Standalone to Extended

Hello,
Before, our test SRM system was standalone, we've recently changed to extended with a remote non-R/3 system.
Now when we try to create a SC, it dumps:
<b>Runtime Error          CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR
Date and Time          28.08.2006 13:18:05
ShrtText
     "Function NOR3_COMPANYCODE_GETLIST is not available"</b>
This function obviously doesnt exist on the remote non-R/3 system, ok, but how can I bypass this or customize it so we use another specific function?
Thanks,
Tim

Deepti,
Thanks for the info.  It help me to start my research.
However, I'm interested to see if it possible ... Just keep EBP alone till PO created, then save a copy of SRM PO back to SAP/FI only?  If possible, what minimum configuration will be involved in SAP/FI for accepting this external PO?  Do I have to setup any product category? vendor partner, doc type ...? Which BADI can be used to adjust passing vendor partner mapping, doc type ... and other additional SAP/FI required entries?
Thanks, Lisa

  • Technical Scenario Switch: From Standalone To Extended Classic

    Hello,
    Currently we are preparing the system to change the technical scenario from standalone to extended classic (SRM 4.0)
    While the Customizing steps are clear, it isn´t so clear how the data that already exist in the system will behave after the scenario switch.
    Before the scenario switch, the purchasing department is closing all open SRM local purchase orders.
    Someone has already done this kind of scenario switch?
    What were the problems you encounter?
    Regards.

    Hi
    <u>Before talking about de-activating ECS or not in this BADI, this scenario must first be activated.</u>
    This is done via the customizing point "Activate ECS": just flag the check-box, and all you classic items (i.e. those for which a backend has been determined) become extended classic.
    Here is the SRM - IMG path:
    <b>SRM Server --> Cross-Application Basic Settings --> Activate Extended Classic Scenario.</b>
    You can then fine-tune the scenario by using the BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI.
    Note- The BADI BBP_EXTLOCAL_PO_BADI can be used to activate the classic scenario based on the proguct categories .
    <u>You can choose to have the 3 scenarios working on the same SRM system depending on product category (standard) or any other business rule through the BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI. The BADI is mandatory if you want the Classic and the Extended Classic to work together</u>
    <u>Exactly, this BADI allow you to implement your own business rule for backend determination in a multiple Backends environment (Standard customizing is only based on Product categories)</u>
    As soon as you use BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI , you don't have to use the ECS scenario activation customizing point (the rule is overwritten with the BADI result). The BADI BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS will only help in your case, if you have several Backend where to create PO documents.

  • SRM standalone and extended classic

    Hi Experts,
    Configuration: ECC 6.0  (with Ehp4 installed - (not activated)
                           SRM 7.0
    Just want to seek confirmation of my understanding re: SRM implementation scenarios. Is it possible to have a extended classic and standalone setup using the same SRM server with same client? Both will have the same product categories. These will be for two separate entities/companies.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.

    Hi Mike,
    How did you end up solving your problem, as i have the same scenario.  Did you use this BADI (
    SRM Server->Business Add-Ins->Control Extended Classic Scenario->Activate Extended Classic Scenario)?  Based on my reading, it seems this BADI is relevant to switch between extended classic and classic scenarios.
    From what i understand, we can control the standalone scenario via the define backend system configuration (SAP SRM -> SRM Server -> Technical Basic Settings -> Define Backend System for Product Category).  In your scenario, you have one set of product categories, just like mine, so i assume you had to implement this BADI (BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS, method:   DETERMINE_LOGSYS - SAP SRM -> SRM Server -> Business Add-Ins ->Shopping Carts and Requirement Items -> Determine Backend System / Company Code) in order to determine the correct backend system based on company/plant for example.
    Did you then leave the extended classic scenario activated *
    MG --> Supplier Relationship Management -> SRM Server-> Cross-Application Basic Settings->
    Activate Extended Classic Scenario)?
    Or how did you achieve both standalone and extended classic using one SRM server?
    cheers,

  • Extended classic scenario triggered on company code

    Good morning,
    I have a system with SRM 5.0. I would like to have both classic and extended classic scenario, I know that it is possible to activate extended classic only for a product category with BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI , but my question is: Is it possible to activate it for a company code? • Can we use both Stand alone and Extended classic in one SRM system

    Hi All,

  • Question regarding Free Items

    Hello All-
    We are using SRM version 4.0 and we have implemented both Standalone and Extended Classic scenario.
    Using ECS scenario, we have a requirement to create Purchase orders with $0 at line item level. Few lines in the Purchase order will have price assocaiated with qty and few lines will have $0 associated with qty. ( Example: Purchase order has 2 line items. 1st Line has a price of $100 and the second line has a price of $0.)
    Whenever we create a shopping cart with such line items, the PO is getting created in "Held" status. The error message reads "Enter the price or set the follow-on document indicator".
    I would like to know the way to implement this functionality i,e PO to get created with $0 at line item level and the backedend PO is checked with "Free Item" indicator for that line.
    Any ideas are suggestions will be appreciated.
    FYI - In Standalone Scenario, we can create PO with line items having $0.
    Regards,
    Upendra.

