STANDARD BEHAVIOUR OF INSPECTION TYPE 03

Hi All,
I am implementing  Inprocess Inspection Points for a Material.
1) I have enabled QM view of MM with Inspection Type 03.
2) I have created Routing and assigned Inspection Characteristics for operations.
When I release the Production order, I have Lot created in Quality Inspection.I now do a operation confirmation at the last operation in the routing.
I do a Result recording but I dont do a UD. I now do GR for the Production Order.
It moves the stock to Unrestricted from Quality while I still have Inspection Lot in QA32 without UD done.
Q1. Is this a standard SAP behaviour or I am missing out something. If this is a standard behaviour why will any body clear Inspection Lot created under this inspection Type. It is after all not stalling the process.
Q2. I learn that Inspection type 03 is not relevant for Stock. What does this mean ?
Any important pointers will be appreciated.
I am confused. Please help.
Thanks,
Rahul.

Dear Rahul
You have understood it correctly
2) Let me answer your second question first  - 03 inspection is not stock specific. this is because you dont have a stock posting tab (unrestricte, block etc) in this inspection tab as you have in 01 or 04 inspection. here you do only confirmation of quantity. Hope you understood
1) 03 inspection is to assisst people in recording result for during process. It is doesnt hold any stock. It gives you a control over operation confirmation where you can practise Rework order , calculation of First pass yield etc.   It also helps in some processing companies if they need to do result recording after every 1 hour or after some fixed quantities have been made.
But 03 inspection can be made effective if you have follow the below.
1) All Operation confirmation are mandatory for doing the GR of the order
2) Operation sequencing should be mandatory so that people dont skip QM operation and confirm operation next to QM Operation.
3) also there can be link made between 04 inspection and 03 inspection so that to give UD for 04 inspection you have to mandatorily give UD for 03 inspection
Hope this throws some light.
please let me know your feedback

  • Inspection type 05,08,89,F4

    Dear Experts,
On which scenario i should use inspection type 05,08,89 and F4?
If anyone can provide me a business example, that will be very helpful.
    Thnx in advance.

    Hey!
04 is used for materials we receive from production, these are semi finished (stock relevant) and finished materials. So whenever you see 04 lot materials you know these are your in house produced materials.
05 is used for other goods receipt, ie, neither raw material receipt nor production house receipt. Like you have received some material as customer return and want to manage the stock through quality, so use 05 inspection type instead of standard customer retuen inspection type 06 (Which is non-stock relevant).
08 inspection type is related to stock transfer, Like you have moved a material from storage location A to B, so for this you need an inspection lot to be created. In that cas you will be using inspection type 08, does not matter whether your material is raw or in house produced.
89 is used for creating inspection lots manually. for 01, 04,03 and others we have a defined automated path, like whenever there is a raw material receipt 01 inspection lots will be created. But 89 lots are not automated, you create them manually in QA01 and most importantly they are non-stock relevant. We create 89 lots just to check the quality, not for stock transfer.
I hope we have cleared your doubts.

  • Inspection type 01 - inspection lot creation based on vendor batch number

    Hi Guys,
this topic has been discussed several times here, but I was not able to find a suitable answer for my question.
I am facing the folowing requirement:
I have activated inspection type 01 for a raw material.
I am receiving a firs goods receipt from vendor A with vendor batch number 0001.
The system creates its own goods receipt batch number 0546 based on internal numbering.
A new inspection lot is created.
I am posting a second goods receipt from vendor a with vendor batch 0001.
The system creates a new batch number 0547 based on internal numbering.
A new inspection lot is created.
I do not want to get the second inspection lot, because I received vendor batch 0001 before and I am assuming it has been inspected or is in inspection.
Option 1: Post the second goods receipt against the first internal batch number created.
I am aware of this need at the moment, but a user is not always checking if there is an internal batch with the same vendor received before.
Can I customize the system to create inspection lots based on the fact that the vendor batch number was received before?
Or do I have to use an exit and some ABAP code to get the wanted result?
Thanks for your advice in advance.

You need to use one of the enhancements that Do-Wook has suggested.  There is no standard SAP way to suppress the inspection based on the vendor batch number.
With the first enhancement you use the system to check for a previously received vendor batch and if one is found, then that batch number is proposed and not the next one from the numbering series.  In this case, the lot isn't created than due to the inspection lot control of the inspection type.
With the second enhancement you check the vendor batch number and if it's been received you suppress the inspection lot creation and the stock goes right to unrestricted.
You'll probably need to do one or the other.  Myself, I prefer the first enhancement.

