SRM - SUS on two different hardware

Dear All,
We use SRM 5.0 (SRM server 5.5) and SRM-SUS (SRM server 5.5) on two different servers.  This is because of security reasons.
Purchasers access the internal server, suppliers access ONLY the server running SUS.
How is it possible that (what is the best practice):
1.) A purchaser creates a bid invitation, and this bid invitation automatically appears in the SUS system. Note that the link to the inner SRM system is not acceptable.
2.) Also the bid replied by a supplier in SUS should appear automatically in the inner SRM.
3.) Live Auction initiated in the inner SRM should run in the SUS as well.
4.) Master data maintained primarly in the inner system, it should be replicated too (vendor, product, product category).
Thanks in advance for every help.

  • Can two different SRM clients systems connect to one R/3 Back-end system?

    Hello,
Trying to developing SRM Co-Exist/Global strategy, based on the following scenario:
    1.  Two different SRM client systems, each at DIFFERENT SRM Version/Release Level.  SRM system "A" runs in Stand-Alone and Extend Classic Scenario mode.  SRM system "B" runs in Classic Scenario mode
    2.  Two different R/3 back-end systems, each with SAME R/3 4.7 Version/Release Level.
Question 1:  Can the two (2) different SRM client systems be connected to one (1) of the R/3 back-end systems?
Question 2:  Are there any Basis Plug-In (PI_BASIS) issues/difficulties to consider from either the SRM client or R/3 back-end side?
Question 3:  Does each SRM client need it own unique transaction document type(s) and number range(s) definitions?
Question 4:  Are there any other difficulties, for example, with RFC and Partner Profile related definitions and what are the steps to address/resolve difficulties?
Please advise and thanks in advance for your feedback!

    They can be connected
Question 2: Are there any Basis Plug-In (PI_BASIS) issues/difficulties to consider from either the SRM client or R/3 back-end side?
Make sure that you have unique consumer entries for Middleware for Material replication, RFCs etc
Question 3: Does each SRM client need it own unique transaction document type(s) and number range(s) definitions?
Yes you need to have them.
Question 4: Are there any other difficulties, for example, with RFC and Partner Profile related definitions and what are the steps to address/resolve difficulties?
Don't see any difficulties as long as the a structured approach is followed.

  • SRM SUS using PI in Extended Classic Scenario

    Hi SRM Gurus,
We are in SRM 5.0 ,extended classic scenrio and plan to implement SUS for PO create/Change,PO response and
ASN.We plan to use PI for this integration and as per Note 573383 our IT team plans to use two different client
(one for EBP) and other for SUS.Does anyone have a config guide for this scenario??
In this scenario what all configuration are to be done on SRM(EBP) side??Do I need to configure PO/PO response and ASN  number ranges for SUS?
Do I need to create a new vendor org structure in SUS client so that I can replicate SRM/EBP vendor to SUS??
What all settings are to be done on PI side.
Any help/documentation  in this direction would be appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Priya

    few answers to your questions
    1) what is the release of SRM  you want to work with?
    2) services in SUS is not available as standard , and will be provided by SAP as consulting up on request.
    3) for hardware requirements , please refer to the master guide for the srm release you will be working on -->
and also you can refer to the software component matrix in master guide --> to see if any component is mandatory..
    4) XI and MDM as far as i know is mandatory for SRM 6.0 and above , But in SRM 5.0 , XI is compulsory.
    5) so xi is mandatory in anyway in SUS as different systems are involved and therefore is required for routing the documents correctly.
    6) time for installation again depends on your supplier base , and your level of expertise.
    7) it is not always recommended to compare between two different systems , R/3 and SUS are different and so functionality will not be the same
    8) but as far as i know R/3 is stronger functioanlly..

  • SRM-SUS for Service Entry Sheets - Classic Scenario

    Hi SRM Gurus,
Our client wants to use SRM-SUS for the Service Entry Sheets (to being with and then later expand more in other SRM areas). The lead system will be R/3 system.
We will be going with ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0.
Service Order will be created in R/3 and replicated into SRM (SAP have said this is new functionality in SRM 2007 and SAP will provide us with this functionality in SRM 5.0 as well)
SAP are also recommending using MDM for hosting the catalogs for service entry sheets to enable vendors to selete their items during the confirmation / filling the service entry sheets. - they say this is mandatory
SAP are also asking for XI for the data to be transferred from R/3 to SRM (and may be vice versa) - they say this is mandatory.
    Few questions:
    1) What kind of hardware size are we talking about to have SRM-SUS, MDM, XI and Portal (PI)
    2) Are MDM and XI mandatory as said by SAP and if yes, in what scenarios. What is they way around
    3) How good is the functionality provided by SRM-SUS for Services? Is it as good as in R/3 (or even better)? We will be having complex Services in our scnearios.
    4) What can be a typical time to install SRM-SUS, MDM, XI and Portal in the Dev environment to get moving onto the project?
An early response shall be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Rahul

