Staging area for Management Agent files...?

Sorry for another question so quickly - I am reading the documentation first!
Management agents upload files to the OMS server, and these are parsed and loaded as data into the MR database, right?
Where is the staging area for these files (upload from all the management agents)? Is it possible to change it? From what I can gather it's
https://oms_server:1159/em/upload - but where is this in the real world? I've searched the OMS $ORACLE_HOME, but can't find any uploaded files
The reason for these questions is because we have a requirement to load these files to a shared area so that both our OMSes can access them - has anyone come across a configuration like this before? Does it work?
Many thanks (again!)
D

The upload area on the OMS would normally be <OMS_HOME>/sysman/recv.
You still might find no data files over here, as they may be uploaded to the OMS on that moment.
Yes, making this directory a shared location ,will work when running multiple OMS.

  • Open module for managing property file and environment variables

Looking for an open module for managing property files and environment variables (like CLASSPATH) set in a shell script. For handeling properties (preserving comments, supporting includes, appending new entries, and more) I have looked at SuperProperties from openadaptor but find certain functionality lacking. As for interfacing with common shell scripts/files containing setting for CLASSPATH, JAVA_HOME, other system/application variables another type of object editor is needed. Maybe JFIG?
    Any ideas are greatly welcomed.

You seem wright, you hit a brick wall here with Air to find the location
of the command console on windows...
So in fact I never build an exe tool, but this little problem was a nice
case to test it and I tried it.:
    I downloaded monodevelop
    -GTK# for .NET 2.12.10*
    -MonoDevelop 2.4.2*
       from http://monodevelop.com/Download
created a console project and had an exe in 5 minutes !
You can download the findconsole tool and the projectfiles here:
       http://greencollective.nl/temp/dump/findconsole_monoproject.zip
findconsole.exe will reveal the path/location of cmd.exe on a windows system.

  • Best practices for managing jar files

just wondering what anyone's thoughts are on managing jar files. I have read that instead of adding the jar files to your CLASSPATH environment variable, you can just extend the jdk. This is accomplished by inserting the jar files into the C:\jdk1.3.1_01\jre\lib\ext directory. I suspect that if the latter option is truly feasible, it would be preferred to adding entries to the CLASSPATH variable for every jar file you want to use. You could end up with hundreds of entries into the CLASSPATH variable if you have that many jar files in use.
Any thoughts, comments, or links to where I can find any info on this?...
    thanks for any information.....

In my company, we use scripts (in UNIX system) to handle this problem. The following scripts can iterate jar files in a given directory:
    for i in ${YOUR_LIB_DIR}/*.jar
    do
    YOUR_CLASSPATH=${YOUR_CLASSPATH}:$i
    done
With this simple script, you can use any directory in the same way as the ext\ direcotry (just copy the jar file in it), and you still have the flexibility of maintaining jar files in different directories, say a number of projects.
but i don't know whether .bat/.cmd scripts for windows have the same function.

  • Installation Issues for Management Agent on AIX

I am having installation issues with Oracle Management Agent Install using OUI....
    I have done the following:
    i)     download AIX_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_1.zip to aix machine.
ii)     unzip , it creates aix directory.
iii)     unzip "oui_aix.jar " , which is available under aix/oui/
    iv)     pl unjar "oui_aix.jar " , ( jar -xvf oui_aix.jar )
    v)     set AGENT_HOME=/oracle/WD1/oem/
    vi)     chmod –R 777 * from /oracle/WD1/oem/
    vii)     invoke ./runInstaller from aix/oui/Disk1/
When I invoke runInstaller it asks me for Additional Management Service install but after first screen does check ask Oracle Home and then goes intsall OUI and never asks for OMS and OMS port etc..
Can I install the Management agent through OUI... What are the steps ?
    Thanks,
    Atul

I deinstalled the OUI and again re-installed.. but still I cannot get it working.. That is why I was looking that if somebody came accross the same issue... Why it does not ask the OMS page at all.. If some body has installed Management Agent on AIX through OUI pl. respond.
    Thanks

If our DW will only over contain inserts, do we require a staging area?

    Hi DarrenOD,
I personally like to put data in staging area before loading it to the Data Warehouse. It will give flexibility of debugging and very much needed when you have restricted time slot for data extraction from OLTP.

  • Introducing Business Area for Management Consolidation

Our Business has been using Business Area for all management reporting purpose since SAP had been implemented some 15 yrs back in our organization. They do not want to use Profit Center for management consolidation purpose in SEM-BCS. Our Project Manager wants to go with one data basis with one cons area.
I have planned to remove all Profit center related characteristics (alloc cons Profit center, cons Profit center grp, cons profit center, Investee unit- profit center and Partner cons profit center) and introduce Business Area with Sub-assignment role. Under Breakdown category, I will create necessary sub-assignment from comp code GL transaction data to Business Area. I can do legal consolidation in the normal course and with sub-assignment and using breakdown category, I can derive Business Area based consolidation and also I can generate both legal and mgmt reports.
Whether my understanding of the data basis architecture is correct? Is it prudent to proceed further based on my understanding?
Dan & Eugene: I look forward for your feedback.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Tim

Dan: <i>For management reporting you may not want to post eliminations between companies where the business areas are the same.</i>
If the Business wants to see the eliminations between companies, within the same business area, as part of BEx reports, what should I do? They do not want to execute consolidation functions in UCMON but just want to see how the eliminations have taken place between companies with in the same business area.
Dan: <i>As long as the partner company and partner business area are consistently included for the intercompany transactions, the eliminations between Legal and Management will agree at the top-level of each hierarchy.</i>
Have I to introduce one more InfoObject Partner Business Area in the data basis and assign the role Sub-assignment once again?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Creating staging area for setup downloaded from Oracle Edelivery

    Hi,
I am going to install EBS 12.1.1 on RHEL 5.3
I have downloaded the setup from edelivery.oracle.com
Now I was wondering how I should create stage area.
I came to know from couple of posts from Hussein that as I have downloded the setup(no CDs/DVDs),I just have to copy the downloaded file under the stage area directory
    and then unzip those files.
But I came to know from EBS R12.1.1 installatioin guide that there has to be five sub-directories,before you actually start installation, namely
startCD, oraApps, oraDB, oraAS, and oraAppDB
    So,my question is
Will these directories get created automatically when I unzip the downloaded files?
Do I have to unzip the downloded files in any particular sequence(so that these five sub-directories get created properly)?

