Specific layout: Collection Renderer Property for Sorting

Hi,
I am trying to create a new layout that display items sorting them by name (in alphabetical order).
The problem is that I don't know what is the name of that property and if it exists !!
In Collection Renderer, Property for Sorting, I have tried with "name" but it had no effect. Any idea ??

Hello Helge,
Unfortunatelly it is not possible to sort the repository resources based on more than one property.
In the configuration of the collection renderer it is possible to define the property for sorting. Moreover, the sorting mode (ascending/descending) could be specified.
Even not displayed properties could be used for sorting. However, it might be confusing for users since it is difficult to understand the order of the resources.

To modify the ascending/decending order, you need to edit the Layout set you use to display the documents.
In the collection renderer of the layout set, modify the below two properties
Property for Sorting: ex: name, modified by
Sorting Mode: ex: ascending/decending

Rendered Property for my Button not working correctly

Hi Guys,
I Have a Table which bound to my ObjectListDataProvider
Each row will have button as follow
1.Edit ( rendered = 'isRendered" ) ( action = "edit_action()" )
2.Update ( rendered = "not isRendered") ( Action = "update_action()")
3.Cancel ( rendered = "not isRendered()") (Action = "cancel_action()")
The idea is when user first load the page what they can only see is Edit Button
Then when they start Click the Edit Button for particularr row it will
invoke the edit_action() method and set some Setting which cause the isRendered() value changed so
The Edit Button now wont be rendered but Update and Cancel Button will be rendered.
But when i click on Update Button nothing happens.
it seems rendering Component at runtime doesn't work
But i use visible propert instead of rendered it works perfectly.
Anybody encounter this issue before?

yes when i clicked Edit Button these few thins will happen as below.
1. edit_action() invoked because i print something inside this method for tracing so i know this is invoked
2. then Edit Button would disappear( not rendered anymore) , as In turn ,
Update and Cancel Button would be rendered.
yea i use same value
all i did just go to properties windows bind the rendered value to "isRendered()" method
Because it doesn't work i clear the value , now i set the Visible value to "isRendered()" method for Update and Edit
But i never changed the action binding
so i guess its okay
Yea it is very weird and i dont know what cause this
the problem is when we can see Update Button means it is already being rendered right so it should invoke the binding method behind when i start clicking it but it just doesn't work for rendered...

What are the properties for sorting?

Hi Experts,
In News Autor I want to sort the list by using the latest news at the top.
So I need all the properties for sorting System Administration-> System Configuration -> Content Management ->User
Interface -> Settings ->Collection Renderer Settings -> news display collection renderer -> Property for sorting..
or Is there any solution for displaying the latest news First ?

Thanks for your reply.
I have tried out by changing "property for sorting = cm_modified".
but its not effecting the News Author.
where in News Author the modified one is being displayed first.
But my requirement is that the one which I have created new news should be displayed first not the modified news.

KM UI Settings sort folders last in collection renderer

I'm using a NewsExplorer layoutSet for showing KM content.
Items in a folder are sorted by descending modified date, but subfolders are always shown in the first positions.
Is there any way, in collection renderer settings, to sort subfolders in last positions?
Note: assigning order manually is not an option.

Hello Esteve,
usually it should sort the objects according the parameter settings in the collection renderer of the layout set.
Not much I could say here.
But, if the renderer is not the one you mean it is, it could have a different sort order.
You can verify it by activating the Debugging Settings.
Go to - System Administration - KM - CM - User Interface (show advanced options) - Debugging Settings - WdfProxy - Enter your user ID into "UI Superusers"
From now on you will see an additional link on your portal sites in the browser named "Rendering Information".
Browse through the information of "Render Object" displayed there.
If you want to remove the additional link "Rendering Information", just remove your user id from the debugging setting.
Anyway, only those users entered their will see the debugging link.

Transport user specific layout of standard report from developer server to

Hi ,
I am using user specific layout of standard report in my customizing report for retrieving data from standard report.
i want to transport this user specific layout of standard report from developer server (say client 400 ) to production server ( say client 100 ).
Also i want to copy this layout for all end users ( different user names ) in production server.
I tried to import user specific layout , it is possible only with in the same server ( say developer server , but different clients , say 400 to 450).
please help me to sort out this .

Renderd property for subtablayout's link

Hi All
Is it not possible to set SPEL for rendered property for one of the link in subtablayout.
Infact I am using one subtablayout .It has two links. one link is to be rendered based on the other values on the same page.So i have set link's rendered property to SPEL. but it is always rendering . I can see that in the code PVO's attribute has been set to false.

How to set user specific Layout for executing IW38/IW39 report.

Dear Experts,
We have 10 users seperatly, For executing IW38/39 transaction they have maintained seperate layouts for executing the reports. While saving layout they have saved the layout as 'user specific' Now some body has chage the settings.
After changing the setting all are getting same layout.
Please suggest how to set user specific layout. When user enter the IW38/39 report by default he should get his layout.

Create Variant using SHD0 and with Group and assign to particular user's
Here is the steps
Creating a Variant Group
1. Open transaction SHD0, enter the transaction code, and press enter.
2. Choose the Standard Variants tab page, and then the sub tab page Variant Groups, and enter a group name, such as GROUP_GEN
3. Choose Create. Enter a short text on the Maintain Variant Group window that appears and save the variant group.
Assigning Users
Once you have created the variant group and the relevant transaction variants with screen variants, you now need to assign users to the variant group as follows
1. Return to the Standard Variants tab page, Variant Groups sub tab page.
2. Enter the name of a user that you want to assign to this variant group, and choose Assign. A message that this user was successfully assigned to the variant group appears in the status bar. If you choose a where-used list for users, this user is displayed in the user list.
3. However, for the screen variants of the variant group that you created above to be displayed for the user, you first need to select Set Proposal. The user is assigned to the group and the associated transactions are started with the corresponding variants only once you choose the Set Proposal function.
You can use this procedure of user assignment for all other users that you want to add to the variant group

As I said you can use where SMS ID like %1 and see how many machines that gets you. If it's not enough do where SMS ID like %1 or SMS ID like %2. Keep adding a digit until you get ~5000. It won't be perfect though.

Invalid HTML Collection Renderer

Hi experts,
I've been trying to implement a HTML Collection Renderer by following the How to configure the HTML Collection Renderer for the KM flexible user interface EP 6.0 SP2. Our system is currently NetWeaver 7.0 SP15.
The HTML code is copied exactly from the how to document. However, no matter what I tried, I cannot get the HTML to display correctly and Rendering Information (I have enabled debugging setting) in preview iView complains that the layout set assigned (which is based on the HTML Collection Renderer) is invalid and always uses default layoutset instead. Below is the error text:

Invalid LayoutSet from iView/ URL Parameter: HTMLandList
LayoutMode: force

In the HTML Collection Renderer, I have the following value as HTML Filename:
/documents/Public Documents/HTML and List/KMdocinfo.html.
I also tried specifying complete path from the html file as Portal Favorites link. This relates to another question I also have: Should I try to preview the html file this way? Because I also cannot get image rendered correctly with the internal system URL http://com.sap.cm/, unless I changed it to our portal host name. But from what I read, that seems a fixed syntax that I don't need to worry about.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried your suggestion however with no luck.
I have a layout controller that allows a grid on top and a tree list below. The Grid successfully displays the HTML collection renderer, and the tree-list behaves correctly.
However, if I place a mass command in the HTML collection renderer using the suggested syntax, it does not seem to recognize the command. I have tried several commands such as copy_admin_mass and move_admin_mass and the link opens an invalid page with the url of http://com.sap.cm/?uicommand=copy_admin_mass
Any thoughts?

How to eliminate empty node space from tree when rendered property is false

I have created a menu Tree for my ADF BC application while working in JDev 10.1.3.3.
I have tried two methods, first is by creating a menu model as discussed in example in ADF Developers Guide Book Section 19.2.1. Second by creating two view objects and creating the menu tree from my database table.
Depending on the logged in user I want to decide whether to show or not to show a menu tree option to the user. For this purpose I have implemented a function in a managed bean that calls a pl/sql stored procedure to decide if the user has access to a certain component. In first case I have set the rendered property of the menu item to #{menuTree.shown}, where shown is an attribute in the menu model whose value is properly set using java functions that call pl/sql function in turn. In second method, I have also tried to set the rendered property and calling a function that returns true or false based on if the user has access to the menu option.
Problem
When rendered property is returned as false, although the menu option is not displayed but an empty space is displayed in my tree and remaining nodes and/or menu options are displayed with an ugly gap.
How I can remove this unwanted gap, is there a way?