  • SRM SUS CLIENT

    Hi,
What are the pros and cons of having SRM-SUS insatlled in one box to those installed in differnt box. What is the criteria for deciding wether to go for one box or seperate box installation.
In my previous project the only reason we went for 2 Box was security concern is there any technical reason for 2 box
have seen the OSS note 573383 which gives some idea about pros and cons of installing SRM-SUS in one client in one BOX only.
    Regards

    Hi,
the client is the main difference. Several boxes are mainly a matter of money in terms of Hardware as well Maintenance. I am not sure it that would also count as two different implementations and therefore more license costs. Implementation means to set up basically two SRM systems, where one becomes a SRM Baby and the other the SUS Baby. A bit more effort.
For the pro side the same like for the clients count. SUS can be maintained separately as well security does not get a headache cause external users can be hold more easily in front of the firewall.
    These are my two cents.

    Claudia

  • EDI Standard used in SRM-SUS for Purchaser - Vendor Document Exchange?

    Hi Forum,
For exchange of electronic documents like ASN, PO, PO Response, Confirmations etc. between buyer and seller, which EDI standard is used in SRM-SUS?
Say there are two different vendors one from North America using ANSI X 12 as EDI Standard and other from Europe using EDIFACT, how is the document exchange handled for these two different seller / edi standard in same SUS system?
    Thanks,
    Anubhav

    Hi,
I am not sure what standard SAP uses, but it is not really relevant. At least not for the SUS scenarios. The IDOCs from ECC will be sent to the PI system which will convert them to XML format and send it to the SUS system. Since both PI and ECC system are from SAP, they will speak the same EDI standard for sure.
For SUS we have two scenarios, SRM-SUS and MM-SUS. In SRM-SUS the PO is created in an SRM system locally and sent to SUS. All communication will take place between these two system via XML messages on both sides (of course a PI system is mandatory in this case as well).
In the MM-SUS scenario the PO will be created in ECC and transferred to SUS. Depending on ECC release there are two different possibilities for this, either the ECC system sends EDI IDOCs or it sends XML messages directly. IDOCs will be mapped to XML by PI in all cases, as the SUS system will always receive and send XML messages only.

  • Differences b/w ICH & SRM SUS

    Hi SAP experts,
I would like to know the differences between SRM SUS & SCM ICH. Both are supplier collaboration systems bundled in two different solutions.
To my knowledge the only difference is, the inventory levels are seen in case of SCM ICH , but whereas in SRM SUS its not possible.
Experts please throw some light on this.
    Thanking you in anticipation.
    Vasudevan

    Hi
    <u><b>Please go through this -></b></u>
    <b>SAP Inventory Collaboration Hub (ICH)</b>
    <u>
ICH is the supplier collaboration element covering tigher collaboration processes,
like forecasting, kanban, order management; it supports the production process,
but for e.g. does not cover invoicing. it is different than SUS, which focus
on small suppliers without any systems inhouse and only offers order managmt.
It depends on the environment, if you need SUS or / and ICH.
In longterm the SUS functionalities are planned to be integrated into ICH forming
a new product called Supply Network Collaboration offering all collaborative
processes.</u> - ICH is part of the SCM Suite as well found under Collaboratio Suite
    - Installed on a separate Box; from SCM perspective it also makes sense to
separate APO and ICH; nevertheless SCM is a one client environment, like BW
    - Documents are available via SCM and Solution Manager; search in the
    Marketplace
Please find some info "ICH" in the SAP Service Marketplace. ICH is Inventory Collaboration Hub, Supplier Managed Inventory.
    <b>http://service.sap.com</b>
    <u><b>SRM SUS</b></u>
<u>SRM SUS can and should be used for Indirect material procurement. mySAP SRM provides a fantastic solution for transferring Purchase Orders from EBP to SUS for indirect materials and service items.
If you wish to integrate MM-SUS (which is primarily intended for direct materials) then you will have to use Classic Scenario. But then you will lose all Sourcing functionality in SRM.
ICH/SNC is intended for direct materials only. It does not support free text items or items bought for cost centers.
The ICH Purchase Order process is also intended for small suppliers - this is not a difference between ICH and SUS.
But ICH is only intended for purchase orders with a material.
Therefore the scenario is a deciding factor.
For indirect materials you are probably doing some purchase orders without materials, and these purchase orders can not be handled within ICH.
If you have only purchase orders with material items ICH can definitely be considered - and it is the tool for the future. A drawback of ICH is the master data complexity and this should be considered/evaluated before choosing ICH.</u>

