  • Subtitles of the video wouldn't show up when I embed subtitles through track tag in html code

    Used these two lines in <video> tag
    source src="Game.of.Thrones.S02E03.HDTV.x264-ASAP.What.Is.Dead.May.Never.Die.mp4" type="video/mp4"
    track kind="subtitles" src="Game of Thrones - 2x03 - What Is Dead May Never Die.720p HDTV.IMMERSE.en.srt"

    I'm assuming you already have the subtitle file.
    Here's something that might help.
    **I'm not a developer so just try it out.**
    A little tip: Rename your .srt and .mp4 to gameofthrones.mp4 and gameofthrones.srt respectively to make it easier.
    Your original code is: <br />
    <br />
    ''source src="Game.of.Thrones.S02E03.HDTV.x264-ASAP.What.Is.Dead.May.Never.Die.mp4" type="video/mp4"<br />
    <br />
    ''track kind="subtitles" src="Game of Thrones - 2x03 - What Is Dead May Never Die.720p HDTV.IMMERSE.en.srt"''
    However, try changing to the things in bold: (''with rename of files of course'')
    source src="gameofthrones.mp4" type=video/mp4"<br />
    <br />
    '''track src="gameofthrones.srt" kind="subtitle" srclang="en-US" label="English'''
    Try that out. Again, I'm not a developer.

  • Is it possible to combine Mp4 with a SRT file using Handbrake in such as way as to be able to view on appletv3?

    Hi All,
    I have a Mp4 file and a corresponding SRT file that I wish to combine and then wach through AppleTv3.  I have handbrake as my tool for preparing video for the appleTV (through Itunes).
    I've tried to "add External SRT" but I can't seem to get teh "Burned in" button to accept a click - maybe this is not needed anyway.  I don't care if the subtitles are permanently on the screen - it's in danish so I will never watch it without the subtitles on.
    Any help appreciated.
    Regards
    Andy

    There is a website, whose name escapes me ( I am at work ) which people submit to in a variety of languages and various formats such as Extended Cut, Directors Cut etc so that you have no need to mess about with them, just add them. Also, as I said above, some are just for non-English parts so don't show subtitles if the dialogue is in English.
    Edit: found it. I use http://subscene.com/

  • How to use SRT file with MP4

    I want to use soft subtitles with video so I still have the option to play them without subtitles if I wish. How can I enable QuickTime Player to play MP4 with soft subtitles SRT extension? I can play AVI with subtitles in QuickTime (QT doesn't have codecs for AVI, duh, but I installed Perian to overcome that weakness). I can export the MP4 as AVI, but when I do, the result looks terrible. It seems QuickTime cannot correctly export MP4 to AVI. I can play MP4 with SRT subtitles in VLC Player, but the subtitles don't have decent shading to make them readable, like they do in QuickTime Player. Because of that, I want to find a solution for using MP4 with SRT in QuickTime Player. Any suggestions?

    The reason you see SRT soft subtitles in AVIs is because it's the Perian component that's drawing subtitles. QuickTime itself has no capability to read any external subtitle files. When you open up a MP4 file, Apple's own codecs kick in, and not Perian; therefore, you don't see any subtitles.
    There's not a lot you can do:
    1. You can wait for Apple to implement SRT support. I wouldn't hold my breath.
    2. You can talk to/beg/threaten the Perian developers and see what they can do. Note that this feature request is already filed in 2007 ( http://trac.perian.org/ticket/56 ), and they haven't acted on the request for three years.
    3. You can extract the video and audio tracks from the container and put it in a Perian-compatible container. MKV is the best option for this, I think. Note that you do not want to directly export your video to a new format, or to re-encode the tracks -- that will cost you quality. You need to find a program that lets you extract the MP4/AAC/whatever tracks from the container and remux them into a different container, such as MKV or AVI. If you can get Perian to handle the video, rather than Apple's default decoders, you'll get the SRT in QuickTime Player.
    4. You can use a different player. Honestly, I agree you with that most of the alternative players out there have absolutely atrocious user interfaces (I'm looking at ya, VLC). In the end, though, I just want to watch the video, and not fight with various video/audio formats.

  • What is the best way to create an MP4 (.M4V) that will play with forced subtitles in iTunes, Apple TV, and all iOS devices?

    I've begun ripping my blu rays to digital format so I can store them on my NAS and access them from any device. Movies without subtitles work great, I simply use MP4 passthrough and all is well. I'm having issues with videos that have forced subtitles. I'm assuming I need to mux the video, audo and subtitle streams into an .M4V. I'm not sure how to do this. What format must the subtitle be in? SRT, AAS? Will Subler work?
    My intention is that have the subtitles show no matter what. I don't want to fiddle with enabling them and disabling them. I want to watch the movie in itunes or an iOS device and have the subtitles show up without doing anything.

    cmanion wrote:
    They are blu rays purchased before the advent of digital copies being included.  What do you suggest I do? Repurchase the movies I already own?
    We cannot help you on this board. What you ask is illegal to do in the United States. As Lyssa says, "You will have to search elsewhere for help." However, purchasing the movies from the iTunes Store is a legal option.

  • How do i add a subtitle file to a supported video file for ipad without converting the video.  (.mp4)??

    I have a downloaded movie in .mp4 format an i success fully added it to itunes.
    But before adding it to my ipad i have an .srt file subtitles which i would like to add it to the movie.
    I want to add it to movie without converting the movie.
    Can i copy the content of the subtitle file to the lyrics tab in get info option to make it work?

    Nevermind. In the iTunes Area I can drag and drop tunes onto the iTunes playlist I made, but NO I can't drag and drop to a synced list in the iPhone area of iTunes. Reason is that it only represents the list I sync to in iTunes.
    I did download a Doug Script where I can add files from one play list to another which is neat. Donated some cash for it.