I came to know from couple of posts from Hussein that as I have downloded the setup(no CDs/DVDs),I just have to copy the downloaded file under the stage area directory
    and then unzip those files.Correct.
But I came to know from EBS R12.1.1 installatioin guide that there has to be five sub-directories,before you actually start installation, namely
startCD, oraApps, oraDB, oraAS, and oraAppDBThis is valid only if you stage the files from the Media Pack. If you have downloaded the file from e-Delivery website, then just place the files in one directory, extract it there and this will create the stage area directory for you.
    So,my question is
Will these directories get created automatically when I unzip the downloaded files?Yes.
Do I have to unzip the downloded files in any particular sequence(so that these five sub-directories get created properly)? The sequence does not matter, just make sure you have all the directories created.
You may also run md5sum as per (MD5 Checksums for R12.1.1 Rapid Install Media [ID 802195.1]) to verify the integrity of the stage area directory once you are done with the staging.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • API for managing agents in UCCX

    Hi!
Is exist any API for add/remove agents at UCCX ?
    For change skills assigned?
    Thanks

    Hi ,
AFAIK the agents can be added or deleted from the call manager and that has to be done by the admin.
Regarding changing the teams and skills of an agent that can be achieved from the appadmin page in UCCX by the supervisor.
Lets say you have a user with supervisor rights in UCCX and not the admin rights.
Login to appdmin page using admin credentials and now under system-->System parameters -->Under Application Parameters look for Supervisor Access and there you can set it to "access to all teams".
Now log off from appadmin and login to appadmin  with supervisor credentials and under rmcm you can see teams and skills and can change the teams skills assigned to an agent.
You will not be able add or delete any thing in appadmin when logged on with supervisor credentials.
I hope the above steps helps you.
    Regards
    Rajiv

Having been used to my PC Laptop and needing to generate and read Word documents - and the occasional Excel and Powerpoint files - I need to get a better solution for dealing with these on my new MacBook Pro Retina 15".
Should I buy Office for Mac? if so, which version?

Why not try Open Office? It's free and file compatible with MS Office.

    # resource is http://host/. This is because more resources from the
    # same path are likely to be accessed subsequently.
    # However this may take a long time the first time if there
    # are many many policies defined under the root resource.
    # To have agent get and cache the policy decision for the resource only,

#When the not enforced list or policy has a wildcard '*' character, agent
#strips the path info from the request URI and uses the resulting request
#URI to check against the not enforced list or policy instead of the entire
#request URI, in order to prevent someone from getting access to any URI by
#simply appending the matching pattern in the policy or not enforced list.
#For example, if the not enforced list has the value http://host/*.gif,
#stripping the path info from the request URI will prevent someone from
#getting access to http://host/index.html by using the URL http://host/index.html?hack.gif.
#However when a web server (for exmample apache) is configured to be a reverse
#proxy server for a J2EE application server, path info is interpreted in a different
#manner since it maps to a resource on the proxy instead of the app server.
#This prevents the not enforced list or policy from being applied to part of
#the URI below the app serverpath if there is a wildcard character. For example,
#if the not enforced list has value http://host/webapp/servcontext/* and the
#request URL is http://host/webapp/servcontext/example.jsp the path info
#is /servcontext/example.jsp and the resulting request URL with path info stripped
#is http://host/webapp, which will not match the not enforced list. By setting the
#following property to true, the path info will not be stripped from the request URL
#even if there is a wild character in the not enforced list or policy.
#Be aware though that if this is set to true there should be nothing following the
#wildcard character '*' in the not enforced list or policy, or the
#security loophole described above may occur.

  • Oracle 8i install on Win ME - invalid staging area?

I'm having trouble installing 8i Personal Edition on Win ME
(Athlon 1.3, 768 ram, plenty of disk space). I get the
error "Invalid staging area. There are no top level components
for Windows 95 available for install from this staging area." on
the "File Locations" step of the pre-install process. Anyone
know what this may be caused by?

    Edit your win.ini file
In the [Compatibility 95] section add the following:
    Jrew=0x00080000
Save the file and reboot your machine..
Now you will be able to install Personal 8i for windows 98 on
    windows ME

  • Staging photos for processing

I'm trying to create a staging area for newly imported photos that I haven't processed yet. I've been using the projects within folders method for organization. After I process my images, I tried dragging the project to the appropriate folder and all my images disappear. When I look at the image details, I notice the path info changes within Aperture when you move photos around.
Is this a bug in Aperture 3 or is there a better way to stage photos and move them to the final project / folder later?
    Thx

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I'm still experiencing this on an intermittent basis. I've been doing some reading and it looks like I need to reorganize my library anyway. I currently have a single project with all my photos (~12K) in it and a folder for each year, albums by month and event. In hindsight I'm looking to create a folder for each year, a project for each month and use albums to break out the events. I tried to drag photos from one project to the next with no joy. I think its time to bite the bullet and start over and re-import.