  • Waking from sleep requires Forced Shut Down on two different g4 iBooks

    Two different iBooks, a 12" 1.33 and a 14" 1.42 . Same behaviour on both iBooks.
Each is running 10.4.4, Each has 1g RAM. Neither have any unusual third party software or hacks. Both exhibited this behaviour prior to 10.4.4, and both had 10.4.2 as the original install, then 10.4.3.
Both go to sleep after three hours, display is set not to turn off before then. They will operate properly for days at a time, but approximately once or twice per week they will have gone to sleep normally, the white light blinking. I'll tap the keyboard to wake up, and the white light will stop blinking but nothing else happens. The cd drives don't make their usual start up racket, nor does the hard drive or fan spin up. Only doing a "Forced Shut Down" by holding down the power button and then restarting will bring either one of them back to life.
I have already Reset the PMU several times over the past 6 months with no change in behaviour. I have also reset the PRAM on both units sucesfully, however that also has not changed the behaviour.
Were this happening on only one iBook, I'd consider it a fluke, but having it happen on both a 12" and a 14", and having read of the others with the same isssue leads me to believe that it is not a unique issue, and is either a hardware or software flaw. Since the advice in every one of these complaints has been rest the PMU and Reset the PRAM, and since this has failed to correct the situation, I'm curious as to whether there is anyone on thes Forums that has knowledge of the problem and a proper fix.
As the issue is truly random and can not be duplicated on demand by manually putting the machine to sleep the "geniuses" have as yet not provided a solution. All I would like is an acknowledgement that there is an issue and that there is hopefully a fix in the works. Even just an acknowledgement that, "it sometimes happens" would be helpful.
Sorry for the long rant, but I keep seeing the same issue brought up over and over again, with the same non-solutions. Any other suggestions or clues would be very much appreciated.
    ibook G4 1.33ghz 12, 1.42ghz 14   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Nothing, No one..... So out of the hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions, of iBooks sold in the past year, I somehow managed to snag the only 2 that display this problem. Those odds are staggering. A 12" 1.3G4 and a 14" 1.42G4, purchased two months apart. Both in the original factory state, and they both display the same sleep issue, and yet somehow this is unique to my experience.
The sarcasm is intended, and after having to do a forced restart, and then wasting an hour running tech tools to make sure there are no disk issues for the third time this week, this is getting old. I'm not asking anyone for a magical fix, all I'd like is confirmation that the issue is being investigated and will hopefully, eventually be resolved.
    Thank you......

  • How to sort two different hierarchies in one dimension

Does anyone know of a way to sort two different hierarchies in one dimension and still make drilling work correctly? We have two hierarchies in our item dimension; one called category and the other origin. Simplified, it looks like this:
    CATEGORY
    Hardware (100)
    ..PCs (100.100)
    ....PC 1
    ....PC 2
    ....PC 3
    ..Monitors (100.200)
    ....Monitor 1
    ....Monitor 2
    ....Monitor 3
    Software (200)
    ..Big (200.100)
    ....ERP package
    ....CRM package
    ..Small (200.200)
    ....Solitaire
    ....Mine Sweeper
    ORIGIN
    Vendor A (10)
    ..Site A1 (10.10)
    ....ERP package
    ..Site A2 (10.20)
    ....PC 1
    ....Monitor 3
    Vendor B (20)
    ..Site B1 (20.10)
    ....PC 2
    ....PC 3
    ....Monitor 1
    ....Monitor 2
    ....Solitaire
    ....Mine Sweeper
    ..Site B2 (20.20)
    ....CRM package
We have numeric codes at each level above item which I represents the sort order (the number in parentheses at each level), and the items themselves should be sorted according to item number. I have implemented this (level code/item number) as an attribute in AWM making this the default sort order. However, as item is the lowest level in each hierarchy, I have only been able to list the items under the correct level in one hierarchy. As soon as I drill using the other hierarchy, the levels above item are sorted correctly, but the items appear at very odd places...
The AWM documentation states that if default order is not selected on any attribute, hierarchies are sorted in the order they are created. Is there a way to control this order?
Any input will be greatly appreciated!

thank you for your answer. Yes, now I also find the class CL_SALV_WD_MULTI_CELL_EDITOR which could be used to set different UIE in one cell. But it is quite limited, just the following UIE could be used

  • How can I get the program to recognize two different types of thermocouples?