The DLNA client is your smart TV or other DLNA device/software/app that contacts the WD My Cloud (Twonky media server) to stream the media content. The timed SRT file contents will have text that looks like this:265
    00:19:32,400 --> 00:19:35,080
    Sorokin wants to meet you now. 266
    00:19:50,840 --> 00:19:52,041
    Ten minutes.Occasionally the SRT files from online SRT sites are not properly formed (or created) and as such the DLNA client will not recognize and play the file alongside the MP4 (or other formatted) video file. Sorry my bad. I connect it to my LG Smartv directly. I'll check if the srt files are formed correctly, as soon as i get home.

  • Add iPod subtitles to a mp4 video?

    I have some mp4 format movies on my PC with *.srt subtitles for them, so i want these videos on my iPod with these subtitles. I know how to merge the subtitles to the video, but I want to know how to add subtitles to a video that can be switched on or off at the time video plays on the iPod. Do any one know how to do it?

    It haves the option to add subtitles, but then won't work, this is very common
    And the standard edition of mediacoder doesn't create compatible videos with ipod, but mediacoder ipodtouch/iphone edition does it
    I read something about subtitles must be converted in "line-21" format, but nobody knows more about it.
    other way is to force subtitles into the video(embed them within the encoded video). Anybody knows how to do it?

  • Add fixed .SRT subtitles to a video?

    Hi guys.
    Is there a way i can add a subtitle .srt or any other format (fixed) to a movie using premiere elements 8?
    I really need that feature!
    thanks

    Thanks for the reply.
    Um using right now two softwares.
    Cyberlink Power Director Ultra 8 and Premiere Elements 8.
    Cyberlink Power Director Ultra 8 supports it, but doesnt support Italic or Bold the .srt file must be edited before use it.
    I burned lots of mp4s with embedded subtitles on it.
    Since i have problems using both due to shared files used by them, gonna uninstall APE8.
    Sorry Adobe maybe next time!
    Thanks.

  • How can I convert video with srt subtitles?

    If I have an avi plus an .srt subtitles file, how can I convert this to play on the iPad?
    If, on my iMac, I use Quicktime, I can save the avi as .mov with hard subs.  But when I convert this .mov to mp4, the subtitles disappear.

    Why go to all the trouble of converting? Why not just download an app that can play .avi files with subtitle support?

  • No SRT subtitles via DLNA on Samsung ue48js9000 with my book live 4TB

    Hi,I just bought the new Samsung ue48js9000 uhd and cannot play SRT subtitles via DLNA / Network (tried cable and Wifi) with WD my book live 4TB. Embebed subtitles in MKV play ok. SRT subtitles play ok if connected via USB drive to OCB. With other TV's at home SRT subtitles play fine via DLNA / Network (Samsung F7000 and D6500). FW Versions are (latest I can find by 30.JUL.2015):Samsung JS900: 1214WD My Cloud: v04.01.04-422DLNA Media Server (Twonky): 7.2.9_7.5.0-43  Tried to rebuid database and configurations on the twonky access port :9000 with different settings for the TV with no differente results (Generic Media Receiver, Samsung TV, ...) - note that it defaults do "Samsung Smart TV" which I beleive to be ok. Any help would be appreciated. Best regards,

Only doesn't have subtitles with this new uhd TV js9000 via dlna/network.If the older Samsung sets (2013 f7000 and 2011 d6500) properly display SRT subtitle files via DLNA from the WD My Cloud, that would indicate a problem with your new Samsung JS9000 TV and its built in DLNA client software/application. If this is the case then you should contact Samsung to see if there is a firmware or app update for your TV. Otherwise about the only other suggestion I have at the moment, if the SRT files display properly on other devices that access the WD My Cloud, is to check the Twonky Server settings on the WD My Cloud to see how the Twonky server is treating your TV in the "Media Receiver Type" field under Sharing -> Media Receiver. If the value for "Media Receiver Type" is something other than "Samsung TV" or "Samsung Smart TV" then you may have to change the value and test to see if it fixes the issue. For more information on how to access the Twonky Server on the WD My Cloud see the following WD Support link: How to access the Twonky Media Server on a WD NAS

  • I want to add subtitles (srt files) to my movies ....

    I want to add subtitles (srt files) to my movies and watched by apple TV. If I upgrade to QTPro 7 can I burn the subtitles to my movies (mkv, avi and mp4 files).

    If I move to QTPro can I recode the file?
    I use to have mkv, avi and mp4 files and the srt file for different languaje subtitles.

    I also have the need to add subtitles to video files.
    One of my friends show me a step by step guide on how to add subtitles to MKV, MP4 at How to Add .srt, .ssa,.sub, .idx Subtitles to MKV Files

  • Will Encore let me write DVDs with sidecar (e.g. SRT) subtitle options?

    I am considering a Creative Cloud membership in order to use Encore but I'm not sure if it can do what I need.
    I need to write a DVD, or more specifically, the necessary image files from which DVDs can be written.
    The DVDs need menus with chapter options and options to toggle subtitles on/off.
    Does Encore work with .SRT files or if not what sidecar subtitle options are there?
    Thanks.

    There are three options (all called "scripts") for bringing subtitles into Encore, but (I think) they all get baked into the DVD structure as overlays that are basically images.
    Text file scripts often have issues of  font, formatting, etc. Image files avoid many of these.
    Adobe Encore * Subtitle scripts
    The issue I see for you is that you will have to downrez and recompress the mp4s for DVD. It is better to export the DVD files from the editing software or a lossless intermediate.
