SRM 6.0 and EP, where to deploy

Hi,
in a setup with SRM & Portal (Java+ABAP stack), which system would be the correct system to deploy Web Dynpro applications containing the new business packages for new SRM release? (currently SRM version 6.0) Would it be deployed on the SRM Web AS like BSP or on the Portal Web AS like WD for Java?

As you have already installed Java stack then it will be your EP. You don't need PI for SRM MDM.

The DBMS Server property defines the network identification string of the DBMS instance / machine / server that is used by the DBMSspecific client on the MDM Server machine to connect to the DBMS. The brand of DBMS on which the repository is running is shown in the DBMS Type property.

i have a reuirement where i have to add custom field in delivery address/performance location tab in SRM shopping cart and Ship to address Pop-up in SRM PO
i am doing below steps for this.
1. Adding custom field ZZfield in structure INCL_EEW_PD_PARTNER_CSF by using append structure.
2. Spro ->Supplier Relationship Management -> SRM Server -> Cross application basic settings -> Extensions and field controls (personalization) -> Configure field control ->Configure Control for Fields of Substructures
then click on "Metadata for Fields of Substructures and Table-Like Enhancements"
add the below entry
Bus. Object Set Type : I am trying 7 and 29
Structure Field Name : ZZfield
Bus. Object Type       : BUS2121/BUS2201
Set Level                    : Item
Field Visible : Check box should be checked
Field Enable : check box should be checked
Can anyone has the idea of this?

Please create a enchancement for component /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_DO_SHIPTO.
Add new input field and label in view V_DODC_SHIPTO.
Bind the input field value with field ZZfield from structure /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_DO_SHIPTO in the context node SHIP_TO .

SRM- Pucchase Order and Contract (backend) Tolerance failures

Using SRM 7 Extended classic scenario with ECC 6.0. Tolerances have been set up in ECC and SRM.
The Contract is raised in the backend and replicated into SRM.
In SRM, both PPOMA and Vendor groups have been assigned the correct TOG.
Raising a Shopping Cart that exceeds the Contract Target value, but it within the Tolerance, works fine. However, once the Shopping Cart is approved, the back end PO creation fails, leaving the SC status as Saved. A review of SLG1 says that the PO exceeded the Contract value and displays errors for both Quantity and Target Value.
Any ideas on where to investigate appreciated.

created PO successfully in ECC via ECC request
no PO created successfully in ECC via SRM request
give more data on sc /pr /contract data ( quantity or value contract) for better understanding

I'm having similar problems btu with repsect to SRM PO's against Contracts raised in the backend (replicated into SRM)
Our infrastructure -s SRM 7 Extended Classis Scenario and ECC 6.
I have tolerances setup in ECC and SRM and the TOG has been assigned in SRM Vendor Groups and in the HR Org Structure (PPOMA).
Tolerance are 5% up to $100.00
If I raise a Contract in ECC, and a PO (MM) in ECC, then the PO will work if I stay within the allowed tolerances.
When I raise a PO in SRM, the Shopping Cart is processed OK, but when the SC is approved, the backend PO is not created.
In the Shopping cart in Related Documents for document Purchase Order, the Satus is set to Saved. A review of SLG1 indicates error due to exceeding the quantity and the Target value.
Why are tolerances not being taken into consideration? How do I get this to work?

Where to deploy Web Service Proxy

I have built a web service proxy, now I need to decide where to deploy it. It will be invoked by an inegration process.
My choices are:
(1) Our main PI integration server. This is HA and UNIX based, and is the "big, robust" box with lots of resources.
(2) Our PI remote adapter engine. This is a lightweight Windows-based box that is not HA, used mainly for PI to access windows file shares.
I am assuming I should deploy to (1). But since this is where the integration process is running (which is the client to the web service proxy), is there any reason they should not be on the same box? I thought a read a help doc that said to not install a (web service? java?) proxy on the main integration server, but I can't find the reference now. Wasn't sure if a deadlock scenario was possible, like when one web service calls another web service on the same web server, and there is heavy load.

Although i do not have an exact answer, i'm just thinking out loud.
Since the integration processes run on the ABAP stack of the XI system and you would be deploying your webservice on the Java stack of the system, i do not foresee any dead lock situation as such.
ANyways, i will wait with you for the experts to comment.

SCCM and WSUS, where does it go?