I am using a PCI-4351 card with a TBX-68T terminal block. I was having trouble writing and finding a program that would give me more than one reading/sec. I found a program on the NI website called "435x_logger_triggering", and so far it is the only program that I have found that will actually collect data at 60 Hz. Unfortunately, this program only lets you specify one mode for your thermocouples. This is a problem because we are using two thermocouples, one is type K and the other is a type R, so we get bad readings from one of the thermocouples depending on which mode it is set on. I would like to know how I can program in a seperate mode for each channel in this program. Un
fortunately, some of the sub VI's in this program are password protected, so I don't know if this is possible. Everything is entered correctly in the Measurement and Automation explorer, so that isn't the problem. I will attach a copy of the program that I am using. I have modified it slightly from the one I got off the NI website, so that the thermocouple readings have a time stamp and are saved to disk. Any assistance you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Jordan,
You should be able to sample two different thermocouples in the example that ships with the 435x driver called "Getting Started with multiple tranducers Continous". Simply put each type of thermocouple in a different index . Each index of the Transducer Group Array can have a different type and specify the channels that correspond to that type.
One way that you can speed this VI up is to place a wait inside of the while loop. This will reduce the number of times the software polls the card if it has available data(increasing the overhead). I would suggest about 500 ms. The data that you receive will all have the same delta t because the sampling clock is hardware driven not software, so it does matter when the data is polled.
    You will not be
able to get 60 samples per second when you are measuring multiple channels anyway. The sample rate for multiple channels is about 9/(# channels). This is explained in the 435x Users Manual.
I looked at your code and noticed that you tried to change some of the enumeration controls. Unfortunately you will not be able to change these because they are password protected on the low level subVIs, which is where they are defined.
The way you select if you want the notch filter is in the 435x Config you specify fast or slow. If it is slow then it will select 10Hz as the nitch filter. If you select fast the it will select either 50 or 60Hz You would then use the function "435x Set power line frequency"
    Good luck,
    Mike

  • SRM-SUS - Extended Classic - Purchase Order Response

    Hi folks,
We are using SRM-SUS in an Extended Classic scenario in SRM 5.0.  When the Vendor creates a Purchase Order Response (POR) we want the Requisitioner of the Shopping Cart (not the Purchaser from the Purchase Order) to process the POR in EBP.
We will add the transaction Process Purchase Reponse to the Requisitioner role.  We want to ensure that the Requisitioner can only see PORs related to Purchase Orders created from the Requisitioner's individual Shopping Carts.
Has anybody any suggestions and/or see obstacles in our way?
    Cheers,
    Pat

    Hi Pat,
This is certainly not standard. I see the following challenges:
    a. From the system perspective, your Shoppers will need to be assigned to purchasing group(s) in Org Structure to see the related PORs. That's very unusual, and consequences can be unpredictable.
    b. From the internal controls / business process / security perspective, you may be creating some SOD (segregation of duties) issues.
IMHO, your business requirement needs to be re-visited. My two cents...
    Cheers,
    Serguei

  • SRM-SUS Scenerio Replicating company code and suppliers to SUS via XI

We have configured SRM-SUS scenario.  We have SRM and SUS on the same system but different clients.  We have configured extended classic scenario.  We are on SRM 2007 with SP5
    Issue:
When I execute transaction BBP_SP_COMP_INI I get no errors.  I check SXMB_MONI in my SUS client and it has processed correctly.  However it does not update table BBP_SUS_BPCMPMAP.  I check SLG1 in SRM and SUS and get messages that data replicated.
When I execute transaction BBP_SP_SUPP_INI to move the SRM suppliers to SUS I check SXMB_MONI and everything processed correctly.  However, when I check table VENMAP there are no entries.
I then create a PO and send to SUS.  I get the following error:
Error in an XI interface: No partner found for partner number VNDR_ACCT_ Program: SAPLBBP_BD_VALUE_MAPPING; Include: LBBP_BD_VALUE_MAPPINGF11; Line: 436
When we debug the proxy it is trying to validate our SRM company code (VNDR_ACCT) in table BBP_SUS_BPCMPMAP which is empty.
It appears that SUS is not allowing the creation of external partners.  Does SRM to SUS transfers utilize the BP number range table which distinguishes external and internal BPs which is used when replicating suppliers between ECC and SRM.
Has anyone ever encountered this issue before?
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Joe