  • Vendor Evaluation and inspection type 17

    All,
Iam using EWM QIE as a result of which i have to use inspection type 17. Does Vendor Evaluation work with inspection type 17. I know for a fact that in standard ECC Vendor Evaluation works with the 01 inspection type, but i am not sure of inspection type 17. Any input will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Dear Ramki,
Thanks for your input; if I don't use the user exit, then the quality score is being shown there for the material level.
But still, there are a few problems:
    1. Material wise Quality score, which is being displayed in ME64, is not getting updating in any of the table. Table ELBM is also blank. There is not even a single record.
    2. The quality rating that is being calculated here is as per following:
The user gives disposition for the incoming material as
              Qty accepted directly: A1
              Qty accepted after segregation: A2
Qty accepted as major deviation: A3
Qty accepted as minor deviation: A4
              Qty Rejected.     : A5
    The formula is
    Q.R. = (A11 + A2(-0.5) + A30.5 + A4(0.8) +A5(-1)  - Line Rej. qty(-1)) /
                   Total No. of Qty Received.
    Final Q.R. = Q.R. - Mix up complaints*10 - Genuine complaints * 5
Since the formula have subtraction(negative quality score) also, I don't think that this subtraction or negative score would be able to capture in FM for Quality score procedure and the notification qty will not be able to be calculated.
So, to get the quality rating as per above and getting the same for the material wise also.
After that i need to get one report for vendor wise material wise report at month period.
    How should I proceed?
Thanks once again for your valuable input.

  • Table for stoing the inspection type of a material

    Hi,
I want to know is there any table which stores the value Inspection Type of a material such as  03,zwork maintained in the qualitty view of it.
plzz provide me guidelines to solve this problem.

  • 08 inspection type problem.

    Hi,
We are planing to use standard inspection type 08 while receiving the material from STO. We activated the 08 (we are also using 01) inspection type in the material master (in the receiving plant). Please also note that we have not excluded any movement type from QM. Here we are using standard 101 movement only for GR from delivery against STO. And all 101 movement types are allowed for QM. But still system is not selecting the stock type as Quality inspection while STO creation. System is selecting unrestriced use stock only by-default. If you manually select the stock type as quality stock...then rest of the cycle is perfectly o.k.
What could be the problem? Anybody could help me in this regard?
    Regards.

I think you wonder why the stock type is "Unrestricted" on STO's item detail even though the inspection type "08" has been activated.
I agree that the stock type confuses us sometimes.
Anyway SAP says the stock type is set by default setting on transaction MIGO and it is not important if configured.
It means that the stock type is updated correctly when a material document is posted.
Don't worry that the stock would be posted to insp. stock even though the stock type is not "Inspection stock" on STO.

  • QM Inspection Type for SD Delivery in Returned Goods

    hi experts,
Any ideas on how to do stock postings in Iinspection Lots that are automatically created upon return delivery
I want to post to inspection stock once the Delivery has been completed. The standard SAP automatic Inspection Lot that is created does not allow us to post to stock. pl. help
    thanks in advance.
    vinay

    Hi Vinay,
Follow the below Customer Return procedure.
    Case1.
The 06 - Inspection type is not stock relevant and also it is not possible to change bcz it is SAP std.
    1. If you want inspection for Customer with stock, active 05 - Inspection type in Material Master, and move the stock from customer return to QI by using MB1B with Mvt type 457 Stock transfer returns to QI. After that system will create the Inspection lot in 05 Inspection type.
    2. If don't want stock for inspection and directly post to Unrestricted using MB1B with mvt type 453 Transfer posting to returns from customer to Unrest.
    3. Customer return to Blocked stock using MB1B with mvt type 459 Stock transfer returns to blocked
    Case2.
Inspectoin type 05 is a stock relevant inspection type.
To use 05 you must assign the 05 inspection type to the delivery item in configuration.
    follow this path.
tcode vov6 - there will be schedule line category DN.
go to details of DN.In Business data, check which movement type is assigned here.
I think in your case it will be 651.
change it to 655 and try now.
    hope it will work.

