Spreadsheet table widget

Hi Muse testers,
This is my first attempt at a mucow widget ... I wanted to provide it in case it was something you might find useful.
I'm sure Adobe will be creating a table widget soon, but I have created this as a way to make an editable table powered by a spreadsheet
The following page provides instructions and a link at end to the beta for people to try out. It's for a three-column table. Feel free to test it out ...

I'm surprised you put your TableVirtual class in the org.eclipse.swt.widgets
package. Isn't it considered bad form to add classes to a package that is
owned by others like this? It seems that it would imply TableVirtual was
part of the open source SWT widgets in the eclipse.org repository.

  • Currency format in Spreadsheet tables uses period's instead of comma's

Xcelsius 2008 SP3.  I have inserted a spreadsheet table into my model, the columns are formatted in a currency format with $ and the thousand's separator that is displaying in the table is a period instead of a comma.  Has anybody else seen this problem?

    Hi,
yes, I`ve had the same behavior. As a workaround, you have to change the format of the cells.
Go into the properties of the cells:
    -> Right mouse click
    -> format cells
    -> category
    -> number
-> change something, e.g. the number of decimal places to show
Then you will have to map the component again to the same cells under "Display Data".
And now, the currency information will be shown correctly.

  • Spreadsheet table to column chart problem

Trying to copy a spreadsheet from Excel to a spreadsheet table to pick rows to graph in a column chart.
This isn't the spreadsheet, but it's set up like this. The underlines are there to space things out like table cells.
      Neighbors_______________Jones___Smith_____Tomlinson
      Number of Pets
      Cat_________________________1______0____________1
      Dog_________________________1______2__________10
      Fish_________________________0_____30___________4
      Number of Plants
      Trees_______________________ 2______3____________1
      Potted_______________________1______2____________1
    In the spreadsheet table:
    display data: everything
source data: the numbers and the blank line on the "Number of Plants" row
destination  :a blank row extending from column 2 to column 4
    In column chart;
    make a series
    make pick by row
source data: the blank row from col 2 to col 4
make rows 1,2, 5 not pickable
When I preview, some of the pickable rows show nothing on the bar graph and others show graph for other row.
What am I doing wrong ?

Trying easier ones. For the spreadsheet table, the display data is all the rows, the source data are the numbers, and the destinations are blank rows that are 2 cells wide.
A spreadsheet table with the 2 rows
    1 2
    3 4
goes to a column chart fine.
A spreadsheet table with the 2 rows
    a 1 2
    b 3 1
goes to a column chart ok except tick marks aren't labelled with numbers on the b row.
A spreadsheet with the 3 rows
    a
    b 1 2
    c 3 1
has only row b in the column chart and row c is picked in the

  • Table Widget. Inserting text, audio file and pdf file.

  • 'Spreadsheet Table' component formatting

    Hi,
I have an excel "block" of data that is formatted to the client's expectation. Is it possible to capture those specific formats using the Spreadsheet Table Component (or some other)? It appears that most of my formats are lost, especially the "Wrap Text".
Is there a way to wrap text using the Grid, List View, or Spreadsheet Table modules on Xcelsius 2008 SP3?
    Thanks in advance!
    -Phil

I dont think you can do this with any other component except Spreadsheet one. Try playing more with the spreadsheet table component
the only way i can think of is if you can delete all the text in that block of data and map the spreadsheet table on that - by doing  this you will have the basic structure of that block of data and then you can use lables to do the formatting
    hope it helps

  • SWT table widget and multi column sorting

    Hello,
I want to make the standard SWT table widget support multi column sorting.
Searching on the web didn't lead to useful results. The Nebula project should be the last option.
I guess I need a comparator chain, but how do I realize aspects like let columns appear blue when marked or mark multiple columns by pressing shift key and left mouse button?
    Any examples are much appreciated.
    Thank you very much!
    Regards,
    Mick

  • Table Widget

Hi. I am trying to insert a table into Adobe Captivate 7. I am using the built in table widget.
But the problem I am having is that the widget seems only capable of displaying one line of text in the cell and won't show all the rows. (I have four). I thought resizing it might work, but that isn't the solution. It just distorts the text in the cells already displayed.
How do you make the widget display multiple lines and as many rows as you need?
    Best regards,
    Doug Herrington

No wrapping text in cells. You can insert rows/columns by clicking on the arrow that shows when you have a row selected, it has a tiny + sign.

  • Spreadsheet Table Question

I am trying to create a dashboard similar to the one from Analysis Factory.
    [SWF|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/cx/samples/download_45/financeDashboards/finance1.swf]
I would like to have a drown down box allowing me to choose which set of data I would like to view in the spreadsheet table.  I would then have the capability to click in the spreadsheet table, allowing me to change the values of my chart and gauges located to the right.
I already have a model that allows me to click on the data of one district from the spreadsheet table, I'm stuck on how to add the combo box, so I can have the spreadsheet table change on the district I select.
I'd me more than happy to email the 2008 xlf. I'm currently working with.
    Thanks,
    Jim

You may want to try to use nested if statements in your spreadsheet table to display the information based on your selection in your combo box. Set your combo box to use values.
For instance, if your combo box had 6 selections you would have a cell that that would be updated with the numbers 1-6. Use your if statements to reference that cell to display the right information depending on what you select in your combo box.
I'm not sure if I am making sense...but hopefully this is will help you.
    Good luck!

  • Spreadsheet tables not displaying properly

Ok.  So I have finally managed to get my dashboard working.  I have one issue that has cropped up.  Before preview, my spreadsheet tables are displaying the ranges I am asking them to do, along with hiding unused cells.  When preview runs, Xcelsius throws out the formats I specifically set the components up to do.  I get a partial result of one piece of data, and a whole lot of "N/A"
Is there some setting I am missing?  I am scratching my head as to why it works before preview, but not after?  I can send over my work, if someone wants to see what I am seeing.
    Thanks!