    Hello Nikhil:
I think my issue is that the XI proxys' are not being updated in SUS.  It appears to me that it is similar to when you are executing BBPGETVD between ECC and SUS (MM-SUS) and the BP number range in SUS is not set to accept external BPs.
So, When I execute BBP_SP_SUPP_INI and send SRM suppliers to SUS how does it know the VG5XXXXXXX.  When I replicate BBPGETVD I tell the VG5XXXXXXXX.  I did configure the "Managing Business Partners" SUS configuration but we are not using supplier registration so I do not have URL for UM or Notification.  I did update the "Central Vendor Group" , "Default Purchase Org", and "Currency".  Does XI use this setting to know where to assign the vendors or is there another piece of configuration I missed?
What I did to create the entry in table BBP_SUS_BPCMPMAP is I executed transaction BBP_SUS_BP_ADM and entered in the "Company Code" field the BP from my SRM system assigned to my ECC backend company code .  In the log sys field I entered the log sys of my SRM cleint.  I then completed the other required fields.  In the end it created the following entry:
    101    4CF3AE33A6036B71E10000000AF8EF08 ERACLNT100 0001       0000000018
Client 100 is SRM and 101 is SUS.
I am able to configure SUS for MM_SUS and replicate suppliers and company code from ECC to SUS.  However, this does not use XI.  For thois reason I think my issue is a missing piece of config to tell XI where to create external business partners?
When I check the payload of my SRM PO it does not show the company code but uses BP 18 which is the SRM BP for my backend company code.  When I check BBP_PD for this PO in SRM it has my company code as "BE CO_ CODE"
Do you have any more suggestions?
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Joe

  • SRM SUS Supplier operating in more countries?

    Hi all.
    SRM SUS 7.0
We are implementing SRM SUS, and my question is quite simple: A vendor that in ECC has more than 1 purchasing organization, how can I distinguish among those in SUS so that not all contact persons are receiving the PO?
I would expect to simply use either the purchasing org or company code, but the organizational setup for SUS is so limited, that the EKORG og BUK are not even considered.
Supplier ABC operates in EKORG 1 and 2; with 1 overall SAP vendor number. That's standard. In SUS the supplier is created in the PPOMV_BBP with no respect to BUK, and EKORG is not even a parameter/an attribute you can use while creating the vendor org units. When the supplier is replicated to SUS, it is created in PPOMV_BBP. Then you create a contact person in SUS to let SRM know who to send the PO for this vendor number to. However, the contact person does - again - not take either BUK or EKORG into consideration.
I can only see that if you use SAP ECC with 1 overall vendor number for multiple purchasing organizations, then SUS will not be able to distinguish and send the "New PO in SUS" info to the right contact persons, since there seem to be no organizational setup for SRM SUS...
I hope I am overlooking something simple, so any input is valid!

    Hi Sam.
Thanks for the input. However, what you state is not accurate for our scenario at least. In MN04 we simply control the output conditions in ECC - however, for our MM-SUS implementation given our current ECC/SRM releases, we use XML out from ECC and into SRM again; not regular output conditions.
And my issue is still the following:
    Functional scenario:
Supplier called ABC operationg in 2 countries but with 1 overall vendor number
Contact Person 1 created for vendor; this is in pur org 200
Contact Person 2 created for vendor; this is in pur org 300
Contact 1 should only see POs in pur org 200 in SUS; Contact 2 should only see POs in pur org 300 in SUS.
In ECC, this would be vendor ABC and create him in the 2 different pur orgs; no problem. In SUS, however, the vendor master (or BP) does not use the purchasing org in any case. And when creating the contact person in SUS for the overall vendor ABC, there is no org maintenance either. Therefore, all POs from ECC to SUS will be sent to both contact 1 and 2 because SUS does not seem to know how to handle 1 vendor number with multiple purchasing organizations.
This sounds strange to me! Any other input?

  • SRM - SUS no transaction committed

We are implementing ECC to SUS for Direct Materiall and SRM - SUS for indirect Material.  ECC to SUS is working for all processes ( Vendor replication, PO, SAR, PO confirmation, ASN, Invoice).
SRM- SUS is not working. XML is send successfully from SRM to SUS but no transaction is committed. SRM and SUS are on same server but different Client.

    Hi Jigar
What is the status of XML messages in SRM. Are the messages processed in your SRM Client.
      Which transaction is not committed?