  • QM Inspection type 03

    Hi
Can any body please let me know how to make an insepction type 03 stock relevant ?
    Regards
    Sankar N

    Hi Sankar,
Not possible dear. 03 is strictly Stock ir-relevant inspection type. The reason according to me is, it is in process inspection type for the material that is under process of mfg. so at this time you will not have the stock of your product/semi finish product physically as well. So there should not be an issue of stock, hence it is id not in existence.
But as soon as you confirms the final confirmation of the order, you will have the stock of the same, so here the functionality of 04 inspection type is available. That you can use very well.
Further in addition to my argument, you have the Operation confirmation functionality available with the 03 inspection lot operation confirmation, I am talking about the yield confirmation. And the quantity you confirm at here in QM, the PP guy will not able to confirm more than it.
That is possible with FS-SS relation ship between two phases the task list. Again I will say these are not standards but you can develop them using the user exists..
    - CONFPI04 to carry out your own inspections (after carrying out SAP inspections)
You can use this customer enhancement to carry out checks on the
confirmation after the SAP checks have been carried out. The
confirmation can be changed depending on the user entries.
The following are copied to the interface: the operation in the order
(AFVGD), the complete order header (CAUFVD) and the confirmation
(AFRUD). The confirmation is copied from the customer enhancement to the
    SAP standard program.
    - CONFPI05 to update your own data after saving the confirmation
You can use this customer enhancement to update your own data after
saving the confirmation. The confirmation cannot be changed.
In this customer enhancement it is strictly forbidden to send error
messages or other messages because otherwise there is the danger that
data will be inconsistent. SAP cannot be held responsible for this!!
The following are copied to the interface: a table with all the
confirmations (AFRUD) created in this transaction and a table with the
    corresponding order headers (CAUFVD).

  • Standard Behaviour of Due Date in UWL for SRM Workitems

We have a deployment of Enterprise Portal which is integrated to SAP SRM (7.02). I have two  queries regarding the standard behaviour of "Due Date" column in UWL:
    1. The column always displays today as the due date for all shopping carts, irrespective of delviery date. I would like to know whether this is an issue and also would be helpful if you elaborate on how is this calculated.
    2. The column is showing blank for any workitems other than shopping carts (Purchase Order change workitem, User change approvals, Invoice approvals etc.)
    Thanks

    Dear ArulPrakash
I hope you are well and many thanks for using the SAP Discussion Forums .
With reference to the scenario that you have described you mentioned the following:
You have a deployment of Enterprise Portal which is integrated to SAP SRM (7.02). You have two  queries regarding the standard behaviour of "Due Date" column in UWL:
The column always displays today as the due date for all shopping carts, irrespective of delviery date. You would like to know whether this is an issue and also would be helpful if you elaborate on how is this calculated.
The column is showing blank for any workitems other than shopping carts (Purchase Order change workitem, User change approvals, Invoice approvals etc.)
Ok regarding your queries kindly let me attempt to provide some clarification and oversight.
Firstly in terms of the column and the fact it displays todays date as the due date (irrespective of the actual delivery date).  Now from a broad level overview perspective it is possible to change the display of the due date in the UWL.  In the standard xml file you will see the following: <DisplayAttribute name="dueDate" type="date" width="" sortable="yes" format="medium" referenceBundle="due_date" hAlign="LEFT" vAlign="BASELINE" maxTextWidth="0" headerVisible="yes"/> The medium format refers to the output of the field displaying the date as follows: Jun 01, 2014. The short format refers to the output of the field displaying the date as follows: 06/01/14.The long format refers to the output of the field displaying the date as follows: June 01, 2014. The full format refers to the output of the field displaying the date as follows: Tuesday, June 01, 2014. I've attached some reference documentation below for further reference on both your queries.
Secondly regarding the blank columns for workitems. Here the first thing which needs to be ensured is that SAP Note: 1133821 - UWL Destination Service configuration is followed and setup accordingly in terms of configuration settings and parameters. Now you mention that this is occuring for another other item other than shopping carts? Are custom attributes involed here? Could you please have a look at the help document below to check the bahavior of retrieving custom attributes in UWL? http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ef/f2aed99c414f81adacc6b897a6910a/content.htm

  • Inspection Type - Default Values - Inspection for HU

    Hi Gurus:
In SPRO >QM > QI > Insp. Lot Creation > Define Default Values for Inspection Type
I am trying to check the Inspection for HU box under the Inspection Lot Creation section.  It checks fine, but when I save, the check disappears.  I have others where I have set this, so I am unsure why it is not letting me.  There is no error message appearing...Only the check disappears upon Save.
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Nic

    Hi
U r right. This is Happening to the Insp types 05 and 08 as per the coding written in the standard Program. It is checking the Insp lot origin in the table V_TQ33 and clearing the Tick for the Inspection for HU field if the insp lot origin is 05 and 08 while saving.