Hi everyone, we are deploying SCCM to about 30 sites. We have a central server, primary, secondary servers, and distribution points. The question is where do I install WSUS? Do I need it on all the servers? I cant seem to find a good
answer.
And when I do deploy WSUS how should I hook it up? Should the secondary look at the primary as a distribution point? What about the distribution point servers? Do they need WSUS?

No, not really.
First, 1,000's of clients does not in any way mean you need a CAS. You only need a CAS if you have multiple primary sites and multiple primary sites are only called for (in 99% of the cases) if you have 100,000+ managed clients; i.e., way more
than 1,000's. Primary sites are about scale-out in terms of client count only, not location. Many (even 100's) of remote locations is not a valid technical reason to have a CAS and primary sites have nothing to do with remote locations either.
With a CAS in the picture, you must have a WSUS instance and SUP in your CAS and on each primary site. You can optionally have a WSUS instance and SUP on any secondary sites.
Without a CAS in the picture, the primary site must have a WSUS instance and SUP and any secondary sites can optionally have one also.
As mentioned, the WSUS instance and SUP at secondary sites are optional depending upon the bandwidth limitations and client count at the location being served by the secondary site. WSUS instance at secondary sites are downstream (in WSUS terms)
from the WSUS instance at the primary site they are a child of for catalog sync purposes only.
Clients assigned to a primary site will use the WSUS instance for that primary site unless they are within the scope of a secondary site that also has a WSUS instance and SUP. WSUS instances at a CAS are never used by clients -- they simply are upstream
(in WSUS terms) from the WSUS instances at the primary sites for catalog sync purposes.
In general, you should not use a domain GPO to configure the WSUS instance for the clients to use. This is set automatically on the clients using a local GPO by the ConfigMgr agent. Depending upon your scenario, you can set this, but it must match what
the ConfigMgr agent wants or Software Updates will be disabled on the client.
WSUS instances integrated in ConfigMgr only handle the update metadata/catalog (and EULAs) -- they do not handle the update binaries (as mentioned above those are handled by the DPs in ConfigMgr). Thus, clients must still be able to communicate with the
proper WSUS instance (per the paragraph above) to download/access the update catalog (and EULAs).

SRM MDM Installation and Configuration

Hi,
I have been asked to install/configure SRM MDM. Ive gone through lot of documentation on SAP service marketplace and am struggling to understand the components I need to install.
I have SRM system already installed and the customer wants to use SRM MDM 5.5.
I was going through the Architecture guide and what I understood from it is that I will have to install the MDM 5.5 Server, clients, a database and a WAS. Now that SMR is already in place do I still have to install WAS on the MDM system ? will the MDM sever use the SRM systems WAs and database ?

Hi Hasnain,
MDM is a "stand-alone" component. You do not need a separate WAS.
You need a database instance (the usual SAP supported Databases work) and the MDM Software.
The MDM Client Software (Import Manager, Console, Clix, Workflow, Data Manager) must run on Windows Client. As far as I know the MDM Server can also run on Unix.
For searching the MDM Catalog you need a SAP J2EE (Java) Instance. If you have a EP running this will work for the beginning.

The first thing I would suggest is for you to go to the folder containing your catalog, using your system browser. There will be a folder that has the extension .lrdata. Delete that folder, and then try to start Lightroom. If that doesn't work, replace your catalog with your most recent backup.

I have run into a peculiar problem with the Safari browser on mobile platforms (IPad, IPod, IPhone) which I hope I can find a solution for in this community.

On this particular product, the product variants are supposed to work in such a way where:
If you select the value "1/8" from the "Choose Ribbon Width" field
THEN
The only options active and available to choose from in the "Choose Roll Size" field should be: 500 Yds, 20 Yds & Sample Swatch
Now, if we browse to the above link in Safari using a desktop or a laptop, there are no problems at all, but if we browse to the above link using an IPhone or an Ipad, then we have a problem where all the options are available regardless of the values chosen, basically the above functonality does not work.

That's not how to do it. You don't move stuff then set the iTunes prefs > Advanced.
Once you move the /iTunes/ folder, hold Option, launch iTunes and select Choose library... and select the ITunes folder on the external.
This will use the iTunes library file in the iTunes folder you moved.
Don't change iTunes prefs > Advanced.

iDVD can only use your startup hard disk for the "scratch space" it needs for calculations during the encoding process. 25 GB is a good average requirement, but a large project (3 or 4 hours of content) might require more.
To free up space, you will have to move items to an external hard drive and/or delete items you no longer want.
Please note that iDVD can't use and external hard drive for this "scratch space".