Ok.  So I switched up to the List View Component.  Again, before preview, the model is doing exactly what I am asking it to do.  When the selector in the Accordion menu changes to a new investment, the other components that have to change are doing so.  However, when the preview is run, the List View components are STILL breaking formatting and retuning a "#N/A" in all cells but the first row.
Why is Xcelsius doing this?  I have checked my excel functions.  They work.  I have checked my links to the components.  They work.  I have checked the spreadsheet tabs with the related data tables.  They work.  There is NOTHING to explain why this damned program is deciding to give the finger to my components and not work on preview.
Please.  I need help with this.  I really am at a loss to understand why this is happening, and I am getting pretty angry about the decision to utilize this software.

  • Problem with Spreadsheet Table

    Hello,
I've just purchased Xcelsius Present, and I've been trying to build some P&L charts using the software.  However, I can't seem to get the Spreadsheet table to work.
I had two tabs on the canvas, one for spreadsheet table to display the P&L, and one tab for charts.  If I don't upload the spreadsheet onto the first tab, everything works exactly how they should be.  But as soon as I link my spreadsheet to the spreadsheet table, everything blanks out.  I can't see anything in the preview.  But the design view seems to be ok, and everything shows up ok.  I've also tried to use List View as well as getting rid of the tabs and just use a blank canvas.  Nothings seems to work.  I am getting really frustrated with this.
Can somebody please help me out.
    Thanks in advance.
    L.T.

    Welcome to the forums.  First upgrade to the latest fix pack to ensure any know bugs are fixed.  Then re-post if that doesn't help.  [Xcelsius Present 2008 Fix pack 2 is now available;
Also check that you haven't accidentally turned on dynamic visibility for any components.

  • Wrong format for spreadsheet table, list view, label component

I have a movie which is connected to a web service.  The web service feeds into cells that are linked to a spreadsheet table component.  The cells are properly formatted in excel and the fields show up fine when using static data.  However, once I pull in data in preview mode or with a published movie the cells lose the desired format.  I tested this with other components such as list view and label and get the same result.  I do not see the same results with the mouse over values in a chart though.  Anyone know what might be the problem?
    Thanks for the help

    Thanks for the response Andy.
The fields I use have the same uniform format so there is no dynamic formatting going on.  I have read up on the rebind fix and have tried it but it doesn't seem to change things.
Here are the specifics of my situation.  I paste some sample data returned from a query into the excel sheet.  One of the fields is a percentage so I format those cells appropriately and the excel sheet reflects the change.  I then bind the spreadsheet component to the cells containing the sample data.  The percentage field is properly displayed on the canvas as well as when I go into preview mode.  I now feed the cells with the sample data with a web service that uses the same query I used to generate the sample data.  In preview mode the percentage cell now is unformatted and shows up looking like a decimal number.  The same situation occurs for a label component bound to a single percentage cell.  I even configure the label component to format the text as a percentage.

Is there any library support the creation of spreadsheet table?

    Hi,
TableItem is a supported UI-component of Mobile Visual Designer of NetBeans Mobility Pack. Ready to use!
NetBeans Mobility Pack is the integrated Sun Wireless Toolkit 8an excellent "emulator") in the NetBeans high performance IDE. It simply increases the developer productivity.

  • Error 1020034 - Binary spreadsheet table token error.

Im getting this error, while retrieving in Essbase. I retrieved the same adhoc report in anothers system, Im getting the data. In my system Im getting this error
Error 1020034 - Binary spreadsheet table token error.

Usually an error like that is related to Excel 2007. The Essbase add-in still has the old Excel row limit.
The fix is usually to save to a lower version of Excel such as Excel 97-2003 Workbook (*.xls), and then save back up to Excel 2007.
Occasionally you will lose some Excel 2007 functionality that you will have to re-create, but not often.
    Hope this helps.

  • XCELSIUS-Comoponent Spreadsheet-table: formatting cells

    Hi,
I don't see how to format Cells in a spreadsheet-table. For instance right right-justified. I would expect in the table the same format as defined in the excel-sheet. But spreadsheet-table doesn't care at all about these definitions in the EXCEL-Sheet. I used the template "Income sheet", and didn't succeed here either. What is the trick?
    Best regards,
    Alfred

Hey Alfred, you are right there is an issue with this component ..you need to re-align the component every time you make changes in the back end excel table. To get more info on this you can go through this article...

  • PDF form from Excel spreadsheet/table

I am developing a process where folks enter data (all text) to a central spreadsheet, and someone uses Acrobat X to generate a form. The form needs checkboxes (one per table row), and a digital signature above the table. I'm running into a couple of issues:
    1) I am trying to automate the creation of checkboxes, so that whoever is generating the final PDF form does not need to add a checkbox for each row. I noticed that in Excel, in Develop mode, one can add checkboxes, and on my first try, the PDF form creator seemed to translate those automatically into PDF form checkboxes so that no extra manual step was needed. In my last few tries, the conversion no longer auto-converts checkboxes. Any tips on this?
    2) I also noticed that whereever there is blank space, the form creator inserts a text field. Even for table cells that have text in them, if there's any white space, presto, here comes a text field inserted into that very cell, usually named after the text already in the cell. Is there any way to avoid this?

Which version of Acrobat do you have? If X, then there should be an option
in your Excel to Mail Merge the spreadsheet, which is basically what you
describe. However, I'm not sure if it can also automatically email the
    files to the recipients.
I have developed a script that can do the merge, *and *automatically email
the file to each person. Have a look here for more info:
