Splitting target IDocs(File to Idoc scenario)

Hi Experts,
Customer
........Recordset(1..unbounded)
Header
........................Child1
........................Childn
For each header I need to create an IDOC.
WABC
........IDOC
...........Header
...........Item
I've mapped IDOC to Header. So, whenever Header comes and IDOC is created. For Ex, In the source file 2 headers are coming, output currently looks like
<WABC>
.........<IDOC>
.........</IDOC>
.........<IDOC>
.........</IDOC>
</WABC>
But I want the output to be
<WABC>
.........<IDOC>
.........</IDOC>
</WABC>
<WABC>
.........<IDOC>
.........</IDOC>
</WABC>
Thanks,
Vishal

Re-reading your original message, if you really want the output to be:
<WABC>
.........<IDOC>
.........</IDOC>
</WABC>
<WABC>
.........<IDOC>
.........</IDOC>
</WABC>
that won't go through the idoc adapter. The output has to be:
<IdocType>
.....<IDOC>
.....<IDOC>
</IdocType>
<IdocType>
.....<IDOC>
.....<IDOC>
</IdocType>
But if you are planning that the output is sent to an R3 system with an idoc, then the weblog and its solution will work perfect. You don't need that structure as a requirement, you just need to use the correct output structure.
If you want to send any other thing different to an idoc, then you can build any structure that it works for you.
Did I understand you correctly?

  • XML IDoc file to IDOC .

    Hi,
    I am receiving XML idoc (Orders05) file from 3rd party to PI system , PI needs to create sales order IDoc ( Orders05) in ECC system.
    1) Do I need to create source structure for XML IDoc file ? If yes should I create the structure as Orders05 ?
    2) How to map line items of xml file to Orders05 IDoc line items ?
    Please help.
    Thanks - Vinay.

  • IDOC-FILE - If IDOC is not triggered, need to genarate file with constants

    Hi Friends,
    I have a scenario like this.
    IDOC to FILE scenario.
    1. IDOC will get triggerd everyday and flat file will be genatated at specified location.
    2. If IDOC is not genarated for the day, need to genarate falt file with some constants.
    Can anyone help me on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Vivek,
       I assume that Idocs are being triggred from a different system say SAP r/3 system to XI server. Since you do not have any messages to verify whether idoc has been triggred for the day or not, you have to keep a log in the SAP r/3 system in form of a table. This table (say Z_IDOC_TIME) will contain one entry having date and time when last idoc has been sent to PI system. Now one ABAP code is required which will continuously read the contents of last entry in the ZIDOC_TIME and compare with current server time. If the difference between the time is found to be more or equal to 24 hours then emails can be triggred to a fixed set of recipients. The set of recipients may be made dynamic by storing them in a table say ZEMAILID. So the ABAP program will take contents from both Z_IDOC_TIME and ZEMAILID. The flat file with constants can be attached with the emails.
    In case you do not want emails to be sent then you would require batch jobs which will run in background. This batch job will check at a particular time if iodcs were sent for the day or not. If they not been sent then it will call ABAP code to trigger iodcs with a different data set than what is expected by PI in normal conditions (may be you can populate the idoc with the constants you would like in the file). When such an idoc is received in PI then you can easily generate an flat file with required constants.

  • Message Split -- File to Idoc Scenario  -  ( Without BPM )

    I have multiple records coming to XI in a File and I have to create Multiple Idocs to R/3.
    Due to Complexity of mapping I'm splitting Maaping step into 2 message Mappings.
    A-->B
    B-->C
    In the 2nd Mapping step  I'm doing message Split meaning for each Source record I'm creating multiple Idocs ( To be precise each record on the source becomes 4 idocs in the Target.
    2nd Mapping step is as follows
    Source 1..1
      Sourcerecord 0.. Unbounded
        field1  0..1
        field2  0..1
        filed3  0..1
    Target
    Message 1
        Idoc   1.. Unbounded
          Idoc Structure..
    Message 2
          Idoc   1.. Unbounded
    Message 3
          Idoc   1.. Unbounded
    Message 4
          Idoc   1.. Unbounded
    So based on some criteria each record of Source will be mapped to 4 Messages (  1 each under each Message )
    Is it possible to do this without BPM?. Iam sending all these Idocs to same R/3 System.
    Thanks for any help..RK

    Hi,
    See the blog
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/04/xi-idoc-bundling--the-trick-with-the-occurance-change
    <i>Basicly we have 2 ways of handling such scenarios:
    - we can use a block step and send multiple IDOCs from our BPM
    - we can also do a little trick and send multiple IDOCs from the XI without a BPM
    The first approach is a standard XI approach. It involves the use of a BPM
    so the speed of this transfer many not be very good in case you'd like to send
    hundreds or thousands of IDOCs in just one call.
    The second approach uses a little trick that was mentioned several times
    on the XI Froum by a number of XI developers but is still not very clear to the XI newbies.
    It allows us to send multiple IDOCs without the use of a BPM. Most probably this will be your choice
    if you'd like to use such 1:N (IDOCs) scenarios effectively.</i>

  • ** File to IDoc scenario - IDoc not created in target system

    Hi friends,
    We are doing File to IDoc scenario. We made required setting in both application as well as XI system. While test the scenario, the file is picked up and successfully processed in SXMB_MONI, but the inbound IDoc is not created in target system. What could be the problem?
    We are using DEBMAS message type DEBMAS06 IDoc type. We checked the following.
    1) SM59 - Connections are OK both application and XI system
    2) IDX1 - In XI System, we have assigned SAP<R/3> port.
    3) IDX2 - IDoc is imported.
    4) In ID - Sender File - Business Service - Adapter-Specific Identifier - Logical System name is given.
    5) In application system. - Partner Profile maintained correctly.
    6) SM58 - There is no error.
    So, what could be the reason ?
    Kindly reply, friends,
    Thanking you.
    Kind Regards,
    Jeg P.

  • Trouble shooting File to Idoc scenario: wrong Idoc structure in target

    Hi All,
                 I am working in an file to idoc scenario. Now the scenario is running but the idoc I am sending from SAP XI is not matching with one received in SAP R/3 system. This is not a new scenario. The  scenario was already existing. I have done structural changes in Idoc structure and re-imported it in SAP XI. When the iodoc reaches SAP R/3 system I check its structure and data content. 4 of its fields are missing all 4 were newly added fields. Data from some fields are getting merged into one field within Idoc. data from one field is moving onto other fields in target. I have refreshed the metadata using IDX2 transcation within SAP XI but still getting same result.

    Hi All,
    I am able to see the changed idoc structure in IR. I have also tried cache refresh. I am trying to explain my problem once again with example.
    Source Idoc in XI
          fieldname                            data
           f1                                       d1
           f2                                       d2
           f3                                       d33
           f4                                       d4
           f5                                       d5
    Idoc structure received in SAP R/3 system. I am seeing through we02 transcation, inbound idoc
          fieldname                            data
           f1                                       d1
           f2                                       d2
           f4                                       d33d4
    I have tried cache refresh, IDx2 metadata refresh, but no improvement of the situation.

  • Help needed in a file to idoc scenario

    Hi all,
    The scenario is file to Idoc via XI. The problem here is the input file might contain both the PO create and PO change in the same file.
    Assume the first record is PO create and When we post this via XI there could be a delay for creating the PO in the SAP.
    Meanwhile even if the second record (say that's the PO change for the first PO create record) gets processed parallely there could be a possibility of error saying that PO is not created.
    How do we handle this in XI??.. If we use Queue Processing in IDoc adapter it'll guarantee only the delivery order and not the processing order if I'm right?.
    Please guide.

    Saravanan - IDoc preocessing can be handled by serialization. This will guarantee also the order of processing.

  • Steps required in File to Idoc Scenario

    Hey guys i m doin a file to Idoc scenario and just wanna make sure my steps r correct.
    steps done on the XI server
    1.Create RFC destination(test the destination by giving the target host as the R/3 server).
    2.Create port for the RFC destination.
    steps on the R/3 side
    1.Create/verify logical system name.
    and finally create business system for this logical system in SLD.
    now do i need to do partner profile as well or not? and if i have to do it how is it accomplished.
    thanx
    ahmad

  • XI Problem: File to Idoc Scenario - IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS

    Hi,
       I'm having problems with inbound IDOCS in R/3. The idocs from XI are sent as tRFC using the FM IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS and this is a problem because i have like 200 or 300 idocs to be sent at the same time and each IDOC takes like 5 minutes to process, hence the system crash due the amount of simultaneous logins (error message ThISend: ThRollout ).
    I need to fix this problem using some kind of serialization and the use of the function module IDOC_INBOUND_IN_QUEUE.
    Does anyone know how to achieve this?.
    The scenario configuration in XI and R/3 is as follows:  (PI 7.0 SP15) - (R/3 SAP ECC 6.0)
    File to Idoc.
    Sender CC->
    File content conversion
    Exactly once in order
    Receiver CC->
    IDOC protocol
    Queue Processing
    R/3 Partner profile config.
    Message type BOMMAT
    Trigger immediately
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    You have to split the messages in the sender file adapter, by using the parameter "Recordsets per Message".
    I hope that it will solve your problem. Please see the below link, it might be useful to you.

  • Doubt about RFC Destination in FILE to IDOC Async scenario

    hi
    In FILE-XI-IDOC Async Scenario we are creating RFC Destination in R/3 and XI.
    For Asyn we don't want response But We are Creating RFC Destination in R/3 also.
    Any specific reason.
    Thanks in advance.

    First you need to have a clear understading of how the idoc adapters works.
    In xi we create rfc destination and specify that in the port maintenance on the idoc adapter so that we can establish a connection to the sender / receiver system which contains the IDOC METADATA (IDX2) that is required by the idoc adapter to convert the native idoc into idoc xml format.
    In R/3 as sender we create rfc destination so that when the idoc has to be transported to the xi system first it will be sent to trfc port that rfc desination that  u define the trfc port contains that the target system address(IP) and logon parameters req.So idoc can be sent to the desired destination.
    In R/3 as a receiver to facilitate communication we define rfc dest, partner profile and specify the inbound parameters so that idoc can be posted.
    Hope this answers your ques.
    cheers

  • Problem in SOAP to IDOC & File scenario

    Hi,
    My scenario is SOAP ->IDOC and FILE,when I run the scenario IDOc was processed and File was not created at the target system.I maintained LS name for sender SOAP and IDOC business service.Nothing was maintained in adapter spec identifiers for Recer business service(i.e For target File CC).This was working fine in Dev.After Importing another scenario which uses same business service,this didnt stp working?
    what could be the reason?
    Thanks,

    > my imported scenario and existing scenario in QA using same sender business service.After importing the other scenario,existing scenario is failed to create files at target system even though it shows successful in MONI.
    >
    Check the target dir permission once again from your BASIS team. Reconfirm the the target dir name in receiver CC also.
    > Should we maintain Logical system in adapter specific identifiers for Recr File CC also??? I create a file in BI application server from recr File CC.
    >
    No, for creating a file you don't require this. This is required only in case of IDOC.
    > my scenario is
    > (SOAP sender) -->  TO IDOC & FILE  ..i maintained LS name in sender BS where SOAP CC is created and also at Recr BS where IDoc CC is created. The other Recr BS for File where I didn't.IS it required ?

    For File recever BS, No need.

  • File to idoc scenario with file size 16 MB

    Hi experts
    We are developing  a file to idoc scenario.The file is a 16 mb CSV txt file.Is it feasible to poll a 16 mb file at a single shot or any mechanism can be followed which would split the 16 mb file into manageable size files so that it can be polled from the adapter engine side.Will there be any performance bottleneck fr polling 16 mb file .Plz provide help in this regard

    Hi Sabyasachi,
    There would be absolutely no problem , you need not worry. I myself am using a 16 MB master record file.
    The problem only arises when you need to open this 16 MB file for into some errors or some other changes then invariably what happens is that my desktop hangs.

  • Problems in file to idoc scenario

    hi all
    I am doing file to IDOC Scenario. In that I am getting the successful message but the Fields which I mapped to the IDOC is not populated in the IDOC.
    In message mapping also it was showing the same thing. when I entered the fields of the file manually it was coming into the idoc and if i gave any file then it was not populated.
    Can any one help us.
    Regards
    Vasu

    Hello
    For that u will have to change the occurunces in messages tab in mappings and do a split by value in mappings to generate 4 different messages.
    secondly i hope ur using BPM for the same. in that case u can use parForEach to post 4 IDocs at a time.
    regards