  • Some doubts regarding sorcing cockpit in EBP

    Hi all,
    This is sankar bhatta , working in IBM . I am new to the EBP module. I got  few doubts regarding the sourcing cockpit.
    When a shopping cart comes to the sourcing cockpit of the purchaser. I mean in what cases??
    i am listing some of the cases where i have doubts.
    1) A user creates a SC , but he doesn't assign any vendors. in that case it comes to the sourcing cockpit of the Purchase . is it right??
    2)A user created a shopping cart ( with more than one item) without vendor and it has gone to SOCO of purchaser . he has assigned the vendor and orders it. the PO is created in the Backend. now because of some reason ( for example the vendor is not able to supply the item ) the purchase deletes one item from the PO in EB. In this case is the SC comes again to SOCO of the Purchaser???
    3) the user created the SC without vendor.The SC goes to the SOCO of the purchaser. The SC is in approval process. Now the user deletes one item and orders it again. In this case whether the SC goes to the SOCO again???
    4) User created a SC ( with more than one item) and approval is over. PO is created in the backend. Now, if the user or somebody who has the authorisation deletes the item in SC , does the SC goes to the SOCO of the purchaser??
    5)According to SAp standard functionallity, PO can be deleted only by one in purcasing organisation. Is this person person csn be a purchaser (or) some other person in the Purchasing organisation??
    Please answer these questions and if you know any other case where a SC comes to the SOCO of the Purcher please include that also.
    Thanks and regards
    Sankar Rao Bhatta.

    Hi Sankara,
    The Sourcing cockpit is much more simple than that. Your questions show you'rre very confused in this.
    There is only one customizing point used : SAP Reference IMG -> SAP Implementation Guide -> Supplier Relationship Management -> SRM Server -> Sourcing -> Define Sourcing for Product Categories
    If Sourcing for Product Categories is not configured, the system creates purchase orders in the local scenario for all requirements; these are incomplete if the source of supply is missing. If you require additional control options, for example, the facility to control processing at product level, you can use the following BAdI: Define Execution of Sourcing.
    The diferent options you have in the customizing point are:
    -Sourcing is never carried out: This is the default setting. Enterprise Buyer does not transfer any items to the purchaser's sourcing application ¨C independent of the status of the shopping cart.
    -Sourcing is always carried out: Enterprise Buyer transfers each item to Sourcing ¨C independent of the status of the shopping cart.
    -Sourcing is carried out for items without a source of supply: Enterprise Buyer transfers all requirements that have multiple sources of supply of which none is assigned, or if there is no source of supply for the requirement, to Sourcing.
    -Automatic requirement grouping; sourcing for items without assigned source of supply:
    If a source of supply is assigned to a requirement, the report BBP_SC_TRANSFER_GROUPED automatically groups requirements together for the creation of a PO. If the requirement does not have a source of supply, it appears in the work list of the sourcing application for manual assignment. Once you have assigned a source of supply, you can submit the requirement to the report.
    -Automatic grouping; sourcing is never carried out: If a source of supply is assigned to a requirement, the report BBP_SC_TRANSFER_GROUPED automatically groups requirements together for the creation of a PO. If the requirement does not have a source of supply, an incomplete PO is created.
    -Automatic bid invitation for items without a source of supply: Enterprise Buyer creates a bid invitation for all requirements that do not have any source of supply.
    So for your questions:
    1)depending on your customizing, this SC will lead to:
    -Backend PR (classic scenario)
    -Local incomplete PO (standalone or extended classic without soircing)
    -Requirement in the Sourcing cockpit (if customized)
    2)The modification of a PO will never change the initial document (SC and/or requirement), nothing 'comes back' into the sourcing cockpit
    3)If you customized the sourcink cockpit, the SC line goes into it only after the approval process
    4)This has nothing to do with the sourcing cockpit
    5)The POs can be deleted by people who have correct authorizations (that is purchasers of the document purch. org. in standard). Be careful the POs cannot be deleted as soon as they have been edited (as of R/3).

  • Confirmation Control Key

    Hi
    Do anyone know if it is possible to use "Confirmation Control Key" in SRM Contracts and Purchase Orders?
    We are running Externat Scenarios in SRM7.0
    We want the same functionality as the key in MM Contracts and PO to determines which confirmation categories are expected (e.g. order acknowledgment, shipping notification).
    Thanks in advance
    Br
    Jesper

    Hi Jesper,
    what do you mean by External Scenarios in SRM ? is this standalone or Extended classic ?
    If its extended classic then just do settings in ECC and in the PO you will get the confirmation control key as desired.

  • Document type and Transaction type

    Hi,
    Can someone give me a clear and detailed understanding of how to maintain transaction types in SRM system and document types in the backend system based on various scenarios (i.e standalone,classic. extended.....)
    Is it mandatory that the document type assigned in org plan attribute BSA be maintained in the local system as well??
    Thanks
    sunny

    Lol Sunny,
    Thanks for the compliment, but no, I'm in france. I work on SRM for now 5 years, so it helps
    In fact META BAPI are only BAPIs, with a certain way of developping: What SAP calls "Abstraction Layer".
    This allow you to manage Partner system version differences, and backend unavailability, the process is:
    ->META_BAPI
    -First try synchronously
    -->Read table BBP_FUNCTION_MAP (and now get into BADI) to get the exact function module to be called depending on the partner system type and its version
    --->Call of this function (which either makes local actions, or call the backend system with RFC)
    If the system was unable to call the partner system , it creates a job to re-try the call (based on what you entered in customizing).
    Here is the SAP description:
    <i>- Depending on the release level used, you can use various Business Application Programming Interfaces (BAPIs) to implement the business processes in the back end system. The abstraction layer encapsulates the BAPI calls in the back end system that are necessary to generate the back end documents from requirement coverage requests. The abstraction layer accesses the following sources of information:
    -Dispatcher: This function module analyzes the Customizing settings and then knows:
    --     Which driver it must call
    --     Which back end system it is communicating with
    --     The back end system release
    --     Driver: For each release level supported and each abstraction layer, there is a driver module that calls the BAPIs in the back end system.
    --     Spoolers: The spooler controls the transfer of documents from the Enterprise Buyer system to the back end system. If errors occur during the transfer, for example, the back end system cannot be contacted, the spooler is used as the queue for the requirement coverage requests. The spooler tries to contact the back end system at regular intervals and to transfer the documents.</i>

  • JSplitPane with external panel

    Hi,
    I want to use a JSplitPane wich:
    Displays a JTree in the left-component
    Displays application selected from JTree in right-component
    Sounds simple. The right-component has a 'card-deck' which will
    swap whenever an other application is selected in the JTree.
    I have written a short test which does almost exactly what I want.
    Problem is that a panel, which was a standalone Frame-app first,
    is not shown in the right-component (but it is running!)
    It seems that cannot put a standalone application (extending a JFrame) on a component.
    So I decided to change the application and use a JPanel in stead
    of a JFrame. The panel is accepted but isn't shown. (application is
    running though).
    I created a short testpanel_class which should be shown when
    the first app is selected from JTree.
    Current Result when JSplitPane-app is started
    ==> I get the 'home'-card first
    ==> When App2 is selected, I get correct card
    ==> When App1 is selected, the right-component is blank (app runs!)
    Herewith the codesnippet of my JSplitPane-app which is showing
    how I put the components on the left/right components:
    ===================================================
         private JSplitPane getJSplitPane() {
              if (jSplitPane == null) {
                   jLabel = new JLabel("Tekst");
                   jSplitPane = new JSplitPane();
                   jSplitPane.setLeftComponent(getJTree());
                   myPanel.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
                   pCards.setLayout(cardlayout);
                   pCards.add("home", new JLabel("Home"));
                   pCards.add("App1", new SplitBasePanel());
                   pCards.add("App2", new JLabel("Menu2 Selected"));
                   myPanel.add(pCards, BorderLayout.CENTER);
                   myApp.getViewport().add(myPanel);
                   jSplitPane.setRightComponent(myApp);
              return jSplitPane;
    ===================================================
    And I swap the cards as follows:
    ===================================================
         public void valueChanged(TreeSelectionEvent event) {
              if (!firstRun){
    System.out.println
    ("Current Selection: " +
    jTree.getLastSelectedPathComponent().toString());
    if ((jTree.getLastSelectedPathComponent().toString()).equals("App 1")){
                   cardlayout.show(pCards, "App1");
    if ((jTree.getLastSelectedPathComponent().toString()).equals("App 2")){
                   cardlayout.show(pCards, "App2");
              firstRun = false;
    ======================================================
    Here is my application-panel to be shown
    =================================
    package application;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    public class SplitBasePanel
         extends JPanel {
         // Panel Layout
         private JPanel c = new JPanel();
         // APPLICATION BASE FRAME
         public SplitBasePanel() {
         // Create Application panel
         c.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
         // Initialize CardDeck with basepanels
         c.add(new JLabel("my External Application"), BorderLayout.CENTER);
    }

    a) Sorry for the "code"-formatting, i just copy & paste from my developersoft.
    b) SSCCE ????
    c) I have placed this in this forum because it is not only a question about usage of swing components but also about the concept I try to implement. Maybe what I'm trying to do is just not the right concept !
    d) what do you mean by your final remark (history reply postings)?
    I do not make daily usage of this Developer Forums. So please forgive me when I don't follow the rules completely. I will post the message again in the SWING-forum and try to use the correct formatting.