  • Configure another Inspection Type for Production Order

    Hi QM Gurus,
I have one scenario, my client wants to have another inspection type for inspection lot origin goods receipt from production because they have this requirement that for some materials they need to have a status profile that will be active for inspection type standard 04. And there are also some materials from goods receipt from production that does not need status profile. Since the only thing that we could assign as specific status profile is to its inspection type. Hence, i need to create another inspection type for lot origin goods receipt from production aside from inspection type 04 that will create automatic inspection lots with different status profiles.I try this in configuration but no inspection lots has been made for new inspection type assigned to LOt origin 04 and also assigned in the material master inspection set-up. How will i do this???
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Matildo, Edsel
    QM Consultant

    Hello Edsel,
you can configure for example an inspection type 0401 and activate this inspection type for the inspection origin 04 in customizing. Please look at the following customizing items:
    Transaction QCC3
    -> Inspection Lot Creation
    - Maintain Inspection Types
    - Maintain Inspection Lot Origins and Assign Inspection Types
By activating the correspondent inspection type in the material master you can decide which inspection type is used. If you need both then you could think about using the exit QAAT0001 to assign the correspondent inspection type.

  • Default inspection Type In the Material Master

    Hello
We have to assign two -three inspection types in the material master. How to default this inspection types in the material master always .
    Thanks
    JJ

    Dear JJ
This you will have to do by putting validation in the material master. I dont think you have a standard solution for that.
Or esle you can run QA08 wherein you can assign inspection type enmass.
    Please let meknow your feedback

  • Inspection type for STO with delivery and billing , two step procedure

    Dear All,
We've  STO scenario between two company codes, plant '1000' of company code '1000' supplies goods to plant '2000' of company code '2000' using STO. We'd like to evaluate the supplying plant for vendor evalution with respect to receiving plant,
Please suggest , which inspection type '01' or '08'  needs to  be activated in the material master in receiving plant '2000' in order to consider the supplying plant ' 1000' for vendor evalution. and kindly let know me that whether the functionalities of QM procurement (Checking receipt of certificate while posting MIGO) can be used in STO scenario similar to normal procurement scenarios,
Here, we are going for STO scenario of two step procedure with outbound delivery & billing.
    Thanks & regards,
    rajesh

The inspection type '08' is used for stock transfer order process.
In SAP standard you can't evaluate the supplying plant but external vendor only.
Also the functionalities of QM procurement can influece or control it when materials are procured from external suppliers.
If you want to use the functionalities of vendor evaluation and QM procurement, I would suggest you implement normal procurement process, not stock transfer process.

  • No inspection lot created for new inspection type created

    Hi all,
We create a new inspection type which is based on a copy-version of an existing inspection type. These inspection type has a inspection type origin of standard SAP 04 (i.e. Goods Receipt from Production).
Question 1 - we bumped into problem when come to testing in which when perform goods receipt, there is no inspection lot created, may I know why?
The following fields of this new inspection type are all checked; those not specified, are not flagged.
1 - Insp with task list (flagged); Automatic Assginment (flagged); Check Chars (flagged); Skip Allow(flagged); Automatic UD(flagged); Serial Number Poss (flagged).
Question 2 - for this kind of inspection type with origin 04, do i need to perform a goods receipt against a production order or purchasing order? How do I perform a GR against a production order?
    Thanks.

    Hi Tuffy,
Possibly you might not have ticked on preferred inspection type in material master. This could be one of the reasons. Try to do GR after ticking this.
The setting you have mentioned (flagged parameters)are seems to be correct. But lot generation is governed by preferred inspection type.
If you have assigned this newly customized inspection type to lot origin 04, then it would be used against production order and not the purchase order.
There are several ways to carry out GR against production order. It depends on the scenarios which you follow
    1.     MB31 101 movement
    2.     You may use backflush so while confirming order through CO11N auto GR is posted
    3.     In case of repetitive manufacturing scenario generally GR is done by MFBF transaction
