need help in SPAU and SPDD runs and why are they required in upgrade activity.
    Kindly respond.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Rashmi

    Hi Rashmi,
SPDD and SPAU are modification adjustments that you need to adjust after upgrade. This is a situation where the upgrade has to enhance some structures and elements that was available in previous version (probably 3.x). The system can not determine whether to overwrite the structures or to retain the old version. If the structures are custom structures, the system might overwrite any enhancements that you have done. In this kind of situations, the system puts any such structures and elements that it can not make a decision into these 2 lists. SPDD is for dictionary objects and SPAU is for configurations. You have to fix all the issues that are produced in these transactions. You need to first fix the ones in SPDD list and then the SPAU list. Once you drill down in those lists, it asks you to take actions like "change it", "keep the old version" or "ignore the changes" (I think these are the options). You need to chosse these options based on your analysis and turn all the yellow and red ones into green. Hope this gives you some idea.
    Thanks and Regards

  • UPGRADE  RELATED TO OSS MODIFICATIONS

    Hi all,
we are on verge of upgradtion form 4.6c to ECC 6.00
we have a lot of programs where we have applied oss notes.
Do i need to apply the oss notes in the new version ECC 6.00 too.
How can i know whether SAP has provided the same note modifications in new version i.e ECC 6.00
IN THAT CASE I DON'T HAVE TO APPLY OSS NOTE AGAIN.
Where does  SPAU AND SPDD COME IN TO PICTURE
let me know if iam wrong
    THANKS
    SWATHI

    Hi Swathi,
For the Upgrade to ECC 6.0 from 4.6c, most of OSS notes applied in 4.6c will be anyway added in the standard delivered system.
All the previous delivered OSS notes will be added in some of the Packages or patches of the ECC 6.0 system if these notes are applicable to ECC 6.0.
You can check in one way that check the applicability of the OSS notes you used whether it is applicable to version ECC 6.0 or added in package number.
Check if that package is in the upgraded ECC 6.0 or not.
I was in one of the upgrade project 4.6c to ECC 6.0, As far as my experience most of the previous notes are included.
Once the System is upgraded and there are some modifications done to standard programs, then we will have the issue of whether to go with the standard or use our modifications. In that case SPDD and SPAU are useful.
Please check the following links which will help you in using the above transactions -

Please use the following link to know the delta changes in the versions functionally -

    Hi,
We have upgraded from SAP 4.7 to SAP ECC 6 with Unicode.
After the upgradation we have started working with SPAU objects.
Currently I am working on SPAU: Without Modification Assistant.

    Hi,
in SPAU you will be getting three things..
    1>Green light 2>yellow light and 3>Red light
when the upgrade takes place if you see any object under Green that means the changes are automatically carried to the new version from older version
for yellow it has done partially and for red you need to do manually copying the code to the new version.
You have an option is "RESET to original" if you do this , the code will be reset to what SAP provided in the new version. Your old code won't be there.
Please go through the below link to understand about SPAU and SPDD.

  • Releasing SPDD/SPAU Transport manually

    Hello All,
    Is there any diference between
Selecting "select for transport" in SPAU/SPDD (this will update the umodauto.st file) and then Releasing
    Manually
    And
Selecting "select for transport" in SPAU/SPDD and then Releasing
    through the Upgrade Tool?

    Hi,
selecting "select for transport" is an pointer for the upgrade/ehpi tool that these requests are need to be exported by the tool.
the respective export happens in the UEXP_SPDD and UEXP_SPAU phases.
You can also release the requests under certain conditions : for example, modifications needs to be merged, or by chance the requests are not maked for transport. The correct procedure in such cases is as explained in SAPnote #  68678. This will take care of all the conditions and no other manual work is required.

  • Ecc 6.0 SPDD umodauto.lst

    Hi,
We are upgrading from 46c to ecc 6.0. Now we completed the Development upgrade and upgading QA.
We did SPDD during upgrade and we did not get umodauto.lst fine in ../bin directory.
Now I want to know the exact process to get umodauto.lst file and transport request.
We are upgrading QA and here we plan to do SPDD once again and we want to make umodauto.lst available for further upgrades.
    pl. suggest up.
In SPDD we did changes and system prompted for transport request.
We did not release TR or tasks in TR.
now tell us how do we do this.

    Hi
If you choose strategy downtime-minimized, the ABAP Dictionary objects (tables, data elements, domains, and so on) are adjusted during production operation. If you choose
strategy resource-minimized, they are adjusted during downtime before the ABAP Dictionary is activated. The adjusted objects are collected in a repair that is released to
a transport request. You cannot release this transport request; instead you must flag it for transport in transaction SPDD. Towards the end of the upgrade, SAPup exports the request to the transport directory /usr/sap/trans and registers it for transport in the umodauto.lst file.
Once it registers in umodauto.lst.  For the later upgrade boxes -> In PREPARE phase ADJUSTPRP the following screen appears
For automatically maintaining your modification in your ystem during the upgrade transport request from earlier upgrades are searched in the umoauto.lst in directory /usr/sap/trans/bin..
The file could not be read
There are several reason why this may be correct
eg: 'this is your first upgrade' or 'your system is not modified'.
Did you expect a list of transports being found?
->Confirm a list of transports to be included in the upgrade
    Select Yes &  OK
view umodauto.lst , should list as below eg:
    SPDD 700  SIDK100001
Click on Yes to include the transport
Click Yes to stop the ACT_700 phase and check the results of SPDD