  • SRM/Portal upgrade

    we are migrating from SRM 3/EBP2.0/Requisite/EP6 SP2 to SRM5.0/SRM Server5.5/CCM2.0/Portal NW2004s/Solution Manager4.0. Only the shopping cart scenario is implemented and there is minimal customization (the login page has been modified to fit the client look and feel).
    Does anyone have experience with this type of migration? we need to understand:
    - the timelines required for the migration (assuming this is a pure technical migration, no new functionality added). A detailed activity list would be helpful to have if one exists.
    - what are the potential roadblocks, lessons learned etc.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi Kirk,
    First of all I don't understand your product version: You said you're on SRM 3.0 and EBP 2.0. In fact SRM 3.0 corresponds to EBP 4.0.
    If you're really moving from EBP 2.0 to SRM Server 5.5, then be aware of the fact that all SC  transactions and programs have been changed: So be carefull, <b>ALL YOUR STANDARD MODIFICATIONS WILL BE OBSOLETE, YOU'LL HAVE TO REDO IT ALL</b>.
    ANother point is about the architecture, main changes are:
    -IPC is now mandatory for standalone and Extended Classic scenario
    -Integrated ITS can be used instead of External ITS
    -SAP XI is now the EAI used for SRM in SRM and CCM scenario. It is shipped with pre designed scenarii for SRM and Catalog flows
    -You have to choose how you'll install the CCM add-On: My recomandation would be to install the CCM add-on on the SRM Server (on the same client than the SRM to share the basis data)
    -No migration tool exists from Requisite Products (BugsEye and Emerge) to CCM product
    NB: If you need an SRM expert for your project preparation, please feel free to contact me directly (see my SDN Business Card).

  • Extended Classic vs Standalone

    Hi,
    1. Can i choose between Extended Classic vs Standalone, I might sound stupid, still i want to hear from this forum.
    2. Per my understanding, i can choose to be fully classic by activating Activate Extended Classic Scenario or Partly Classic and ECS by BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI.
    3. Here, BADI BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS will help to what and how. As i understood this will help in case of multiple backends.
    4. I have done Decoupled where partly Classic and partly Standalone.
    4. If I want to partly ECS nnd partly Standalone, can i do with combination of BADI BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS and BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI without activating Activate Extended Classic Scenario.
    Thanks,
    Jay

    Hi,
    1 & 2- You can choose to have the 3 scenarios working on the same SRM system depending on product category (standard) or any other business rule through the BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI. The BADI is mandatory if you want the Classic and the Extended Classic to work together
    3- Exactly, this BADI allow you to implement your own business rule for backend determination in a multiple Backends environment (Standard customizing is only based on Product categories)
    4- As soon as you use BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI , you don't have to use the ECS scenario activation customizing point (the rule is overwritten with the BADI result). The BADI BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS will only help in your case, if you have several Backend where to create PO documents.
    PS: be aware that in ECS scenario you will no longer be abble to create PR or reservations in R/3.
    Regards.
    Vadim.

  • Photoshop cs6 opens on Photoshop extended windows. Impossible to open standalone program. I never suscribed to extended,. Photoshop extendes doesn't appear in my programs list.

    I have used Photoshop cs6 since two years without any problem. Yesterday, when trying to open it, a message appeared : "Internal problem in photoshop (code 16). Please reinstall photoshop.
    So did I. But now, when I try to open photoshop, a window appears with photoshop extended proposing to go to the net for subsciption. I say no, the window closes an that's all.
    I never susscribed to adobe extended programs and do neither have photoshop extended in my program list nor in the registery base.

    Thank you.  That solved that problem.  I still can't get Windows 7 to associate TIF files to Photoshop.  It's associated to it in Bridge, but when I try in Windows control panel, the file shows as being associated to Paint.  When I try to change it, Photoshop is not even on the list of available programs.  When I Browse to the directory and click Photoshop.exe, nothing happens. The association doesn't change and Photoshop does not appear as a choice.  So I have no idea what to try next.
